16: Torture

Warning! As the title makes obvious, there'll be torture scenes in this one shot. It's quite heavy, and there'll be mentions of rape (but not detailed). Please be aware of this factor before reading!

Quirk: Hydrokinesis

As Shoto and I were both Pro Heroes, our lives had become incredibly hectic. Together, our quirks worked well and we were always a team, resulting in us being the most famous Pro Hero couple. We'd always get results, and we'd always work quickly and efficiently, as years of being together meant that we knew each other like the back of each others hands. It was midday when I suddenly got a call, the police desperate for our attention. A large junior school went up in flames suddenly, and a lot of the children and teachers were trapped inside. Immediately Shoto and I ran in our hero costumes towards the site, horrified at how strong the blaze was. The area was manic, children were crying loudly, ambulances sirens where whirling and police officers were shouting. I saw Best Jeanist run out of the building carrying three children, all of which had charred faces. He immediately ran back into the burning building, in search for more children as the teachers cried about the ones trapped inside.

"(y/n), I'm going in, you stay out here with Backdraft and try and get this thing under control," Shoto said turning towards me.

"What? You can't go in there!" I clung onto him.

"There's children that need saving, I'll be alright, I promise," he said, leaning in and kissing me passionately. "Get this thing under control for us," he said and I nodded. He ran inside and I starting spraying water from my hands towards the building. Backdraft took the east side and I took the west. Shoto had already managed to carry out six children, and luckily Kirishima, Midoriya and Kendo had managed to join, each heading into the building to help with the rescue. After fifteen minutes it was getting difficult to pull moisture from the air to revert it into water, but I wasn't going to give up. A small cry however caught my attention.

"H-help me! Please!" A small voice said. I looked over through one of the smashed windows to see a small child under a large piece of rubble, and my heart immediately broke.

"S-Shoto! Shoto!" I called, knowing that I shouldn't stop trying to put the fire out completely.

"H-help!" She squealed again. I couldn't stop myself, I immediately jumped through the window towards the helpless girl, coughing from the sudden smoke that hit my face. As gently as I could I lifted the rubble off of her, and she wriggled out quickly. "M-my friend is down there!" She shouted, pointing to the burning classroom door.

"You need to get out, g-go out that w-window-," I said, trying not to cough. In such a deep situation like this my quirk was useless, as there was no moisture in the air. I jumped out of the classroom when an arm wrapped around my body encasing my arms, and a hand appeared over my face with a ragged cloth in it. Before I had a chance to shout out, the cloth was pressed against my nose and mouth, making me breath in the weird smell upon the fabric. After that, everything went dark.

Cold. That was the first thing I remember. A sudden pain in my wrists caused me to flinch and I slowly opened my eyes to realise that I did not recognise where I was. Looking around, I was in a cold, dark, damp room with black stone walls and chains that hung from the ceiling. I looked at my wrists and found myself handcuffed to some chains, my arms spread out in a cross and my feet cuffed together. Luckily I could touch the floor, so my weight wasn't purely on my wrists. "How... did I get here?" I whispered to myself. A sudden panic washed through me as I thought of Shoto, desperately hoping he was alive and well. I heard a metal clang and to the right of me I saw a large door open, and in walked a couple of recognisable faces. Dabi was leading the small group of three, with Toga and Twice behind him.

"Oh goody! She's awake!" Toga squealed excitedly, and I wriggled in my chains, unsuccessfully trying to get free. "Aw, we're going to have some fun with you!"

"What do you want with me? Where's Shoto?" I demanded.

"He's alive, see for yourself," Dabi said, as he took a laptop and projector from Twice. Dabi set the equipment up and on the wall appeared Shoto with red puffy eyes being hounded at by the media. He was walking out of the police station towards a police car, people around him shoving microphones and cameras into his face. Officers had to physically push the journalists away from my boyfriend, who had tears in his eyes. The headline appeared on the screen: 'Half of the famous Pro Hero couple declared missing'.

"No... no, please, what do you want with me!" I screamed at the three of them.

"Whoa, she's feisty," Twice said.

"We want to play with you!" Toga said in her sadistically sweet voice.

"You're a powerful person, (y/n). I think we'll keep you here for a while, until you figure out where your true loyalties lie," Dabi said with a smirk.

"You won't get away with keeping me here, they will find me!" I shouted to them as they walked out.

"No, I don't think they will," Dabi said before slamming the metal door shut, leaving me to watch Shoto's harassment, my heart breaking inside. I needed to see him, to hold him, to tell him I was alive, I hated seeing how the media were treating him, as though his feelings didn't matter. I began to cry uncontrollably, shouting and screaming, kicking and desperate to try and release myself from these cuffs. Little did I know that this was day one of many.

A few weeks had passed and I was hungry, filthy and feeling sick, my heart shattered as once again, like everyday, they'd put on the news to show me the updates on the investigation into my disappearance, and how little they knew about where I had gone. Every single time an image of a broken Shoto would appear, and every single time tears stung as they fell down my cheeks. I had managed to extract very little information from them about what they were planning on doing with me, as the three of them were very discreet. I knew it wasn't only them that had me captured though, as occasionally above me I would hear multiple voices shouting, all muffled through the walls but then the scraping of chairs and the stomping of fighting.

"Hey there!" Toga said excitedly as she and Dabi walked in. "Dabi, can I take some today?"

"Not yet," he said simply.

"Shoto will kill you," I spat at him.

"He won't find you, he'll give up on you."

"No he won't!"

"Yes he will and you know it. They'll give up on looking, pronounce you as dead and Todoroki will live his life, and meet another person."

"No!"

"Yes! Accept that."

I shook my head, tears spilling from my eyes. Dabi looked at me pitifully. "You'll stay down here, or you'll work with us. You decide," he said simply and turned on his heel to walk out with Toga running alongside him. 'So that's their plan,' I thought. 'To keep me down here until I agree to work with them.'

A few more weeks had gone by but I wasn't going to break. Each time they showed me the news, less and less of my disappearance was being talked about, which to me meant that hopefully Shoto wasn't being harassed any more. My captivity however only got worse. I had been trying to count the days I was inside and work out the dates, but now it was just one big blur. There were no windows in the room, only a few low lights so I didn't know if it was day or night. I hadn't felt comfort in what felt like an age, and today was only going to get worse. The door clanged open and in walked Dabi carrying a long leather whip. "You're a pain, you know that? Just come and join us and I won't have to put you through any pain."

"NO!"

"You brought this on yourself."

Two other men who I didn't recognise harshly undid my cuffs, moving me and cuffing me onto two rings that were on a column of wood. I was on my knees, my back facing the rest of the room and I knew what was coming next. One of the men ripped open the back of my suit harshly, and I awaited the pain. I felt the whip and for a millisecond there was no pain, but once it came I screamed out. He lashed again, and again, me repeatedly shouting out as I could feel the blood drip down my back. I tried to keep Shoto in my mind as he was what made me strong. Dabi counted each time he whipped, and I passed out from the pain when he reached twenty-two. Every day for the next fortnight I received the same punishment.

Months must have gone by now as I was curled up on the floor, just hoping that Shoto would burst through the door and save me like a knight in shining armour. I tried to keep his handsome smiling face plastered in my mind, trying not to let this torture take away the one bit of sunshine and happiness I got from just picturing him in my mind. I needed to feel his soft hair, to be snuggled up on his warm side, to kiss his irresistible lips, I needed to be freed from this torture, however it only got worse, and it came in the shape of a four letter word. Rape.

The two men who always held me up for when I was being whipped came in, tore my clothes off and did whatever they wanted to me. I would beg for them to stop and cry out in pain but nothing was going to stop them until they were finished. Once they were satisfied and I was crying, shaking and sitting in a pool of blood and urine, they spat on me and walked out, my hero costume torn upon the ground. I needed this pain to stop, right there and then I just wanted to die, but as soon as I thought that the thought of Shoto came into my mind, leaving me with a very small amount of strength. Later that day Toga came in with a large basin and a hosepipe. She had a small bag with her that contained a hairbrush, some soap and a toothbrush. "Dabi said I could wash you! This is going to be so much fun! Two best friends, doing girly things!" She cheered. "Oh, you look so pale! Here, I need to put these on your hands," She said, roughly taking them and clamping around special quirk resistant restraints to stop me using the water whilst she bathed me. She dragged me into the large metal tub and sprayed me with the hosepipe. I had no energy to move, I felt completely hollow. It was only now however that I realised how dirty I was, being in a grimy place like this with only a hole for a toilet, the weeks of my period left stains on my legs, my hair was greasy, knotted and my skin was spotty and peeling.

She went over my entire body with the soap which made me flinch horrifically as I could only think about the way the men brutally touched me. She then spent a while brushing through my knotted hair, trying desperately to make it smooth. "There! All done!" She said after a few hours, standing up. Suddenly there was a sharp pain in my arm and I looked to see one her needles sticking into me, drawing out some of my blood which was sucked through into a small tank. "Thanks! You're so much fun!" She winked and ran out of the room.

By this point I could't tell how much time had passed. The hope of Shoto running in and rescuing me ended up slipping straight through my fingers. Dabi still liked to put on news stories, making sure not to show the date or time and I just simply lie there on the dirty ground, hopeless, repeatedly being whipped, raped and left to starve for a few days. Toga had told me a while ago that I had been in their captivity for over a year now. It felt like five. I couldn't go on any longer baring the whips, or the starvation, or the rape, I was just desperate to die in that moment, right now.

As usual, I laid curled up on the dirty floor naked, dried blood and scars covering my body head to toe, begging for death to consume me. My wrists ached as the chains around them clung on tightly. Once again I heard bangs from the floor above, but I just laid still, staring at a droplet of blood falling from the most recent injection wounds Toga had given me. The clattering above me got louder but I didn't have the energy to move as I had not been given food or water in three days. There was shooting and scrambling upstairs, the sounds of broken glass and then gunshots. 'Gunshots are new,' I thought to myself, still unable to move.

There was a loud squeaking noise which meant the door had been opened, and I knew that meant either more blood was going to be taken from me, I was going to be whipped or I was going to be raped. "(y-y/n)!" A voice I faintly recognised said. Suddenly there were a pair of arms around me.

"NO! P-PLEASE NO!" I screamed, wriggling desperately.

"Shh, h-hey, it's... it's me, (y-y/n), it's S-Shoto," the voice whispered and I felt a hand brush hair out of my eyes. Slowly I opened the eyes to see the man I was so desperate to see, my heart felt like it had stopped. He was kneeling on the floor next to me, his arm wrapped around my shoulders as he held me close to his body.

"A-am... am I f-finally dead? Please tell me I'm finally dead," I whispered, tears forming quickly in my eyes. He clung onto me tighter, and I felt my cheeks get wet not by my tears but by his. They were constantly dripping from his eyes, apparently unable to stop. He shook his head fast, and brought me even closer to his body.

"N-no you're not dead, (y-y/n), you're h-here with me and I-I will n-never let you go," he whispered, his voice cracking. I broke, took ahold of his shirt and cried desperately into it, screaming and sobbing, realising I had finally been saved. He cradled me and I could hear him cry into my neck. His hold felt good, it felt familiar, and his smell was coming back to me. This was the best I'd felt in over a year, I never wanted to let him go.

"You got her! Is she alright?" I heard a voice ask over my loud cries.

"She needs clothes," Shoto said, trying to sound as though he wasn't crying.

"Roger!" The voice said as it ran off.

"L-let's get you out of these," he sniffed, wiping his crying eyes. He tried to freeze off my handcuffs but nothing would work. "It's alright, I'm g-gonna get you out of h-here," he mumbled. I nodded looking into his familiar eyes. I reached out and touched his cheek, knowing he was really there. He smiled and kissed my hand gently. A man came into the room, averting his eyes and handing Shoto a robe.

"This was found upstairs," the man said, passing Shoto a key. He then left to give us some more privacy.

"Here we go," he mumbled, carefully picking the locks until they came loose and my hands where finally free. He unlocked my legs and I managed to moved them, and stretch them out. I then quickly wrapped my arms around his neck tightly, and he hung onto my waist, grazing one of my cuts but I didn't care. We stayed in each others embrace, never wanting to let go.

"Please s-save me from this h-hell," I mumbled into his neck.

"I'll get you out of here, let's go," he said, his voice breaking in the middle. He helped me to stand and wrapped the robe around my body tightly. He then picked me up bridal style and he walked me out of this hell of a room. "Close your eyes," he mumbled and I did so, burying my head into his chest, clinging onto him desperately. Even being hidden in his shirt, the brightness still blinded and hurt my eyes. "There's a medic here who's going to help you-,"

"D-don't leave me! P-please," I cried, refusing to let go of him.

"I'm never, ever leaving you," he said, kissing my head. He stepped up onto something then placed me gently down on something squishy. I slowly opened my eyes to see that we were inside an ambulance, a kind looking lady smiling politely whilst Shoto sat on the edge of the bed, clutching my hand tightly. I got one last look at the crime scene outside before the lady shut the door; the two men in handcuffs and being ushered into a police car but there were no signs of Dabi, Toga nor Twice.

- Timeskip -

I awoke in a white room, sat upon a soft bed with drips leading into my arms. I felt refreshed and clean, and looked down at my arms to see that all of my cuts were bandaged. I could also feel a bandaged wrapped around my body, protecting my back. "(y/n)!" Shoto suddenly said, bursting open the door.

"Shoto," I whispered. He immediately sat down on my bed and we leaned in, pressing our lips against each others passionately.

"I-I'm so, so sorry I wasn't able to protect you... I f-failed as a b-boyfriend," he whispered, our lips pulling away but remaining so close that I could feel the tears running down his cheeks.

"No, n-no don't say that, you d-didn't fail, you saved me, j-just as I was about to d-die, you saved me," I whispered, my voice wavering.

"(y-y/n), I love you so much," he mumbled, kissing me again as tears streaked down his face.

"And I love you too, thank you for being my hero," I whispered, and we both clung onto each other, tears streaming down our faces, happy to be back into each others arms.

- Time Skip -

After a fortnight I was discharged from the hospital and back to the familiar surroundings of home. Shoto made a promise that he wasn't going to leave me, but after a month he had to go back to his Pro Hero duties, so he'd always make sure someone was around to keep me company, either my sister or Ochaco. It was difficult as I still had nightmares about the place, and I was scared Shoto was going to leave me as I was too scarred to perform sexually in bed, at least for the moment. Thankfully he hadn't tried anything, and Ochaco assured me he'd only do it when he knows I feel ready. Not only that but Shoto kept on telling me that he'd never ever leave me, and that I was stuck with him for life, which made me chuckle a bit through my tears. For most of my time spent at home I was sat on the sofa, eating the foods people had made for me, staring at the television screen or out the window into our back garden.

A lot of the time I sat on the swing that was hooked onto one of the trees in our garden, Shoto sitting beside me, gently cuddling me, making sure to hold onto me as much as he could as he knew I found it therapeutic. Actual therapists came to our house for hour long sessions, as well as nurses who would come daily to check on my heart rate and blood pressure. Every day I felt the need to cry as well as take a shower, as I still felt the dirt and grime of that place on me, along with the horrible feeling of what them men did to me. Shoto would always bathe me delicately, taking care not to hurt my still fairly sore back as he ran the soapy sponge across my body. I felt comfortable when Shoto did this, overjoyed to be back in his half hot half cold arms.

After lunch one day I was laying down on the sofa, my feet up on Shoto's lap as he massaged them. I stared at my loving boyfriend, never wanting to be apart from him ever again. Suddenly his phone rang making me jump, and he squeezed my feet showing me it was okay. "Hello?" He answered it. There was muffled sounds from it, and I couldn't tell what was being said. "What?!" Shoto suddenly exclaimed going wide-eyed. There was more muffled sounds, and I wanted to know what had gotten Shoto so shocked. "She's been here with me all of last night and this morning!"

I stared at my boyfriend, confused, but he nodded and hung up the phone. "Who was that?" I asked quietly. Since everything I had also become increasingly shy, only feeling comfortable near people I trusted and loved.

"Everything's okay, (y/n), a police officer is just coming over to ask you some questions," he said, trying to keep a soothing tone.

"W-what? W-why?" I stuttered, sitting up. He held me in his arms tightly, gently rubbing my back and avoiding my still sore scars.

"It's alright, they just want to ask you a few things, I'll be here the whole time," he whispered in my ear and I slowly nodded. "Can you do this for me?"

"Y-yes, of course," I whispered, still extremely nervous.

"I'm going to make you a fresh drink," he said, standing up and holding my hand, pulling me into the kitchen as he knew I didn't like being on my own, even for a minute. I sat down at the kitchen table as he made me my favourite flavoured smoothie which I had drunk two of everyday since being back. There was a knock on the door and I tensed up, clutching onto my glass tightly. "It's alright," he whispered, kissing me on the head. As soon as he left the room to answer the door my anxiety grew and I glanced around, my heart beating rapidly. Two men I didn't recognise entered the kitchen and I shrieked, jumping off of the chair and running to the other side of the island, towards the back door.

"Hey, hey, (y/n) it's okay, I'm here," Shoto said, appearing from behind them. I ran up to him and hid behind him, staring at the two men. Shoto wrapped his arms around me as I visibly started to shake. "You see? She's still undergoing therapy and she's still... affected by what happened," he said to the men who glanced at each other.

"Yes, we understand Mr Todoroki," one of them said. "(y/n), my name is Detective Sergeant Suma, and this is Detective Inspector Nakamura... we're just here to ask a few questions, nothing more," he said to me in a soft tone.

"They won't hurt you, (y/n), trust me," Shoto whispered, nodding.

"A-are they here to take me away from you?" I asked in a small voice, tears coming to my eyes.

"No, no, they're just here to ask you a few questions," Shoto whispered, kissing my head. "Didn't I tell you that no one is ever going to take you away from me?"

I nodded into his side, still clinging onto him and turning to face the policemen. Shoto sat me back down on my chair, massaging my shoulders comfortingly. "So, (y/n), we just wanted to know where you were last night? About eleven," DS Suma asked.

"I-I was here... with my friend, Ochaco Uraraka... she c-comes to visit when Shoto c-can't... she then went home when Shoto came back," I whispered and the man nodded.

"Where can we find Miss Uraraka?" He asked and I glanced up at Shoto, unsure on whether I should give out that information, but he nodded so I told them her agency address.

"Now, Miss (y/n)... I understand this is a difficult question, but I'm afraid it's one I have to ask... when you were held captive, did you know of any quirks the criminals had?" He asked and I began to shake, thinking back to it all.

"She's already been asked this, plus you said you wouldn't ask her any questions about that place," Shoto said through gritted teeth, gripping onto me tightly.

"Th-there were three, mainly," I mumbled, looking down into my hands. I felt the stare of the three men on me, so slowly I tried to breath steadily to carry on. "O-one had b-blue fire... another had two p-personalities I think but I-I'm not certain... and the g-girl... I couldn't tell w-what her quirk was but she took some of my b-blood," I whispered, shaking. Shoto knelt down beside me, clutching my hands as tears streamed down my face.

"Can you describe this girl?" The other policeman, DI Nakamura, asked. I saw Shoto glare at the man, apparently angry he was asking me these questions.

"I-It's okay, Shoto," I whispered to my boyfriend, who looked at me, concern etched on his face. Despite my trembling and my slight hyperventilation, I carried on. "S-she had blond hair... tied into side buns... she w-was small... crazy yellow eyes... w-wearing school uniform..." I had to stop there as the torture was flooding my mind, the terrors making me shake violently. Shoto wrapped his arms around me protectively and I cried into his shoulder, his warmth slowly calming me.

"Thank you (y/n), you've been very helpful," DI Nakamura said and I nodded, unable to speak. "We'll try and clean this up as quickly as possible, Mr Todoroki, you have my word. We'll let ourselves out."

I heard the two men walk away, and heard the door open and shut. Shoto kissed my head carefully, then wiped away the tears that had stained my cheeks. "That was so brave of you," he whispered, brushing my hair out of my face. I smiled weakly at him.

"Shoto, what was that about? A-and please be honest with me," I said, my voice shaking.

"Alright... it seems as though someone has been disguising themselves as you and... doing bad things... to me it sounds as though it'd be the girl who took your blood, as some sort of DNA quirk," he said. "She's sounds familiar to me, blond hair in side buns who takes people's blood..." My head was swirling, trying to take in the information.

"T-they know it wasn't me don't they?" I asked quickly and he nodded.

"Of course they do... you have an alibi and, well... you're not well enough to go outside yet," he said truthfully and I nodded, knowing he was right. "They'll find whoever is behind this, and I'll help them do so. We have to make sure that now, more then ever, you're with somebody all the time, preferably Uraraka or Midoriya." Knowing that they were amongst the small amount of people I now felt comfortable with, he called the pair of them to tell them the situation, and to let Ochaco know that the police are likely to visit her very soon.

Over the next few weeks I had found that all over the news was my imposter committing crimes. DI Nakamura and DS Suma had been back to visit occasionally, asking more questions about my captivity and putting a police officer on the gate of our house. The crimes started out as just robberies of stores, but they soon became more and more extreme, including kidnapping children and setting fire to buildings. Thankfully, however, there had been no murders. Every time I glanced at the news, the presenters were asking the question of 'has her captivity by villains caused her to loose sanity and become one?'. Without fail, whenever I'd see this I couldn't help but break down, tears streaming down my face uncontrollably, Shoto, Ochaco, Midoriya and my sister trying their best to comfort me. News was spreading fast all over the city, and despite Shoto's best attempts to shield me from the news, I couldn't get away from the people that stood outside our house shouting abuse. The therapists had their work cut out for them as I was almost beginning to have seizures due to the stress and fear I was experiencing.

Another few weeks passed and the commotion was only growing, however DI Nakamura came to us one morning with good news. "Miss (l/n), Mr Todoroki, we think we may have found where the villains responsible for this mess are hiding," he told us. "We only think, mind you, so please try not to get your hopes up that this commotion will die down. We've had undercover police officers observing the building every day, and we've spotted people in the windows of the building that match your description you gave us of the villains. We already had one of the villains, Twice, on our system. As we speak we have armed police officers and Pro Heroes surrounding the building, and they should be moving in at any second," he said, checking his watch. I looked up at Shoto, hopeful, but Shoto kept his straight face, apparently still concerned.

"You do realise that they kept her hidden from every police officer and Pro Hero for over a year, don't you?" He pointed out.

"Yes, we understand that Mr Todoroki, but we've been working none stop for the past month and a half, day and night, working with every one of the police forces in the city in order to capture these criminals. We need to contain them as soon as we possibly can, if they managed to capture Miss (l/n), a famous Pro Hero, then we need to make sure we get them before they bring this kind of harm to anyone else," he said.

"I need to go, they have to know they messed with the wrong person," Shoto said through gritted teeth.

"Mr Todoroki I would advise you not to do so... please, we need you to stay here with Miss (l/n). We will apprehend them. We have the help of the number one Pro Hero who I believe is a friend?"

"Midoriya? Yes, he is," I mumbled.

"Please trust in us," DI Nakamura said confidently. Shoto finally nodded, and DI Nakamura excused himself, saying he was heading to the scene. All we could do was sit and wait, hoping that in a few hours the criminals would be apprehended. We sat on the sofa in silence, and I could tell what Shoto was thinking. Despite his stoic expression, I could read him like a book.

"Please don't think you're useless in this situation," I mumbled, and he looked at me, surprised. "You're helping me, I know you want to make sure they get apprehended but we have to trust Midoriya and Nakamura with this, I would much rather have you here then out there."

He sighed and pulled me in for a tight hug, kissing my head. "I know, I know," he whispered. As we cuddled tightly, we both waited in anticipation but ended up drifting off into a sleep, his left side warming my shaking body.

Hours had passed when fluttered my eyes open, and I could smell ramen being made in the kitchen, making my stomach grumble, only just realising how hungry I was. Shoto was missing from my side, so I assumed he had gone to make the food. I walked slowly into the kitchen to find him next to the cooker, and I jumped towards Shoto when I saw DS Suma standing next to the island. "Hey, you're awake," Shoto said. "You hungry?" I simply nodded, and he handed me a dish of the food. "It's good news, (y/n)."

"We have managed to apprehend two out of the three villains, one of which was the girl who openly confessed about turning into you. We also found small test tube of your blood she must've taken from you, and we've made sure that it'll be disposed of properly. We want to thank you for your help in this case, if it hadn't of been for you we wouldn't of captured them. You've helped save peoples lives, (y/n). Not only that, but the media are going crazy, apologising for the assumption you had... turned. They're all over this story," the sergeant said. It felt as though a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders. I started hyperventilating, tears of happiness streaming down myself. The feeling of weakness had suddenly disappeared, knowing that they had been captured and will be locked away for their crimes. Shoto came up to me and hugged me tightly, he too was overjoyed.

"Thank you, thank you so much," I said to DS Suma, and he smiled brightly, saying he was glad to be of service to us. He then left us alone, and we held onto each other tightly.

"You're completely free now, (y/n)," he whispered in my ear. I nodded into his chest, completely elated. There was a knock at our door and in walked Midoriya, Ochaco and my sister, all here to celebrate. It was a week later and I began to feel like I was going back to my old cheery self, knowing now that my captors were away for life. Slowly I started being able to go outside, taking longer and longer walks, but Shoto still wouldn't let me go alone, which I appreciated. I began to use my quirk again, thanks to the help of my friends, and despite knowing that I will forever be scarred by what happened in my underground cell, I was back to my old self. All was well.
