The next day

 Abuela's POV

Why wouldn't she just leave us?

Constantly, I have been trying to hurt or bother that Y/N so she'd leave my family alone and stop ruining the perfect balance. But she won't. Recently, however, I came up with a plan. I noticed that almost every time I purposely bump into Y/N, my oldest grandson, Camilo, catches her, which is why she can't fall and get hurt as I want her to. However, Camilo was not around at Dolores and Mariano's engagement, and so Y/N did indeed fall, and her elbow was bleeding. However, Pepa on that day was so excited and stressed out, Camilo had to make her some tea, so he was in the kitchen when Y/N came in looking for Julieta. He found my daughter for her, and he danced with Y/N as well! I wanted them apart, so I made the band stop the slow music. Then they stopped dancing.

Then, yesterday, those two started dating. I was so angry, I want her away from Camilo. Wouldn't she take a hint that I, Abuela Alma Madrigal, didn't want her here?

I knew she was with Camilo in his room. Time to turn on my plan.

 Y/N's POV

I was with Camilo in his room, sitting on his bed, laughing. He'd shapeshifted into Mirabel and shown me her reaction whenever she got one of my letters. Just then, there was a knock at the door. Camilo shifted back into himself. "Come in!" He called.

Abuela Alma's head popped in. "Hola, can I talk to Y/N?" She asked. She had a strange, fake smile on her face.

"Sure," I said, getting up from Camilo's bed. I gave him a kiss on the cheek and followed Abuela out of the room. "I'll see you, mi amor," he said.

Once we were in the hallway, her fake smile disappeared. "Stay away from Camilo," she said, glaring at me.

"What? Why?" I asked.

"I suggest you do so without question. It will be easier that way," Alma replied. "If I catch you with him... it will not end well." I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

Abuela Alma walked away without saying anything. I ran out of the Casita, tears streaming down my face, just as Camilo opened his door.

Camilo's POV

I thought this was taking way too long for an Abuela-Y/N conversation. I opened the door to check on Y/N when I saw her running away, crying. She was headed for the front door.

Oh, Dios (Oh, God). What did Abuela say to her?

"Y/N, wait!" I yelled, running after her. "Mi querida!"

She ran all the way to her house. I was exhausted, but I ran after her.

She ran up to her room. I made my way in through her window. I saw her hugging her knees and sobbing.

"Hey, what's wrong, mi vida?" I asked gently, putting an arm around her. "What did Abuela say to you?"

I helped her get up. She buried her face in my chest, and I put an arm around her again. She cried and cried, and I let her. After a few minutes, Y/N seemed to calm down. "What's wrong?" I asked again, gently again. "What did Abuela say to you?"

"She said...to stay away from you. She said if she caught us together it won't end well," Y/N replied. She refused to leave my hug, and I didn't mind.

I was speechless for a minute. "What?" I said. "Why? That's ridiculous.  Why wouldn't she want us together? I'm perfectly happy when I'm with you!"

"I know, it makes no sense, but it means I can't come over anymore because Abuela's always home," Y/N said. Shoot, she was right.

 Y/N's POV

I cried for what seemed like forever into Camilo's chest. I felt so safe in his arms.

I told him what Abuela told me. He seemed furious. If what Abuela had been doing to me before was bad, this was worse.

"I know, it makes no sense, but it means I can't come over anymore because Abuela's always home," I said sadly.

"Ah, but here's the trick, Hermosa," Camilo said. "She said if she caught us together. If we meet up where Abuela won't find us, on a mountain or at the park maybe, she'll never know we're still together."

I thought about it for a moment. "Mi amor, you're a genius," I said, giving him a cheek kiss. Simple: If Abuela didn't know we still saw each other, she wouldn't ever need to do that 'won't end well' thing.

We tried Camilo's plan. Every day we'd meet by the big plain field or an Encanto mountain and spend an entire day together. Sometimes we'd babysit kids together.

It went on for two weeks. Until that one day when we were at the grass field. Camilo had his arms around me, and I was just resting my head on his shoulder while we watched the busy village.

That evening, I went home normally. Until an hour later, I was in my room just reading when someone knocked on the front door. I ran downstairs and found Camilo.

"You have to come to my house, now," he said, completely out of breath.

"Whoa, easy, vaquero," I said. "Why?"

"Don't know," he said, still catching his breath. "But Abuela wants you."

Major uh-oh right there. I let Camilo inside to rest for a minute, then we ran out to Casita.

Casita opened the door. We ran inside and found Abuela Alma outside of Camilo's room.

"You disobeyed me, Y/N, " she said.

"So what if I did?" I snapped.  I was really, really mad now. "You showing your hatred for me on purpose. You tried to keep me and Camilo apart, when you know we're dating. Why? Honestly, what have I ever done to you?"

Abuela was silent for a moment. Then she frowned and said, "Mirabel has always been talking about you for the eight years that you two have known each other. Now you come in, have dinner with my family, and act like it is no big deal. You have ruined our delicate balance. YOU have ruined our perfection. And now, you are forbidden from entering the Casita, or speaking to anyone with a single drop of Madrigal blood. Do you understand?!"

I didn't say anything. Tears were forming in my eyes. Instead of responding, I turned around and grabbed Camilo by the cheeks and kissed him. Then I ran out of the Casita, tears streaming down my cheeks. Casita was trying to stop me, but I ran off anyway. It was raining, with some thunder, so I guess Pepa had heard. Nevertheless, I made it all the way home.

 Camilo's POV

Y/N ran off, crying. I was obviously going to run after her, but Abuela pulled me back by the shoulder. I turned around to face her. "Why'd you do that?!" I asked, infuriated. "It is best for you, Camilo," Abuela said coldly. "There is a girl from a rich family. We think she'd suit you better." I stared at her. "So you're having an arranged marriage for me?" I asked. Abuela nodded and turned around. She left.

Mama was staring at us from downstairs. It started raining, and there was thunder. When Abuela had walked away, she came running up the stairs, with Papa right behind her. She hugged me and said, "I'm so sorry, mi querido. I tried to discourage the move, but she insisted. I couldn't do anything about it."

"It's a really nice family, but we can try to talk to Abuela again about it," Papa said. Mama nodded ever so quickly in agreement.

"I'm fine," I said. "If you guys want to talk to Abuela, please do. If she won't be convinced..." I trailed off. I wasn't in the mood for talking.

"Alright, valiente," Mama said. She kissed me in the hair and went off to Abuela's room, Papa on her tail.

I went back into my room and got down on my bed. Things didn't feel the same without Y/N. She was such an amazing girl, and I wanted to have her back. But I couldn't even talk to her.

Wait a second...I couldn't talk to her! Abuela said nothing about writing notes!

I grabbed a notebook and pencil. I was going to need a lot of paper.

 Y/N's POV

I sobbed it up in my room.

Pull yourself together, Y/N, I thought. It'll be fine. Abuela will come to her senses.

That's when two small strips of paper came flying from my window. I took both. One was empty, and the other had writing in it. A little gasp escaped my lips. This was Camilo's handwriting!

A/N: Hey guys! Sorry for not posting. Hope you like it, this took forever to think up. And I had school. You get the idea. Thanks for your support, and I'll see you next time!
