Chapter 2

You're not gonna lie, it was a little hard to take care of Michael. He didn't like to obey and he never talked so it was hard to understand what he wanted and what he didn't want. But, so far so good; he hasn't hurt you yet. You were glad that he did obey on some things. If you had to give him his medicine you would have to be careful and make sure that you werent too close to him. Dr. Loomis said that Michael likes his space.

Today was no different. At least that is what you thought. You have been taking care of Michael for a few weeks now. Every time there would be a new nurse and they were to be assigned to take care of Michael, they would always scream and cry that they were scared and afraid of him. You did feel some empathy though. You couldn't imagine how Michael would feel everytime someone would scream at him saying that he was a beast or an animal. You thought it was rude of them, but you also understood. Nobody wants to take the opportunity to take care of a murderer. To take care of someone that doesn't think twice before they kill someone. Hell, you weren't immune to the feeling of fear. You understood completely that Michael can and will kill you once he has the chance.

But, you also understand that he is sick. He can't help the way he feels.

It was just the same routine, you get out of your car, walk up to the security say hello, walk to the receptionist say hello, and go through the many doors to get to where Michael is. You had walked up to his room and lightly knocked on the door like you always do. You didn't wait for a reply since you knew you weren't going to get on and so you walked in. You had Michaels meds in a small container and you brought some juice for him to drink the with. You had also grabbed him a small bagel for him to munch on.

Once you closed the door and was fully inside of Michaels room you turned around to see that Michael was making another design for another one of his mask. You smiled softly and desired his creativity. It is where he can escape. You cleared your throat and you heard Michael grunt, which was a sign of saying

"Yeah I know you're here." type of thing. You walked up to Michael as he was still scribbling away. You put the meds down and his juice and you waited until he slowly put his crayon down and he grabbed the juice. You told him to open his mouth and once he did you set the meds on his tongue and he drank some juice to swallow them. Now that he was finished with that you gave him the small bagel.

Usually once you do this, Michael will grab it and throw it across the room to glare at you. Usually that was when you would have to leave before he could try anything. But, today he didn't do that. Instead, he stared at you. You felt a little uncomfortable and didn't know what to do so you asked him what he wanted.

He blinked slowly and while he stared at you, he ripped the bagel in half. He then held up one half of the bagel to you. You were very confused at this point but you didn't want to second guess things and so you just grabbed the bagel and held it.

"Thank you?" You said and he grunted and went back to his scribbling while he chewed on the bagel. You felt a little bit of accomplishment and smiled. You turned to leave the room, but before you could open the door you heard a loud crash come from outside of the room and you seen blood splatter onto the small window of the door. Your eyes widened and you backed up from the door. You had your walkie talkie and you pressed the button to talk into it and you asked shakily what happened.

"One of the patients had gotten out of their room. Please don't move from where you are until we say it is safe."  You sucked in a deep breath and told them okay while you sighed out. You looked over at Michael and he was still scribbling at his paper. You sighed trying to relax. You heard Michaels crayon stop moving and you quickly looked over at him.

You really don't need him to start acting up now, not now, not when there is danger outside the door. You jumped and gasped when you heard someone bang on the door and you also heard laughter. You were sure that it was the escaped patient and so you started to rub your arms out of fear. You looked over at Michael to make sure that he was still in place and he was.

He was just staring at you.

You gulped and tried to smile to him but failed. You watched as Michael got up slowly from his seat like he always did and he towered over you. You started to breath fast and tried to hide it. You didn't want to seem weak in front of a very dangerous murderer. But, what you didn't expect was him grabbing one of his mask off the wall and almost  shyly offer it to you. You looked up at him and he still had that cold gaze of his but with something else in it.

Worry.

You gathered up the few confidence in yourself and gently grabbed the mask. You said thanks and tried to put it on. But it was a little hard since it was made out of paper mache. You tried to do it the third time but you were also having a small panic attack the more you failed. By the time you were about to give up, Michael had grabbed your hand to stop you. You looked up at him and he grabbed the mask. He had grabbed the small shoelace that was connected to the mask and he halfassly put it on you. You chuckled a bit as he tried to make the mask fit you. You stopped him and adjusted the mask to your liking. You looked up at him and said thanks.

He again, grunted and went back to scribbling at his paper.
