We've probably all read at least a little bit of an adoption fanfiction. They normally go something kinda like this:

Hey, my name is Cassandra Valentine, and I'm in an adoption place in America. I'm the smallest kid here, and I always get bullied by all the other girls. I just don't understand why they don't like me ...

So one day, whilst I'm eating my breakfast, the biggest bully Elouise comes over to me and starts hitting me. "Hey, little bitch," she laughs, pouring my breakfast cereal down my clothes.

"Girls!" Mrs Finnegan, the owner of the place shouts, "We have a special visitor coming today to adopt one of you. He'll be here shortly."

Oh I wonder who this guest could be? And who will he adopt? It certainty won't be me cos I'm the smallest and the weakest girl here. Nobody wants me for sure.

Then the front door opens, and in comes no other than the Michael Jackson. Yes! The Michael Jackson!

"Hey Mrs Finnegan," he says to Mrs Finnegan, shaking her hand.

Mrs Finnegan doesn't even get excited over the fact that Michael Jackson is in her building. No. Instead she nods and says "Pick one girl to take with you" and points at all of us.

Of course Elouise has to get in his face like "Pick me Michael pick me!" But then Michael looks at me and smiles.

"I'll have her," he decides, walking over to me and lifting me up in his arms, "What's her name?"

"That's Cassandra. She's the smallest and the weakest. Are you sure you want her?" Mrs Finnegan asks.

Michael nods, kissing my forehead, "Yes I want her."

*10 years later*

Life with Michael has been great so far. It couldn't possibly get better if it tried.

"Cassandra I have something I want to tell you," Michael tells me.

"What Michael?" I ask, sitting down with him.

"Cassie, I'm your real dad," he admits.

Wow, Michael Jackson's really my dad. That's crazy.

Okayyyyy ... you get the picture.

Adoption stories. Oh, what a lovely idea. To be fair, having Michael in an adoption story is adorable, because it's a well known fact that he loves children.

However, they all seem to have similar storylines ... don't they?

The weakest, smallest girl is always chosen by Michael ... but why? Yes, she may be the cutest, but because of her weakness, wouldn't she be more difficult for poor Michael to take care of? Yes, I think she would.

And there's always a bully in the care home. What's that about? I mean, every story ever created has a bad person, but why does it always have to be another girl from the adoption place, that feels the need to bully the main character?

Then we move on to the "Ten years later" part. That's fine, because it shows time has passed since Michael adopted Cassandra.

What irks me, however, is that Michael seems to tell his adopted daughter that he's her long-lost father, and she's totally fine with it.

Whereas in reality, the King of Pop wouldn't really be able to hide the fact they've got a kid, put it up for adoption, then adopted it again, and lived with it for ten years without the media finding out and spreading that. Cassandra would have clicked on before he told her.

It's either, Michael's the real daddy, or – which in my opinion is worse – Michael and his adopted daughter become a couple.

Okay ... I swear that isn't even legal!

When you adopt a child, it normally becomes exactly that – your child. In ten years' time, when they've grown up into a young adult, yes, they may suddenly be attractive to you, but you're their legal parent, so you would NOT start a relationship with your own child.

It's just kinda wrong. Like, even if it wasn't wrong, that's like a thirty year age gap between you. I know they say that age is just a number, but gosh.

Not with your adopted daughter eh, Mike? Good boy. 😌

And Cassandra? Whether you find out Michael's your real daddy, or he has a crush on you, react the realistic way, will you? Cheers. 👍🏻

Rant over. Peace. ✌🏻️
