- Todoroki's POV -
As soon as we had finished I knew I had utterly messed up. Even during I wanted to stop but she kept on going. I had told her to leave straight after the incident, her attempting to stay but I was adamant, particularly when she tried to say she was better than (y/n). Even just thinking about (y/n) now hurt my heart. I had been with her for three years, we were living together but in the past hour I had taken her loyalty and love for granted and did the scummiest thing I could - I slept with Yaoyorozu.
My head in my hands as I sat at my desk after Yaoyorozu left, I glanced at the picture of (y/n) and I that was sat on my desk, followed by the sofa Yaoyorozu and I had just had sex on. I loved (y/n) with all my heart and I had no idea how I had ended up in a situation such as that with Yaoyorozu. My heart was breaking at my infidelity, at my cowardice, and I was already terrified of (y/n) finding out and leaving me.
I decided to head home but as I reached our shared apartment my whole body began trembling with nerves. I stepped into our open plan apartment, and just seeing her on the other side of the room in front of a pot of boiling noodles broke my heart. How could I have been so reckless and stupid? "Shoto! You're home! Food will be ready soon-,"
"I need to take a shower," I said quickly, shocking (y/n) with my tone and darting quickly towards the bathroom. Whilst the water fell onto me I looked down at my body, remembering the way I was touched merely an hour before. Perhaps it was because we had been together for three years, perhaps it was because she's the only girlfriend I've ever had, perhaps I felt as though there wasn't enough excitement in our relationship and that's what drove me to infidelity, but as soon as I saw (y/n) stood in that kitchen with a smile on her face, cooking food for the two of us I realised just how much I truly loved her.
- (y/n)'s POV -
"Shoto are you okay? You're acting strange," I chuckled, the two of us eating the food I'd prepared for us. He had come out of the shower a few moments ago, and I thought his eyes were a little red but it may have just been due to the hot water.
"I'm fine... thank you for the food (y/n), it's delicious," he said suddenly, shocking me.
"You don't have to be so formal Shoto," I laughed, scooting round to his side of the table and snuggling up against him. He seemed to stiffen at my action, before he quickly but his bowl and chopsticks down, then wrapping his arms around me tightly.
"I really do love you (y/n)," he whispered lovingly, burying his head in my neck. I was slightly confused by his sudden intimacy but I didn't refuse it and instead hugged him back just as tight.
"I love you too, idiot."

My best friend Katsuki Bakugou and I had known each other since we were young. I was among the only people who could put him in his place, and it seemed as though he respected me for it. He was very protective over me also, almost like a brother, so when Shoto and I first got together Katsuki warned him that if he hurt me, he'd hurt him. It was an empty threat though, as Katsuki knew that if he hurt my boyfriend, I'd get very angry with him.
Today the two of us were meeting up as we always did at least once a week. We'd always take a stroll through the park near my apartment, taking in the scenery and talking about random things. Today though Katsuki seemed to be acting odd, just like Shoto had been over the past couple of days. He was much quieter than usual, which was definitely out of the ordinary, but there also seemed to be something on his mind. After five solid minutes of silence, I finally decided to find out what was wrong with him.
"You're acting very strange Katsuki," I started with.
"Huh?"
"It's funny, both you and Shoto have been acting odd around me," I observed and I suddenly saw him clench his fists.
"Why, what's he been doing?" He asked through gritted teeth.
"Well he's been a lot more cuddly recently, and he's even been bringing me flowers home. Last night he even asked me where I wanted to get married! I thought he was going to propose to me there and then but he didn't-,"
"Don't marry him (y/n)!" Katsuki suddenly said, catching me off-guard.
"What?"
"You can't marry him," he assured me and I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Katsuki, what's going on?" I was slightly irritated by his words. He sighed and took my hand, the pair of us walking to a more secluded area of the park.
"For the past few days I've been trying to figure out how to tell you, but..." Katsuki sighed. "He's cheating on you, (y/n)."
I thought for a second I had misheard him, but there was a serious look on his face. "Oh c'mon Katsuki, you almost had me there!" I laughed at the joke.
"I'm not lying (y/n), the other day I saw him with Creati!" Katsuki insisted. He was speaking so seriously that I was beginning to get a little worried.
"T-they're both pro heroes, of course they'd team up..." I mumbled.
"No (y/n), they were together. I saw them in his office. I went to talk about a raid coming up and I saw him with her-,"
"You're lying," I almost begged.
"I'm not lying, I knew you wouldn't believe me though so I took photos for evidence... I don't know if you want see them..." he said carefully, still bringing out his phone and handing it to me. I dared to look on the screen and in that moment my heart shattered into a million pieces. Katsuki was right; there sat on the sofa in Shoto's office was my naked boyfriend being straddled by a naked Yaoyorozu.
I felt feint and almost fell over had it not been for Katsuki who caught me. I refused to believe it was real but Katsuki had the photo evidence, plus I trusted Katsuki with my life. Immediately I began to wonder what was wrong with me, was there something about me that pushed him away to the point where he'd have sex with someone else? Was there something about me that wasn't satisfying him?
"(y/n) for gods sake you can't blame yourself for this," it seemed as though years of friendship meant that Katsuki could read my thoughts. "He's the bastard here, he's the one that needs to pay for this, for treating you so horribly and attempting to get away with it. (y/n) listen to me, there's nothing wrong with you."
"B-but there must be- w-why Katsuki- why would he do this to me?" My voice was barely audible.
"I honestly don't know, he's an idiot for thinking there's any other girl better than you," Katsuki pulled me into a hug and I broke down against his chest, clinging onto his top. His warmth and smell usually brought me comfort but in this situation it was incredibly hard to find consolation. The image on Katsuki's phone was haunting me, despite only seeing it for half a second. I couldn't get it out of my brain as I cried and cried, Katsuki attempting to calm me down by rubbing circles on my back.
It took a while but I managed to calm down at least a little, looking up into Katsuki's red eyes. "W-what should I do?" I mumbled.
"Only you can decide that," he said simply.
"I just need time to think, time away," I mumbled and he nodded.
"Come and stay with me and Eijirou, we've got a spare room after all," Katsuki offered and I nodded with a smile. Together the two of us went back to the apartment I shared with my boyfriend, my heart in pieces. I felt numb as I entered, the place seeming so unfamiliar now. There were pictures of Shoto and I on the walls, smiling and laughing together but seeing them now just made me feel sick.
I almost fell over, crying in heartbreak at the fact Shoto Todoroki who I thought was the kindest, most loving person I had ever met would be willing to have sex with another woman. Thankfully Katsuki didn't say anything and instead crouched down beside me, holding me and letting me sob.
I wasn't sure how long I was crouched on the floor crying, but I soon found myself feeling dehydrated, unable to cry any more. "I need to get out of here," I whispered.
"C'mon then, lets get you up, pack some stuff then we can be on our way," he said, heading to the kitchen to get me some water. Moments later Katsuki was packing up a few of my things from the bathroom into a suitcase I had given him, whilst I was collecting some of my things in the lounge. The sound of the front door caused me to look up and see Shoto walking into the apartment, him smiling at me straight away. I wasn't sure it was possible but somehow my heart hurt even more when I saw him in person.
I was still in love with him, my feelings for him weren't like a switch. He was still my boyfriend and I loved him with every ounce of my body despite the unbearable pain inside of me that was stronger than ever now that he was standing in front of me. "(y/n)... what're you doing?" Shoto's face fell when he saw the travel bag in my hand. I didn't respond and just stared at him. A look of dread washed over him as he realised I knew his little secret. "(y-y/n)-,"
"(y/n) which is your toothbrush-," Katsuki emerged from the bathroom, seeing the situation. My eyes were only on my boyfriend however, and his guilt-filled ones were on me.
"I'm leaving for a little while, Shoto," I finally mumbled, breaking the eerie silence.
"No- no (y/n) please, please don't-," Shoto tried to step forward towards me but Katsuki stopped him.
"Fuck off, don't you dare go near her-,"
"She's my girlfriend!"
"A girlfriend you betrayed!" Katsuki shouted and Shoto went quiet. He suddenly pushed past Katsuki and headed straight for me, my feet glued firmly on the floor preventing me from moving. "(y/n), (y/n) please, I love you, I love you more than anything in this world you have to believe me!" He grabbed my shoulders tightly, looking at me with desperation in his eyes.
"T-then why?" I whispered, on the verge of breaking down again. Shoto stayed quiet, apparently trying to desperately think of something to say.
"There's nothing I can say without it sounding like an excuse," he finally whispered, tears pooling in his heterochromatic eyes. "Please (y/n), I love you so much, I never meant for this to happen-,"
"I'm leaving Shoto," I pulled myself from his grasp and grabbed my bag.
"No (y/n), please! Please don't leave me!" Shoto tried to run after me but Katsuki stopped him, pushing him back.
"You don't deserve her," Katsuki growled lowly, taking my hand and pulling me towards the door.
"No (y/n) I'm begging you! Please, I love you!" Shoto shouted, his voice breaking and tears fell down my cheeks at a rapid pace but I kept on walking. "I'm sorry (y/n), I'm so so sorry! Please (y/n)!"
Still I walked, out of the flat and down the stairs, having to cover my mouth in an effort to conceal my sobs. His heartbroken voice played on repeat inside my head, his 'I love you's making my heart hurt every time I heard them.
By the time I was at Katsuki's, my phone had buzzed so many times with missed calls and texts that I had to turn it off. I even handed it to Katsuki for a while in an effort to prevent myself from giving in and replying to him.
I smiled as best I could at Eijirou. Him quickly giving his boyfriend a peck before he told him everything that happened. The red-head seemed completely speechless, and Katsuki led me to spare room which was conveniently already set up. I stayed in there for the rest of the day, the guys leaving me food and drink just outside the door.

Bravely I knocked on the door, not really knowing what would happen when he opened it. It had been a week since I had left the apartment, however things between Shoto and I were never really sorted, so I knew I had to speak with him. Katsuki kept on telling me how bad of an idea he was, how much of an idiot Shoto was for cheating on me in the first place but Eijirou encouraged me to go and speak to him, saying that it's a chance to sort things as he could see clearly that I still loved Shoto. He pointed out that if we couldn't get things fixed then it was an opportunity for closure, something I'd need if things weren't going to go well.
I heard movement inside and when the door opened I saw Shoto standing there, it clear that he hadn't been looking after himself. His hair was a mess, he hadn't shaved in days, he was dressed in sweats and his eyes were red and puffy. "(y-y/n)," he acknowledged it was me.
"Can I come in?" I asked quietly.
"You don't need to ask... this is your home too," he mumbled, walking back in. I followed him, letting the door shut and gasping at the sight. It wasn't just his appearance he wasn't keeping up anymore, the entire apartment was a mess. The cushions from the sofas had been thrown around, there were pots piling high in the kitchen sink, there were empty takeaway cartons scattered around the place. That was when one particular thing caught my attention. On the small table next to the sofa was a small box which was open, it revealing a beautiful engagement ring. I gasped and couldn't stop myself from picking it up, my favourite gemstone glistening brightly in the gold band. "Oh... that... I was gonna give it you before everything, and hope you'd say yes," he mumbled so quietly, the heartbreak in his voice strong.
Hearing him say this caused me to break down. I wanted to be stronger but I couldn't, I was too weak. "Why Shoto- why did this have to happen? Why?"
"I'm sorry (y/n), I'm so so sorry, you have no idea how horrible I feel, how distraught I feel," he turned to face me quickly, grabbing my shoulders. "I love you (y/n), I love you with all my damn heart I swear it! I'd swear it in front of the whole world! I can't live without you (y/n), please I'm begging you to take me back, I know what I did was wrong and I don't know why it happened I just- I just know that I am desperately, head over heels in love with you and I can't live without you in my life!" He cried, tears flowing from his gorgeous eyes like a waterfall.
He collapsed on his knees and wrapped his arms around my waist, refusing to let go as he cried against my stomach. "S-Shoto-,"
"Please don't leave me, I can't live without you," he pleaded my heart shattering with each word. His hold on me felt familiar, felt loving and it was clear he was racked with guilt at what he had done. It seemed as though this guilt was tearing him apart judging by the state of him, the state of the apartment, the strewn tissues and the empty boxes they were once held in. I had to tell him the truth.
"Shoto... I still love you," I whispered and he looked up at me quicker than light. His eyes were red and puffy but there was a gleam of hopefulness in them.
"R-really?"
"Yes... but you hurt me, in a way I never thought you ever would," I said, trying to sound angry but just sounding broken.
"I know," he admitted. "I hurt me too... it's all my fault, I don't deserve your forgiveness at all, but please let me be selfish, please let me hold you and love you, I've missed holding onto these hands," he took ahold of them. "I've missed seeing this beautiful face," he cupped my cheeks. "I've missed kissing your irresistible lips," tears were pouring from both of our eyes as he brushed his fingertips gently against my lips. "I really don't deserve it but please (y/n), I'd be so lost without you..."
I clutched onto him tightly, crying into his chest. His hold, his smell, this place, him himself, I had missed and craved it all so much. I didn't want to let go. I could see his love for me in his eyes, I could hear it in his voice and words as he spoke, I could feel it by the way he was holding onto me tightly. He really did love me, and I loved him more than anything, despite what had happened. "I don't think I can ever forgive you Shoto," I mumbled quietly and I heard him let out a sob. "B-but I still want to be with you..."
"Y-you do?" He seemed to wonder whether he'd heard me right.
"I do, because I still love you," I whispered, cupping his cheeks and attempting to wipe away the endless stream of tears falling from his eyes. "I'll never be able to forgive such a thing," I enforced that fact. "But I'll try to forget it."
It looked as though he was trying to say something but couldn't quite get the words out. He wrapped his arms around me tightly, lifting me up into the air. Emotions were spilling out of both of us endlessly until we found ourselves just standing there, holding onto each other. "(y/n) can I- can I kiss you?" He asked nervously and I let out a light chuckle, my first in a week.
"You're my boyfriend Shoto, you don't have to ask," I smiled and he immediately planted his familiar lips onto mine. A rush of warmth flooded my body completely, my heart being sewn back together by this simple yet loving gesture. The love we had for each other was endless, timeless and perfect.

My eyes slowly fluttered open, it taking me a moment to realise my surroundings. I was laid against something warm, me soon realising that it was my boyfriend Shoto. We were sat sideways on the sofa, half laying down, me being spooned by him. He was watching me, his hand running therapeutically through my hair. "Morning," he whispered, his voice hoarse. After last nights emotional conversations my face felt dry from all of the crying, and his seemed the same way, his eyes still red and puffy. He was smiling though, and still hadn't taken his eyes off of me.
"Morning," I replied, snuggling up against him. Despite everything that had happened I could only now think of Shoto and I, and how much we loved each other. That was when I remembered one very specific thing about yesterday.
I reached over to the table next to the sofa and took the small box holding the ring. I simply pulled it out and slipped it on my ring finger, looking back at him and seeing his slightly shocked face. "Yes," I said simply. I saw his bottom lip quiver as he smiled brightly, burying his head into my neck and holding me tightly.
"I love you (y/n), forever and always," he whispered lovingly.
"Forever and always."
