Choose Those Heroic Names!
Be honest, how many of you thought Cry was going to win? And I mean it, be honest. You have no idea how close this fight was, but in reality(no pun intended) Phobos does come out on top. Believe me, I know Cry better than anyone because i'm the guy who created him, and majority of Cry's attacks and defenses he likes to use can be blown away or melted by Phobos' black flames. So, Cry had little option to defend which meant going offensive was the only way for him to win. In face, 52% of the time, Phobos wins the match up. It was THAT close. But now, we move on to our next arc. And this one's gonna be different starting at the second half of this chapter. You'll see when we get there. Enjoy!
-POV: Lisa-
A week had now passed since the International Sports Festival came to an end. All students who had participated received the rest of the week off to rest and heal any injuries they may have received. Physically, I was fine. But mentally, I was cracked. Believe me, watching Phobos take down Cry was one of the most satisfying things I've ever seen in my life..... but even so, I couldn't get the thought of losing to Cry out of my head. It was crushing me.
At home I have a trophy case with so many different first place awards. And knowing about the sports festival, I'd purposely made a spot for the medal I could've received from winning the event. But now, I have to live with it forever being empty. I was just so used to being the best at everything that this feeling of losing is so..... defeating....
I was currently walking to school rather than having my mother drive me. I just needed some more time alone to think and breath over it all. With all these thoughts swirling around my head, i'm sure it would make it harder for me to focus in class now.
As I went through the front gates to P.H, I saw a portal open up. And coming out of it were Harper, Jiro, and Cry. They all looked happy together and went inside to head to the classroom. And I just stood there, afraid of Cry and what he's capable of.
"Pardon me, miss...." I heard a deep grizzled voice say which broke my focus over Cry. I turned around and saw a towering giant of a boy standing behind me with a girl standing next to him.
"Oh, uh, my mistake. I'm sor..... hey, wait a minute..... what the heck are you two doing here?" I questioned as I quickly realized who these two people were. The incredibly tall and buff boy was Sergei, top student and 3rd year from the Russian school, Gregorvsky Alpha. And to his left, with her now medium length dark green hair was Trini, top student and second year from the England school, Queen's Strong.
"We saw how bonkers you P.H first years were and wanted some of that action. Guess we both went to our headmasters and signed up for the exchange program right away. We got permission and now we get to stay here for the rest of the year!" Trini explained very happily.
"I see.... and what? Are you two gonna be joining the first year classes?" I asked them as they both shook their heads.
"No, no, no, that is out of question. We still have to join the same year level as our own. I join the third years and Trini joins the second years." Sergei explained as the two of them walked past me. The warning bell had just gone off so i'm sure they didn't want to be late for their first official day here.
"We'll see ya 'round!" Trini said as they entered the school.
"Well...... certainly wasn't expecting them to be here...." I said to myself as I went into the school and found my way to my class. I sat down in my desk and placed my arms down crossed on it, with my head resting on them. Everyone was present and we just had to wait for our temporary teachers to show up. I assumed they were chatting with the principal or something along those lines.
"Okay! Welcome back everyone! Last week was absolutely mind blowing for all of you, am I right!?" Cry said as he and Jiro came into the room. Cry had made another diamond right arm for him, but his left arm was in a sling and he had this massive black eye on his left side.
"Yeah, for the students who got to the final round maybe." Tika said as Jiro shook her head.
"Wrong. Even if you only participated in the first event, you all still showed such determination and spirit, enough to prove to everyone that when you graduate from here, you're gonna be some rockin' heroes." Jiro said which seemed to make most of us feel better.
"So, where's Phobos at?" Stella asked as I looked over and saw Phobos' desk was indeed empty.
"Phobos received some very concerning injuries in the championship match. I've given him the rest of this week to recover, and I've given him all the written lessons so he doesn't fall too behind. Then, next week he'll do what all of you are doing this week. So, as much as all of you want to surround our new world champion and shower him with questions and cheers, you're sadly gonna have to wait." Cry explained to us all.
"And what exactly will we be doing this week?" Josh asked.
"Excellent question. Today, all of you will be deciding one of the most important concepts in terms of being a hero. Your identity." Jiro told us all as nearly everyone burst into cheers.
"Aw hell yeah! I've been thinking of this for so long!! It's gonna be so awesome to hear people say, look, it's this hero!" Some of the students said as our teachers quieted us all down.
"Keep this in mind though, choosing your name is incredibly important. It tell people who you are, what you can do, what you strive to become. It's a name that people know will bring them safety and a sense of ease." Cry explained to us.
"Exactly. Choosing your name can be more difficult than you think. Sometimes you want to model it after your quirk, and sometimes it can just come out of left field. Hell, Cry here is on his third hero name now." Jiro told us.
"Yeah, that's the truth. Sometimes if you're not satisfied with your name or something happens, you can change it up. My first hero name was called "End Game" and I modeled it after my finishing move I liked to use at the time. After that, I changed it to "Shifter" but it wasn't really catchy to me. And now, I've settled on "Arsenal" and I believe it's the one i'm gonna keep." Cry explained.
"And then there's the option of just naming yourself directly after your quirk, like me. I'm the Hearing Hero: Earphone Jack." Jiro told us as Cry used his quirk to made small drawing boards appear in front of us all.
"I'm gonna set a timer for 15 minutes. In that time, all of you will decide what you want to be known as. Me and Jiro will inform you if it's good or if it needs to be changed up a bit. Phobos has already submitted his name, in case any of you were wondering. He has chosen the Hellish Hero: Demonic Flame. It's a little on the scarier side but it does suit his quirk very well. And believe me.... I absolutely agree with him after how hard he hit me." Cry said as he cracked his neck a bit.
"Alright everyone, your time begins..... now." Jiro said as she started the timer. Everyone, including me went to work at thinking of their new hero names.
When the 15 minutes was up, the timer buzzed and everyone stopped.
"Alright everyone, it's time to show off what you have chosen to be your hero names. Is there anyone who would like to go first?" Cry asked as a couple of students put their hands up. I was not one of them.
"Aqua, yes! Come on up and show us your hero name!" Jiro said as Aqua eagerly ran up to the front and turned to show us the name she'd written on her board.
"I'm gonna be the Ocean Hero: Neptunia!" Aqua said to us and i'll admit, it really suited someone like her. We all clapped for her as she went and sat down. Then Cry and Jiro called up the next student, Cameron.
"Aqua kinda set the bar with something fun and very related to her quirk. So, I hope this sounds good! I'm the Matter Hero: Solid!" Cameron said.
"I'd say you did a pretty good job. Your quirk is Matter Absorption, right? Sounds like you nailed it!" Cry told him as they then gave fist bumps before Cameron went to sit down. Then, Joey went up and showed us his name.
"I wanted a name that did relate to my quirk, but with mine it kinda makes this name feel like such a big stereotype. So.... how about this? The American Hero: Patriot Raptor!" He said as we all clapped for him.
"It's a great name for someone with your kind of quirk, Joey, but seeing as you're going off a stereotype, that means you also have to live up to the potential of it. But I have faith." Cry told him as Joey gave a nod before sitting down. Next to get up was Ryan.
"This is the only hero name I've been able to think of since I was like 5 years old. So, here it is! I'm gonna be the Amped Up Hero: Booster!" Ryan said with a big smile on his face. He seemed very proud of that name, but I didn't really feel it went with his quirk much.
"Sounds good to me. Like how you amp your muscles up when you take in electricity, right? Nice job." Jiro said as Ryan sat down. Next up after him was Mallow.
"I don't know why I like this name so much, but it just screams "me". Plus, almost everyone will know what i'm referencing. I'm the Ape Hero: Queen Kong!" Mallow explained as everyone gave her claps before she sat down. And the next to stand up was Josh.
"I've had lots of names in mind since I was like the age of 7. But, considering it's one of my favourite movies, plus it's similar to my quirk, I think i'm gonna go with this. The Athletic Hero: Hercules!" He told us as Cry walked up to him. The two locked right hands, like a midair arm wrestle.
"Ma' man! That is absolutely perfect! And given how strong you are now, i'm sure it's gonna be easy to live up to that name." Cry said as they let go of each other. Josh then went back to his seat as Stella came up and revealed her name.
"My quirk isn't easy to think of a name for it. I hope this one sounds good enough. The Indestructible Hero: Regen." Stella said, scratching the back of her head as we all clapped for her. I agreed with her statement that her quirk was one that is difficult to think of a hero name for it.
"Alright, who's next? Jackson, how 'bout you?" Jiro said as he got up from his desk.
"How does this sound? The Mind Reading Hero: Listener." Jackson said as our teachers gave him some nods.
"Not bad at all. Sounds about right for a quirk like yours." Cry said to him as he took his seat. And at this point, I decided to just swallow the fear and embarrassment and go up next. I stood at the front of the class and revealed what I wanted to be called.
"Coming up with a hero name was not easy for me. My quirk can mean many things, but I deduced that I should name myself after its general foundation. Therefore, I will be known as the Book Hero: Novelist." I explained as everyone clapped for me. Even Harper. I gave one quick glance over to my teachers, saw that they were smiling and giving me some nods, before returning to my desk.
"Over halfway done, people. Who wants to go next?" Cry asled the remaining students as Steve went up to the front.
"I've had this in mind for a few years now. Just hope it's one that sticks. The Sun Hero: Helios!" He told us as we clapped for him. He sat down and Phil went up.
"There's a lot of things I could name my quirk after. But, I tried to keep it simple so it's easier for people to remember. The Healing Hero: Bright Shine" Phil explained as we clapped for him. He then sat down and we were down down to 4. The next to go up was Harper.
"I never actually put thought into what my hero name would be before today. It took me to the very last second to come up with something, so I really do hope I can make this a true name for myself. I am the Dreaming Hero: Dream Weaver!" Harper said as we all clapped for her, even myself giving her a few before she sat down.
"Only 3 left. We've got Sophie, Michael, and Tika. Who wants to go next?" Cry asked as Michael stood up.
"*Woof* Like some of the others, my quirk can give many different names, so I kept things simplistic *Woof*. I want to be known as the Canine Hero: Bloodhound." He explained to us as he sat down. We clapped for him as Sophie took to the front, shaking a bit as she was the shy and awkward girl of the class.
"I-I'm not v-very good at things like th-this..... so, uh..... I hope.... I hope I can live up to the p-potential of this n-name. The Shrinking Hero: Microscopic." Sophie told us all as we gave her some claps.
"Thank you, Sophie. I know that was tough for you to share, but, i'm sure you won't disappoint the public or yourself when you become a hero." Jiro said to her as Sophie gave her a nod before taking her seat.
"Alright, one more to go. Tika, looks like you're the last one. Care to come up and share?" Cry said to her as she let out a sigh before getting up and taking the front.
"I never really cared for this sort of thing. I'd rather just be a hero that saves things even if no one knows what happens. But, if this is mandatory then I guess i'll just go the simple route like you did, Jiro. I'll name myself after my quirk. The Electronics Hero: Livewire." Tika explained as she quickly returned to her seat. We clapped for her as our teachers returned to the front.
"Very well done everybody. I'm sure in no time at all, the people will come to know those names, respect them, and see them as a sign to remain calm in any situation. And now that you've got your identities, it's time we discuss some much more important business. What you'll be doing this week." Jiro said as Cry took over.
"As we briefly mentioned before the Festival began, it was meant for you all to show off to the pro heroes who were watching. And now, this week, you'll be going out and interning with some of them. All of you received a different number of offers from different heroes, one wanting you to work with them. Things became real easy for us because all of you got at least one offer, which means we don't have to try and find you a hero to work with. Here are your offers." Cry said as he made a bunch of small portals open above each desk. Stacks of papers fell out and landed on them, some bigger than others.
"Obviously because he won the festival, Phobos had the highest number of offers. He got a little over 5000. The next highest was Josh with 2400, then Amelia in class 2 with 2100, and then Harper with 1900. But even if you didn't get a lot, that doesn't mean you didn't do a good job. Being recognized even by one pro should feel like an amazing honor. They see something in you, something that could potentially turn into an early sidekick job, and then eventually, becoming a pro." Cry explained as Steve raised his hand.
"Did you two have to do this as well in your first year?" He asked them as they both nodded.
"Yeah, but to no one's surprise I interned with my mom, Wrath Queen." Cry explained, scratching the back of his head.
"I went to a different agency. I worked with the well-known Japanese Hero, Death Arms. He worked me to the god damn bone." Jiro explained.
"But regardless of who you end up working with, all of you are going to gain some incredible experience in this next week. Now, all of you are dismissed. Go make your calls to whoever you choose to work with. Then, when they accept you, send me an email so I can confirm which agency you're going to. And PLEASE! Do not fail this. It would drastically effect you in the long run, especially if the pro themselves send you home. Do as they say all the time and you should come out totally fine." Cry explained as everyone responded with a "YES SIR!" before we all got up to leave.
-POV: Amelia- -5 Hours Later-
After a long day of training, me and my class returned to our homeroom. Our teacher, the Vampire Hero: Drac, informed us about what we'd be doing this week. Pros were watching us during the festival and now they want us to intern with them. I received the most offers in my class by a long shot since I made it the furthest. But every student was able to get 5 or more offers so no one was really complaining on how well they did.
"Now that all of you are aware of what you'll be doing for this next week and weekend, there's still one more thing all of you must do. One of the most important aspects of being a hero, the symbol that people can hear and see to make them feel safe. You will all be deciding your hero names." Drac explained as our whole class erupted into cheers.
"Woohoo!! I've waited for this for so long!!! I've had a couple names in my mind for a long time, I can't wait to share them!" Some of my fellow classmates cheered as our teacher then silenced us by whacking a ruler against our blackboard.
"Thank you. Now, I have placed some drawing boards on all your desks, plus a marker. In 15 minutes, you will all share the names you've come up with. Think long and think hard because these names could be the ones you have for the rest of your lives." Drac explained as he started a timer, giving us the idea to start thinking of our names.
*BZZZ! BZZZ!* The timer went as the 15 minutes came to an end.
"Alright class, time is up so let's get started. We'll go in class order. So, come on up." Drac said as I was actually first to go up. I didn't want to be because it felt a little embarrassing to do this but, if everyone's doing it, then I guess it makes it feel a little better for me.
"A hero name should be something that represents your quirk, who you want to be, and a part of yourself that you're giving to the public to ensure their safety. So, I've decided on this. The Gemstone Hero: Diamond Heart!" I told everyone as they clapped for me, even some whistling. It made me feel so relieved that they all liked it as I was gestured to take my seat by Drac. And getting up after me was Danny Morzo.
Danny was nearly 6ft. tall with short brown hair, green eyes, and a very large horn protruding from his forehead. He wore a black sweater with dark blue jeans and black sneakers. His quirk was "Hercules Beetle" and it not only gave him that big horn but his strength is like supercharged. The dude can lift over 805x his body weight, which is just insane to think about.
"Alright, I've had this name in my head for quite a while now, so I figured i'd give it a shot. I'm the Superpowered Hero: Dynaman!" Danny said as we all seemed to like is as we clapped for him. He sat down and allowed the next student to go up, Kira Summers. Her "Ghost" quirk is totally awesome, especially when she told me about fighting one of the villains back when we did forest training.
"My name's gonna be another word based off of ghost, but it's also based on one of my favourite TV shows from when I was a little kid, so it's just something that I can't say no to. I'm the Ghost Hero: Phantom!" Kira explained as we all really enjoyed hers. In case you were wondering, the show she means is Danny Phantom, great kids show.
Next up to go was Stacy Peterson. Like Steve in Class 1, her skin is entirely red in colour. She had medium length gray hair, dark red eyes, plus two somewhat rigid horns coming out of the top of her head. She always liked to wear her red sweatshirt plus some light blue jeans and red shoes. Her quirk was "Gunpowder" and what it does is it allows her to create and store an explosive powder within her horns. She can then break off the horns and throw the power. Then, using a superheated breath from her mouth, she ignites the powder into explosions. Me and her are on some pretty good terms.
"I've thought about this since the first day of school, and now I can finally make it mine! So, i'm gonna be the High-Caliber Hero: Shrapnel!" Stacy shouted to the class with pride as we cheered and clapped for her. She then sat down as we went on to the second row. First to get up was Blake Asters.
Blake was like 6ft5in. tall with extremely long brown hair and dark blue eyes. He liked to wear tank tops with black shorts and sandals. His quirk was "Hair Whip" and with it, he can literally whip his hair with enough force to crack concrete.
"I wanted a name with a bit of old school in it, but with a nice twist. So, I've come up with this. The Hair Hero: Meduso!" Blake told us all as he flung his hair up, like you see in one of those slow-mo commercials, only without the slow-mo.
"Very interesting, Blake. It's fitting and the name Meduso, clearly based off Medusa brings in that bit of old school you meant. Nice work. You may take your seat now." Drac said as Blake sat down. After him was Colson Marsh, the only other student in this class to make it to the top 16 of the festival. His Pain Reflector quirk is no joke and it sucks when you're the one paired with him during combat training.
"I kinda wanted a name that describes what I do, so that if villains try and fight me, they'll know what's coming to them. So, i'm gonna be called the Redirecting Hero: At You! Because all the damage you deal to me is gonna go right back at you." Colson explained as barely anyone clapped for him. He definitely would've gotten much more if it wasn't for that bad joke at the end. He sat down, clearly ashamed of his crappy joke as Maia Steelmin got up next. I've had to fight her a handful of times in class, and her Grizzly Bear quirk is ridiculous. You wouldn't think a bear could crack a diamond, but it can.
"I was thinking of something super simple, but then I decided that something like that is kinda boring. So, how's about this? I'm the Grizzly Hero: Powursa!" Maia said with a commanding voice as we cheered and clapped for our cuddly, fuzzy girl. She went and sat down as the last and tallest person in our class got up, Bruce Mcminnus.
Bruce didn't look like your average person. His quirk was called "Land Shark." He had the body of a shark but instead of fins he had arms and legs. He was about 8ft. tall, gray and white in colour, like a great white, he had ragged sets of teeth and a wide tail. And, he had some small water tanks set up by his gills so he could breath.
"This name might sound a bit cliche, but it was the only thing I could think of in such a short time limit. So, I went with this. The Shark Hero: JAWS!" Bruce roared as we cheered and clapped for the big guy. He grew a big smile, showing off all those shiny and sharp white teeth of his before heading back to his seat. Now we were on to the third row, and first up was one of our classes two transfer students, Midareka Tein.
Midareka, like the other transfer student, is a first year from the Japan school, Shiketsu High. You could tell because of the military cap with the sharp looking "S" on it which she wore on her head. Midareka was about 6ft. tall, had long light brown hair, green eyes and she wore a plain blue t-shirt and dark green shorts. Her quirk was "Superhuman" and it basically makes her as fit and strong as she can be 24/7. She can lift 500 pounds and run over 30mph. She'd give Josh in class 1 a run for his money.
"During my stay here in the United States, and in the time I've spent here at P.H, I have thought long and hard about what kind of name I want to make for myself. Today is the day I truly start to be a real hero. And it begins with this name. The Jacked Hero: BodyMax!" Midareka said with pride as we all cheered and clapped for her. She flexed her muscles briefly before taking her seat and allowing the next student to go up, Jerry Bentals.
Jerry was around 5ft8in. tall, short orange hair, blue eyes and a skinny body. Not much at first thought but once you get around to his quirk, you start to fear him. His quirk is Nightmare teller, and with it, he can see into a person's mind and see their deepest and scariest fear, then make it come to life as his own personal puppet. I regret any villain that comes face-to-face with him in the future.
"I want something that strikes fear in the hearts of villains anywhere. Something that'll make them run away just when they hear my name. And so, I've named myself after one of the most famous horror writers out there. I am the Nightmarish Hero: Lovecraft!" Jerry said to us as a sudden chill ran down all of our spines. But we still clapped for him as he went back to his seat. After him was one of the shorter students of the class, Amy Black.
Amy was only about 5ft2in. with medium length gray hair and brown eyes. She had one of the more powerful quirks in our class. It was called "Weather" and it allows her to conjure up any type of natural disaster she can think of, but only for a limited time up around 10 minutes. Her personal favourite is to make a thunderstorm and call down lightning.
"I couldn't think of anything real cool or original. So, my name's just a copy of something that already exists from the X-men. I'm the Weather Hero: Storm!" Amy explained as we gave her claps. I was with her and that it's not easy thinking of your own hero name in just 15 minutes. But, at least she picked a good name that related to her quirk. She then sat down as the next student went up to the front. His name was Nick Rollinson.
Nick was over 6ft. tall, short black hair and hazel eyes. He easily has the strongest quirk in our class. His is called "Shockwaves" and he can create blasts from his hands that look like condensed air streams. But they hit like a truck that's full of explosives. His weaker ones have the strength of literal cannonballs.
"Since I was like 2 years old, I knew exactly what I wanted my hero name to be. So, here it is! I'm gonna be the Blaster Hero: BoomForce!" Nick said with superb confidence as I let out a quick giggle.
"Since the age of 2, you've thought of a name like that? You still sound like you're 2!" I thought as we all clapped for him as we finally arrived to the 4th and final row of students. And first up was the second of our two transfer students. Also from Shiketsu, Asami Suzuki.
Asami was a little over 6ft. tall, with the same Shiketsu cap as Midareka. She was well-built, had long black hair in the style of a ponytail, and she had deep red eyes. Her quirk is called "Adaptation" and with it, whenever she's in any type of environment for over 5 minutes, her body changes to adapt to her surroundings. So, if she's in water, she'll eventually grow gills and webbed fingers for example.
"I've never actually put thought into this sort of thing before. I never really wanted to stand out very much. Just want to do my job, and do it right. But, if I have to have a hero name.... how does this sound? The Adapting Hero: Shadow Hex!" Asami explained as we all clapped for her. I was a bit confused because that name and her quirk don't really match up much. But it is her choice so I can't really complain. She then sat down and allowed the next person to go up, Vergil Hopkins.
Vergil was a very slim boy, short white hair, and red eyes. He doesn't say very much, unless if he has to. He mostly keeps to himself, preferring to do his work alone. His quirk is a bit on the scary side though. It's called "Shadow Puppet" and with it, he can create different tiers of creations made of, you guessed it, shadows. We've only seen him make three kinds of puppets so far, that being a flock of talking birds, then a few tigers, and a couple of bears. But, he does say he has at least one more creation.
"I don't really care what my name is...... But, since this is necessary..... I went with this..... The Specter Hero: Puppet Master." Vergil explained as we all clapped for him. But, like always, he just kept an emotionless expression on his face as he went and sat down. Then, the next to last student went up. Anne Willower.
Anne, like Kira, was also on the forest training trip that was attacked by the villains. Her quirk is "Sketch" and with it, anything she draws on, no matter what surface, comes to life and it made out of whatever material she drew on. And let me tell ya, she's made some pretty wild stuff.
"I have thought long and hard since the days of my youth about what I wanted to call myself. And the name I've chosen, well, it's major inspiration for me, and I wanna be this person of our generation. So, this name means I have a lot to live up to. I am the Painting Hero: Da Vinci!" Anne told us as she received claps and some cheers. She then sat down and now, it was time for the final student in our class to go up. My best friend since primary school, Holly Abbot.
Holly was 6ft. tall, had pure black skin, short snow white coloured hair and 8 red eyes. Yes, I said 8. Her quirk is "Black Widow" and it gives her all the main features of said spider, but without the big looking abdomen. From the eyes, to the venomous fangs, to the 8 limbs. She still has two legs but 6 arms, with three coming out of each of her shoulders. And, she has a few holes in the middle of her back which is where she can spew her webbing. And she always had stylish clothing on. She makes her own all the time, and often shares with me. She learned from her parents as her family owns a well-known clothing company.
"Okay, I promise you guys that i'm not gonna do something super unoriginal and obvious like "Spiderwoman" or things along those lines. I've had this name in my head for a few weeks now, and honestly, it just sounds like me in every way. So, here it is! I am the Spider Hero: Arachne!" Holly said as she got some extra loud cheers, some whistles, and of course, some clapping. I was often considered the "big sister" of our class, but Holly, she was beyond that. She's like the backbone of class 2. She's one of the nicest and most supportive people you will ever meet, and i'm super glad to have her as a friend. She went and sat down as Drac took to the front once again.
"Excellent work, all of you. Keep those names of yours close to yourself, and ensure that whenever people hear it, they feel safe." Drac said as we all responded with a loud "YES SIR!"
"Now then, we currently have only 10 minutes left of class before the end of day bell goes off. However, I have no more to teach for today. But, that does not mean you can leave just quite yet. For these last 10 minutes, a guest, which all of you know, will speak to you. Good luck, students, and please do not fail me during this week." Drac said as he went to leave the classroom. And, when he opened the door, he stopped and faced whoever was out there.
"They're all yours, kid." Drac said as he left. And then, coming into the classroom was Cry. But why the heck was the student/temporary teacher of class 1 here?
"How's it going everyone? Eager to start your internships this week?" He asked us as he sat down on the edge of the front desk.
"Yeah, you bet we are." Stacy said to him as he gave her a nod. His arm was in this big 'ol sling on his left side and he literally had the biggest black eye i'd ever seen over the left side of his face. It was like a void.
"Before I begin this brief discussion, are there any questions from you guys?" Cry asked us.
"Yes, you in the back. Sorry, I'm not too familiar with your names yet." Cry said, pointing to Bruce.
"How does it feel now that you're the former Sports Festival champ?" Bruce asked him as Cry let out a small chuckle.
"First of all, I am still the champ. I'm not the world champ, but i'm the U.A champ. Second, it did hurt losing, in more ways than one, as you could probably guess. Phobos really knows how to light someone up. But, it's something that I just have to push past. If I get depressed or just fret over a loss too much then it could lead to easy mistakes, whether it be here or on the job. I've learned that the hard way several times. But, it also hasn't stopped me yet. If I have to risk my life to save just one person, then i'll lay it down in a heartbeat. And so should all of you." Cry explained to us as we all gave him some stern nods. He then asked if there was anymore questions but no one raised their hands.
"Alright, the reason I am here is because I want to get to know some of you better. I wanna see what some of you are capable of. So, during this week, I am accepting up to 5 of you to come out with me in my own internship program." Cry explained as I raised my hand.
"Are any of the class 1 students joining this too?" I asked him as he shook his head.
"Nope. I told them about this but none accepted it. Figured they were tired of me teaching them for a bit. Now, if any of you are interested, I will say that it's just a first come, first serve way of me picking you. So, this is how it's going to work. We're just gonna decide based on which of you can raise their hands faster than the others. The fastest 5 will come with me for this week." Cry said as his veins began to glow purple. He made these red lights appear and float above all of our heads.
"Those lights will turn green if you are one of the 5 who are the fastest. When I say go, those of you who want to join me, rocket up your hands as quick as you can." Cry said as everyone, to make it fair, placed both of their hands as flat as they could on their desks.
"Here we go. 3.... 2.... 1......... GO!" Cry shouted as nearly everyone shot up their hands. The 5 had been chosen though, and I was glad to see I was one of them. I looked around to see who else would be joining me. About 10 students in the class had raised their hands, but besides me, Holly, Asami, Stacy, and Kira were all lit up green.
"All girls, eh? Alright, I can work with that. To those of you who unfortunately were not quick enough or simply did not raise your hands, you may leave the class and head home. Well done today." Cry said as everyone but the 5 chosen stayed with Cry.
"Now then, i'll sign all the paperwork for all of you to work with me. Every 2 days, you're gonna switch off between me leading you, and Jiro, understand? We'll be going out to the city, looking for anything out of the ordinary and stopping mostly just small crimes. Please, for the love of god, pay attention out there and follow my lead. Hesitation leads to distractions which then leads to people, possibly even yourself, getting hurt or killed. We'll meet at the front gates of P.H tomorrow before we head out. Have your hero costumes ready, and please, give me your contact info." Cry said as all five of us wrote down our emails and cell numbers for him.
"Thank you. Any questions you have tomorrow morning, just email me tonight and i'll answer them. But, if there isn't any now...." Cry said but none of us responded with anything.
"Then you 5 can go. I'll see ya in the morning. We meet here at 9AM." Cry said as he left, followed by the rest of us.
This was gonna be awesome. The current temporary teacher of class 1, runner up in the festival and just the guy with the coolest quirk I've ever seen is taking us out to do hero work. I cannot think of any way that this won't end badly. Hell, if any big shot villains were to show up, Cry, myself, and the rest of the girl crew are gonna kick their sorry asses!
If you all don't mind, can you comment below, between the two classes, which three hero names were your favourites!? I'm very curious. Thank you!
