Chapter 35: Franklin the Transparent Pig.

Jordan's p.o.v.

"Okay so...drop of luck...that should be it..."
I emptied a tiny drop of gold liquid from the brown bottle into the caldron.
A tiny sizzling could be heard a the potion began to form.
I pulled out an empty glass bottle and carefully dipped it into the caldron, collecting the potion.

I had been trying to form a certain spell all day, but I ultimately failed twice. This was my third try in attempting this spell, and I didn't to have the time or will to try again.
I walked into my golden chalked circle and pulled the cork from the potion jar. I began to slowly tilt the bottle trying my hardest not to-

"Whatcha doin?!" I heard a female voice in my ear.

I jumped and almost dropped the jar, but caught it just in time.
I spun around to meet a pair of light purple eyes staring back at mine.

"Doing a spell....you scared the mana out of me..."

Ianite giggled at my reaction.

"What exact spell are you attempting?"

"I'm not sure what it does...but I'm pretty sure it does something awesome."

"May I observe? I love watching you cast spells!"

"The last time you watched me cast a spell, I almost died from the explosion."

"Oh I'm sure this one will turn out great! I believe in your witchery powers!"

She laughed again and pulled back a strand of her dark purple hair that was tied into a side braid. She was wearing a high-low light purple and silver dress that trailed all the way to the ground. It had a sweetheart neckline and she wore white pearls around her neck. She had a flower crown imbedded around the top of her head, smaller pearled earrings in her ears.
She looked really happy and bright today.

"Do you like my appearance?" She asked, noticing my gaze.

"Yeah, you look very nice today. What's the occasion?"
She must have been dressed up for something important.

"Oh there is none. Can't a lady dress nicely when she pleases?"

"Of course, I just wanted to know why."

She pointed at the jar of goldish brown liquid in my hand.

"Are you going go test it or not?" She asked curious.

"Oh yes! I almost forgot."

I poured the liquid all over the center symbol of the circle.
It began to glow and form a purple aura around it.
Ianite gasped and leaned closer, intrigued by what was happening.
The purple fog began to disperse, leaving me with a pig.

A purple transparent pig.

I groaned. I thought something cool would happen if I did this.

But my groaning ended when I heard Ianites squeals of excitement.

"JORDAN! THIS WAS MY PIG!" She squeaked while jumping up and down.

"Wait, what?"

"MY PIG! HIS NAME IS FRANKLIN! OH HOW IVE MISSED HIM!"

She ran to the pig, and hugged it's surprisingly solid body.

It seemed to know her, given that it snuggled into her when she hugged it. Which was a thing pigs never did.

"Franklin! Roll over! Go on boy!" She coached in a sweet voice.

The transparent pig obeyed and rolled over on its back.

Ianite squealed again and rubbed its tummy, the pig oinked a happy sound as she did.

I laughed at her excitement for the little pig.
I felt like I did something...right for once

She turned to me with a bright smile on her face.

"You did do something right! You raised the dead!"

"I...I raised the dead?"

"Yes! My franklin was my favorite little piggy! But...there was an unfortunate accident by Steven when he thought it was one of his pigs..."

Steve had accidentally killed her pig.

"I was so saddened, Franklin was my first pet. Spark had found him while on one of his trips and Franklin had followed Spark home because he gave him a carrot. We taught him to do tricks and gave him a name tag, he was like our child! Well, before we had children. Anyway, how did you do this?!"

"I'm...not sure how this happened. I didn't know what the spell did, the book didn't say anything about raising the dead..."

"Oh I'm just glad it happened...I missed my Franklin."

She continued to pet the little pig on the head and it's small ears bounced as she did.

"You can keep him if you want..." I suggested while nervously scratching my arm.

She sighed sadly. "How can I get him home? We cannot carry mobs and such back to other dimensions..."

"Wait...I have an idea."

I walked back into my hut and began to dig around in my chest.

I had found a secret hut in the middle of a forest yesterday, out of complete surprise. I decided it would be a hut to use for witchery stuff, because Tom obviously had no room to keep all my stuff in his tree. The little hut was surrounded by tons of trees, so it wasn't really visible unless you actually scavenged through the forest.

But I guess it wasn't a secret anymore, because Ianite had found it.

I pulled out the object I was looking for and walked back out to Ianite and Franklin.

"Here, try this." I handed her my safari net. It was suppose to capture mobs in it without having to actually pick up the mob.

"Oh! I've seen this before!" She wrapped the golden rope around Franklins neck and he immediately disappeared.

"You can let him back out by placing it on the ground, it should work with other dimensions."

"Oh thank you Jordan! I owe you much!" She wrapped her arms around my neck and squeezed me tightly.

"It's...no-problem...please stop..can't br-breathe."

She let go immediately and gave me a sheepish expression.
But then her bright smile curved slightly into something else.

Her face changed, which caught me off guard.

Her eyes widened and her mouth hung open slightly as she stared at the ground. Her mouth started moving as if she was whispering something to herself.

"Ianite?" I nudged her arm slightly.

She didn't react.

"My lady? Are you okay?" Her eyes darkened and her happy aura vanished.

I'm getting worried.

I shook her shoulders gently, to which she flinched and stepped back from me with a terrified expression on her face.

"Wh-what's wrong? What did I do?"

"He's here...." She whispered while her eyes darted towards different directions of the trees.

"Uh..." Was all I could muster up to say. She was scaring me.

I felt my heart drop as the temperature in the forest began to fall, that wasn't normal.

"Sister..." A dark and booming voice called.

Ianite turned in the direction opposite of me. She stared up into the sky.

"Brother?" She called back.

The voice chuckled and Ianite seemed brighten at this.

"BROTHER!" She yelled while smiling up at the sky.

I looked upwards to where she was staring, but I saw nothing.
Just a couple of clouds and a bird covered the sky.
But she seemed to know he was here.

"Brother I knew you were working at it! I could feel you returning!"

"Yes, you emerging back into the real world gave me the last push I needed. Now where is our dear brother? I have much to discuss with him."

"Mianite has taken up your dwelling..."
"Oh has he now?"

"How much further do you need to manifest? I can help!" She replied while trying to avoid the subject. But he didn't stray from it.

"He was always a little...SHORT with me..." He chuckled.

Ianite sniggered at the joke, which I didn't get.

"I'd be killing myself with laughter...but brother's cohord beat me to it. Now, on to business. Where is your champion, sister?"

"He is here with me, brother." She motioned towards me, and I kinda flushed at the comment. I was someone's champion.

"This isn't...your mortal. Don't fool me, I might be a shade but I can tell that this isn't your Spark."

"You are right. But in a way, it is Spark."

"Where is Mot?! My champion?!"

"Your champion may be a little harder to find..."

"You're telling me my Mot was replaced...by some other form...some other him? Lovely..."

"His name is Tom." I chimed in. But they both payed no attention to my words.

"Is he still a shrewd business man? Someone who knows the value of a kind word and a hard stick? Can he still be of use?"

I snorted to myself. Ianite gave me a hard look, then returned to looking at the sky. It was like her happy bright self had vanished and she had turned into the Ianite I knew in my dimension.

"Err, a hard stick at least. But there are others who would join you! But I would not be so quick as to gather followers, make friends first." She pushed.

"You wound me, you have told me before, family were the only friends I would ever need. Sister, the last friend I had sent a man to stab me while I sat in court."

"I'm sure there are plenty of people who'd accept the decline of Mianite and follow you, but there are some people we need to retrieve before this whole thing starts," I pressed on.

"Oh? And what would that be?" He asked in a curious voice.

"Andor and Steve, they are both trapped in the inertia."

"Wait...what? WHAT? Your grandson is captured?! Is everyone we know gone?!"

"Yes for the most part...Helgrind is here but he...worships our brother dearly..."
That was another way of saying he was a back stabbing twat.

"Jordan please don't think of my Henry like that. He is still mine, whether he worships me or any other god." She responded to my thoughts.

"Sorry, I keep forgetting I don't have free thoughts anymore." I replied sarcastically.

She shouldn't even care about him anymore, he left her for dead after all.

Oops.

"JORDAN!" She yelled at me with a angry expression on her face.

I raised my hands up in defeat and walked back into my witch hut. I'll just let her talk to her brother.
I'm obviously no help at all.

I gathered everything I needed to get back home safely.

I wanted to see Tom. I hadn't talked to him since this morning.

My communicator beeped as I powered it on, I pressed the button that showed Toms name on it. I texted him I would be home in a few minutes.

I walked back out of the hut and and she was still talking with Dianite, as if I didn't exist.

Her safari net was hanging on a tree, she had forgotten all about it. About me. About what I did for her today.

I picked it off the tree branch and flew off to Toms house.

She didn't want my gift, so I guess I would take it back.
~
I landed at Toms house in front of the tree. I heard the door creak as he walked outside to greet me.

"Hey! What did you do today?" He smiled and walked towards me, Terrence following him from behind.

"Something that did matter, but then didnt," I replied grumpily.

"Okay, what happened? You are obviously not in a great mood."

"Helgrind is bad. Everyone knows he's bad, and I get yelled at for thinking that he is? I made her pet pig come back to life for gods sake! And then she completely ignores me for it to talk to Dianite? Ugh!"

Toms face paled. Oops. Guess I forgot to tell him Dianite had shown up.

"He's...he's here?" He whispered.

"Just his spirit! Not his actual person. It's okay, he's actually kind of friendlier than your Dianite. Lady Ianite was speaking to him and I was listening."

"Did he mention me?"

"Well yeah, but only because he was wondering where that Mot guy was, and Ianite had to explain what happened."

"Oh...what's in the net?"

He pointed at the golden safari net in my hand.

"I made her pet pig come back to life...but she didn't even pay attention to it after Dianite started talking to her. So I brought it back..."

Toms expression got angry.

"You brought her pet back to life and then she ignored you? That little bi-"

"I wouldn't say that...she might come back and yell at me again..."

"I don't care! She'd have to say it to my face first and then I would smash her pretty face in! She needs to freaking accept the fact that her son hates her to her very core, and not punish you for thinking it! I could kill her..."
He growled while clenching his fists.

I put the safari net down and Franklin appeared. He looked around for Ianite, but stopped when he found that she wasn't anywhere near him.
I pet the little pigs head and he oinked happily. He reminded me of Jerry kinda...Jerry loved pets on the head.

"That's a cute pig dude, I'm not gonna lie," Tom stated.

"I miss Jerry..." I blurted out.

Why did I say that? No one knew anything about Jerry.

"Who's Jerry? You've had another pet pig before?"

"He was my pet slime when I lived alone. I don't really know what happened to him, he just vanished one day. I was so upset, he was like the first friend I had ever made."

"I thought slimes were hostile mobs?"

"They are. But Jerry wasn't hostile, he just followed me around everywhere I went and ate up all of my sandwiches," I laughed sadly.

"...I can make a Terrence for you and you can call him Jerry?"

He was trying to cheer me up.

"No it's okay. I'd rather not have any more pets, it'd just be too sad if they left or died accidentally."

"I'm sorry you've had such a bad day," he sat down on an old silver wood log and patted the empty spot next to him. I sat beside him and watched Franklin chase a butterfly towards the tree. It was really adorable.

"We should talk about something important while were still alone."

He shifted nervously in his spot.

"What is it? Is it something bad?"

"No! I mean kind of...I don't know. Sparklez...what's been going on between us lately? We completely ignored the fact that we kissed the other day, without the influence of alcohol, are we just gonna pretend that didn't happen?"

My stomach churned. This wasn't something I wanted to talk about at the moment.

"I dunno..." I replied quietly.

"Yes you do know! The cuddling, the kissing, the strange feelings? I know you've been getting them too, don't lie. What's up with all this stuff? Guys don't usually do all that when they're just friends. So why are we?"

"Tom...I have been getting these feelings. But I just don't want to talk about them right now..."

"You don't have a choice. You need to decide now what are we going to do about this. Or are you gonna wimp out and run to your specter dimension like you always do?"
He scoffed and shook his head.

I gripped the bottom of the wood tightly. Tears pricked at my eyes. But they weren't sad.

They were angry.

I stood up and looked down at him, and with all the venom I could muster, told him what I thought if his little comments.

"My specter dimension IS THE ONLY PLACE I HAVE ANY FREAKING PRIVACY!
ITS WHERE I CAN CRY WITHOUT YOU CALLING ME A WIMP AND HIT THINGS AND HAVE EMOTIONAL OUTBURST WITHOUT HURTING ANYONE! AND EACH TIME YOU DO MAKE THESE LITTLE STUPID COMMENTS, I FORGIVE YOU EVERY SINGLE FREAKING TIME! DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY TIMES IN MY PATHETIC LIFE I WANTED TO KILL MYSELF OVER THESE?!
OVER LITTLE COMMENTS THAT MY BEST FRIEND AND MY CRUSH TOLD ME?! I DO LIKE YOU TOM! I LOVE YOU! BUT I WOULDNT EXPECT YOU TO RETURN THE SAME FEELINGS, BECAUSE ALL YOU EVER DO ANYMORE IS HURT ME!"

Tears were flowing down my face as I panted from the yelling that I'd just done. My heart was racing and I felt like I was about to puke my feelings.
I looked to see that Franklin was crouched down and hiding his face, and Terrence was hiding behind a tree. They were terrified of me.

I can't believe I just told him.

I've ruined everything.

Over my stupid feelings that I didn't even understand yet.

I'd loved Tom ever since that party. Ever since that kiss.
But I never said anything, because I wasn't even sure it was love. I didn't know what love was exactly. I'd never felt the way I did when I was with him, even when I was with Capsize. It was totally different.
Now I knew.

I turned into a direction and ran.

No way was I going to look at his reaction. No way would I face my consequences of sharing what I felt. I was abandoning everything, but I just couldn't stay here.

I ran past Wags house. Tucker's house. Sonja's house.

Into the woods where I'd almost died from a creeper.

I was in the middle of the woods, when I ran out of breath and stopped to put my hands on my knees in order to catch a break.
My sobs erupted as soon as I did.

I was so alone. In the dark forest with with nothing but the cold air and whispering wind to comfort me.

I laid down in the wet grass and continued to let out everything.
I didn't care if the mobs surrounded me. I didn't care about anything anymore.
That night I was attacked by that mysterious figure, I wished it never happened. I wished I still lived alone. I wished Id never met or loved anyone.
My life would be so much better if I hadn't met a single soul.
My screams of despair filled the air and my chest ached from these feelings of regret.
I began to hate everything. Hate every memory I ever had with my friends. Hate the memory of when I met Tom.

The clouds seemed to darken and enclose around me, as I cursed the day I ever met Tom Syndicate.
