(A piece of cake)

aminari was kicking himself. How could he have forgotten he was supposed to make Mina's cake.

It was the day of her birthday and he was in a rush trying to get the cake at least into the oven.

He had eggs dripping off the counter and flour everywhere. He had put in way to much of the powdery stuff. It was a mess.

"One teaspoon of vanilla." Kaminari repeated to himself as he walked over to the silver wear drawer.

"What the hell is considered a teaspoon?? You know what let's use this." He grabbed a rather big spoon assuming that the vanilla was what flavored the cake and so he needed a lot.

Kaminari added the big spoonful of vanilla and cheered in joy since the only instructions left were to cook it and decorate.

He carefully opened the oven sliding the cake in and turned it on.

It just beeped at him though. "What. What? Why are you beeping! Ughh stopp!!!" He hit it and for a minute it had seemed like it stopped.

Then it started beeping again. "What the hell!" Kaminari kicked it. Still beeped. "That's it die oven!"

Now some may say electrocuting a oven isn't a good idea. To Kaminari this was a perfectly reasonable idea. Until it dawned on him he had just broken the common room kitchens oven.

And the cake wasn't even close to cooked. He slumped over. What was he gonna do now?

"You made a big mess."

Kaminari didn't look at the person who was talking to him he just stayed slumped against the broken oven.

"I just wanted to bake a cake. And now I can't even do that! This sucks."

"...maybe I could help..."

Kaminari looked up to see a amused Todoroki. He had completely forgotten Todoroki had fire as a quirk too. He usually only used ice.

"Oh my god yes please Todoroki. I will repay you in any way I can."

"No need. Here hand me the cake."

Kaminari nodded and handed Todoroki the cake. He held it with his left hand as he sat on the counter.

Kaminari watched in awe as Todorokis hand turned a bright orange color. He was seriously gonna cook a cake on his hand.

Kaminari sat on the counter opposite of Todoroki. "Soo why don't you smile?"

Todoroki looked at him with a slightly raised eyebrow. "I don't really know. Maybe I haven't seen something that makes me smile."

Kaminari nodded looking at the ground. This was way to awkward. Suddenly a idea popped into his head. Hopefully this would dissipate the tension between them.

"Well then I'll have to make you smile!"

"Good luck" Todoroki said in his normal monotone voice sounding unamused.

Kaminari tried everything. Jokes, memes,acting silly, and even weird voices. Not even a twitch from Todoroki.

"Damn. You got some tough walls to break Sho."

Todoroki nodded slowly. The cake would be done soon and this weird interaction would be over.

Kaminari checked his phone. "Awwww its baby Pikachu!" He made a cute face at the picture.

When he looked up he was surprised to see Todoroki looking right back at him with a small smile.

"You smiled! Yes!! Woohoo!!" Kaminari smiled happily which made Todoroki smile more.

"Yes I did. Thankyou for being cute."

Kaminari blushed for a second then shot back "Anytime if it means your gonna smile that handsome smile of yours."

Normally harmless flirting would be no big deal...but when your Todoroki...and you can't really control your fire quirk...and you already had been trying for half a hour to bake a cake...

It's not a good think...let's just say the cake...went up in flames as well as Kaminaris hopes and dreams.

"I'm so sorry." Todoroki looked at the black cake then at his hand. "I think I'm actually cursed."

"It's okay...it probably wouldn't have tasted very good anyway. I used baking powder instead of powdered sugar."

Todoroki nodded. "I'll buy you a cake from the store you can give to her. I have my old man's credit card."

"No I don't want you to do that."

"Please. It could...kinda be like...a date...if you wanted.." Todoroki spoke quietly.

"A-a date? You want to date me?? Why!" Kaminaris face went red. He hadn't expected this. As far as he knew Todoroki liked Midoriya.

"Your smile is just really bright. And I like hanging out with you... you make me happy."

"But don't you like Midoriya?"

"No. We are just friends."

Kaminari thought for a second. He looked at the burnt cake and the broken oven. Boy them as a couple could cause some damage.

"Yes. Let go on a date. But quickly though. Mina's party is in two hours and I still gotta help decorate."

Todoroki nodded and held out his hand signaling for Kaminari to take it.

With a bright pink face Kaminari held Todorokis hand snuggling him since it was his left side and that side was always warmer.

They began their walk.

Thankfully the rest of the day and date...was a piece of cake.
