Shy beans

My face was bright red and my heart was racing as I opened the door to the restaurant. The wonderful smell of soup and Korean barbeque filling my nose. It made my stomach growl as I looked around for my date and tried not to over think everything.

"(Y/n) o-over here!"

I turned to the voice and there he was, the shyest boy in school. His hair a indigo color and his face just as tomato red as mine which made me smile. "Hi Tamaki. Sorry I'm kinda late, the walk was longer than I thought. You haven't been waiting to long right?"

He shook his head having the sweetest smile as I took the seat across from him. I was about to compliment his outfit when the waiter stopped in front of us his notepad ready for our order.

"I'll take a coke and fries please." Sure it wasn't crazy but it was cheap and not messy, sure fingers got oily but that was easily wiped off. When I was alone I'd probably lick them but not with a date.

"I'll take t-the same."

It took us a couple minutes to finally be alone again but as soon as we were it got awkward, neither one of us knew what to say. Maybe if I just started with something random he would be able to latch onto it and make it a conversation? "So Tam do you and the rest of the big three hang out slot outside of school? Some people say your not actually friends and I've always been curious."

He got a small smile and I could tell he did in fact care for the others, it made my heart feel warm seeing how happy he was to talk about them. "W-we are great friends. Nejires k-kinda crazy but she's the nicest person ever. M-mirio is a big guy who doesn't u-understand boundaries very well but never breaks a promise. He's tough but hes also very kind. I-im the one who's j-just kinda odd..."

I watched as he looked away from me, his face seemed pained and his eyes sad. It was weird to see him change emotions so quickly and I wondered if he actually felt that way, there was no reason to lie so I figured I should give some encouragement. "Tamaki don't doubt yourself okay. Your timid and caring. It wouldn't be the big three if it weren't for you not only cause of number but because they need someone who's grounded and down to earth. Without you everything would spiral."

He lightened up a little bit and I silently felt a swell of pride in my chest for being able to come up with such perfect words on the spot, usually I floundered like a fish.

We only chit chatted a bit as we ate and it turns out ordering fries was the best decision I had ever made because they were so good. Definitely going there again, now we were just walking in the daylight with no real idea where we were gonna end up. This wasn't usually for the boy next to me, he always thought he would get lost in situations like this but right now he seemed content.

"I really enjoyed hanging out with you today Tamaki. Your a amazing person and I hope this relationship lasts long...if you want it too?"

I bit my lip as I waited for his response, pushing my fingers together in a shy way and feeling my face heat up as he stopped walking so he could look at me. Maybe he hadn't had as much fun? Maybe he didn't like something about me? He could like someone else!

"I-id like that a lot (y/n). C-can I m-maybe try s-something?"

My face turned redder as I nodded and he got closer to me, his breathing was fast. He put one of his hands just above my waist to hold me close and the other under my neck to keep my head up. I wouldn't be lying if I said I thought I might have a panic attack in that moment and to make matters worse I could feel his heart beat, it was incredibly fast.

Our lips pressed together in a sweet motion but my fears still held on even as I wrapped my arms around his neck. When it ended we were almost in a hugging motion and I had no idea what to do so I did the first thing that came to mind. I laid my head on his chest.

"T-thank you (y/n) for everything."
