Underground

Hope you all enjoyed the introduction of this story's big three! And the Sub 3 as well! I always liked to assume that each year level has its own separate big 3, like how Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki are the big 3 of the first years. So, with a helpful idea from Det3rmined_Writ3r and their Shiketsu's Warrioress story, which I do recommend you all check out because it's awesome, we now have three sets of big 3 in this story. And, in case you're wondering who the Minor 3 are among the first years, while it was tough to decide, I would have to say it's Phobos(for sure), Lisa(it was between her or Josh), and Holly(Had to have 1 from Class 2 as well and she's top student there). Anyways, i'm rambling, let's just get back into the action! Enjoy!

-POV: Third Person-

"Go loud, go loud!" Refracta shouted as she and the Sub 3 went into action. Marco used his quirk and covered his upper body in thick spikes which quickly hardened and turned black. He then busted through the wall they were up against and let the enemy know they were here.

"What the!? Hey, over there! We've got incoming!" Some of the guards yelled as they raised up their guns and opened fire.

"Spread out and take them all down! Make that opening for the Big 3!" Refracta ordered as the four of them all went separate ways around all the shipping containers. They provided excellent cover for the heroes as the enemies bullets couldn't penetrate their tough steel.

"Move in and trap them! Give 'em no room and shoot them down!" One of the guards ordered to the rest as they all began to advance. Two of them went out of view of the rest as they went along the side of a container.

"See any of them yet?" One asked the other.

"Nope. Just keep your gun pointed forward." The other one said as someone began to maon behind them.

"Aw, but if you're pointing them forward then that takes away all the danger for me." Alicia said in a pouty tone as the two guards quickly turned and opened fire at her. Alicia stood about 10ft from where the guards were, but in the time they took to fire their guns and for the bullets to travel to her, Alicia was able to generate a shield of solid light from her right arm in a nanosecond. She raised it up and successfully blocked all of the bullets. "Sorry, not gonna work on little ol' me!"

"I'm out! Same here!" The two guards shouted in a panic as they frantically tried to reload their guns. But Alicia capitalized on the moment and created a light sword from her left hand. She swung it at the two guards and severed the ends of their guns off in one clean slice. She then hit both of them at the head with the butt of her sword and knocked them both out.

"I hope some of the other guys around here are tougher than you two. This might get boring real fast if any of them are as lame as you guys, am I right?" Alicia said to the two KO'd guards, despite knowing full well they weren't gonna respond.

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!" Some more guards screamed as one came flying over the shipping container Alicia stood next to and crashed into some nearby barrels. Alicia skipped over to the edge of the container and poked her head out, only to see Sophia wrecking a bunch of guards around her. All three of her hydra heads were out from her back and each had a guard clamped in its mouth, flailing them around into other guards who were attempting to shoot the serpentine heads.

"And a one, and a two, and a three...." Sophia said as she took out guard after guard, either knocking them back or throwing them off into the distance. "You all ain't got nothin' on me!"

"Then maybe look behind you, girl." Alicia said to her teammate as Sophia threw away the last of the guards and turned around to see another guard, holding a pistol and aiming it right for her head.

"Now d-don't you move, girl, or I swear i'll blow your fucking brains out!" The guard threatened as he cocked the gun.

"No you won't. And that's because I won't let you." Marco said as he came around the corner of a container, dragging to guards along with him, both missing quite a few teeth and definitely knocked out. The guard with the gun took aim at him now, even though Marco's entire upper body was still covered in hard black spikes. "Go on, take your best shot."

The guard eagerly obliged and fired three shots at Marco. But all the bullets did was bounce off his body, one of them even ricocheting back and hitting the guards trigger finger, making him drop the gun.

"Ah, fuck!!" The guard shouted in pain as he grasped his hand. Marco casually walked right up and grabbed the guard by the collar of his jacket, pulling him right up to his face.

"You've got two option now, buddy. You can either, A: Run away, or B: Get punched really hard in the face by me. Your choice." Marco threatened as he let go of the guard and watched as he turned his ass around and bolted for the nearest gate to gtfo.

"Nice work, you three. I see why you're the best second years at P.H now." Refracta said as she came onto the scene, dragging along several guards who were all tied up thanks to her light whips. She then pulled out a walkie talkie from a pouch on her utility belt and turned it on.

"Big 3, this is Refracta. We've thinned out the resistance over here, and by the looks of things over by the entrance, you've got a clear shot. Get in there and find Vassago, right now." She spoke into it as she waited for a response.

"Roger that, Refracta. Marimo, Namiko and I are on it. You 4 stay safe up here. Just buzz the walkie if you need any backup." Kurian replied as the Big 3 made their move. Marimo used two of his swords to cut through the wall the three of them were up against, giving them a clear path towards the entrance of the warehouse. The three of them ran for the entrance of the warehouse while it was clear, who knows when more guards would show up. They made their way inside and quickly found the staircase into the tunnels beneath the buildings.

"Ladies first." Marimo said to Namiko as she just rolled her eyes and walked down the stairs.

"Think it's just Vassago down here?" Namiko questioned but the other two disagreed.

"Oh, absolutely not. He's probably heard the fighting above the ground so his bodyguards are probably flocking with the dude." Kurian replied as they reached the bottom of the stairwell. They came to a long and dimly lit hallway that seemed to go on for about 100 metres before it come to an intersection.

"3 different paths, 3 of us. Looks like it's time we split. I'll take left." Namiko said as she chose her path to take.

"I'm feelin' right." Kurian said, taking his chosen path.

"What am I, chopped liver? Don't get to choose shit? Alright, fine, the best path anyways s the one forward." Marimo said as he continued to go straight. The three separated and made their way down their hallways. Surely, at least one of them would find their target.

-POV: Namiko-

"Ladies first? Ladies first!? I'm gonna show that Marimo a piece of my god damn mind when we're done here!" I thought to myself as I ran through the long and much better lit concrete hallway. "I hope i'm the one to find Vassago, then maybe I can show him up and shut him up."

"I wouldn't count on it....." A voice suddenly said as it echoed through the hallway. It made me slow down a bit as I felt I was nearing someone. Or something. Eventually, the hallway came to a much more open room, still made of concrete on all sides, this room was about 100x80x20ft. And standing in its centre was a man, about 6ft4in. in height. He had golden blonde hair, green eyes, and he wore a ripped up biker vest, no shirt underneath, ripped navy blue jeans, combat boots, and he had brass knuckles on his hands. "After all..... you came the wrong way."

"And who might you be? One of Vassago's bodyguards, I presume?" I asked him as he gave me a nod before cracking his neck a bit.

"Well, you banged that one. For however obvious it was. To make things simple, you can call me, Bullet. Me and my former partner were down here in these storage tunnels when our boss came rushing down. Told us he could hear fighting up above. We all split and now here we our." He said to me as I got a little curious from what he  just told me.

"Your former partner? You mean the other bodyguard?" I asked Bullet as he gave me a nod.

"Look at that, you can listen. Yes, I said former. She was..... well, getting tired of how we did things around here. And one day, the boss left her behind on a job. She never came back 'til recently. Started asking to if she could take away some of our product, and surprisingly, the boss gave her what she needed. Heard it was for some other group she'd joined. But now, she's come back. Joined in on our family again. The boss still trusts her, but i'm a little more hesitant. You don't just come back to this kind of life just like that. She's up to something." Bullet explained to me.

"I see. Well then.... this was all lovely to find out, but let me tell you, it doesn't really matter. We're here now, the heroes. You're about to be shut down entirely. If you think the other bodyguard is up to something, then that's totally fine. She'll go down the same way you will very soon." I told him as I shook up my hands a bit in preparation for a fight.

"If that's what you're thinking then you're dead wrong. I've never failed my boss before, and you won't start it for me. I'm gonna be leaving this place by stepping past your dead corpse." Bullet told me which just made me laugh.

"Oh really? Sounds like you're gonna be some fun then. So..... let's see what you can do then!" I said as I went in for the attack. I used my quirk to control all the earthy materials in the room. I hovered my hands over the concrete floor before raising them up, causing a huge chunk of concrete to break out of the floor and float up into the air.

"I can do plenty. More than enough to kill you, girly." Bullet said to me as he tapped his brass knuckles together a couple times. I thrusted my hands forward and sent the chunk of concrete flying at him, but as it neared, Bullet shot one of his fists forward and, within the literal blink of an eye, he smashed the concrete to pieces. "It'll take a lot more than some rocks to put me down."

"Then it's a good thing I can do much more than just throw rocks. Let's see you handle this." I said as I began to wave my hands around. The air within the room began to move in accordance to my hand movements, myself controlling the flow of the wind as I was making it pick up speed.

"Air control as well? I'll admit, that's some quirk you've got, girl. Still, it won't be enough!" Bullet shouted as he charged me. But before he could even get close, I sent my channel of wind at him. By now, i'd make it speed up to over 200 mph, more than enough to blow back a person. However, as my wind went to strike him, Bullet began unleashing flurries of punches. He literally started punching through my wind, making his way towards me with every punch he threw. His fists moved so fast as well, they literally looked like blurs. "Let's see how you like having your insides shattered!"

Before Bullet could strike me, I manipulated another chunk of concrete and made it act as a wall in front of me. But Bullet mowed straight through and landed a hard punch to my chest. The force was unbearable and he sent me sliding along the ground on my side. I hit the side of a wall as I held my chest from the pain.

"My Bullet Fist quirk let's me throw punches with the speed and power of an actual bullet. Add in these brass knuckles i'm wearing and you've got one painful combo." Bullet told me as approached me. I found the strength to get up onto my knees, but with the distance between him and me being not very much, I didn't actually have time to get up onto my feet.

"Don't have time to worry about my injuries! Just gotta keep him away from me!" I thought to myself as I pulled out a lighter from a pouch on my belt and lit it up. I then manipulated the flame and made it grow into a large fireball which I sent flying at Bullet. He went to punch at it as he did with the wind before, but upon impact, the fireball exploded and sent him flying back. He managed to stay standing on his feet though. Still, i'd burned his skin a bit and blew off his vest, a sign he'd taken at least a little bit of damage. "How'd that feel, you bastard?"

"You little bitch...." Bullet said as he clenched his fists tightly and then cracked his neck.

"Oh? Did I piss off the big bad punching machine? Wah, wah, it's no fun! Well sorry to disappoint you, but I told you, i'm not letting you beat me. Now then...." I said as I manipulated another flame from my lighter, creating a fiery serpent that swirled around my body. "Shall we continue?"

"With pleasure!" Bullet roared as he punched the ground, causing a small chunk of concrete to fly up. He caught it in his other hand and then threw it at me. With his arm moving with the speed of a bullet, his casual throw was far more deadly than the average person. I had to jump out of the way before it could hit me, my serpent landing below me and slithering along the floor to keep me away from Bullet who began to approach. The chunk of concrete impacted the wall so hard though, that it actually cratered it and broke a hole through the wall, revealing a water pipe which was now leaking. "Stay still so I can kill you!"

"No chance! Staying away from you means you can't deal damage to me! And I don't have to be close to you to hurt you!" I replied as I sent my serpent out to attack him. It lunged at him at blinding speed, but Bullet, within the blink of an eye, reeled back his right arm and threw a punch at it. But I twisted my left arm which caused my serpent to spiral in the air now instead of lunge straight for him. Bullet's punch missed and my serpent bit down onto his arm as it was extended. My creature erupted into a large fiery explosion that engulfed Bullet in flames and smoke. "Get up from that, motherfucker."

When the smoke cleared, Bullet laid on his back, his eyes closed and his body motionless. A KO. I casually walked up to him and crouched down next to his head and giggled a bit.

"Some bodyguard you turned out to b-" I began to say as his eyes suddenly shot open. He threw a punch straight into my face which sent me flying up to hit the ceiling. When I landed, I slid along the ground again until I hit that same wall which was now broken with the pipe leaking water out of it. I was still conscious, but I could barely feel my face. I felt around it, my nose bending the wrong way and several of my teeth missing or heavily chipped. And, i'm sure I had one massive black eye as well.

"I got up, bitch. And i'm tired of your little games. You die now." Bullet said as he stood up and cracked his knuckles. He began to run at me now, so I had to do something fast if I wanted to leave this place alive.

"You can take the heat..... so let's see how you like the cold, asshole!" I shouted as I raised my right hand up to manipulate the water inside the broken pipe. It began to fly out and swirl in the air before me. And, when it was a giant bubble, easily 12ft across, I sent it at Bullet as a torrential burst.

"You think water's gonna stop me!? Stick to the flames, girly, it's the only thing that's gonna hurt me!" Bullet said as he crossed his arms in front of him to block my attack. However, once my water engulfed him, it was all over.

"Now freeze....." I said as I clenched my right hand into a fist. The water began to drop in temperature until it became solid ice. Bullet was fully encased in it from head to toe, stuck with no way out. And with his arms stuck in that crossed position, he wouldn't be throwing any punches anytime soon. "I think.... you should.... chill out, dude...."

With my fight now over, I pulled out my walkie-talkie to relay my info.

"This is Zone. Right hallway..... it's a dead end. Found a bodyguard.... bit of a handful.... nothing I couldn't handle though..... just chillin' with him now. No Vassago. One of you guys are on his trail." I told my teammates as I heard nothing but static on the other end. "Terrific. No signal down here....."

My body ached all over, and I was in no condition to fight anymore. And, I had to secure Bullet as well, so my best option was to maintain my position here and wait for someone to find me. I took out some medical supplies from my belt and treated my wounds as best I could before I sat down and leaned against Bullet's frozen body.

"Just you and me, dumbass. Just you and me...." I said as I leaned my head back against the cool ice to help ease the burning feeling in my head. "Hopefully the guys are having a better time than I am."

-POV: Kurian-

"Please repeat, I didn't get that? Zone, please respond. Namiko, god damn it, respond!" I said into my walkie but all I got was static. And her previous message was full of static as well, so I was barely able to hear any of it. "Shit. These thick concrete walls must be interfering with the signal."

I decided to just let it go seeing as I could see the end of my tunnel. It was opening up into a larger room, most likely for storage usage as this is typically what these tunnels were used for. And, upon arriving in the much larger room, I found I wasn't along. Only, it wasn't Namiko or Marimo here with me.

"You're very loud, you know. Besides your yelling into your communications device, I could hear your footsteps from over 100 meters away." A girl said to me. She sat on top of a large wooden crate, her body covered in dark brown feathers, as well as two large wings sprouting from her back. Her head turned a full 180 degrees all the way around and revealed she had the head of an owl, and when the rest of her body turned, I saw her legs contained large talons, and she wore a lavender sports bra with similarly coloured shorts, and two knives strapped to her thighs. "I was starting to get bored waiting for someone. Vassago really knows how to make a boring plan for the rest of us."

"Well i'll be damned. If I may ask, is your name Poppy?" I asked her as she grew a twisted smile and gave me a nod.

"Yeah, that's little ol' me. And what's your name, cutey?" She asked me in a giddy voice.

"Well, my hero name is Arc Angel. But, if it means anything, you can just call me Kurian." I told her as she hopped off her crate and began to approach me.

"And what is someone like you, a hero, doing in a place like this?" Poppy asked me.

"I could ask you, a villain, the same question. Last I heard, you were part of what's left of the Injustice Squad. What's someone like you doing with these people?" I replied as she came right up and stopped when we were about a foot apart. I towered over her though as she didn't even look 5ft. tall.

"Got bored with the Squad and decided to come back home. I used to be part of Vassago's gang, one of his bodyguards, actually. He left me behind on a run though, nearly got me caught. That's why I went and joined the Injustice Squad. But, Vassago welcomed me back here with open arms. Guess he misses all my charms." Poppy said as she gently grasped my left arm and began to squeeze it a bit.

"You know, if you let me turn you in, I can convince the authorities to go light on you. We can help you, make you see a better light. Help you do the right thing, instead of all this." I told her as she just sighed and took her arm away from me.

"Not for someone like me. Not when this is all you've known for your whole life. In the 15 years I've been alive, all I've ever known are tragedy, lies, pain, and deceit. All of which I've come to terms with on a daily basis. And all of which I can call my own." Poppy said as she turned her back to me again.

"Please, just give us a chance to help. You could be wasting away the rest of your life if you keep all this up. And someone your age, all that happening would be even more tragic than some of the crimes you've already committed." I said to her as I saw her lower her head.

"Is that so? Well then, what if I told you that I like doing all this? That I find it..... fun." Poppy told me as that giddy voice began to slowly come back out.

"If that were the case, and if I knew you were telling the truth, then i'd see you as a lost cause. Someone who isn't worth helping. Someone that I would have to stop." I said as I could feel where this conversation was headed. So, I quietly plucked a metal feather from one of my wings and held it like a blade in my right hand.

"I don't know..... maybe you're right about all this. Maybe I really can change into a better person...." Poppy said as, without warning, she turned quickly and swung her right talon at me. But I blocked it with my metal feather blade. The two of us tried to push the other back, but neither of us could gain the upper hand. "But that just wouldn't be fun now, would it! But you know what is fun!? Killing people!!! I haven't killed anyone for ages, so taking your life is gonna put an even bigger smile on my face! I can't wait to hear you scream, fly boy!"

"So I see you've chosen the wrong path. So be it...." I said as I shoved Poppy away by kicking her in the chest. I then pulled out another feather and held both crossed in front of me, ready for battle. "Then I will show you no mercy. This is what you deserve for all the crimes you've committed, and for plunging our city into chaos one month ago."
