Telling Freddy about my day
"I am sorry to bother you Mrs Leeson but I'm afraid that I am once again having to report this camper's bad behavior. She has broken curfew, was alone on the docks and evidently thought it would be amusing to pretend to drown.
"She had the audacity to claim
that your daughter and her friends have been bullying her and that they held her under the water in an attempt to drown her."
"All she has done since she has arrived is continually test her limits. I am fairly certain that if we allow her to stay it will be only a matter of time before she breaks all of the camp rules. My recommendation is that she be expelled from the camp."
"She's obviously not mentally stable enough to be in this kind of environment." The councilor stated as she shoved me forward.
"Oh don't be silly. Why don't you leave her here with me for a little while and I am sure I can sort this out in no time. Now shoo!"
Mrs Leeson replied practically pushing the councilor out the door. "So Catherine, care to tell me what's going on?" Mrs Leeson asked barely looking up from her clipboard.
"The other kids were making fun of me."
"I see. So what did you do about it?" Mrs. Leeson asked.
"I walked away and found myself down by the lake. I liked the view so I sat at the edge of the dock looking out over the lake. Someone pushed me from behind and I fell in. When I tried surfacing someone held my head under the water."
"Then when the councilor arrived the other campers lied and said that I had been pretending to drown. It's like they'd made a game out of it. Let's see how much trouble we can get the freak into before she gets expelled from camp."
"Freak?"
"Yes. That's what the other campers have been calling me ever since I arrived."
"So what your saying is that the other campers have been bullying you?" Mrs Leeson replied with a frown. I didn't reply instead I just looked down at the floor and shuffled my feet. Mrs Leeson sighed "what's next? Are you going to tell me that you weren't the one who vandalized the shack in the woods?"
"That the campers lied about that too? You know Catherine it's not nice to tell lies. You need to own up to your actions and accept the consequences. Instead of trying to point the finger at someone else."
"Now I am willing to give you one more chance. If I hear that you've broken anymore camp rules I will have no choice but to expel you and ban you from ever attending this camp again. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes Ma'am."
"Now come with me. Boys and girls. I have an announcement to make. I am sad to say that one of your fellow campers has been testing the limits and has already broken all but one of camp rules."
"On top of that She has told numerous lies about other campers. Since we are a camp of second chances I am allowing her to stay."
"However, she is to be sent to solitary confinement for the rest of the week in cabin 66. That means that she will not be able to participate in the activities for the next few days."
"Let this be a warning to you all. I will not tolerate anyone breaking the rules. They will be punished according to their actions. Is that understood?" Mrs Leeson said through her bullhorn.
"Yes Mrs Leeson." The other campers replied in unison.
"Cabin 66? Isn't that the cabin that use to belong to Jason?" One of the campers whispered.
"I wouldn't want to be in her shoes right now. Legend says that Jason still haunts that cabin. I heard that he brutally murders anyone who dares step foot in there." Another camper whispered.
"Keep on the lookout for that freak of nature Jason."Another camper said with a laugh.
"Don't talk about Jason that way. He didn't deserve to be treated the way he was just because he was different. He wasn't a freak he was just unique in his own way."
"Just like a freak to defend someone as ugly as Jason was. Did you know that He went around camp wearing a potato sack on his head?"
"Yeah. Unfortunately, the potato sack wasn't much of an improvement. He was so ugly that his own mother was ashamed of him."
Suddenly out of what seemed like no where a strange lady appeared in front of us. She smiled at me and then turned and faced the kids a scowl on her face. "You shouldn't speak so disrespectfully of the dead. You kids need to change your ways or you are going to reap what you sow."
"Whatever! Tormenting this Freak is getting boring anyway. Come on girls let's get back to camp and leave the freak to her fate." Mrs Leeson's daughter said as she and the other campers turned and walked back down the trail.
The lady frowned and then muttered "Spoiled little brats!" Under her breath before turning her attention back to me.
"Sorry about that. It's just that, I've no respect for bullies. Those who impose their will. I've seen plenty enough to understand this kind of filth. I should have taught that dog a lesson in front of all of her friends."
"Dog? What dog? You mean Miss Leeson's daughter? That's not nice."
"You're right. I'm sorry. I should apologize to dogs that is, because calling that girl a dog is an insult to dogs." The lady states.
"Excuse me ma'am, believe me I mean no disrespect, but how are you behaving any different than they are?"
"Excuse me?" The lady said in irritation.
"You called those girls mean names behind their backs."
"It isn't mean if it's the truth."
"Didn't your parents ever teach you that if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all?"
"Let's change the subject. I know that you didn't desecrate the old shack. You shouldn't have to clean up someone else's mess."
"It's ok I don't mind."
"By the way, I heard the way you defend Jason. That was a very brave thing to do."
"As for those girls, they will get what they deserve and it will be sooner than they think. I should be going now."
"Wait. Before you go may I ask you something?"
"Of course Dear."
"Is the legend about this cabin true? Does Jason kill anyone he finds trespassing here?"
"Yes. However, I think for you he'd make an exception."
"Why?"
"Your different then the other campers. Your a very sweet, goodhearted and well behaved young lady. Perhaps that is all the reason he needs. Have a goodnight Dear and don't let those other campers get you down."
"You are not a freak. You are a very special, very unique, very talented and beautiful young lady. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise." With that the strange lady turned and disappeared into the darkness.
I sighed as I unfolded my sleeping bag. Maybe coming to camp was a bad idea after all. Kids were cruel. I wished Freddy was here he'd give those nasty campers their medicine for daring to make fun of me.
This thought made me smile and I drifted off to sleep hoping to dream about him. I sighed in disappointment when my wish didn't come true.
"Is something the matter child?" A floating skull asked appearing out of nowhere.
"I was hoping I could dream about my friend tonight. I always dream about him but he's not here."
"By any chance does your friend have the initials FK?"
"Yes."
"Perhaps we can help you. Do you truly want to dream about him?"
"More then anything."
"Then we shall give you the power to go to him no matter where you are." One of the skulls replied.
"You can do that?"
"Yes child after all, we are the ones who gave Freddy the power to enter people's dreams. We will make you a deal. Help Freddy collect souls and you can go to him anytime and from anywhere you want."
"Can I go there right now?"
"Yes. Just close your eyes and focus on where you want to be."
"I wish to be with Freddy." I replied closing my eyes once more and picturing his boiler room in my head and within seconds I was there.
"Princess what brings you here? I thought you were at Crystal lake?" Freddy said in surprise.
"I am."
"Then how???"
"We gave her the power to come to you whenever and from wherever she wants." The dream Demons replied.
At this, Freddy frowned "Catherine what have you done?"
"What's seems to be the problem Kruger? We thought you'd be happy." They whispered in his ear.
"Give it back." Freddy replied with a frown.
"Give what back?" One of the dream demons replied.
"Catherine's soul give it back. There is no way that she knew that in making a deal with you that she's loose her soul."
"I thought you said it wouldn't cost me anything to be able to be with him whenever I wanted?" I asked confused.
"Making a deal with them always comes at a cost Catherine." Freddy replied with a sad sigh.
"Nonsense. We saw how unhappy she was and we wanted to cheer her up. This ability has no strings attached. It's our gift to you for a job well done."'
"I don't believe you." Freddy replied.
"Have we ever lied to you?"
"Well, no but..."
"Then what makes you think we'd start now? We swear on all the souls you've captured that this gift has cost and will cost Catherine absolutely nothing. Enjoy your night." With that the dream demons disappeared.
"So, how Is my princess enjoying her stay at camp?"
"I'm not enjoying it."
Freddy's smile disappeared. "Why not?"
"The kids are mean." I replied as I finally allowed myself to cry.
"What did they do to you?" Freddy demanded with a frown.
"They made fun of me and some of them tried to drown me."
"They WHAT?" Freddy growled slashing a nearby pipe in anger.
"They tried to drown me. They would have succeeded if it hadn't been for that man in the hockey mask."
"Did you say hockey mask?" Freddy replied freezing in his tracks.
"Yes."
"🤬!" Freddy replied with a frown.'
"Daddy what's wrong?"
"That man in the hockey mask is very dangerous. If you see him again run." Freddy replied.
"If he's dangerous then why did he save my life?"
"I don't know what made him save your life. It's not like him at all." Freddy replied.
"The man in the hockey mask is Jason isn't he?"
"Yes Cathrine and unlike me, he won't hesitate to kill you." Freddy replied.
"I met a strange lady today. She assured me that Jason wouldn't kill me. She said I was far to sweet and innocent to kill."
"Did this lady have a name?"
"I think she said her name was Pamala. Why? Is she someone bad?"
"It depends. If she's who I think she is then yes, she can be just as dangerous as Jason." Freddy replied.
"Who is she?"
"Jason's mother. She controls everything Jason does. I found this out and so a few years ago, I pretended to be her in order to manipulate him into killing for me. Unfortunately, I didn't count on his blood lust. He wouldn't stop killing so I had to put him in his place. We wound up fighting and ultimately there was no winner."
"That's why he and I don't get along and why I was so concerned when I learned you were going to be staying at his camp. Catherine, Jason and Pamala's behavior is odd I need for you to tell me about everything that happened today."
"As I said some of the campers were bullying me calling me names like freak. They pushed me into the lake and then they took turns holding me under the water until I almost drowned."
"When I started sinking that's when he appeared and propelled me out of the water and onto the dock. Earlier in the day the very same campers were vandalizing a small shack in the woods."
"Inside the shack was an alter set up as a memorial to someone. I convinced the other campers to leave the shack alone. Then I cleaned up the mess reset up the memorial and prayed for the person it was for and for their family."
"I apologized for the damage that the other campers had done and for their inconsiderate behavior and promised that I would try and keep the other campers away from that place. That I would spend the rest of my stay at camp trying to repair the damage that they had done including removing all of the other campers so called artwork."
"That's why I love you Princess. You are so sweet and innocent. That shack was built by Jason."
"So then the memorial..."
"Is the one Jason made for his mother."
"You are certain this Lady said that Jason wouldn't kill you?"
"Well not in those exact words." I replied hesitantly.
"Tell me what she said word for word." Freddy replied worry etched on his face.
"I asked her if the legend that Jason kills anyone who trespasses in the cabin where I am stay was true. She said yes but that I shouldn't worry about Jason killing me. I asked her why and she replied that I was different then the other campers."
"She said that I was a very sweet innocent, goodhearted young lady and perhaps that's all the reason he would need. She also told me not to let what the other kids said about me get me down."
"That I wasn't a freak and repeated what she had said when we first met. That I am a very sweet, very unique, very special, very talented and very beautiful young lady. That I should never let anyone tell me any different. Then she wished me good night and disappeared."
"Hmmm. This is not good. Not good at all."
"What's not good daddy?"
"Never mind. Hell will freeze over before I ever allow that to happen." Freddy replied with a frown his eyes flashing in anger. "Catherine, I want you to listen to me. You are in more danger now then you ever were before. You need to leave the camp Catherine. Tonight."
"I can't. I don't know where to go. I'll get lost." I replied and Freddy sighed.
"Your right. Hopefully, I am wrong."
"Wrong about what Freddy?" Freddy frowned and growled slightly and my eyes went wide as I realized what I had done. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean too. Please don't be mad at me daddy."
Freddy smiled and stroked my cheek and sighed. "I can never stay mad at you Kitten.
As for your question I'm concerned that Pamala might want you to be Jason's girl."
"What do you mean be Jason's girl?" I asked confused and Freddy chuckled.
"You really are as innocent and as pure as a small child aren't you? She might think that your the perfect match for her Jason."
"Woah, woah, woah wait a minute. Match? As in wife?" Freddy nodded and I shook my head.
"Oh no. No, no, no. This can't be happening."
Freddy sighed "I'm afraid it is Kitten."
"What am I going to do? I can't marry him! He's dead!" At this, Freddy chuckled "that hasn't stopped you from having a crush on me. From what the author told me you have a crush on Jason." Freddy replied with a slight growl tapping his razor glove on the nearby pipes in irritation."
"A crush on Jason? I don't have a crush on Jason. He's a freakin zombie." At this I felt the sting of Freddy's hand across my face.
"Watch your language young lady! Don't you dare try denying that you like him!" Freddy replied throwing me up against the wall and then picking me up so I was dangling in his hands. His left hand wrapped tightly across my neck while he traced his gloved hand down the side of my face and other areas of my body.
"Daddy... Please...." I whimpered but Freddy wagged his one of his knifed fingers in front of my face.
"No, no Kitten I don't want to hear a sound out of you. You've been a bad girl and you need to be punished." Freddy replied snapping his fingers causing a belt to appear.
I whimpered at the sight of it. Freddy's eyes sparkled in delight and he smiled as he breathed in the sent of my fear. He loved to hear my whimpers they were music to his ears.
