Reader's POV:

I set down my coffee looking around the mall. My best friend, James who I also call Wag on the occasion, sits next to me with a tired and annoyed expression on his face.

"Can we go home yet? We both know you will never find a girl for me. I'm me!" For the past three months I have decided to play matchmaker for him. A month before I started he broke up with his previous girlfriend, Kelsey, which had lasted for two years at the time. He was heartbroken and my goal was to find him a new love of his life.

"No! I will find you one and- Oooh how about that one over there? She is cute." I point to a short girl with short blonde hair. Her brown square glasses sit on her tiny nose. Wag shakes his head and I sigh in disappointment.

"(Y/N) give up already. It's hope-" Right before a he can finish his sentence, a peppy girl with bright red hair walks towards him.

"Gotta Zayn," I say, walking over to the long line for Starbucks. I needed some iced tea anyway, so this was perfect timing.

The girl says something to him and they shake hands. She sits down next to him. After I order my tea I see they are still talking. I sit there half watching, half scrolling through Twitter. After they finish talking Wag walks over to me with a small smile.

"We are going to the movies tomorrow!" he says excited. I smile and throw my empty cup away.

"That's great! What's her name?"

"Amanda. She's my age and a bit nerdy."

"I told you all of my hard work will  pay off." I said to him. He gives me a smirk and punches my shoulder. We walk out of the mall planning on what he should wear and do.

I open the door to our shared house along with another one of our friends, Austin. The three of us have known each other since Austin moved to England from Sweden back in middle school. Both of the boys have stuck to me like glue and I would consider them brothers more then best friends.

"Austin my plan worked again!" I shouted as I walked in the door. He looks up at me from watching Big Bang Theory and eating the last bag of Doritos. I give him a stern look as I eye the chips.

"I'll buy you more sister (Y/N). You're plan worked for Wag over there like it did for me?" I nod my head. I tested out my skills with Austin last year. He met his awesome girlfriend, Lauryn, because of me. They have been together for about seven months I believe. They are so freaking cute together though.

The next day I help James pick out his outfit and prepare him on what to do. He is wearing a nice black and grey t-shirt with jeans. Not too casual but not too fancy. I fix his hair one last time before I send him off.

"Have fun, don't make babies, and be safe," I say as I hug him before he walks out the door.

He laughs in response. "I won't (Y/N), but who could resist these looks though." I giggle in response and push him out the door. It's true though, he had abs like you could only imagine. Only that day I didn't know that I had possibly made the worst choice of my life: letting him go on that date.

For the next six months we separated more apart. Every time I knew he was with her or he talked about her I had a fiery hatred that only grew. First it was only a tiny spark. Next it grew more and more until it was like a bonfire. I didn't realize what was happening at first. But I finally figured out after a while: I loved Wag.

During those months I would normally cherish in my heart the moments we had together where it was just us. Insomnia for Mianite, days at the mall, video games at home, things like that. I loved those moments more then ever.

I sat on the couch bundled up in a pile of blankets binge watching Sword Art Online. Austin was back in Sweden visiting family for his first cousin's wedding. James was out with Amanda again.

I call Austin saying everything I have felt for a long time. He laughs a bit.

"(Y/N/N), it's ok. Maybe this time she isn't cut out for him or the other way around. But I know he would date you though. You're a great person and he probably talks about you more then Amanda to be honest. It may happen one day. Trust me." Suddenly in the background there is a loud smashing sound followed by another. "Uhhh I have to go. My little cousins are deciding to smash all the plates. Bye. ANNA- " I sigh and repeat those words in my head. It could happen. Only a miracle it could be though.

The door opens and I see a kind of upset Wag walk through the door. Out of natural instinct, I walk over to him straight away and hug him. He hugs back and lays his head on top of mine, being taller and all.

"Dude what happened?" I asked worried. Normally you don't see Wag upset unless something really bad happened. Other then that he's a pretty happy guy.

"Amanda broke up with me. I need to talk to you though." I stare up at him in confusion.

"Yes?"

"Well the reason she broke up with me is because apparently 'I talk about (Y/N) so much.' She got jealous and said that if I mention how amazing and great she is so much then I should just date her. So I'm listening to that."

I look up at him in shock as he looks at me worried a bit. He closes my mouth and laughs a bit. "I- Uh- Er- Wouldn't want to be catching flies." He laughs and ruffles my hair.

"Actually, the break up happened a month ago. That's why I haven't been going out that much lately. If I am then I'm normally going somewhere or taking a drive."

Once again my mouth drops open. He snickers and throws a starburst into my mouth that we have in a bowl left by the front door from Halloween. I chew it and nod towards him. He nods back at me. I giggle and look back up at the beautiful face that is James'. Also who apparently wants to date me.

I finish chewing the yellow starburst. "So when's that first date I am anxiously waiting?" He smiles and picks me up and throws me over his shoulder.

"Now works," he says. I get plopped down on the couch before he does. Immediately I snuggle into his arms as we share the blanket.

"You know... we can do whatever we want right now," he says smirking. I lightly hit him on the arm.

"James Hayes! No!" He laughs and kisses the top of my head, making my face red and butterflies fill my stomach.

"Just kidding. Unless you want to."

"JAMES!"

That was actually fun to write. Also, this was my first time writing a Person x Reader one so I'm sorry if it turned out crappy. But what other things can a girl do at almost 1am on a Saturday night? ...I don't sleep much ok.
