My boyfriend of two months, Shoto Todoroki, was finishing up his provisional licensing course today. It had been a rollercoaster for him to say the least, and it was irritating that this course had to take place on a weekend as it meant I didn't get to see Shoto as often as I wanted, despite being in school and living under the same roof as him.
I could tell that the course had taken its toll on my boyfriend a little, but as today was his last day I decided to treat him. He had worked so hard after all, so I decided to put together a sweet date night for the two of us where we'd simply relax together, eat food and watch a film.
I was currently setting up my bedroom, making sure that my bed was as comfy as it could be by organising plenty of pillows, cushions and blankets on it before bringing out the various snacks I had bought for us to share whilst we watched Your Name. I knew he would be incredibly tired so making him feel as comfortable as possible was top priority, and I knew there was a chance he could fall asleep so watching a film we had already both seen was the safest option.
My phone suddenly buzzed, catching my attention and I saw that it was Shoto announcing that he was back on UA grounds. Excitement brewing within me, I bounced down the stairs to wait for him in the common room, eager for his return. Annoyingly almost all of the class were there too, which meant that the likelihood was he'd be stopped by everyone asking how the course went.
When the doors creaked open, Shoto and Bakugou stepping in, my suspicions were correct as everyone was around them like hawks, asking too many questions to keep up. I felt a little irritated and wormed my way through everyone, finally standing directly in front of Shoto. "Hey," he said with a small smile. I simply leant up and kiss him, catching him slightly off-guard but I didn't care as he kissed back.
"Hey," I said sweetly when we pulled apart. "Sorry everyone, but the stories will have to wait until tomorrow," I said, taking my boyfriends hand and leading him away from the party. As he followed me I could tell he was tired, but I was hoping he would be awake enough to at least spend time together. "How was it?" I asked as we walked to my room.
"Tiring. Glad I'm away from him though, he was there watching again," Shoto scoffed and I knew he was talking about his father. I smiled sadly, knowing about their history but I tried to distract him by cupping his cheek and pulling him in for a kiss.
"Well it's over now, completely. You'll be getting your hero licence soon and I'm so proud of you," I whispered lovingly, this praise causing him to smile warmly. My heart melted every time he smiled as it always made him look ten times cuter, if that was even possible. "Come on, I have a surprise for you," I said, pulling him into my bedroom and showing him how I had transformed it into a cosy paradise. He chuckled lightly and dropped his bag to the floor.
"Thanks (y/n)," he said as I passed him a pair of his sweatpants he kept in my room.
"Now put these on and we'll have a relaxing night, I can even give you a massage if you want," I smiled at him and he pulled me in for a hug. I couldn't help but smile against his shoulder as I snuggled against him, him then pulling away to change. I averted my eyes as we hadn't seen each other in limited clothing just yet, merely each others pyjamas when we slept together unbeknownst to Aizawa.
When he was done the two of us scrambled onto the bed, him sitting in between my legs and with his back up against my torso. I kissed the top of his head, bringing my hands up and massaging his shoulders that seemed to be a little stiff. "I'm glad it's over," Shoto suddenly said as I dug my thumbs into his shoulder blades.
"Hm, me too," I agreed, bitterly thinking about the girl from Shiketsu who couldn't keep her hands off of my boyfriend. When I went to watch him physical training last week she stared at me evilly whilst trying to wrap her arms around an awkward looking Shoto. Of course he was ignorant to what she was trying to achieve but I wasn't, and at the end of the day I remembered going down and kissing Shoto passionately in front of everyone, not caring if they were watching. When I pulled away I saw Shoto with bright red cheeks whilst I smirked at looked at the girl who was glaring at me. The satisfaction I felt in that moment was incredible, but I didn't like the thought of Shoto still training with her but he didn't have a choice. "What did they have you doing today?"
"We had to get people out of a skyscraper whilst it was being attacked by Gang Orca's men," Shoto sighed. "Seems as though they put us through much more intense situations than the actual licence exam did."
"Well it's over now, you have your licence and hopefully you'll be hired by an agency soon, I'm sure plenty are wanting to scout you," I praised him and he chuckled.
"So what's on the agenda tonight?" He asked and I smiled.
"That's simple, a film, snacks and cuddles. Thoughts?" I said and he snuggled into me.
"Fine by me," he said lazily, taking my hands and wrapping them around him. I could barely handle my boyfriends cuteness, his clinginess being so unexpected. I loved it though, as it showed everyone he was mine and I was his. The way he'd randomly hold me whether in public or not, the way he'd suddenly lean his head against my shoulder or kiss me on the head made me flustered but happy. I had a feeling this desperation for physical affection stemmed from having barely any since his mum was sent to hospital when he was five.
He'd told me all about his childhood and sometimes I had to act like a therapist whenever it was getting him down. It's why it angered me so much that Endeavour even dared to show his face at Shoto's licence exam training. If I had the confidence to I would've gone up to him and given him a piece of my mind however I was too scared to - after all, if he was willing to send his wife to hospital and accusing her of being mad as well as abusing his son and neglecting his other children, I dreaded to think what he'd do to the people who weren't even his family. It angered me that he was the number one hero. He may've been good at his job but he definitely does not deserve the praise that comes with it.
"(y/n), you alright?" Shoto asked, snapping me from my bitter thoughts of his father.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. Right, I've got snacks in that bag there and I've got Your Name set up on the laptop. How does that sound?"
"Perfect," he leant up and gave me a sweet peck before grabbing the bag, me grabbing the laptop and tissues. We set ourselves up, burying ourselves amongst the blankets and cuddling up against each other closely. Going on dates outside to sweet cafés and parks were nice, but cuddling up under blankets and watching a film felt just as perfect.
We started the film, the box of tissues in front of us as we knew we'd need them. Throughout it I fed Shoto some of the sweets I had bought, wanting him to simply relax after the strenuous few weeks he had had. It seemed as though he was grateful, a small smile never leaving his lips as I pampered him. "These are delicious," he commented on the small cakes I was feeding him.
"I'd love to take credit, but Sato helped me make them," I admitted and he chuckled. His laugh was very rare, and it made me feel so happy that I was one of the few that got to hear it. It felt perfect just being here with him, and he tried to subtly cry as we watched the film but the occasional sniffle gave it away, making me chuckle a little. By the end we were both crying and there were tissues scattered everywhere, but the beautiful ending made us both feel warm inside.
"I'm so glad you finished the licence exam training, I've missed being able to cuddle you like this," I whispered, holding him tightly.
"I've missed holding you like this," he admitted and I smiled into his chest. "(y/n) I- I have something I want to tell you," he mumbled, nerves in his voice. I looked up at him, slightly confused and a part of me worrying that it was going to be something bad.
"O-okay," I wanted him to continue. His heterochromatic eyes spent a moment just looking at my face, soaking up my features. I waited patiently for him to continue, and when he finally spoke I thought my heart had exploded.
"I love you."
My eyes went wide and happiness filled me like air in a balloon. He looked nervous but relaxed a little when a large smile appeared on my face. I couldn't help but lean in a kiss him, our lips passionately moving against each others lovingly.
When we pulled apart he looked at me, hopeful. "I love you too," I whispered, my heart rate increasing. This time it was him who initiated the kiss, pulling me in and holding me tightly. The kiss was perfect, as were all of them, but now it felt so much warmer and romantic as we now fully understood each others feelings.
It was then that we realised it was getting a little late and that we should probably get to sleep ready for school in the morning. "Do you want to go back to your room to sleep? I know you don't like sleeping in places you don't feel really comfortable," I said, knowing Shoto like the back of my hand.
"I'm more than happy staying here. After all, I feel comfortable laying here with you," he said sweetly and I felt my cheeks heat up at his overly sweet comment. I hid my head in his chest, smiling and knowing that I loved this clingy and surprisingly romantic boy more than I thought possible.
