Chapter 33: Birthday Party
••After school••
•Latoya's POV•
I sat in the dining room with Trey, Dylan and Ariel in the Bleu's house, blowing balloons while the boys try to hang up the big banner up on the wall. The presents that Trey bought for Sabrina are all stacked up in the living room, wrapped up in purple foil paper. It's about four or five presents. What a sweet brother. Dylan, I don't know if he bought some presents for her.
I brought my present for her, it's a big picture frame of Ariel, Rebbie, Sabrina and I when we were all little. It's a pretty picture and it's very adorable. Sabrina didn't have a shirt on and she had spaghetti all over her, Ariel was eating a big chocolate cake with her bare hands and chocolate was all over her face, I was doing the same, and Rebbie was playing on the floor with her dolls and Ms. Bleu and Katherine are sitting on the couch talking to each other. I think Sabrina and Ariel was about five and six years old and Rebbie and I were seven and eight years old.
It was when my family and I first moved into our mansion and the Bleu's family came and greeted us. Ariel's mom didn't have cancer that time and she looks very different in the picture because she was more thicker and her hair flows to her back and now she looks the opposite.
It's a very cute picture and I spent all my money on it and decorated the frame with purple glitter. It's wrapped up in pink wrapper because I thought her favorite color was pink until Ariel told me it's purple.
I looked over at Ariel, she's still blowing her half full balloon and looking at her phone that's on and laying on the table. I look at her phone and I can see that she has text messages from Prince on her phone. I took a deep breath after I blew a lot of air out of my lunges and look at her. She finished typing on her phone with one hand while she blew little air into the balloon in her other hand and look at me.
"What?" She said holding the mouthpiece of the purple balloon between her teeth.
I sigh, "You're always talking to him. Stop texting him, he'll be over for the birthday party." I said before I blew more air into the balloon.
"He's so sweet though." She blew air into the balloon. "Guess what?" She pulled her lips back and squeezed the mouth part of the balloon.
"What?" I breathed knowing that she's going to talk more about Prince.
"One day he's going to be famous." She made a cheesy smile showing her teeth.
I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, right." I mumbled.
She frowned,"Yes he is. He's an awesome instrument player."
"What about singing, dancing and acting like my brothers? Is he good at that?" I shot a look at her.
"Well... I don't know." She looked down and shrugged a little.
"Then probably he's not good enough." I blew more air into my balloon.
"You don't know that." She made a disgusted look at me.
"Yes I do. Get with somebody who actually knows how to do all that." I said.
"Again Toy. Stop saying that. Michael already has a fugly girlfriend and I'm already with someone I love and care about. I'm not going to be with Michael!" She tightened her grip on the balloon. "Can you not make my day any worse right now? I really don't want it to be worse than this. I just wanted to tell you the good news Prince has." She softens her voice.
"Okay. Okay. I'm sorry." I apologized holding a hand up. "You can tell me but I'm still going to think you should be with my brother." I forced air into my balloon.
She growled softly and took a deep breath.
"What I was saying...Prince is going to be in a music group and he's going to be interviewed on a tv show soon and I was thinking that I should tell the people that I'm not the person Kaitlyn says I am." She says calmly.
Great and then Michael will break up with her.
"Okay.. That's good. I guess." I smiled a little.
"It's very good." She says proudly.
Trey walks in wearing a nice tuxedo, fixing his collar and smiling at the both of us.
"Hey, y'all ain't ready yet?" He asks looking at Ariel still dressed in the same clothes she wore to school today.
"She's not ready but I am." I look down at my red knitted dress and shiny red flats.
"Ariel, after you get done, wear something nice. Okay? I want this party to go great." He smiles at her.
She rolls her eyes and look down mumbling to herself.
"What's wrong?" He asks pulling a chair out beside her and sitting down.
I've never told anyone this but, I think Trey is really hot. He kinda looks like Ariel, the brown skin color, the silky black and curly hair, the natural raspy voice. Their genes are fabulous.
"Nothing. I just want everything to be over with so I can hurry up and go to bed." She mumbles after forcing air into the balloon.
"You tired already?" He chuckles. "It's only five o'clock." He looks at his wrist.
"Yeah." She shrugs.
"Hopefully after this party, we'll have our own day together and I'll get to drive you where ever you want." He puts and arm around her neck and hugs her.
Such a sweet brother. Too bad he got a girlfriend... And I have a boyfriend...
"Thanks." She smiles.
"I know you've been going through some things... I know you're not a bad person. If you ever feel down, tell me." He smiles.
"What about me?" I chuckle.
They both look at me and chuckle softly and Trey puts his arm around my neck.
"You too." He smiles at me.
*Ding Dong*
Trey gets up from his seat quickly and fixes his collar.
"That must be some of the guests." He walked out of the dining room. "Ariel go upstairs and change your clothes." He called out from the living room.
Ariel quickly tied the balloon and got up from the chair.
"I'll be right back." She let the balloon go and quickly ran out of the dining room, leaving me by myself.

•Ariel's POV•
I sat on the couch in the living room with Nia, Latoya and Erica chatting and gossiping about things and dancing to the loud music coming from the living room.
Almost all the guests are here and we're waiting on Sabrina to come home from modeling so we can surprise her. It's just a few family and friends, not really a lot of people. Uncle Earl, Aunt Tay, a few little cousins, the Jackson family, Prince, André, Kaitlyn, Justice and Tracey. That's about it. I don't know why Sabrina wanted to invite those bitches. If they mess with any of us, we gonna be fighting, I don't care.
I sat between Latoya and Nia on the couch and Rebbie and Erica are sitting next to each other on the little part of the couch. We're in the living room that doesn't have a tv. We have two living rooms, one with a tv and one hat doesn't have one. The other living room is full of put family and friends and we decided to have a room ourselves to chat and gossip about things until the party really gets started.
Everyone is waiting on Sabrina to get home from modeling so we can jump out and surprise her. It's been an hour since we've been here and she better hurry up because I'm ready for bed. Prince isn't here yet either and it's making me impatient cause I miss him already.
"And so that's how I found out why Michael has been inviting Kaitlyn over our house a lot." Rebbie finished her story talking about Michael and Kaitlyn.
She told us that she asked Michael that why Kaitlyn always come over and spend the night over at the Jackson's house a lot and he said that Kaitlyn wants to spend more time with Michael before she leaves for her trip to New York for modeling.
"That doesn't mean she should be sleeping in the same room with him." Latoya looked at Rebbie disgusted. "I'm bout tired of seeing her in the house, I'm ready to move out and move here with you Ariel." Latoya muttered playing with her nails.
"I feel bad for y'all. You gotta deal with her living in your house." I chuckled softly. Does our parents say anything?" I asked Rebbie.
"They don't care, especially Joseph. He likes Kaitlyn and he's too nice to her." She mumbled looking down.
"Ugh. I wish he knew more about her." I rolled my eyes and crossed my leg.
"Joseph don't care if she's good or bad, so it wouldn't really make a difference." Latoya said still playing with her nails.
Erica turns towards me and starts to play with my necklace with a finger. She gasps and look at me with a smile.
"Where did you get this necklace from?" She asked.
I heard Latoya smack her teeth beside her. Latoya scoot forward in her seat and leans her head down to look at me.
"She got it from Prince." She said in a disgusted tone.
How come she always do that every time I talk about Prince? It's pretty annoying! I thought she liked me dating Prince and that we were cute.
"Prince? Oooh! This is cute." Erica cooed taking a closer look at the necklace.
"Omg that's totally horrible. Throw that necklace away honey, you don't need that." Nia told me crossing her arms.
I looked at all of them and find out that only Latoya and Nia are giving me dirty looks about the necklace making me feel uncomfortable.
"No. I want the necklace. Prince gave it to me so I'm going to keep it. It's a promise necklace." I frowned and pulled my necklace out of Erica's fingers and held the heart with my own two fingers.
"Promise to what? He ain't promising nothing!" Nia fake chuckled.
"Yes he is promising me something." I corrected her feeling irritated.
"I'm sorry Hun. You must dump him. You're too good for Prince." Nia put a hand on my back and shook her head a little bit.
"Yeah, it's pretty sweet that he promised you that he wouldn't break your heart but I really think you should be with someone else." Latoya said calmly looking me in the eye.
"Why do y'all think this way about him?" I asked looking at them confused but still irritated at the same time.
"He's going to break your heart Ariel. I'm trying to tell you but you won't listen to me." Nia pointed at her chest. "You're too good for him. Dump him. I'll find you a boyfriend."
"No!" I demanded. "You can't just assume he'll break my heart because you didn't have a good relationship with him."
"I didn't have a good relationship with him because he cheated on me. You're one of my best friends Ariel and I'm trying to keep you from getting your heart broken."
"Well, please stay out of my business. I'm not a baby." I crossed my arms and sat back on the couch.
"Okay." She rolled she eyes and looked away. "If he breaks your heart, don't tell me hat I didn't tell you." She muttered.
"And I don't want you dating him because, you'll be so much better with somebody else, like Michael." Latoya added.
"Listen. I don't want to be with Michael! He's a total dumbass!" I spat.
"One day he'll get some sense in his mind and realize that he should've been with you all along and never played you. He won't be a dumbass when you date him."
"I'm never going to date him! Okay? I'm with Prince and I'm happy with him." I got up from the couch quickly.
"You're not gonna be happy after he breaks your heart." Nia mumbled.
"You're happy with who?" I heard a familiar deep voice.
We all turned around and there stood William dressed innocent and nice in a black polar shirt and dark blue jeans. He smiled and winked at me and my heart start pounding out of my ribs as he got closer.
"Ooh. Who's this guy?" Rebbie cooed.
"Me?" William chuckles and points at his chest. "I'm her future boyfriend." He walks up to me and puts an arm around my waist.
"No I'm not!" I slapped him arm off me.
"Oooh! Ariel! You should be with him!" Nia cooed smiling brightly.
"No! Just stop! Please shut up! I begged her so she can be quiet.
"What's your name hotty?" Nia stood up from the couch.
"My name is William." He smiled innocently.
"William? Hm... You look familiar." I heard Latoya say.
"You must be Latoya. I'm Marcus' big brother and he talks about you all the time." William chuckles and winks.
"Ooh. Toy! Who's Marcus!" Nia cooed.
Latoya shook her head, "Nobody. Uh. He's my friend." She stuttered.
"Well anyways. I guess we found you a boyfriend Ariel. Why won't you dump Prince and be with William?" Nia exclaimed excitedly.
"No! I would never be with him!" I cried.
He puts his arm around my waist again and pulled me closer to him.
"Why not?" Nia made a puzzled face.
My blood begins to heat up as I stand there smelling William's cologne and tight around around my waist, knowing I'll probably get raped again soon.
I slapped his hand off me again and took a deep shaky breath. I grabbed Erica's hand and yanked her forward so that she can get up.
"C'mon Erica." I mumbled pulling her arm as she looked at me puzzled.
"Wait. Where are you going?!" I heard Nia shout from behind me as we walked away.
Erica followed me into the other living room, filled with some of our family and friends dancing to the music and some watching a football game on the big wide flat screen tv mounted on the wall.
*
"Happy Birthday to youuuu!!! Everyone finished singing the birthday song to Sabrina while the big cake, lit with sixteen candles sat there waiting for Sabrina to blow the candles out.
Everyone either sat on the table with empty paper plates in front of them or either surrounded the table standing up. People took some videos a pictures of Sabrina while we sang happy birthday to her.
Sabrina made a wish and blew the candles out, making a lot of smoke rush away and the room go dark. Everyone clapped and cheered for her and Trey turned the lights on.
"Can we open presents?" Sabrina asked Trey while he was walking back to where he was.
Trey chuckled, "Why can't you just wait until after everyone eats?"
She giggled, "I can't wait to open my presents. Let's do it now and then eat afterwards." She smirks and pushed the paper plate away from her.
"Okay." He nodded. "Who's present is going first?" He called out so that everyone can hear him.
"Me! Me!" I heard Kaitlyn's voice from the kitchen.
We all turned around and watch her rush into the dining room with a big square box covered in purple wrapper.
"Ooh. I wonder what this is." Sabrina cooed as Kaitlyn set it down carefully in front of Sabrina.
"Open it!" Kaitlyn exclaimed excitedly.
By the way they're smoking each other, I can tell that they're friends or something. I don't know... They probably are. She's always hanging out with Kaitlyn.
Sabrina slowly ripped the paper with her nails and it revealed in big letters, "MacBook Air" Everyone gasped and cooed watching her rip the wrapper more, showing the white box with a picture of a gray laptop on it. Sabrina opened her mouth widely looking down at the box. She looked back at Kaitlyn and hugged her really tight.
"Omg! Thank you Kaitlyn! You really didn't have to!" She exclaimed.
"I had to girl! You're my best friend!" Kaitlyn said hugging her.
"Best friend?" Latoya and I said together making disgusted faces at them.
Sabrina lets go of Kaitlyn and look back at us.
"Yes. Best friend. Why?" She looks at me up and down.
"Why would you be best friends with her? She's horrible." I cringed at Kaitlyn.
Kaitlyn gasped and out a hand over her chest.
I felt Latoya nudge me gently, I look at her and she mouthed, "Stop. Don't say anything bad to her. You'll make it worse."
"I'm not horrible. You're the one who's horrible. You always call me names and beat me up. You should stop."
"You should stop lying and get a life Kaitlyn." I crossed my arms.
"Hey, let's deal with this after the party." I heard Trey say behind me.
Kaitlyn looks at me with a suspicious and evil smile secretly and turn back around to Sabrina, admiring the present Kaitlyn have her.
Please lord give me strength not to kill somebody today.
"Who's next?" Sabrina calls out.
"I'll go next." Trey steps up in front of me and gave her a little box.
It wasn't wrapped up, it was just a little white box.
"You didn't wrap it up or anything?" Sabrina looks at Trey.
Trey shook his head, "No. I didn't have time. Just open it." He impatiently says.
Sabrina looks at the little white box and pulled the top off of it revealing what looks like keys and buttons for a car.
"W-What's this?" She picked up with keys with two fingers like if it was dirty or something.
"It's car keys. It's from Mama." He smiled at her. "Read the card in there." He pointed inside of the box.
She puts the keys down in the table and grabbed the white card out of the box. She opens it slowly and in cursive letters it reads, "Hey Sabrina. Sorry I can't be there for your birthday. I'm still in the hospital. Hopefully I'll get out soon. I've missed you and I've wanted you to come and see me but you never do. I think I didn't something wrong, did I? If I did, I'm so sorry and my gift to you is a Mercedes car. I know you've been dying for this car since you were little.. Well there you go. Happy birthday. -Mama."
Out of no where she starts screaming and kicking her legs under he table in excitement causing everyone to jump and cover their ears.
Why would she buy a car for her?
"Omg! Where's the car! Where's the car!" Sabrina rapidly hit Trey on his arm full of excitement while everyone laughed.
"It's coming some day. You won't have it today though." Trey calmly said chuckling.
"Aww man." Sabrina snapped her finger and chuckled
"Well.. Who's next?" Trey called.
I handed Sabrina the gift card I made for her.
"A gift card?" Her big smile turned into a frown.
"Yeah, I hope you like it." I say calmly.
She blinks and looks at the gift card blankly.
"You didn't wrap it up or anything. Is this all you have me?" She looks back at me.
"Yeah." I nodded slowly.
She sighs and opens it up slowly. I decorated the card with a lot of glitter and big cursive letters in my own pretty handwriting.
"Dear Sabrina." She reads out loud. "I love you so much. You can be a handful and get on my nerves everyday but I still love you. You're the best sister anyone can have. I wish i can spend more time with you but you're always busy and you never want to hang out with me. Love Ariel." She read like a robot, making me kinda feel embarrassed but everyone looks at me in awe.
"Awwww." Everyone coos.
Sabrina sighed loudly and close the card, setting it down on the table.
"So... Uh... No money or anything? Just a card?" She makes a grimace.
"Sorry... I don't have any money.. So I made that for you." My cheeks start to burn.
She stares at me in disbelief, making it an awkward silence in the house. She clenched her teeth and rolled her eyes, turning back around.
"Who's next?" She mumbled.
I clenched my fists, trying not to punch the shit out of her. I made a very good card and she doesn't appreciate it!
Out of no where, I decide to grab the card and squeeze it tightly in my fist and crumple it. Everyone looked at me shocked and gasped.
"There. Happy now? Since you don't like it, you'll never see it again." I ripped the paper aggressively and threw it at her face.
I felt Prince's hand touch my shoulder, I look back and he whispers, "Calm down baby."
"Very happy. You should actually buy something." She smiles and turn back around.
Everyone gasps again in disbelief.
What has gotten into her.
"Wow. That's your sister and you didn't even buy anything for her? She deserves better." Kaitlyn told me crossing her arms.
I felt Prince's presence behind me and he wraps his arms around me from behind and kiss my cheek.
"You okay?" He whispers in my ear.
"No." I mumbled.
"Calm down. Okay?" He said after gently pressing his lips on my cheek again.
"Who's next?" Sabrina says happily like nothing happened.
I heard Latoya take a deep breath as she puts a birthday bag in front of Sabrina on the table. Sabrina smiles brightly at Latoya and grabs the bag.
"You bought this for me?" She asks Latoya.
"Yeah." She says quietly and nodding.
She looks back at it and rips the paper slowly as everyone watched behind her. She rips it up more and push the paper to the side and stares at the picture. Everyone looks closely at the picture, framed in pretty purple glitter. It shows Latoya, Rebbie, Sabrina in I when we were younger. I chuckled softly, staring at myself with a face full of chocolate and messy hair and Sabrina beside me with no shirt on and chocolate all over her. Everyone starts to laugh and coo at the picture but Sabrina.
"Look. There's me." Rebbie pointed out on the picture.
"Haha. Sabrina you don't have a shirt on." Jason laughed at the picture.
Sabrina look back and gave Latoya a death stare while everyone start laughing. Latoya's smile turned into a frown looking at Sabrina's nasty attitude in her face. Sabrina doesn't like happy at all. She looks back at the picture and clench her fists.
"This is embarrassing! How can you embarrass me like that?!" Sabrina shouted looking back st Latoya again.
Everyone quiet down and looked at her in disbelief. The place grew silent and I heard some people mumble in their breath. Latoya grew a puzzled and disgusted look on her face.
"How is that embarrassing? It's cute." Latoya shrugged.
Sabrina got up out of her chair rudely bumped into us and slammed it against the table aggressively.
"It's embarrassing. This is the worst present ever. What the hell is wrong with you!" She clenched her fists and her eyes filed with rage.
"I've spent all my money to get that framed and you don't like it?! It was when we first met Sabrina!" Latoya shouted.
"I don't care when that was! This is embarrassing!" Her voice shook as she shouted. "Look! I'm not even wearing a shirt!"She punched her finger on the glass of the picture.
"You're so ungrateful." I spat.
I felt Prince hold onto me tighter.
"You shut up! This is non of your business!" Sabrina spat back putting her finger in my face.
"Hey! Stop it!" Trey got between us as some people left the dining room. "We can deal with this later!" He looks at Latoya, Sabrina and I.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed Prince's hand as I walked out of the dining room angrily.
I wish Sabrina was never born...
