Secret Keeping -or- Allies and/or Enemies
[The League of Villains lock down all the students of 1A in the school and reveal to them that Deku was quirkless but inherited One For All from All Might. Deku manages to run and a chase begins through the school. Bakugo helps Deku, because now they train together for him to improve One For All feat. IzuOcha and KiriBaku.

"How did they even get into the school?"
"Better question, how are they staying undetected? They've been here since sometime last night, haven't they? 'Cause they already had us on lock down by the time we woke up, and yet it doesn't seem like the faculty have even realized they're here."
"We have a new addition to the League," Shigaraki said smugly, interrupting Hagakure and Uraraka's hushed conversation. He held a tablet up to their faces, and on the screen was the silhouette of a thin person of unidentifiable gender, lit only by the faint blue light of a computer screen. "Say hello, Techie."
"Hello Techie," said the figure on the screen, presumably Techie, with a voice as unidentifiable as the person themself.
"Tch," Shigaraki scoffed at Techie's sarcasm and drew the screen back. "So uncool."
"Hey guys, there's a steel panel over my bedroom window, is something going on?" Asked Sero as he stepped out of the elevator, rubbing his eyes, ever the late riser. When he saw everyone in the common room under the watchful eyes of the League of Villains, his eyes shot wide open and his mouth snapped shut. He felt his arms go limp at his sides and his feet carried him towards the group, seemingly on their own. He was useless to resist them.
"Finally," Shigaraki said. "It looks like you're all here, so I've got something to tell you." He slowly lifted his right arm to point dramatically at Midoriya. "This one here... has been lying to all of you."
"What are you talking about!" Iida demanded, slashing his hands through the air until his movements stopped abruptly and he glared at his motionless hands in frustration for a moment before speaking again. "Midoriya is our esteemed friend and classmate! He has no reason to lie to us."
"Oh but he does," Shigaraki argued, apparently satisfied with Iida's reaction. "You see Midoriya's been keeping secrets, and I know you must be so curious what they are. Don't worry, I won't keep you in suspense."
"Listen bastard!" Bakugo started to say.
"Mute him," Shigaraki ordered, apparently to no one.
"Nobody gives a shit abou—" Bakugo's mouth kept moving, but no sound came out. He visibly snarled in anger, and they didn't have to be expert lip-readers to recognize the foul curses that shaped his mouth, but he was silent. As were the rest of them.
"You need to be more specific than 'him' Shigaraki," complained Techie's voice from the tablet Shigaraki held carefully in his hands. "I can't recognize just their voices, so I had to hit 'mute all'. Which one exactly did you want off? I know the kid that controls animals has to be muted, which was the one you were just talking about."
"It's Bakugo, Techie." He waited a moment before continuing, sounding exasperated. "As I was saying, Izuku Midoriya is not who you think he is. He's a hero wannabe who stole the quirk from the number one hero because he didn't have one of his own."
"I didn't steal anything," Midoriya argued.
"It's not really yours, though, is it? One-For-All? It's not your quirk. You didn't deserve it." Midoriya glared in frustration, but kept his mouth shut. "Nothing to say?"
"It's my quirk," Midoriya told him finally. "He's lying."
"Why should we believe you?" Kirishima asked Shigaraki, looking thoroughly unimpressed. "You don't have any proof, and you've done nothing but try to kill us repeatedly, so we have no reason to take your word for it."
"Kirishima is correct," Iida said. "All you're doing is trying to sow discord among us, and we will not allow that to happen. We trust Midoriya, and as Kirishima stated, we do not trust you. Your words carry no weight with us, so if all you came here to do was confuse us with your lies, you may as well leave now."
"Well that's no fun," Shigaraki snarled, scratching at his neck. "I came here to enlighten you with the truth and you're telling me I'm lying just because you don't like what I have to say? That's no fair. Techie, make them believe me."
"You already know I can't do that, Shigaraki," Techie reminded him, voice as deadpan as ever. Shigaraki scoffed and turned his head away from the tablet petulantly.
"We're telling you you're lying because we literally have no reason to believe you're telling the truth," Uraraka corrected him. Her hands were laid awkwardly across her lap, but she couldn't move them, even though it was getting uncomfortable. "Even if we did trust you, what you're saying is ridiculous. It's impossible to take someone else's quirk from them. Even things like what Monoma from class B does is just copying quirks, not stealing them, because that's not something that can happen."
"But it did happen! I'm telling you the truth!"
"Yeah fucking right," Kirishima scoffed and rolled his eyes. "And pigs fly, and Yoshihiri Togashi has stopped procrastinating on writing a new chapter of Hunter x Hunter." Bakugo snorted soundlessly and looked at him with a proud grin.
"Techie, mute that hardening kid too," Shigaraki ordered petulantly.
"Bitch—" Kirishima managed to add before his voice cut off, and Bakugo looked even prouder than before.
Shigaraki continued trying to convince them of his honestly, to no avail, for several minutes, having Techie mute each of the students one by one as they protested, none-too-kindly for the most part. After a little less than an hour of this, Shigaraki's increasingly frustrated lecture was interrupted when Techie interrupted with a quiet curse.
"Well shit, that's not good," Techie muttered.
"What is it, what's wrong?" Shigaraki asked.
"My computer froze," Techie said. "Pretty soon the applications are going to start crashing, starting with the ones that use the most energy."
"And that means?"
"Probably that one kid you hate so much first, then maybe the explodey one, or maybe the half-cut one, or that girl with the ponytail, or the bird boy," Techie said. "Who can say."
"You can say, dammit Techie, it's you're job to say!"
"I'm sorry the signal is shit, Crusty," Techie said, not sounding very sorry at all, "but I'm more concerned about the info I'm patching into the school system than any of these little shits. If the system alerts the faculty to our break-in we are well and truly toast. How much damage can eleventh graders do?"
"More damage than you'd think," Bakugo said. He was starting to get feeling back in his body, and his speaking was a signal to Midoriya that they could spring into action. He readied a huge explosion and gave Midoriya a few seconds to shelter the rest of the class behind overturned tables and sofas before letting it loose right into Shigaraki and the other league members' faces.
"Kacchan and I are gonna regroup and come up with a plan," Midoriya whispered to Uraraka who was closest to him. "I think Techie's range is only people in this room, so we have to go before he gets his quirk back online. Keep everyone calm and stall for time if you can, we'll be back."
"Deku!" Bakugo shouted, opening the door to the stairwell. "We have to get a move on!"
"Right!" Midoriya vaulted over the furniture to the door, kicking a villains out of the way with a powered-up attack that sent him flying. Once he reached Bakugo they slammed the door behind them and Bakugo used his quirk to weld the lock shut and give them a bit of head start before they flew up the stairs.
"So how do those fuckers know about your quirk?" Bakugo demanded as the sprinted up the stairs to the top floor. Ever since Bakugo had figured out the true nature of Midoriya's quirk, they'd gotten closer, and had been more or less on good terms with each other since their second year began. They trained with each other a lot, so working together like this was starting to become more natural to them.
"Best guess is that All For One told Shigaraki a long time ago, before he got arrested, and Shigaraki decided to quit keeping it to himself," Midoriya answered. "I'm glad our friends didn't take him seriously, but I actually feel kind of bad about it."
"Don't. Fuck friendship, some secrets don't need to be shared," Bakugo scoffed. "If they can't figure it out on their own, there's no reason to tell them. It's not like it's even fucking important, anyway."
"What would Kirishima say if he heard you talk that way about your friends?"
"If you even fucking think about mentioning that to Kirishima, I'll kill you on the spot." Bakugo snarled. "And anyway, Kirishima knows that being friends with someone doesn't mean you have to tell them everything. Some things don't have to be shared and some things just shouldn't be."
"Aww, Kacchan! You've grown so much!"
"Fuck off!" he snapped. "Anyway, we've gotta figure out some kind of a plan."
"Yeah, let's pick an empty room and discuss our options," Midoriya agreed, and that's just what they did. "So it seems like their entire operation depends on that Techie person. Our step one has to be finding them and disabling them."
"Obviously," Bakugo agreed. "Techie didn't look like much of a fighter, so they're probably well hidden, but I'm guessing they have to be somewhere inside the dorm, otherwise they couldn't control all of us with that fucking quirk."
"Yeah. The question is, how close does Techie have to be to use their quirk? Or is it just that all the targets have to be within a certain proximity of each other?"
"I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that hand fucker would want his star player close by," Bakugo said. "Plus, Techie seems like the cautious type, so they'd probably want to be near an exit in case everything goes to shit and they have to make a getaway."
"I agree, and by the looks of that video the room Techie's in is pretty dark, which means they can't be somewhere like the kitchen where the light from the common room is clearly visible." Midoriya and Bakugo both thought for a moment, but they didn't need longer. After over a year, they knew the dorms pretty well. "Techie has to be..."
"He's in the fucking laundry room," Bakugo finished. "Ground floor, large window, dark enough when the curtains are drawn and the lights are out that you wouldn't be able to see someone's face clearly, and close enough to the common room that we'd all be in range of his quirk."
"Plus, the internet's pretty spotty in the laundry room, which accounts for his computer freezing up unexpectedly." Midoriya nodded. That had to be it. Nowhere else in the dorms matched all the criteria so perfectly. "Now that we know where they are, we have to figure out how to take them down."
"I know you brats are up here!" shouted the familiar voice of Shigaraki. "You're not gonna escape! The school designed these lockdown procedures to be virtually quirk-proof, perfect for keeping villains out, right? But even better for keeping brats in!"
"I'll keep Shigaraki focused on me," Midoriya said in a rush, his voice quiet. "I'm the one he wants, anyway. You slip past and get back down to the ground floor. I already asked Uraraka to buy us some time, so with any luck, the villains still downstairs will be distracted. You have to get to Techie and destroy their computer. If you can't knock out their quirk somehow, we don't stand a chance."
"You know I coulda figured that out without you ordering me around, shitheel." Bakugo was staring at the door as if waiting for the villain to walk through so he could blast his face off.
"Yeah, I know, but now's not the time," Midoriya whispered back harshly. "Now hide and count to twenty. I'm gonna give you an opening to leave."
"And what if you're girlfriend couldn't pull through with the distraction?" Bakugo asked, slipping behind the balcony curtain. Midoriya blushed, still not used to Uraraka being his girlfriend after all these months.
"I'm sure you can figure something out Kacchan," he said. "You're a hero, aren't you?"
"Damn right. Now get the fuck out."
"Roger that," Midoriya slammed open the door and sprinted down the hall, before rounding the corner to where the girls' rooms were. As expected, Shigaraki and both of the League of Villains goons he had with him gave chase. As powerful as Bakugo was, Midoriya was their priority. "Come and get me!"
"Catch him!" Shigaraki ordered.
Midoriya used his full cowling at five percent, lower than he had used it in quite a while, but he wanted to stay just out of reach, not leave them in the dust. If they lost sight of him they would have to search, and they might return to the common room and discover Kacchan, which would be bad.
He zipped around the hallway, springing off the walls, avoiding being caught by Shigaraki's disintegrating grip by a hair's breadth once or twice, and just barely dodging the long, sharp claws of another villain. There were three of them total, and they kept trying to flank him. He was so focused on distracting them without getting himself injured or caught in the process that he didn't even have a thought to spare toward hoping Kacchan's side of the plan was going well.
For his part, though he may have been loud and boisterous by nature, Bakugo could be stealthy if he really needed to. He snuck back down the stairs. The door to the common room was already open, though he had welded it shut before. It looked like Shigaraki had disintegrated the lock to get through.
The rest of the class appeared to still be under Techie's control, and Uraraka was doing her part to keep the remaining two villains guarding them preoccupied by arguing loudly with them. As he crept along the back wall and snuck behind the guards, Kirishima caught his eye and grinned, and Bakugo held a finger to his lips to warn everyone to be quiet and not draw attention to him. It looked like they got the message.
The door to the laundry room was locked. Why was there even a lock on a laundry room door? He glanced back at the villains and his classmates and readied a tiny explosion. Hopefully it was quiet enough that Uraraka's chatter would drown it out, but he knew it wouldn't be.
Kirishima was still watching him out of the corner of his eye and saw what Bakugo was about to do. He subtly and silently indicated to Uraraka and the rest of the girls, and then to Bakugo before he let off his explosion. Kirishima held out three fingers on his knee, then tapped his foot slowly, three times. On the third tap, all the girls, and Kaminari and Sero, screamed at the top of their lungs. At the same moment, Bakugo set off his explosion, and it was completely drowned out by the noise, though just barely, then he slipped into the laundry room and held the door closed behind him.
"What the hell was that for!" demanded a villain.
"There was a rat!" Mina squealed. "It ran right past your heels! Didn't you notice it? It was huge!"
Bakugo sighed with relief when the guards seemed to buy it. Then he turned his attention to Techie, who was already staring at him.
"Does this mean we lost?" Techie asked, completely deadpan, as though they had not only expected that result, but had been waiting for it. "I told them this was a dumb idea. I said there were too many risks and I would have to over extend my quirk. I even told Crusty none of you kids would believe him, even if it was the truth, but nobody listens to Techie. Not like I'm the smartest person in the room or anything."
"You're on a video call. Why aren't you signaling for help?" Bakugo asked, his back still against the door, holding it shut. He'd been expecting Techie to call for backup.
"Oh, I muted the call as soon as you tried the doorknob. Nobody's noticed," they answered. "Didn't I already say they don't listen to me? They don't pay much attention to me at all, really. Hey, that was a really well timed distraction, I totally expected you to blast your way in, consequences be damned. How'd you coordinate with your classmates without the guards noticing."
"It was Kirishima, he signaled everyone when he saw me about the blow the lock."
"Kirishima . . ." Techie looked at their computer screen. "Muted. Only his hands, feet, and eyes can move. His teeth are even locked together so he doesn't try to bite anyone again. He a friend of yours?"
"Shut the fuck up," Bakugo growled. "I'm gonna blast your head off, and we'll see how well your quirk works when you're dead."
"It wouldn't, but the program that's blocking the UA security system would still be running. You'd have to destroy my computer, which I'd prefer you didn't because it'd be expensive to replace." Techie said. "But anyway, there's no need for that. I can't recapture you with my quirk since the signal's so slow right now and you'd stop me easily before I had the time, but even if I could, what would be the point. I'm sleepy and I want to go home. Mission failed, just like I said it would. Let me just close all my applications, and your friends'll be free."
"You do that."
"Then I'll deactivate the lockdown."
"You'd fucking better."
"That'll alert the school security system and the teachers will come running."
"Uh-huh."
"All I ask is that you vouch for my cooperation to the heroes, and tell old Crusty that you threatened me when he chews me out for letting everyone go, which you did."
"And why the hell should I do that?"
"You think I wanted to be here?" Techie frowned, their eyes looked hurt. "I never wanted to do anything like this. With a power like mine, I could overthrow countries with nothing but a laptop, but I don't. Why would I want to use it against kids? When Shigaraki found out what I could do, he kidnapped me and forced me to go along with his poorly thought out plans.
"I'm cooperating with you, aren't I? I just want you to tell the truth when the law comes."
"I'm not a liar," Bakugo said. "Shut everything down."
Techie nodded, understanding what Bakugo meant. "Shutting down. Sorry, I have, like, twenty programs open so it'll take me a minute."
Bakugo stood over them and watched as they closed each application, each file about his classmates, each program and firewall they'd put in place to keep the faculty from finding out about the breach.
When Midoriya heard the hum of the shutters over the windows opening, he fought louder to keep his opponents from realizing the same thing he had. If the lockdown protocols were ending, that meant Bakugo must have succeeded, and, hopefully, the rest of their classmates would be free of Techie's quirk.
He tried to carefully lead the villains back down toward the common room, one floor at a time. If all the villains were together, they'd be easier for the heroes to capture. When he reached the bottom of the stairwell, and saw that the door was already open, he vaulted up, pushed off the ceiling to get behind Shigaraki, and kicked him in the back of the head, right through the door, knocking him unconscious.
The other two followed Midoriya into the common room, where the rest of class A was waiting for them, two villains already defeated and bound with Sero's tape, and Techie being held securely in Bakugo's volatile hands. The twenty-on-two battle was over in a flash, and a minute later, Mr. Aizawa, All Might, Hound Dog, Present Mic, and Snipe had all arrived on the scene to find six villains taped up, half of them unconscious.
"What happened?" Aizawa demanded, and they all started talking at once. "Never mind, everyone shut up! Iida, what happened?"
Iida explained the situation, about how the villains had hacked into the school's security and one of them used their quirk to control the students, and about how Shigaraki had tried to sell them some lie about Midoriya stealing All Might's quirk from him. All Might looked surprised and uncomfortable at that. Then Iida told them about Techie's computer crashing and freeing Midoriya and Bakugo, who made a plan to beat the villains.
"I think Bakugo and Midoriya could give you more information on what happened after that," Iida said.
"Kacchan more so than me," Midoriya said. After we split up, I was just the distraction to keep the villains busy while Kacchan dealt with the hacker, since they were after me, anyway."
"Bakugo," Aizawa prompted.
"After we figured out this fucker was in the laundry room," he nudged Techie with his foot. "Deku and I split up. He went to distract the villains who gave chase, and I went to disable Techie here. I managed to sneak past to the laundry room while the rest of the class distracted the villains who stayed to guard them. They did a lot to help, even though their bodies and quirks were pretty much completely incapacitated by Techie, even managed to keep the assholes who were guarding them from noticing when I used an explosion to open the lock on the laundry room door.
"Techie didn't try to call for help when I got there. We kinda negotiated for a minute, but they cooperated easily. Once Techie's fucking quirk was out of the equation, we all took down the rest of the villains pretty easily. Deku knocked out that hand fuck when he kicked him through the door to the common room, and the rest were dealt with pretty quickly seeing as we outnumbered 'em five to fucking one."
"And we all have our provisional licenses, and the villains were a clear and present danger to our safety, so nothing we did was illegal," Todoroki added, still a little bit salty about the hero killer incident, though only Iida, Midoriya, and a few of the teachers knew it.
"I see," Aizawa said. "Well done, then. That was quick thinking, and I commend you all for remaining calm under pressure and dealing with the problem to the best of your abilities. We'll take it from here. The police will want to question them and UA will need to have a chat with Techie in particular about the holes in our security."
"I'd be more than happy to cooperate," Techie said, after making sure that Shigaraki hadn't come to yet. "I told Bakugo before that I only did this because the League of Villains threatened me, and I never wanted to do it in the first place."
Aizawa raised an eyebrow. "We'll talk more later." He turned to the other teachers. "Let's get these villains out of here. And students, I want you all to go to the infirmary so Recovery girl can check you for injuries, just in case. Don't moan about it, just go," he added when a few of his students groaned in complaint.
"We did it Deku!" Uraraka squealed excitedly once the villains had been dragged out of the dorm. He smiled and chuckled and she wrapped her arms around her neck and pulled him into a kiss. "We actually did it!"
"Uh-huh," Midoriya agreed in a daze, while Uraraka giggled at him and hugged him tightly making him blush and splutter all the more, still smiling sappily, the dork.
"I wanna do that . . ." Kirishima mumbled when he saw the pair of them kissing.
"What?" Bakugo asked. Which one of them did Kirishima want to kiss? He scowled. Either way it wasn't fair. "Just do it then," he spat.
He felt strong arms on his neck and a moment later, Kirishima did exactly what Uraraka did, but to Bakugo. Bakugo's eyes widened in surprise and his finger's sparked but he found himself kissing back.
"Why didn't you say something sooner, you moron," he demanded when Kirishima pulled away with a shark-toothed grin.
"Should I have?"
"Fuck yes," Bakugo said, then did what Deku was still too much of a blushing mess to do and went in for a second kiss.
[So this took foreeevverr and that's on me, because I'm garbage and I never feel like writing what actually needs to be written in order for these requests to be completed in a timely manner, oops. I meant for this to be shippy-er, but it's kinda tricky to incorporate romance into an action scene when the characters are all split up. Next up is another experiments AU one-shot and then a fluff request. Love y'all.
