Quirk: Shadow Manipulation

 During lunch we all stared out of the windows, watching the snow fall creating a thick layer of white powder on the grassy fields outside. We were all desperate to run outside and have fun but it was only lunch time. "Isn't it romantic, Shoto?" I asked my boyfriend who was standing next to me. Blush adorned his cheeks as his eyes widened a bit. He always became easily flustered since he had developed a crush on me and asked me to be his girlfriend, but I always found that so cute.

"U-uh... yeah?" He answered in more of a question way. I giggled, holding onto his hand.

"Ugh get a room," Bakugou said behind us.

"C'mon, we're just holding hands," I laughed but he rolled his eyes and slunk away. Shoto held me a little tighter to him, as despite him being easily flustered he was also very protective.

"Hey you guys!" Midoriya suddenly said excitedly. "Do you know what we should do?" We all shrugged our shoulders before he carried on. "A snowball fight! We could pair up and have a mini battle! What do you think?"

"Sounds really fun Deku, lets do it!" Ochaco said excitedly.

"I'm in," Tsu croaked.

"Count us in too!" I added, pulling Shoto with me.

"Come on, let's round everyone up and see who wants to join!" Midoriya beamed.

"Not seen him this excited in a while," Shoto whispered to me making me giggle a little. We had managed to round up a few class mates and we each decided to our teams. Naturally Shoto and I paired together, but the other pairs consisted of Midoriya and Iida, Tsu and Ochaco, Kirishima and Kaminari, Ojiro and Toru, Kyoka and Momo. We all waited anxiously until the bell signalling the days end sounded. I jumped up and made my way over to Shoto's desk as he cleared away all his books into his bag.

"Are you ready to thrash everyone at this snowball fight?" I asked with a smirk on my face.

"Don't be too confident, we're up against the queen of stealth: Hagakure," Shoto said.

"How dare you call somebody else a queen apart from your girlfriend," I teased in a fake insulted voice, but he simply rolled his eyes. "Plus it's way too cold for her to be walking around naked." We agreed with the rest of the crew to meet outside the dorms once we were changed and ready, so when I got back to the dorms I put on my warmest coat and the hat, gloves and scarf set Shoto had gotten me. I headed over to his door and knocked. "Ready?" I asked once he answered it.

"Definitely," he said with a slight smile. He slipped on a jacket and we headed downstairs, meeting everyone outside.

"So what's the play?" Toru asked.

"I say we run into the forest, and in two minutes we start the fight?" I suggested and everyone nodded happily.

"Do we have any rules?" Iida asked. "I think the game should last fifteen minutes and whichever couple has stayed the driest wins?"

"Sounds good to me," Ochaco said.

"Ready?"

"On your marks... get set... go!" I shouted and immediately Shoto took my hand and dragged me into the forest away from the others. The other pairs scattered themselves around and I turned catching one last glimpse of them all before they vanished into the dense forest. We stopped in a clearing, Shoto using his ice power to create a shelter. "Good idea!" I said, crouching down beside it.

"No, this is just a decoy to attract the others. They think we'll be hiding under there but instead we'll be up in the trees. Your quirk can get us up there, can't it?" He said. I was quite surprised at his tactical thinking.

"Yeah it can, here," I said, creating my shadow arms and lifting him up into the thick trees, him landing on one of the branches. I then pulled myself up and stood right next to him, him putting his arm around my waist to prevent me from falling. I was pressed up against his warm side, which felt good against the cold. In his right hand he began making shards of ice, stacking them up tall next to us. "Shoto! We can't throw block of ice!" I shouted.

"Sure we can," he said nonchalantly making more.

"No we can't, someone could get seriously injured!"

"Well then that's their fault for not having better defences," Shoto simply said. "Shh, I hear someone coming."

"Don't shh me- mmph!" I said but was interrupted by his lips. He pulled away and looked cheekily into my eyes.

"Now shh," he said. Over his shoulder I spotted an unsuspecting Kirishima and Kaminari, just walking freely through the forest. We were quiet, watching them stop as they spotted our 'base'.

"Look! (l/n) and Todoroki must be hiding in there!" We heard Kaminari say, quickly bending down and creating a few snowballs.

"Wait! Neither of them are stupid... something tells me this is a trap- AHH!" Kirishima shouted as Shoto began throwing his ice and I got my shadows to shake the snow covered branches that grew above them. In less then a minute they were drenched head to toe in powdered snow but that didn't stop them retaliating. They immediately readied their snowballs but Shoto quickly made an ice slide, grabbing onto my waist and sliding away from them, only being hit by one of their snowballs. Once we reached the bottom we ran until we heard the sound of Iida's engines. We both stopped and looked around, and I only just managed to block one of the snowballs he had sent our way with my shadow. Behind me Shoto created a massive ice wall, and I heard a big crack telling me Midoriya had attempted to punch threw it. Again I raised my shadows into the air and took ahold of some of the branches that were presumably over Midoriya, and shook them violently.

"There!" I heard Shoto shout, pointing behind me. I whirled around and saw Midoriya on Iida's back, them both pelting snowballs at us. Suddenly however it started raining snowballs on them causing them to fall over, and we turned to the left to see Ochaco and Tsu and join the party. Ochaco was getting ready to float more snowballs. "This isn't good," Shoto observed, so we grabbed each others hand, him creating more ice and throwing it behind us.

"Hey! No ice, that's so unfair!" We heard Ochaco shout just as we were going out of sight.

"That was a close one," I said, but we didn't have time to breath as suddenly Momo and Kyoka popped out form behind trees and started pelting ready made snowballs at us. We caught a few but I quickly hooked my shadow around a branch above us, Shoto clinging on as well as it lifted us up. I collected snow from the branches and threw it back down at them whilst Shoto created a blockade behind us as Ochaco and Tsu had ran after us, and were about to send dozens of snowballs directly at us. "I feel like we're being targeted here!"

Kaminari and Kirishima came back into the picture, throwing their pre-made snowballs towards Momo and Kyoka, apparently not spotting us yet. I decided to pull the same trick yet again, it actually working as well as they were covered in powdered snow. The pair shouted up at us, but we did get hit with snowballs from Momo as we saw she had created a mini catapult. Shoto blasted it with ice and froze it in place, when suddenly I was hit in my back forcefully, almost making me fall out of the tree if Shoto hadn't of caught me. I saw Iida carrying Midoriya who was pelting snowballs left right and centre at everyone. Tsu was jumping high to dodge the oncoming attacks, and suddenly in the middle of all this chaos, snowballs were being thrown from apparently out of nowhere. They were hitting each of us perfectly, and we all realised straight away that it was Toru. Everyone, as though working together, readied their snowballs and aimed to where we thought she may be. I was surprised she had stripped, she must've been completely freezing.

Just as we all threw out balls, Ojiro popped out of nowhere and managed to hit every single one away with his tail. I was quite shocked at his agility, but my shadows were able to cover quite a lot of area, and they made snowballs themselves, throwing them at each individual group. Shoto was hitting away oncoming snowballs with blocks of ice, as well as catching them with his left side and melting them in his hand. A timer went off and Iida pulled out his phone and announced that the game was over. We came down from our tree to join the rest. Judging each other by how snowy they were, we announced Toru and Ojiro the winner. "They didn't come into the fight until late, of course they'd win," Shoto scowled quietly to me.

"Don't be such a sore loser," I laughed. "Come on, I want to take a nice warm shower before I get too cold."

"That's a good idea, I'm freezing," Tsu said. She also looked incredibly sleepy, apparently needing a nap.

"Good game everyone, we ought to play again sometime!" Kirishima said enthusiastically. As we walked back towards the dorm I wrapped my arms around Shoto's waist, walking next to his fire side. I heard Ochaco mumble a sweet 'Aww' under her breath as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder too. Once we were finally in the warmth, showered and changed, I messaged Shoto.

I had gotten used to his simple way of texting, and I smiled when I heard a knock on my door merely seconds later. I answered to see my boyfriend there with slightly damp hair. "I was just coming over anyway," he said with a slight smile. We pecked quickly, and I led him by his hand over to my bed where we settled under the covers, snuggling close to one another lovingly.
