Accused of Murder

Someone had heard the commotion at our house and had called the police. I knew that I couldn't hide from Michael and I didn't really want too. He was my big brother no matter what he did to me I would always love him. I closed my eyes waiting for the inevitable.

Awaiting the fatal stab wound that would end my life but to my surprise, it never came. After a few minutes I realized that he hadn't attacked me so I looked up at him in confusion.

Michael was standing over me holding the knife in the air his hand trembling. He seemed to be fighting with himself. "NO!" He growled lowering the knife and tossing it a few yards away from me.

Upon hearing the sound of sirens Michael snapped out of his daze and glared at me his eyes flashing in anger. Grabbing the knife he stabbed me in the me in my right shoulder and my left leg. When I opened them again he was gone.

Tears filled my eyes. Not for my so called mother or her new boyfriend but because of the thought of possibly never seeing Michael again.

A few minutes later, the police arrived and the bodies were carried out. " Is there anyone else in the house?" An Officer asked.

"Not that we noticed why?"

"The couple had two daughters. One is at a friends house and will be arriving shortly along with the owner of the home but the youngest daughter was supposed to be home. Search the house. Hopefully whoever did this didn't kidnap her or kill her."

A few minutes later, an officer found me hiding in the fake closet. "We found her sir. She is a little shaken up but she seems to be ok. I tried to get her to give me a statement but She seems to be in the mindset of a toddler sir." An Officer said to his partner.

"Hello. Can you tell me your name little one?"

I shake my head no. "Daddy said nu posed to talk to stweangeas."

At this the officers chuckle in amusement. "My name is Officer Jones and this is my partner Officer Hancock and that is our commanding officer Officer Jongular. I'm sure your father told you that it was ok to talk to the police didn't he?"

"Me want me daddy."

"He's on his way but in the meantime, why don't we talk about what happened tonight ok?"

"A stwange man in blue obewalls and a white mask came into the house and made the bad man and mean lady go bye bye. Me think him was gonna make me go bye bye too but him didn't. Me don't know why. Him left when he heawed the loud siwen." I replied quietly.

As the emergency response team took care of my injuries the officer who had found me turned to the officer in charge. "She's lying sir."

"What makes you think that?"

"Because sir, according to the adoption records I found in the study she's the biological sister of the mass murderer Michael Myers."

"These injuries could very well have been self inflicted in an effort to throw suspicion off herself. As could her childish behavior." The officer whispered in his partner's ear.

The officer nodded and then placed handcuffs on me. "I am going to have to place you under arrest for the murder of your parents."

"But... Me didn't.... Me want my daddy and sissy." I cried tearfully causing the officers to look at each other and frown.

"Catherine, thank God your alright. I just heard the news. Are you alright?" She frowned as she watched the officers try and place me in the patrol car. "Why are you arresting my Baby sister?" Charity demanded emphasizing the word baby.

"Ma'am are you aware that your sister is the sibling of convicted mass murder Michael Myers?" The officer asked.

"How did you know my baby sister's biological last name?"

"Excuse me?"

"How did you know my baby sister's biological last name? If I'm not mistaken adoption records are supposed to be sealed so how did you find out her last biological name?"

"We found documents in your father's..."

"Step father."

"In your Step father's office pertaining to her adoption."

"Did you have a warrant to search our house?"

"Well, No..." The officer replied shifting his feet nervously.

"Did you read her, her Maranda rights?"

The officer rubbed the back of his neck. "Of course we did...."

"Why don't I believe you?"

"Listen young lady if you don't back off I will place you under arrest for impeding an official investigation."

"Your sister is the sole suspect in the brutal murders of your mother and father." The officer replied.

"That man wasn't our father. He was my mother's new play toy. She had a lot of those. Some of them were the jealous type."

"What about the surveillance cameras did you even bother to check them?"

"Not yet. Listen, it is evident that due to witnessing your mother and her boyfriend's murders that she has had a mental breakdown."

"It is in the best interest of all parties involved for her to be sent to a sanitarium.. This should help determine just how damaging this event has been to her psychologically." The officer replied.

"Excuse me, but can someone please explain to me what the hell is going on here?" Our step father demanded walking up to the house.

"Sir, I'm afraid that your wife and a young man were found brutally murdered this evening.

"Where is Catherine? Is she ok?"

"You were just informed that your wife and a young man have been brutally murdered and your only concern is your daughter?"The officer replies with a slight frown.

"As a parent Catherine and Charity's wellbeing are always my number one concern."

"Miss Myers is showing signs of being mentally unstable. We are having her sent to the nearest sanitarium for evaluation. Perhaps, they can help her to return to some kind of normalcy." The officer replies.

"How did you know my daughter's biological last name?"

"We ummm. I recognized her from the book that doctor wrote. The Devil's eyes and it's sequel The Devil walks among us. There's a picture of her in there."

"That's not what you told me earlier. You said that you had read the private documents that were in the office." Charity replied.

"Where will you be sending her?"

"The nearest facility that deals with this type of trauma is in Springwood." The officer replied.

"That facility is for permanent residents." My step father said with a frown.

"You are not sending my daughter to some looney bin!"

"Your daughter is what? 18? 19? Care to explain why is she acting like a toddler? That's not exactly normal teenage behavior."

"My daughter has always stood out from the crowd. So she's not out drinking, doing drugs or sleeping around. That doesn't mean that she's mentally unstable."

"I see no reason why you need to send her to the institution. You can give her the sanity test here and now."

"Unfortunately, we are not medically qualified to give such as test."

"Believe me this is far from over! My step father sighs irritatedly then turns his attention back to Charity.

"Charity, you may remain in my household or you can return to living with your father."

"I'll return to my father's house if it's all the same to you."

I cried the entire way to the mental hospital. Why hadn't daddy tried to stop them from taking me away? Did he not love me anymore?
