Ω 24. FATHER DAUGHTER

After 25 years …

Taehyung’s

“What time until that kid goes out?”

“5 more minutes, Sir.” My bodyguard said.

I nodded my head. I looked at my watch. 7:55, I need to go home before 9:00 or Seokjin will kill me. I hopped out of my car. My bodyguards came with me I brought three of them tonight because I needed to do something important. I need to warn someone and set boundaries.

“Here he is, Sir.”

I looked around and saw a young man, maybe in his 20s. He is whistling in the wind, his phone is in his hands texting somebody. And that somebody might be my daughter Cassiopeia. I hate this man to the core. He’s not good enough for my daughter. He will never be good enough for her.

“Take care of him.”

I saw them approach the young man named Soobin. He is the star player of their school’s basketball team. He is also at the top of his class. A business major. He came from a not so well-off family and he is using my daughter for money. He is leeching off of her to buy him shoes, pay for his studies and she even bought him his phone! I can’t let my daughter get taken advantage of and this is the only way I know that can stop this bullshit!

They drag him to a secluded place where no one can see him and after some minutes I heard grunts. My men are doing their job. I needed to send him a message. I need him to stay away from my daughter.

I walked to their direction. I saw the poor boy on the ground crunching in pain. The sides of his lips bleed and his hand was badly beaten up. I specifically ordered that. I wanted to crush his dreams and just by looking at it, I think I have achieved it. His bones were probably crushed or if not, it will take time to heal. He can’t play for his school for the mean time and that means, he will lose his opportunity to get picked as one of the potential players for the national team.

I got to my knees and made Soobin face me. He is wincing in pain as he looked at me. “S-sir …”

“One message, Soobin. Stay away from Cassiopeia or you’ll never see the light of day.”

“I-I love her …”

“You’re not on our level. She doesn’t deserve you.” I spat those words towards him and left. We rode the car. I texted Seokjin and he replied with a simple, “Okay, I love you!” That made me smile and forget what I just did.

I know both Seokjin and Cassie will hate me but I’m only doing this to protect my daughter. I don’t want her to cry of a broken heart because the man she loves is only using her. I know she won’t let me see her cry, why? Because on top of all of these, she thought that I was clueless that she is dating that poor excuse of a man.

She did it for two years until I accidentally saw them at the mall. I was buying a gift for Seokjin and then I ran into them. She didn’t noticed me but I saw everything. She used her card to pay for his boyfriend’s shoes. Take note shoes. Not just one but three brand new shoes. I was outranged but I didn’t confronted her yet. I followed them secretly. They ate at a restaurant, I was sitting just two tables away from them and just like earlier, she paid for him. She even drove the guy home.

From then on, I followed them and I knew that she even gave him allowance everyday. She will divide the money I gave her and give Soobin half and for me that’s unacceptable! He only uses her for money and I hate him! I really really hate him.

“Sir, we’re here.”

I went out of my car and rushed inside my home. From the front door, I can already smell Seokjin’s dish. It made my stomach grumble. I went to the kitchen and greeted them all.

The first one I saw is Andi. She is already a grown woman and everyday she looks like his father. She got that plump lips and chubby cheeks that her siblings love to play with. She is just like me, a lawyer. She said she wanted to make us proud and little did she know that whatever she does, I will always be proud of her.

“Hi, Dad! I miss you!” She ran to me like a little kid and hugged me tight. She even giggled before pulling away.

“I missed you to, Princess.”

Then a curly female version of me appeared from nowhere and hugged my waist. “How about your mini me? Did you missed her too?”

I chuckled and kissed the top of her head. I’m a bit guilty because of what did but I brushed it off for now. “I missed you too if course. Now, where’s Apollo and your Appa?”

“Apollo is with Eireen. He will dine with Uncle Jimin and Kookie tonight. You know, couple things. He needed to make a good impression.” Andi gave me a wink. I chuckled.

My kids are grown. Apollo is dating Jimin’s daughter, Eireen and I think they are both Happy. Eireen always comes and visits us with his parents over the weekend, they will go out on a date and we support them all throughout especially Jimin and Seokjin. Seokjin was so happy when Apollo came to us and told us that he wants Eireen as his future wife. We gave our blessings and now, they’re ready to get married.

“Appa’s here.” Cassie whispered. I turned around and saw Seokjin. He is as beautiful as the day I first met him. He is still wearing his glasses and is in his regular clothes but overall, his beauty is still beyond compare. We’re almost at our fifties but my husband right here still looks like at the prime of his youth. Strands of gray hair appears but that only accentuated his handsomeness.

“Come, let’s eat. I prepared your favorite.” He gave me a peck and I blushed slightly. He chuckled when he noticed that. We ate dinner and talked about our day. I am so blessed with such a beautiful family like this and it’s all thanks to Seokjin for bringing and raising up such lovely kids and making our family strong like how it is now.

After a few days, I noticed that Cassiopeia is a little bit down and sad. I was expecting this and I’m ready. I sat beside her to the living room and hugged her tight.

“What the problem, tiger cub?” I asked. I used the nickname I had for her when she was a kid. She managed to smile and hugged me back.

“Dad, I love you. You’re the only man who won’t ever hurt me, right? I will stay here until I get old and I will take care of you and Appa. I will be your baby forever.”

I felt her tears through my cloth. Seokjin who came from upstairs threw me a worried look. I just motioned for him to come with us. He did, and quietly comforted our daughter.

“I love you, Appa. I love you, Daddy.”

It hurts to see her cry to our arms but I know she will thank me for it one day.

“I love you too, baby.”

I reached for Seokjin’s hand to calm him down as he looked so panicked at our daughter’s state. I hope they won’t find out. I can’t bear if they hate me for what I did.
