Charlie's Birthday

Charlie Buckett rises up to get ready for the day bright and early. He puts on his best outfit for his birthday. And keeps the change in his pocket. Charlie runs down stairs in a hurry. And his mother stops him in his tracks. "Where do you think your going to? You don't go to school today it's the weekend." His mother says. "I intended to go to the candy store today. It's down the street can I go mother?" His mother chuckles at him. "After you finished your breakfast." His mother set the table for breakfast. And she made a special pancake with frosting and one candle on top. "Happy birthday Charlie." She chimed kissing his cheek. He was surprised by the birthday breakfast he got. His grandparents sings happy birthday. Charlie makes a wish and then blows out the candle. He shoves the food down as fast as he could so he can make his way to the candy store. "When you go out don't forget your coat. It's chilly out side." Charlie wipes his face takes the coat from the coat hanger and hurries outside. Charlie is outside as the cold wind blows in his face. He puts his hoodie up to block the cool breeze. Charlie finally makes it to the candy shop. He sees the Michael Wonka chocolate bars displayed neatly on the shelf's. He over hears customers talking about the golden tickets. "Ha that golden ticket, it's just a scam so he can get people to buy his candy. What a jerk. It's like buying a lottery ticket and never win any money." The guy protest. He sees other children scrambling to get their hands on all of the chocolate bars to see if they can find a golden ticket. Charlie wishes he can buy as many as possible. But he only has 50 cents in his pocket. So he buys one candy bar that cost 25 cents. And he'll save the other quarter for later. He picks the candy bar and goes to the register. The cashier smiled at Charlie as he hands him the 25 cents. "Good luck finding the golden ticket. You'll need it." Charlie grins back. "Thank you." He doesn't open the chocolate bar until he gets home. Charlie went down stairs to visit his grandpa Joe and told him he bought the candy bar. And ask him to open the candy bar with him. Grandpa Joe was wishful that Charlie would find the ticket. "Ok we'll open it on 3..." "1...2....3..." they both unwrapped the candy bar and they find nothing. He looks at grandpa Joe disappointed. "Tough luck. Maybe next time Charlie." Charlie breaks apart the candy bar and shared it amongst his other grandparents. Charlie turns on the tv to keep up with the updates on who found the golden ticket. "The first golden ticket is found by Veruca Salt. Veruca how does it feel to be the first golden ticket finder?" She holds the golden ticket in the air for all of the world to see. "It feels great. I did everything I can to find it." The cameras face to Mr. And Mrs Salt. "yes uhhh my daughter has begged me and begged me to by as many chocolate boxes as I can. She really deserves it. And my little girl is happy." He says putting his hand on his daughters shoulder proudly. "Daddy I want another pony." She says smiling and giving her dad those big sparkling eyes. "Sweet heart you've got 2 already. Maybe you should wait." He says calmly. "No I want one now! And it has to be a white horse!" She says in a demanding  way. "What a spoiled little brat." Grandpa Joe added. "There's only 4 tickets left. What if I don't get it. They could be any where in the world." Charlie says worried. "Don't worry you'll find one." Grandpa Joe assures. The TV screen shows a man whispering into the little girls ears about the secret of the chocolate recipe to see if she'll give it to him. And then he walks off. It's a test set up by Michael to see if these kids can be trusted. "Next up is Mike TV. Man these golden tickets are going fast. Hey Mike TV? How did you find the golden ticket?" Mike is to busy playing his video games. His father interjects. "Well uhh we didn't even want to look for a golden ticket we just found it. I'm forcing my kid to go with me to get him off of those video games. I mean. That's all he does." Mike tv is clicking and pressing buttons. "Die! Die! Die!" He shouts at the tv screen. "How does it feel to find the golden ticket Mike?" He thinks for a while. " I don't know.... Good I guess...." His father rolls his eyes watching him playing the game. And then Charlie turns off the tv.
