Co-op Field Trip

At last we have our costumes! As the story goes on, i'll explain more of the other students costumes to you all, so don't worry because I left some out of the last chapter. And, we were introduced to two more of our more interesting students. That being Josh and Tika. Really conflicting personalities though, with Josh being the upbeat and helpful guy and Tika being the down and gloomy girl. But regardless of how they are, both showed superb skills in their rescue scenarios. But now, we're going to step away from most of the class and focus on a small handful for the next few chapters. Also, as some of you have probably been wondering, we're also going to shine some light on another certain group of students, Class 2. Now, let's get back into the story! Enjoy!

-POV: Phobos-

Week one of classes literally flew by in a flash. And, like Wrath Queen told us at the start, each day got more and more difficult. Between rescue training, battle training, hero laws and other basics classes like mathematics and geography, it was tough for everyone to keep up with all of it.

But, we were informed by Wrath Queen that this next week we'd be going on a field trip to do some special training. We'd be going out to a nearby national park in groups, and the most interesting thing would be that we'd be teaming up with some of the students from class 2.

From my class, myself, Harper, and Josh were chosen to go first. And from class 2, Amelia(Quirk: Diamond), Kira(Quirk: Ghost) and Anne(Quirk: Sketch). And while we were gone for the next 2 days, the rest of our class would be taught along with class 2 by their homeroom teacher. Which meant that Wrath Queen was the teacher who was in charge of the six of us while we were away.

Currently, we were driving in a small bus to the national park. Harper was telling me that what she dreamed about last night was cooler than anything i'd seen before. But, I've seen her make a dragon before, and those pokemon were awesome too. It'd be pretty tough to top them. But she also wasn't telling what her dream was, and no clues as well so she just left me to wonder and eventually give up.

"Alright, we're nearly there. Everyone listen up." Wrath Queen said as we all quieted down so we could hear her instructions.

"This is the first time any of you new students will be working in the field. This is an advanced portion of your rescue training. When we arrive, you'll all be paired up, one student from class 1, and one from class 2. Heroes usually have to team up with others they know nothing about, so this should be no different. Each pair will be assigned a target. The school has hired three professionals to act as injured civilians who've been caught in some sort of accident. Your jobs are to locate, secure, and bring them back to me safely. You'll have the entire portion of the two days we're here to complete this assignment. That should be plenty of time for all of you. But should you fail, then it'll come with an extra intense assignment given to you by class 2's teacher." Wrath Queen explained as all three of class 2's students let out a quick but loud "NO!"

"Jeez, what the heck is class 2's teacher like if they're acting like that? Are they hard on them all or something?" I thought as we were coming up on our destination. Wrath Queen parked us as close as possible to the edge of a forest and we all exited at once, lining up across in front of her. We were given permission to bring our hero costumes as well. And, I must say that the girls from class 2 all had some interesting ones on.

Amelia's was the most simplistic, with it being a black sports bra, dark green army reg. shorts, brown boots, and an oxygen tank with a mask strapped to her back. My guess was that would help her stay in her diamond form for longer periods of time since she needs to hold her breath to maintain it.

The girl named Kira who had long black hair and green eyes, had a full black skin tight body suit on with a sort of half mask over the right side of her face. Plus, she had a utility belt on with a few pouches on it.

And lastly, Anne, who also had long black hair, brown eyes, and she wore a one piece multi-colored body suit, with a rainbow mask over her eyes and a utility belt that had all sorts of drawing materials on it, like rolled up paper, pens, pencils, paint, and brushes.

"Knowing someone is in danger and not already being on the scene is something you must all learn to deal with immediately. You've all gotta make up that lost time and find the victim as fast as possible before they potentially die. Obviously since this is training this is all highly exaggerated, but it wouldn't hurt to treat it like a real life scenario." Wrath Queen explained to us as we all responded with a "Yes ma'am!"

"Good. Now, for your teams, myself and Drac(Class 2's teacher) thought long and hard about what the pairings should be. And these are our decisions. Team 1 will be Josh and Kira. The two of you will be taking the North route to your destination." Wrath Queen said as she gave Kira a map and Josh a flare gun.

"What's the flare gun for?" Josh asked her.

"I'll explain a bit later." Wrath Queen said as she continued to list off the teams.

"Team 2 will consist of Phobos and Amelia. The two of you will take the West route to your destination." She said as she gave us our map and flare gun.

"Which means team 3 will consist of Harper and Anne. You two get to take the East route to your destination. Here you go, ladies." Wrath Queen said as she gave them their map and flare gun.

"The maps that I just gave you display the entirety of the national park, but the only things marked on it are where you all stand right now, and where your targets are currently. No marked trails, no elevation changes, no nothing. You'll all have to adapt on the fly out here as the terrain can change pretty quickly. And, as for the reason why you're all given flare guns, it's in case some of you run into some sort of major problem that you're incapable of getting out of. Say, both members of your team break your legs somehow, or more simply, you have an allergic reaction to something. This'll inform me of where you are and i'll be able to fly over to you quickly." Wrath Queen explained as every nodded to her.

"Now then, before we begin, are there any questions?" She asked us as I raised up my hand.

"What happens if we go way off course and find another teams victim before them?" I asked.

"Good question. If you find the wrong target then they'll turn you around and make you go back so you find the right one. They might give you a bit of a scolding too." Wrath Queen explained to us.

"Will this assignment be the same for the other students who'll come out here? And are we allowed to tell them about this?" Kira asked.

"Yes and no. Yes, it's going to be the same, and no, you're forbidden from telling any of them anything. We don't want any of the other kids getting an advantage now, do we? We want all of you on equal footing for this whole thing. I'll give you detention if you even make a tiny peep, understand?" Wrath Queen said as we all nodded.

"Good. Anything else?" She asked but no one else had any questions.

"Perfect! The time right now is 1PM. If you're all lucky, you'll be able to make it back here by dinner time. And I really do mean if you're lucky. Now, all of you get going and do your best out there. Stick close with your partner and watch each others backs. You're in this 'til the end." Wrath Queen said as we all gave her one last "Yes ma'am!" before dispersing and heading down our routes in the forest.

-One Hour Later-

"So..... your teacher seems...... nice...." Amelia said to me as neither of us really knew what to talk about as we made our way to our marked destination. Or, at least we hoped we were heading there.

"Yeah, Wrath Queen's pretty chill if you stay on her good side. Tick her off to much and.... well.... it burns..." I explained which made Amelia giggle a bit.

"And what's class 2 like? Who do all you have for a teacher?" I asked her.

"Well, we weren't graced with such a famous hero like you guys. We got a more local one who's worked at P.H for years. He's the Vampire Hero: Drac. He can be..... difficult, I guess is the right term. He's just a tad strict but he ensures we're all working to our maximum capabilities." Amelia explained to me which literally made me way more glad to have Wrath Queen as my teacher.

"Sounds rough." I said as she let out a sigh and a nod.

"It can be, but we've quickly become a class that loves each other. We help each other out every day, whether it be training or lecture questions." Amelia said.

"Well, I can't really say my class has come to "love" each other quite yet, but we're getting there. There's a few classmates of mine that're.... a little more questionable." I explained as Amelia let out a quick laugh.

"Understandable. There's always those few students who're, you know, "too mean," or "too weird." But i'm sure they'll come around in time. I mean, we're all gonna be heroes at some point. We'll have to learn to work together." She said as I very much agreed with her.

"Speaking of working together, I wonder how everyone else is getting along out here?" I questioned as Amelia wondered the same thing.

-POV: Harper-

"Someone, please kill me...." I thought as I was currently getting my ears talked off by Anne.

"Our class is super cool! My quirk is called Sketch and I can draw on any material and make it come to life! Amelia says yours is like dreams or something? That sounds so awesome, I wish I could have that!" Anne said, all at a mile a minute as she was also drawing in a notebook she'd brought with her.

""We'll find our targets and make it back by dinner," eh? Kinda hoping that luck shines on us because I don't know if I can take this much longer." I thought as Anne completed her drawing.

"What do you think? Is it cool? Does it need work?" She asked me as she showed me it was a, well, pencil drawn image of myself, but miniature. And, to be honest, it looked really freakin' good.

"Wow..... that's actually amazing." I said as Anne pumped her left arm up and down.

"Awe yeah! And check this out! It's gonna make it even better!" She said as the drawing began to move and lift itself off of the page. It started walking around and then jumped off the notebook and onto my left shoulder.

"Uh.... Hi....." I said to my mini-self as it waved back to me before jumping over to Anne's right shoulder.

"Alright, back to your page! And no complaining!" Anne said to the drawing of me as it literally began to pout and make puppy dog eyes at her. But then Anne picked little me up and stuck her back to the same page of her notebook.

"God, someone please help me. I really hope we can get this done fast. My head feels like it's gonna burst. I hope no one else has to go through this torture." I thought as I began wondering about the other teams.

-POV: Josh-

"It's unfortunate that neither of us have a quirk that enables us to fly. That would've certainly made all this much easier and less time consuming." Kira said as I agreed with her. We were currently walking up a small ridged hill to get some elevation so we could get a better grasp of where we were headed.

"Yeah, no kidding. But, some physical exercise like this is always good for you. Can't really complain about that." I said as she gave me a nod.

"Indeed. And with how you explained your quirk to me, i'm sure all this is nothing to you in terms of said exercise. After all, you're practically at the peak of human physical capabilities." Kira said as I thanked her.

"Yeah, you could say that. But I always like to think that i'm always at my bottom, which I kind of am. So, the only place for me to go is up." I explained as we reached the top of the hill.

"That's actually a very good way of looking at it." She said to me as we looked out at the view before us.

"According to the map, we're already getting close to our destination. It's about 3 or 4 kilometers straight ahead. Over there." Kira said, pointing to a lake way off in the distance.

"Well, if we were tired when we got there, at least there'd be a way for us to cool off." I said as Kira gave a smile and a nod.

"Shall we continue?" She asked me.

"Of course. I'd say we're making good time. Heck, we might make it back to Wrath Queen by dinner like she said." I said as we began to walk down the hill and through a much denser part of the forest.

"Do you believe it was the best idea for us to not have any sorts of communication device out here?" Kira asked as I thought about that.

"Well, sometimes heroes don't have one on them in these sorts of situations, so I guess it makes sense that we weren't allowed to bring any now." I said as Kira seemed to agree with me.

"That's true. I guess I never thought of it that way." She said as I began to get curious about her.

"By the way, you never really told me about your quirk. I know it's called "Ghost," but that's all I know. Do you mind explaining a bit more, please?" I kindly asked her.

"My Ghost quirk allows me to become completely intangible, as well as completely transparent, including my clothing. I can slip through walls or even the earth itself but my body still keeps a physical presence. That means, despite being intangible, I can still be touched by a person." She explained to me as I was actually very interested.

"Wow, that's a very deadly combo quirk you've got there. I see why it's called Ghost now." I said as we both suddenly came to a complete stop on our path.

"Well..... it would seem this will take quite a while to get past." Kira said as we'd come to a ravine, easily over 25ft across.

"Yeah, no kidding. It's not marked on the map and we didn't see it up on that hill back there. Kinda wish we did though. Might've been able to find a way around it." I said.

"And looking at it, it's too long to see where it ends. It could take us hours to find a way across." Kira said as I then picked her up and sat her down on my shoulders.

"Um, what're you doing?" She asked me.

"Well, seeing as we can't exactly go around this obstacle, and we sure as hell can't go back, the only way to go is forward. Do you trust me?" I asked Kira as I could feel her start to shake a bit.

"If you drop me, i'm going to kill you." She said to me in a very serious tone as I stepped back a bit before taking a runners position.

"Hold on tight, you hear me? And hope that I can make this jump with the added weight." I told her as she unfortunately grasped my hair and held it tightly. It hurt a lot but I had to ignore it for now as I began to sprint for the edge of the ravine.

"HERE WE GO!!!" I roared as I leaped off with my right foot and soared over the seemingly bottomless chasm beneath us.

"We're gonna make it!" Kira cheered as we began to fall as we got close to the other side.

"Oh crap! Hang on!" I shouted as I reached out as far as I could and grabbed the edge of the ravine. We handed by my hands and Kira very carefully climbed up to safety before helping me up.

"Thanks.... that was.... too close...." I said out of breath as that was pretty nerve racking.

"No.... I should be thanking you. Had you not have jumped across, we may not have been able to continue forward." Kira said as she stood up and helped me up to my feet.

"You alright?" She asked me as I brushed some dirt off of my costume.

"Yeah, i'll be fine. You?" I asked as she nodded.

"I'm okay. Shall we continue?" She asked me as I gestured for her to move on.

"Ladies first." I jokingly said as she let out a sarcastic laugh before continuing down our path.

-POV: Harper- -3 Hours Later-

The sun was going down at this point, meaning we'd been out here for several hours. But it felt a hell of a lot longer thanks to Anne talking so much! I can't take it anymore! My head's gonna freaking explode! I just want her to shut up!

"Hey, I think we're getting close to our destination already! Look, check it out on the map! You see!?" She said, pointing to where we currently were. And, if she was correct, then we were extremely close to our goal.

"Yeeeeeessss, finally! We're halfway done!" I cheered in exhaustion as my feet were killing me.

"The target should be just ahead! I wonder if they'll tell us if we found them before the other teams found theirs? What do you think? Huh?" Anne asked me as I just shrugged my shoulders.

"Couldn't tell ya. We'll find out when we find them, I guess. And speaking of which...." I began to say as we could see someone up ahead standing in a clearing between the trees.

"Hey, that must be the target! Come on, let's get over there!" Anne said as she started running for the person.

"Hey, wait up!" I shouted as I took off after her. We came to the clearing and.... well, what we saw was the farthest from what we expected. There were actually two people in the clearing. The one we saw as we approached was a man with scruffy brown hair, blue eyes, and he wore a black sweater, ripped jeans and red sneakers. And he was standing over another person who was laying on the ground, drenched in a pool of blood. The person on the ground had their head crushed into mush and me and Anne both came to a halt upon seeing this. We knew this couldn't have been what was planned for us.

"Hehehehehe! It's about time you kids showed up. I was getting bored with this guy, so I decided i'd kill him. I do hope the two of you can give me a little more fun!" The scruffy man giggled maniacally as he began to approach us.

"Who the hell are you and what're you doing here!? Why did you kill that person!?" I demanded to know as the man just kept on giggling.

"Sssssshhhhhh! No telling...... But what the heck! My friends call me "Shield" and we came here to kill you kids. Doesn't that sound fun!?" He said to us as Anne took out a paint brush that was covered in black paint.

"You say you have friends? That must mean you're not here alone. Where are the others!?" She asked him, sounding serious.

"Hehehehehe! They're with all the other kids you came here with! But you can bet they're dead by now! My friends have some powerful quirks, just like mehehehehe! Oh this is going to be so much fun!" Shield shouted with excitement as Anne tapped me on the shoulder.

"I need some time so I can draw something. Think you can take him for a minute?" She asked me as I gave her a nod. But, I had a different plan in mind at the moment. I took out our flare gun and aimed it straight up at the sky.

"You're laughing now, but we'll see what happens when a real pro hero shows up to kick your ass!" I said as I pulled the trigger. But, as I just fired the flare, Shield raised up his right hand and made this light blue transparent sphere form around it. The same happened around my hand and the flare gun and it trapped the flare inside, stopping it from going anywhere.

"No, no, no! We don't want someone to show up and spoil all the fun. It's just the three of us here! Now come on, show me what you kids can do! You're heroes in training, after all! Surely you must know how to fight!" Shield said to us as Anne began to paint something on the dirt ground.

"Oh, we can fight alright! Even without our teacher, we're enough to take you down, asshole! Time to show you what my quirk can do." I said as I activated it, making my dream from last night come to life. A red and gold metal armor appeared over my entire body, all the gears clanking as this armor was powering up. A H.U.D showed up in front of my face inside my helmet and it was targeting Shield with all the weapons.

"HOLY.....! THAT'S BONKERS COOL!!! THIS IS GONNA BE SO MUCH FUN!!" Shield screamed with such joy as he was nearly drooling over my dream. A real Iron Man suit.

"You messed with the wrong school, Shield! And you're about to be in a world of pain! Now.... bye bye!" I shouted as I raised up my right arm and fired a repulsor beam straight at his chest. It made contact and he became engulfed in a cloud of smoke.

"Woah! Did you do it? Did that one shot really take him out!?" Anne questioned as she stood up and stopped painting on the ground. But our answer quickly became clear when we started to hear some familiar giggling. Then, the smoke blew away and we could see a light blue transparent wall had appeared in front of Shield. It completely blocked my attack.

"Not gonna work, sweetheart. My Barrier quirk can block anything besides a blow from our boss! You two can't do anything to hurt me!" Shield wailed in laughter as he began to approach us.

"How's that painting going, Anne!?" I asked her as she crouched down to continue it.

"Just need like 30 more seconds!" She said as I took aim with my hands again.

"If one shot won't do it, then let's see what two can do!" I said as I fired repulsor beams from both of my hands now. But like before, Shield stopped them by making a barrier in front of him.

"I've seen the movies, kiddo. I know Iron Man armor can do a lot more. So step it up. You're beginning to bore me. And that means i'm getting closer to killing you." Shield said as he cracked his knuckles a bit.

"You want something else? Alright, you got it!" I said as I launched myself over to a nearby tree and embedded my metal hands into it. I slowly lifted it out of the ground, roots and all and swung it with all my might at Shield.

"Now that's more like it!" Shield roared as he created another barrier to his right. I smashed the large tree against it and the tree snapped in two.

"My barriers can block a god damn missile strike! You ain't gettin' through them, missy!" Shield said to me as I dropped what was left of the tree and flew straight for him. I reeled back my right fist to hit him but I rammed right into another barrier he made in front of him.

"Whoopsie! Please try again!" He said as i was knocked back a few feet.

"Hey, girly!" He said as he suddenly pointed up into the sky.

"Always check your surroundings! You never know what might drop out of the sky!" Shield said as I looked up and saw one of his barriers coming straight for me. It collided with me and flattened me on the ground. And it kept on pushing me, digging me into the ground and breaking up my armor.

"Don't worry, Harper! I'm finished! Now, go take him down!" Anne suddenly shouted as she stood up and pointed to Shield. From the ground, her drawing rose up and started rushing for him. It was a huge bear made of solid rock and it ran right past me and smashed into another barrier shield was making.

"Sorry, not as cool as the other girl! A rock bear's not gonna do much against my qui-" Shield began to say but he saw Anne was gone from where he last saw her.

"What!? Where'd she go?" I thought to myself as I tried my absolute hardest to push the barrier off of me.

"You should take your own advice, Shield! You never know what might drop out of the sky!" Anne shouted as I saw her come down from above Shield behind his barrier. She then delivered a strong roundhouse kick to his chest and made him stumble back a bit, momentarily making his barriers disappear. I was able to get up but I watched as he made another in front of him and make it fly right into Anne, ramming her against a tree. However, Shield seemed to forget about the bear she'd drawn mere moments ago and it ran in and bit down on his right arm.

"Aaaaagggghhhhhh!!" Shield bellowed as he made a barrier above the bear and smashed it down over top of it. He hit the bear so hard that he actually reduced it to a pile of rocks.

"Now's my chance!" I thought as I raised up my left hand and fired a repulsor beam right at Shield. I struck him dead center in his chest and I sent him flying through a tree, breaking it apart in the process and making it fall over. And with him taking damage, his other barrier disappeared, freeing Anne from being crushed against her tree.

"Thanks for the save." She said as she rushed over to me and readied two more paint brushes.

"Damn you, kids! This isn't how things were supposed to go! The boss won't be happy, no, no, no!" Shield said as he stood up, grasping his right arm where the stone bear had bit him.

"Got any more tricks inside that armor?" Anne asked me as I'd already began to charge up my strongest attack.

"Just one. And this one's gonna pack a punch." I said to her as my chest piece began to glow even brighter and spark up a bit.

"I don't think so! YOU TWO DIE NOW!!!" Shield roared as he raised up both of his hands and activated his quirk yet again. But this time, he trapped both me and Anne inside a barrier dome, and it was slowly getting smaller.

"I'll just blast right through this!!" I shouted as I unleashed an even stronger repulsor beam from my chest piece. It struck the edge of the dome but it wasn't even scratching it.

"That's way too weak! I encased that dome in three layers of my barriers! I'm not even sure All Might could've broken through that! And it's just gonna keep getting smaller and smaller until you two are crushed inside. And I just get to sit here and enjoy all your pain and agony you're about to experience!" Shield explained to us as we suddenly saw two flares fly up into the air from two different locations.

"No.... it's the other teams! They're in trouble!" Anne said as she was indeed correct. The friends that Shield came here with must've attacked them. We needed to get out of here fast and take Shield down so we could assist them.

"AAAAAAWWWWWWWW!!!! That ruins everything!!! Now that pesky pro knows we're here!! Shit....." Shield said as he turned to face us. He gave us a bow and then began to walk backwards towards the closest flare to the North.

"Unfortunately ladies, I must be going. With the other kids getting word out to the pro, I sadly have to regroup with my boss. But don't worry about me. You two have much more pressing matters to worry about inside that dome. Have fun, hope I don't see you again! Hehehehehe....." Shield said as he ran off deeper into the forest.

I began to push against the dome to try and slow down its shrinking but nothing was working. I had no way of getting us out of here at all. I couldn't blast us through and I couldn't use brute force either.

"Any ideas of how to get out of here, Anne?" I asked as I turned to face her. And, she was already at work, drawing a full black circle on the ground.

"I'm way ahead of ya! Just need a bit more time!" She said as we were running out of space real fast. In fact, I made my armor disappear just to give us a tiny bit more room. But, I was already starting to be pushed against Anne's back. In just a few seconds, we'd be crushed like oranges in a juicer.

"Alright, i'm done! Jump in!" She said as I glanced over my shoulder to see her drawing was just a hole in the ground. She jumped down into it and I did the same. It was also a tight fit but we were lucky enough that Shield's barrier didn't go below the ground. And, we watched as the dome shrunk and eventually disappeared, allowing us to climb out of the hole and finally take a breather.

"What the hell.... is that guy..... doing here?" Anne asked.

"No clue.... But there's more of them out there..... We need to find the others.... they're in danger..... And i'm sure Wrath Queen's.... on her way too.... Come on, let's go...." I said as I made my armor appear over me again. I lifted Anne up and held her in my arms as we took flight towards where the closest flare came from. The North, where Josh and Kira went.

"We've gotta hurry before any of them are killed! Today, we turn from heroes in training into real heroes! We're gonna save our classmates!"
