Divide and Conquer
Now I know there weren't many of you expecting any of that to happen, especially considering there's no kidnapping in Heroes Rising. Cry's just got a little devil on his shoulder that keeps getting him into trouble, that's all. And, it just helped him receive the most prominent and largest scar in his chest area, thanks to Slice. Kendo has been crushed under losing him, and now we'll see how the rest of Class B copes with it. In terms of the movie itself, we're currently about halfway through it. Getting real close to that final battle you're all looking forward to. I'm sure you all can't wait to see how that turns out. Now, let's get back into the story! Enjoy!
-POV: Wrath Queen-
Our trail had gone cold at this point. No more attacks on heroes, no more sightings, nothing. However, myself and Hawks had heard that a citizen was attacked recently and temporarily lost the ability to use his quirk. It might be a long shot, but it's the best lead we had now. The two of us flew over to the hospital where this victim was being treated so we could question them. When we arrived, we met the man in question who had his quirk taken.
"Thank you for having us, sir. If I may ask, can you please tell us what happened to you?" Hawks asked the man.
"Yes. I was headed back to my hotel from a long day of work. I'd just stopped at an intersection, and there were no other cars around. But then, out of nowhere, this beast man appeared and flipped me and my car into the air. He pulled me out of the wreckage and held me down as three more people arrived. And one of them, I assume he was their leader, he..... he took it.... my quirk...." The man said as he lowered his head.
"Please, tell us what kind of quirk you had?" I asked him.
"It wasn't a strong quirk, so I have no idea why these people wanted to take it. My quirk let me amplify my or someone else's cell, essentially allowing them to heal a person at an accelerated rate. But, the man who took it from me said it was the wrong type. The wrong blood type. He needs type B." The man explained to us.
"Which is why your quirk was only temporarily stolen. Tell me, do you have any children?" Hawks asked.
"Yes, I have 2." The man told us.
"Do they have quirks as well?" I asked as quirks are typically passed down from parent to child, so there was a chance one of his kids may have the same quirk the villains are looking for.
"Yes, they do. My daughter can create illusions, and my son has the same quirk that..... I do...." The man said, coming to realization what we were getting at.
"Where are your kids right now, sir?" Hawks asked him.
"They're back home, over on Nabu Island. I work on the mainland here often, so I usually have to leave them there." The man said as a very bad feeling rose in me.
"Wait, Nabu? That's where my son and his class went!? Oh no, no, no." I thought as me and Hawks suddenly both got messages. We pulled out our phones and read it.
"It's from Endeavor. He says a fishing boat's been found off Kyushu. The men on it claim their from Nabu and.... villains have shown up and attacked!?" We both said as we suddenly rushed out the door.
"Thank you for the information, sir! It was a huge help!" I shouted back as the two of us exited the hospital and took flight.
"Those are definitely the villains we've been looking for! Hawks, notify Endeavor about this, right now!" I said to him as he gave me a nod and went to fly away. But he stopped when he realized I wasn't following.
"Wait, where are you going!?" He shouted to me.
"I don't care how far it is, i'm flying straight to that island! My son and his class are there right now!!" I shouted as I flew off into the distance, racing towards my destination and praying it wasn't too late by the time I get there.
-POV: Kendo-
I ran as fast as I could back to the agency after finding out that Cry had been taken by these villains. There was no sign of where they'd gone, so I knew trying to find them was pointless.
"Hey, Kendo, there you are!? We've been wondering where you went! These kids here told us what happened!" Monoma shouted as I'd just run around the corner to the building.
"Wait, where's Cry!?" Monoma questioned as I stopped at the entrance to catch my breath. I was exhausted from all this running. But still, I grabbed Monoma's arm and pulled him inside to meet the kids and most of the students from our class.
"Oh my god, thanks goodness you're alright. We had no idea where you went, you just disappeared on us." Tokage said to me as I just shut everyone up so I could speak.
"Everyone, just be quiet! We have a serious problem with these villains right now! They've taken Cry!" I shouted as tears came down my eyes.
"What!? Why would they take him!?" Tetsutetsu asked.
"I don't know. He sent me and the kids away with one of his portals, and when I returned to the same location, he and all the villains were gone." I explained as Katsuma and Mahoro ran up and started hugging my legs.
"Kendo..... what's gonna happen to him.....?" Mahoro cried.
"Please..... tell us you'll get him back....?" Katsuma asked me.
"I.... I don't know..... but we're going to try.... even if it means taking him back by force....." I said as I then looked around and figured out the handful of students who weren't here.
"Where's Kamakiri, Shiozaki, Kuroiro, and Bondo?" I asked.
"They're out helping the citizens. Turns out those villains destroyed the power plant here as well. Only reason we have power here is because we've got a backup generator. They gathered everyone into one of the factories for their safety. But, even in all this, we have some good news. We managed to catch one of the villains." Honenuki told me as I became just a little more relieved.
"Well, at least we have that. And from what I know, there's at least two more villains. One girl that can harden her hair into blades. And the other he has..... he has that quirk that stole part of Cry's original quirk. All for One...." I told everyone as they became quite shocked.
"Wait, how's the possible!? I thought that villain was in prison!?" Komori questioned.
"He is. But this other person.... he's got it too. And he tried using it on Cry.... But..... it didn't work this time...." I told everyone.
"Well that's a relief, but that still leaves us with some problems. There's a third villain out their too. Some kind of hybrid wolf man named Chimera, the other two villains you just mentioned, and the fact that they took Cry." Kaibara said to me.
"Yeah. And just because they have him, it doesn't mean we're in the clear. Me and him found out the leaders target is Katsuma here. He wanted to take his quirk. And while I think Cry is a total idiot for sending me away with the kids..... I also have to agree with his decision...." I explained to everyone as a phone began to ring. It was coming from my desk. I walked over and answered it, assuming it was one of the citizens asking for help.
"Nabu Island Hero Agency, this is Battle Fist, how may I-" I began to say as someone interrupted me.
"Are you the girl who also fought our boss?" A woman asked me. I recognized her voice as the one who impaled Cry with her hair.
"You..... What did you do with Cry!?" I demanded to know as the woman just chuckled on the other end. I put it on speaker phone so everyone could hear.
"Relax, red head. The boy's fine. We haven't hurt him anymore than you've already seen. And I assure you he's still alive. But, you and the other little heroes have some things we want." The woman said to me as I already knew what she was talking about.
"You want Katsuma, right? Well you can't have him." I told her.
"My, you're a feisty one. But you're only half right. Yes, we want that little boy, but we want our friend back as well. So, how does this sound? We make a trade. Your friend for ours and the little boy. No one else has to get hurt here. So, what'll it be, red?" The woman asked me.
"No deal. We are not giving you Katsuma ever." I replied in a serious tone.
"Watch it, red. Wouldn't want your little friend here to get hurt, would you?" The woman said as I suddenly heard Cry scream on the other end.
"No, stop it!! Please, don't hurt him!" I screamed into the phone as I heard Cry become silent again.
"We warned you. And, we had a feeling you'd decline our request. And we feel you'll still decline the offer no matter what we say. So, how about this? We just trade your friend for ours you captured? One person for another." The woman suggested as I looked to everyone around me. They all looked as unsure as I did, but when I looked to Katsuma and Mahoro, I saw the pleading look they were giving me.
"Please, Kendo.... you have to get him back...." Katsuma said to me as I sighed and spoke back into the phone.
"How can we be sure you won't attack us right after we make the trade?" I asked her.
"We wouldn't risk one of our own getting injured in a crossfire. Does that satisfy you?" The woman asked me.
".......Alright. We'll go along with this trade. Cry for your friend. But we pick the location." I told her as she just chuckled again.
"Alright, then. Where do we meet?" She asked me.
"Tomorrow morning. We'll be waiting at the castle ruins. We do our trade along that bridge. You'd better not hurt Cry anymore." I told her as she just laughed now.
"Well fine then, we'll see you tomorrow morning. And, in terms of your friend, that depends. If we get board, we may need some form of entertainment." She told me.
"No, don't you da-" I tried to say as she just hung up on me. Everyone remained silent. It was just so hard to take in all this.
"Honenuki.... what's the state of the villain we captured?" Monoma asked him.
"He's out cold and we have him restrained in the basement." He told him.
"Good. Kendo, you said we'd meet them along the bridge to the other island, right? Is there a reason for that?" Monoma asked as he came up to me.
"Uh, yes..... I have a plan." I said to him.
"Well, we're all ears. Let's just hope it'll help us take down these villains." Awase said.
"I'm not sure if it will. But, right now we'll have to act quickly. The sun's gone down, which means we only have a few hours to move before this trade commences. Honenuki, go to where the others are helping the citizens. Tell them the situation and that we need everyone, all of the citizens on the island to go to the castle ruins. There's several large caves there they can take shelter in." I told him as he gave me a nod and then headed out.
"Does that include us, Kendo?" Mahoro asked me as she and Katsuma looked so worried about all of this.
"No, we'll need you two to stay with us. The villains want you, not everyone else, so if we put you with all the citizens, then that'd put them in even more danger. But don't worry, we'll keep you two safe." I said as I crouched down and rubbed the top of their heads.
"Well, it's clear that these guys aren't going to leave until they get what they want. So, they'll obviously return once they have their friend secured. What's our plan for then?" Kuroiro asked as I stood back up.
"We set a trap for them. We divide them up and we take them down. And their boss, it's not a matter of beating him. If he overuses his quirks then it begins to hurt him. So long as we do that, he'll be done for." I explained as Monoma went over to a closet and pulled out a bunch of maps. He looked through them until he found one of the smaller island.
"Alright everyone, this is the real deal we're talking about. We do this or else no one's gonna survive. So let's go over our battle plan. We can figure out our locations with this map." Monoma said as we all gathered around the table to discuss how we were going to do this.
"Remember everyone, this is the most important battle of our lives. We're fighting for more than just the people of this island. We could be fighting for the whole world. So we have to go above and beyond to succeed. We have to truly go plus ultra. Now, are you all with me!?" I shouted as I raised my right fist into the air, with everyone joining me.
"PLUS ULTRA!!!"
-The Next Morning-
It took us all night, but we were all finally prepped and ready to get all this started. We'd brought each and every one of the citizens to the castle ruins and guided them into the largest cave on the farthest side of the island. They'd be safest there. Tsubaraba, Shoda, and Rin were stationed there to defend them if anything were to happen.
Our plan was finally in motion, and now, we just had to wait for these villains to arrive and make the trade. We had their villain friend with us right now, still in his restraints. We were given a sedative from one of the doctor's on the island to give to him. It'd keep him asleep for 24 hours, so this would ensure he wouldn't fight back or help his friends when we gave him to them.
"Any sign of them yet?" I asked Monoma as he peered down to the bridge with a pair of binoculars.
"No sign of them yet. I'm sure it'll be soon though." He told me as I turned around to speak with Katsuma and Mahoro. We'd stationed them at the highest point of the ruins as it was the most defensive spot on the island. The villains would have to fight hard to get all the way up here.
"I promise that you two will make it through this alright. We will beat these villains. And you'll see Cry again." I told them as they just lowered their heads, looking incredibly sad.
"Please..... you have to win.... not just for us..... you have to save everyone!" Mahoro said as Katsuma simply hugged me.
"Don't worry. We'll win. You can count on it." I told them as Monoma started shouting.
"I've got a visual! Three villains on the bridge, and they've got Cry!" He shouted as I ran over and took the binoculars to see. I looked through and saw the three villains mentioned before. The one with All for One, that woman with the hair blades, and that wolf man I was told about. He had Cry slung over his left shoulder.
"Give them the signal." I said as Awase used a small mirror to make some flashes. I saw the villains were stopping in the middle of the bridge, and the woman gave us a wave.
"They see it. Everyone, get to your positions. And kids, please stay right here. We'll be back soon." I told them as me and Monoma took the unconscious villain and carried him down while everyone else spread out and waited for everything to begin. After a few minutes of walking, we came to the bridge and made our way across, stopping about 30ft from the villains.
"We see you've treated Mummy well. We thank you. Now, please give him back to us." The woman asked.
"Don't think so. Not before you give us Cry back." I told them as the one holding Cry sighed.
"No deal, sweetheart. You want him back? You give us our friend first." Chimera said to us but the one with All for One held his right arm out to stop him.
"It's fine, Chimera. Give them the boy." He said as Chimera sighed again before he walked over, stopping about 10ft away before he dropped Cry off his shoulders.
"Now give us back Mummy." The woman said as me and Monoma gave a nod to each other before we took him over and dropped him at the feet of Chimera. We then dragged Cry a little ways away while Chimera picked up and took Mummy back over to the villains. We turned Cry over but what we saw was horrifying. His entire chest area, upper and lower was riddled with holes.
"No, what did you do to him!?" I screamed as the woman just laughed.
"Well, having to wait for the morning became quite boring for us. Nine decided to wait patiently, but myself and Chimera decided to have a bit of fun. Cry here was very helpful for target practice." She told us as I gave Cry to Monoma and enlarged my hands.
"Oh, does that make you mad, red!? After all, we returned him to you alive, didn't we!?" The woman shouted as she hardened her hair into blades.
"Kendo, stop! They gave him back, and he is alive! There's no reason to fight just now!" Monoma said but I still kept my guard up.
"That boy is right, Slice. Relax. We have one of the things we came for." Nine said to the woman as she turned her hair back to normal.
"You may be glad to know your friend is still alive, but even so, that may not last for very long. We will return in a half hour to take what we really came here for. That little boy's quirk will be mine when all is said and done." Nine said as I shrunk my hands back down and went back over to Monoma to carry Cry.
"No, it won't. We will beat you. All of you. We'll be waiting...." I said as we all walked our separate ways, me and Monoma taking Cry over to the castle ruins while Nine and the rest of the villains went back over to the main island. We brought Cry all the way back up to where Katsuma and Mahoro were and then placed him down on his back so we could try and tend to his wounds. Monoma had brought a first-aid kit with him before we got here.
Cry's lost a lot of blood. And even though all these other holes didn't go through him, they still ran deep. Then, there was the wound Slice gave him yesterday when she impaled him. It seemed like it had been patched up a bit so Cry wouldn't die on the villains while they kept him, but there was still blood coming from it.
"He's barely got a pulse. Monoma, hand me some of those bandages." I said as he reached into his first aid kit. Cry was unconscious, hardly breathing too as his skin felt cold to touch.
"Is he going to be alright....?" Mahoro asked as she and Katsuma came up and crouched down next to him.
"We don't know. We're trying to seal up these wounds, but they're so deep. We might not be able to. And no one in our class has a healing quirk." Monoma told them as Katsuma took Cry's left hand and held it tightly.
"Please, Cry.... you can't die now..... you promised you'd be our hero.... don't die....... don't die..... we need you....." Katsuma said as tears ran down his eyes. However, right after he started crying, his hands began to glow. And just a few second later, Cry's wounds were beginning to close.
"Wait, Katsuma, you're healing him! Don't stop! Just a little bit more!" I told him as we watched the rest of Cry's wounds, even the large one in his upper chest, become completely healed, leaving nothing but scars left.
"Okay, I think you did it. That was amazing, Katsuma!" I told him as he let go of Cry's hand. However, Cry still did not wake up.
"Yeah, he's healed and all. But, that didn't wake him. He's still unconscious." Monoma said as static suddenly blared over our walkie-talkies.
"Kendo, Monoma, you read us?" Awase asked through his.
"Yeah, we read you. Something wrong?" Monoma asked.
"Looks like those villains are a bit ahead of schedule. They're coming back already." Awase told us as me and Monoma ran back over to the edge of the ruins we were on and peered down with the binoculars. Sure enough, Nine, Chimera, and Slice were coming back along the bridge.
"They probably realized Mummy wasn't waking up for a while, so they decided to come back." I said to myself as I then switched frequencies on my walkie-talkie so everyone could listen in.
"Everyone, the villains have returned! Be ready in your positions! We begin in just a few moments, once they cross that bridge!" I said as everyone on the other ends responded with a stern "RIGHT!"
"A little more..... A little more....." Monoma said as the villains were almost across the bridge. Once they get onto the island, we strike.
"There, they've made it! Yanagi, Kodai, you're up!" I said into my walkie-talkie.
"Right, Kendo....." Kodai said to me as our battles against these villains began.
-POV: Third Person-
Yanagi and Kodai stood together near the bottom of the ruins as they spear-headed class B's plan. Kodai touched a bunch of giant boulders, using her Size quirk to shrink them down and making them small enough for Yanagi to pick up with her telekinetic Poltergeist quirk.
"Now, we rain down the earth!" Yanagi shouted as she sent a bunch of pebble sized boulders at the three villains.
"As expected, they laid a trap. Seems like their quirks are a bit on the weaker side though. Throwing nothing but mere rocks." Slice said as the rain of pebbles neared the three of them.
"Now, increase...." Kodai said in her typical quiet tone as she tapped her fingertips together. All of the boulders increased to their normal size as they crashed down around the villains. Nine used his barrier quirk to block the ones in front of him, but Slice and Chimera spread out to avoid getting crushed. Slice went to the far left and Chimera went right as the boulders covered a wide area.
"Keep it up, girls! They're almost in position!" Kendo said through her walkie-talkie as the two ran up the hill to the next set of boulders they had collected.
"Now, do it again, Kodai!" Yanagi said as Kodai ran around and touched all the boulders with her hands.
"Size decrease...." Kodai said as they all shrunk down again. Kodai nearly stumbled over as overusing her quirk drains the stamina in her body quickly.
"Now..... let's try this again!" Yanagi shouted as her stamina was being drained as well. But she still lifted all the small rocks into the air and sent them all flying throughout the area in front of them. The two didn't have to focus on Nine very much, more so spreading out Slice and Chimera.
"So much for them having weak quirks, I guess!" Chimera shouted as he was forced over the edge of a cliff which dropped off into a deep valley.
"These kids are smarter than they look, i'll give them that!" Slice said as she used her bladed hair to chop a boulder into pieces. However, she had to jump out of the way and down a small ledge to avoid three more boulders that came after it. More boulders landed all around her, but now, none were coming right for her.
"Ha, seems their aim is a little off th-" Slice tried to say as the ground beneath her began to break apart and collapse.
"What!? Did they have this planned too!?" She questioned in shock as she fell below into a large and deep cave.
"Now, Kodai..... we must get.... to the final..... phase...." Yanagi said, completely exhausted already as Kodai wasn't doing much better herself.
"Right...." Kodai said as the two went up to the next level of the ruins, only about 200ft from where Kendo and Monoma were.
"Looks like we're up as well, Awase! Prepare to subdue that man!" Shiozaki said as they were joined by Kodai and Yanagi.
"Kodai, you sure you can still use your quirk on this thing?" Awase asked her as Kodai ran up to a enormous collection of rocks and trees that Awase had welded together with his quirk. It was the size of a large ocean barge roughly.
"Don't worry.... I can.... do it...." She told him as she touched one of the boulders and shrunk it all down.
"Yanagi, hold on for a little bit longer. Just one final attack." Shiozaki said as Yanagi levitated the entire slab of rocks and trees high into the air, bringing it right above Nine who stopped walking to observe.
"They think simple debris can stop me? They really are kids." He said to himself as he raised up his hands and made his fingertips glow, preparing to fire his beams.
"Now..... release!!" Yanagi said as she made everything come crashing down over top of Nine. Nine responded by firing his beams at all the rocks and trees, breaking them up with ease. However, there proved to be too much debris and Nine soon found himself becoming overwhelmed by it all and buried underneath a giant pile of rubble.
"Go.... do it....." Kodai said as she and Yanagi fainted from exhaustion.
"Make haste, Awase! We must ensnare him quickly!" Shiozaki said as the two of them ran over to the pile. Awase used his Weld quirk to bring everything together into one giant piece and Shiozaki wrapped it up in a bunch of places with her vines, ensuring it wouldn't be easy to break out of.
"That's it, it's done. There's no way this guy can get out of that." Awase said as Shiozaki joined him, the two admiring their work. However, light soon began to seep out of the tiny cracks as the whole thing began to shake.
"No, that's not possible! He's buried under several tons of debris!" Awase said in disbelief as he and Shiozaki were lifted into the air by Yanagi who had regained consciousness enough to get them out of there. And, it's a good thing she did as everything was blown away in an instant.
"Oh crap, look out!!" Awase shouted as a large number of rocks and tree branches crashed into him and Shiozaki, making them fall above Yanagi and Kodai. All 4 became buried under their own trap as Nine simply wiped off some dust on his jacket.
"A minor set back..." Nine said to himself as he approached the level the children were on.
"No.... it didn't work...." Kendo said as Monoma made a quick dash over to where Cry was laying.
"Who cares if it didn't work!? There's still us 2, right!? We can take that guy down!" Monoma said as he touched Cry's hand and then ran back over. Kendo had backed away from the edge as Nine came walking over.
"Just the two of you here? I expected more if you wanted to stop me from taking that boy." Nine said to them.
"I've fought you already, I know what you're capable of. Don't think i'll fall for your strategies anymore." Kendo said as she enlarged her hands.
"With your quirk, it's pointless to face me. And what about you, boy? What exactly can you do?" Nine asked Monoma.
"You'll find it familiar." Monoma said as he activated it, his veins glowing purple as two small portals opened up on either side of him.
"Spark: Thunder!" Monoma shouted as both portals shot lightning bolts from them right at Nine. To counter, Nine created a barrier in front of him which the bolts crashed into and exploded.
"What's this? Somehow you possess the same quirk as that other boy." Nine said as the dust cleared.
"Not quite. I can copy quirks whenever I touch someone. So, right now I can use my friends great power on you." Monoma said. Normally, he can copy up to 3 quirks and use them for up to 5 minutes. However, over the time he spent at U.A, Monoma learned a new ultimate technique. By removing two of those quirks, he can lengthen the one remaining one for use of up to 30 minutes. And that's what he's chosen to do now.
"So then this is simply the same fight as I had before. But, I shall kill you both before it ends the same way." Nine said as he raised up his right hand and made his fingertips glow.
"We know your weakness. We know how to win. We'll be the ones standing over you when this is all said and done." Kendo said as Nine chuckled a bit.
"Is that so? Then show me what you're truly capable of, girl. Because last time, I wasn't impressed." Nine said to her.
"Oh, don't you worry. She's one of the best in our class, and with me using this quirk, we'll be sure to take you down. We'll pay you back for what you and your other villain friends did to Cry!" Monoma shouted as Nine stopped chuckling and made his eyes glow red.
"Then so be it. Die...."
