Chapter 45: Tom is So Jelly.
Am I doing this correctly?" He whispered to me. He sat up with neat posture on the grass, his poetry book in his hands.
"Yeah, you're doing great! Just keep calm okay? He gets a little...scary when he's angry."
"I do hope he doesn't harm me...that would be most unfortunate."
"Don't worry I won't let him. Oh! Here he comes! Act natural!"
So Andor was cool with the whole plan on making Tom jealous. He actually claimed that it would be kind of fun, and maybe it would. I liked messing with Tom.
Our plan was to do anything and everything to make Tom feel like Andor liked me. And for me to be completely oblivious to it.
The door to the tree house creaked open, and Tom walked outside.
Andor began reciting love poems from his book, staring at me admiringly as he did. I just smiled shyly and leaned my head on my hands, my legs crossed on the grass.
"For love is a feeling that we cling to, to convince ourselves of happiness and enjoyment to be with one another. If one were to experience this feeling of lust, then you must truly be connected with your other half." He winked at me quickly, and then flipped a page in his book.
I almost burst out in giggles from this gesture. I managed to hold it in with an even bigger smile on my face.
"So...you got your wings Andor?" Tom voice chimed in. His tone was tight, as if he were trying to hold back anger. He was trying to ignore the fact that Andor just hit on me.
"Yes! And they are truly wonderful, all thanks to this kind hearted and beloved hero. I cannot stop thanking him for all that he's done for me. He is truly my savior, the one I value most. Would you like to join us in the poetry session?"
"I think I'll pass," Tom replied gritting his teeth.
"Oh well. Let me start again Jordan. " he cleared his throat before starting again.
"Lovers and partners do not always last for centuries. Eventually, hate or a stronger love for another being can break the special bond between souls that are in love. Another love will bloom, leaving the other a lost soul. Like a cold dead corpse, it stays alone." Andor glanced at me, his eyes full of 'lust'.
I could practically feel Toms gaze burning holes into Andor's head. I had to hold my breath so I wouldn't laugh, Andor is the greatest actor I've ever met.
Tom stomped back into the tree, slamming the door behind him.
Once I was sure he was out of ears reach, I lost it. I muffled my loud laughs with my hand, while Andor shushed me with a huge grin on his face.
"Did I do well, Jordan?" He laughed.
"You did too well! My god, was that dead corpse thing in the book?!" I laughed at the irony.
Tom was similar to a dead corpse, being a zombie, which made it all the more funnier.
"I may have made a few things up, just for effect," he grinned.
"Thanks so much dude, I didn't think it would work that well," I chuckled.
"Oh I'm sure we can do much better than that, just you wait. He will be begging for your utmost attention when we are done."
"I can't wait to see what you have planned," I grinned evilly.
~
"So nice that you could join us for dinner Tom," I said sarcastically.
"Yeah well I had things to do earlier, so shut up." He continued to devour his spaghetti, not paying attention to me.
"Jordan? We don't have any more plates. Would you like me to eat out of the pot?" Andor asked, digging through the kitchen cabinets.
"No! Why would I let you do that? Just share a plate with me dude, it's just spaghetti."
Andor and I had been waiting to do this little act all day. We had purposely gotten all the dishes dirty just for this.
"Oh alright. Should I sit beside you then?" He asked innocently.
I smiled like an oblivious idiot and patted the seat beside me. "Sure dude!"
He sat in the chair beside me and we began to eat the plate of spaghetti together. We couldn't make it too obvious, so we had to wait a bit before we actual did the thing.
"So, have you talked to Steve any today?" I asked Tom, not paying attention to Andor's lingering gaze on my mouth.
"...no. I haven't." He stared at Andor like he wanted to beat the crap out of him.
"Oh. So what have you been doing all day?"
"Well, I've been trying to-"
Andor interrupted him, as planned.
"Has anyone ever told you, that you show a strong comparison to William ShakesSphere?" Andor asked, still gazing deep into my eyes.
"Uh nah I don't think so. Do I look like him?" I asked curious.
"Absolutely! Your cheekbones and lips are spot on to his! Your eyes too, so blue and mysterious..."
"Well, thanks! No one has complimented my lips or eyes before, a little odd to be honest."
"Heh...yeah. I'm sorry Thomas I interrupted you, what were you saying?"
Toms face was a light shade of red now. His jaw was clenched together as if he were purposely trying to break his teeth.
"I was saying...I've been trying to clean up the room you trashed up. There was broken glass everywhere. We could've gotten seriously hurt." He put extra emphasis on the 'we'.
"Yes I'm sorry," he mumbled, still only paying attention to me.
It was time to do the main event of the plan.
Andor snapped out of his gaze and began to pick up a bit of spaghetti, and I had already had some on my fork.
I took a bite and he followed moments after. I hope this works.
And it did.
There was one string of spaghetti connected to both of our mouths. Which was extremely awkward for me, but I didn't show it. I just smiled sheepishly at Andor, he smiled back but with complete and utter lust in his eyes.
"ALRIGHT! IM DONE WITH THIS SHIT!"
He raised up from his seat and smacked Andor in the face as hard as he could. Andor fell backwards out of his chair and into the floor. Tom jumped over to the other side of the table and grabbed the front of Andor's shirt.
"Tom stop! It's a prank! It's just a prank!"
I pulled his hand away from poor Andor and swung him around to face me.
"What do you mean it's a freaking prank?!" He yelled at me.
"I was trying to make you jealous! Andor didn't do anything wrong! I wanted him to help me!"
"Why would you want to make me jealous?" His voice lowered.
"Because you were mad at me! I thought maybe you'd appreciate me more if I did this..."
"I'm just going to...yeah." Andor picked himself up and walked out he front door in a rush.
Silence filled the room. I stared at the floor awkwardly, avoiding his gaze.
I heard him sigh. He's really angry I guess...
I felt his hands go on my shoulders and I looked up at him.
He had a solemn expression on his face.
"Sparklez...you know I love you right? With every inch of my being? When I get mad at you, it's most likely because I'm being an ignorant jerk. I've been thinking it over and I realize it wasn't really fair to you that I would get mad over something so stupid...I just really really love you and I thought it was time to do that kind of stuff with you. I should have asked you about it first I guess. If you don't want to get intimate, then it's fine. I'm not gonna badger you about it anymore."
"Thank you. I want to someday, but not yet. Sorry about the whole Andor thing."
"It's fine. I probably would've done the same thing. Andor is probably terrified of me now..." He laughed.
"I probably shouldn't have gotten him involved, we should go apologize to him."
~
We walked out of the tree, in search of where Andor had gone. We found him quickly, he was standing by the lake. He didn't seem to hear us when we opened and closed the door, because he payed no attention to it.
"Hey Andor!" I greeted him as we walked up towards the lake.
He didn't respond. He was lost in whatever was across the lake.
My eyes searched in what could be making him act like this, and then they caught sight if the town.
It was destroyed, to say the least.
The buildings had crumbled to the ground. The walls had broken down by the taint, because taint makes stone and wood weak and unstable. The main ship had holes in it, from where I rebelled against the town a while back.
The water surrounding the place wasn't crystal clear like before, it was a muddy looking brown color. The grass was dead, all nature had left from the island it stood on. Not a single person could be seen. It was a ghost town.
"The place where my childhood was spent, my family was created, Ianite originated from, gone. Like it is nothing. How am I to rule a kingdom that is nothing? This town is deserted, no one wishes to live here anymore. It is now...a memory. A memory filled with happiness and...love." He looked away from the sight, and at his reflection in the water. He sniffled and shook his head.
"I am weak. I have always been weak. Why do they not understand this? If I were to rule, even a single citizen, I would get them killed. I cannot protect what I love. I cannot even protect myself..."
"Don't be so hard on yourself dude. Kingdoms don't always need buff guys to rule, they need smart peeps too," Tom tried to lighten the mood.
"You'd be a great ruler! You know what's balanced and what's not, isn't that all you need to be a king?" I tried to convince him.
"I suppose..." He sighed. He still didn't seem convinced.
"Um...I just wanted to say sorry about the whole slapping you thing. I didn't realize you guys were planking me I should've slapped Sparklez instead. You okay man?" Tom asked.
"I just need to rest...I'm so very tired. I haven't slept properly in a long time. I accept your apology, I'm going to go try and get some rest, I will see you both tomorrow."
