And just like that, Phobos takes down yet another high-tier student, making another huge upset!! And don't get the wrong idea, Phobos does not have plot armor or anything. Remember, we analyze both students and their capabilities with their quirks. And while Sergei is certainly strong in his demon form, it pales in comparison to Phobos' black flames. The sheer force, heat, and velocity he's capable of unleashing it with was too much for someone as tough as Sergei to handle, but the fight was still fairly close. And now, we move on to match 2 of the quarters. Will Josh keep his promise to Phobos? Or will Trini knock him out and spoil the moment? Time to find out! Enjoy!

-POV: Josh-

"YES!! Way to go, Phobos!" I cheered as I watched his match unfold on the TV in my room. It was much closer than i'd liked it to be but he ended up pulling out the win. He kept his promise to me by making it to the semi finals, and now I just have to keep mine so I can meet him there.

"I tell ya, guys, Phobos has certainly made a name for himself here in this festival! Even if he doesn't come out on top, having taken down Todoroki, and now top Gregorvsky Alpha student, Sergei is no small feat! Pro heroes be aware! There's a new kid on the block and his name is Phobos Martellin!" All Might spoke as he got the crowd all hyped up. 

"You got that right, Might! He's become the ultimate underdog in this tournament, but we can't forget about our other competitors! With Sergei now eliminated from the competition, Gregorvsky Alpha is now out of the running for top school. But Queen's Strong and U.A both still have their top students in the field, meaning they're both still gunning for the top spot!" Present Mic announced. 

"Persevering Heights still outnumbers the international competitors though. They have a great advantage, despite all being first years. Even with the top students still here, P.H has the overall advantage." Eraser Head said as his co-hosts agreed with him. 

"But even with 4 of P.H's students still in this competition, it's still anyone's game. One of them has already made it to the semi finals, and now, I think it's time to find out who's meeting him there! Let's move on to match number 2 of the quarter finals!" All Might announced with intensity as the crowd erupted into cheers. 

"Competitor Josh, please make your way to your entry gate. Your match will begin shortly." The P.A system said as it cut out. I got up from the table in my room and left it, heading down all the way to my entry gate. But when I got there, something unexpected occurred. 

"Oh bloody hell, I went to the wrong bloody gate." Trini said as she was here too.

"How'd you forget where your gate was? You only got two options and you're literally informed which one you go to before you're called down." I said to her with a bit of a chuckle as she just rolled her eyes. 

"I don't know why, guess my brain just went all fuzzy when I left my room. Ugh! Now I've got to run all the way down so I can make it in time to be called out." I said as she went to leave. But, before she could I reached out and grabbed her left arm to stop her. 

"Hold it." I said to her as she let out a sigh and then looked back at me. 

"What do ya want? I know you're my enemy and all but i'm kinda in a hurry." Trini said to me. 

"Look, just listen to me. It'll make things way easier for you anyways. Now hear me out, no one ever said we couldn't go out of the same gate, right? So, to save you some time and to make sure you're not late, why not just come out of my gate with me?" I offered to her as she began to think about it. 

"That would save me the run and some getting exhausted early.... alright! You got yourself a deal, Joshy boy!" Trini said as I let go of her and then rolled my eyes. 

"Please don't call me that." I said to her as she giggled a bit before we walked over to the entrance to the arena. 

"So what, we goin' out together or....?" Trini asked me as I just shrugged my shoulders. 

"Yeah, sure, I guess we can. Don't really think anyone will mind. Plus, what're they gonna do? Disqualify us? Don't really think the crowd would be too pleased with that decision." I said as Trini agreed with me. 

"Alright everyone, let's bring out the combatants for this second match!" All Might announced as Trini was signaled to enter. We began to walk out into the arena but before we went through the gate, I picked her up and sat her on my shoulders. She let out a quick scream but it quickly turned into laughter. Figured this would be a good show for the crowd. 

"First up! She effortlessly bypassed her opening round opponent with her amazing psychic abilities! With a quirk that may give her the strongest brain in the world, she can destroy anything you're planning with a single thought! Time to find out if she's got what it takes to advance even further! From Queen's Strong, it's Trini Williams..... wait, what!? What's going on down there!?" Present Mic announced as everyone now saw me and Trini coming into the arena at the same time with her sitting on my shoulders. We both waved to the crowd as we got some extra loud cheers this time. 

"Well, we certainly weren't expecting this to happen. Looks like Josh and Trini decided to come out together rather than on opposite sides." All Might said. 

"Is that allowed? Can they do that?" Present Mic asked as he got confirmation that what we were doing was legal. 

"Well regardless, her opponent, who is currently carrying her, showed us an incredible display of physical strength and hand-to-hand combat in his first match! He's the man with the perfect body, capable of have absolutely no limits whatsoever!! Everyone, put your hands together for Josh Masterson!" All Might shouted as the two of us went up onto the battlefield. I let Trini off my shoulders and then I walked over to take my position on the battlefield across from her. 

"You're a nice guy, Josh, but don't feel bad when I whoop your tush." Trini said to me which made me laugh a bit. 

"We'll see who gets the last laugh here." I replied as I cracked my knuckles a few times. 

"Without further ado, let's get this second match started! 3.... 2.... 1....... BEGIN!!!!" Present Mic screamed as I took off at full speed for Trini. 

"Let's see if you can keep up with this speed!" I shouted to her as she grew a fierce grin on her face. Her long dark green hair began to glow a bit and rise up as she raised up her right arm. Her hand was in a fist but she quickly extended out her index and ring finger, pointing them at me. And in the span of a split second, I came to a complete halt. My body was frozen mid-step. She was using her ESP to keep me perfectly in place, like a statue. 

"Not fast enough, Joshy boy...." She said as she then brought in her ring finger and extended out her pinky finger. She then waved her arm to her right and sent me flying in that direction. I felt her ESP wear off on me as I was able to move my body again. But I was quickly approaching the edge of the battlefield. I had to do something before I was knocked out. 

"I'm not losing that easily!" I shouted as I jammed one of my hands into the concrete floor, embedding my fingers in it which instantly stopped me, keeping me inside the boundaries. 

"Quick reflexes. And some decent strength to boot. You ain't bad, Joshy boy. But you're no match for me." Trini said as she pointed down at the floor in front of her with her left middle and ring fingers. She began to slowly raise her arm up while also making a chunk of the battlefield floor break off and float up with her arm.

"Try and dodge this!!" Trini shouted as she thrusted her arm forward, sending the huge chunk of concrete flying straight at me. 

"A hero doesn't run from an enemy's attacks! He faces it head on!!" I yelled as I charged forward. I ran right at the chunk of concrete, reached out and grabbed it with my hands. It made me slide back a few feet but I was able to near effortlessly catch it. 

"Now let's see if you can dodge it!!" I shouted as I threw the chunk back at her with all my might, making it seem like a giant cannon ball was launched at her. 

"Don't have to. Because I can do this!" Trini said as I saw she raised up both of her arms and pointed her right pinky finger and her left ring and index fingers at the chunk. She stopped it in midair as then spread her arms apart. The concrete chunk broke apart in two but what Trini didn't know is that I was right behind what used to be the chunk, charging straight for her. 

"You ain't getting me this time!" I shouted as she began to move her left arm forward again. 

"You're still to slow!" Trini shouted as I reached out with my right arm and grabbed one of the halves of the concrete chunk. Before Trini could catch me with her ESP, I threw the chunk at her, catching her off guard as she quickly changed the positioning of the fingers she was going to use. She was going to use her index and ring fingers to catch me, but instead she extended out her middle and pinky fingers, as well as her thumb. 

"Damn it, I didn't see that coming! No matter, I'll just send this back at you like you did to me moments ago!" Trini shouted as she thrusted her arm forward, sending the chunk flying back at me. But as it came at me, I dropped to my butt and actually slid underneath it, finally closing the distance with Trini. She quickly tried moving her arm down to aim her fingers and stop me, but as I popped back up onto my feet, I grabbed her arm and forcefully pointed it away from me. 

"Not this time!! It's time I hit you for once!!" I shouted as I reeled back my left arm and then rammed it right into the side of Trini's head. I sent her flying and then sliding across the battlefield. But she stopped about 30 feet from the edge and slowly began to get back up. Her head was bleeding a bit, but she looked totally fine otherwise. 

"You..... you hit me..... no one hits me..... NO ONE!!!" Trini screamed in a sudden rage as she raised up both of her arms, pointing them at me. She extended out her index and middle finger on her left and then her ring and pinky fingers on her right hand as I tried closing the distance again. But her ESP quickly froze me like before as I came to a compete stop. 

"Ugh! Crap! It.... hurts....." Trini said as she brought back her right arm and held her head with her hand. I felt some of her psychic grip loosen on me as I was able to start marching slowly over to her. 

"She got weaker after I struck her head..... that must be her weakness! Physical trauma to her head causes interference with her quirk!" I thought as I was nearing Trini. 

"ENOUGH!! STOP!!" Trini said as she closed her left fist, stopping me once again. But I was doing everything I could to power through her ESP, the veins in my legs nearly popping out as I inched my feet forward, moving as fast as a turtle towards her. 

"I SAID STOP!! GET AWAY FROM ME!!" Trini shouted as she thrusted her fist forward, sending me sliding back about 20 feet away. But after that her ESP wore off on me as she now held her head with both of her hands. 

"Now's my chance! She's wide open!" I thought as I took a quick runners position. But before I could take off, the battlefield itself began to rumble. 

"I'll show you what happens to people who hit me!!" Trini said as she pointed both of her arms straight down, extending out all of her fingers and thumbs. She then slow raised up her arms as the battlefield itself was pulled out of the ground, rising up into the air with her arms. In fact, Trini herself began to levitate in the sky thanks to her quirk. 

"Holy shit! This is insane!!" I shouted in utter disbelief of the sight of her power.

"THIS IS TOTALLY OFF THE CHARTS!! TRINI'S ACTUALLY RAISED THE ENTIRE BATTLEFIELD INTO THE SKY!! BUT WHAT WILL SHE DO NEXT!? AND WHAT CAN JOSH DO TO COUNTERATTACK!?" Present Mic announced, also in disbelief as Trini clenched her fists tightly. In the matter of seconds, the battlefield began to split at its centre. Trini separated it into two and then clapped her hands together. The two halves turned 90 degress to face one another and they began to come together. I was barely hanging on as I had dug the fingers of my left hand into the concrete.

"She's gonna freakin' crush me like a pancake between these things!" I shouted as I reached out with my right arm and leg to try and hold back the other half of the battlefield. I propped myself up so i'd keep the same positions with my arms and legs on both sides as the other half crashed into me. I used every muscle in my body, every ounce of strength I had to push it back, but despite me stopping it from crushing me, I wasn't pushing it away either. I was just keeping it in place.

"JOSH IS ACTUALLY HOLDING OFF TRINI'S ATTACK WITH HIS MONSTROUS STRENGTH!! THE DUDE'S LOOKING AS STRONG AS ME BACK IN MY HAY-DAY!" All Might announced with amazement as I grunted in pain. I could feel my muscles starting to give out on me as I tried everything I could to stop Trini's attack. 

"AND NOW, THIS FIGHT IS OVER!!!" I then heard Trini shout as I looked up to see her floating straight ahead of me, also in between the halves of the battlefield. She raised her hands up to her head as her hair began to glow and rise even more. Sparks began to emerge in the air in front of her body as it seemed she was charging up some sort of attack. 

"Crap! I can't..... move in here....." I grunted as more and more sparks appeared, almost like small fireworks. 

"ULTIMATE MOVE: SHATTERING MINDSTORM!!!" Trini shouted as she then thrusted her hands forward. Her sparks formed into a huge physical wave of psychic energy which she sent flying at me. It flew between the two halves and struck me dead on, exploding on impact as she not only sent me crashing down to the arena floor, but simultaneously reduced the ENTIRE battlefield into pieces of rubble. 

I smashed against the ground head first as I was pelted by the broken pieces of what used to be the battlefield. That attack was utterly breathtaking and so crushing at the same time. She used the battlefield itself as a distraction to keep me from moving so she could charge up her strongest attack for free. 

"And that's what happens when people hit me...." Trini said as she gently floated back down to the ground, landing like a feather as the official made the call. 

"Josh is both out of bounds and unable to continue!! Therefore Trini is the winner! She advances to the semi finals!" The official shouted into his headset as the crowd erupted into cheers for the English student. And while you may think "But you might still be able to get up, right?" Well, you're dead wrong. As much as I tried, I could barely lift a finger. My whole body felt like a massive bruise, and i'm sure a bunch of things inside me were broken or shattered completely. 

"I'm sorry..... i'm sorry, Phobos..... I..... couldn't.... keep..... my promise....." I said in pain as Trini came walking over to me. 

"Owwwwww, my head....." She groaned as she held the wound I had left on the right side of her head. 

"Sorry I did all that to you. It's just that with my quirk, I usually can keep people away from me and at a distance. But when someone lands a hit, it's like something inside me snaps." She explained to me as I let out an ever so small chuckle. 

"Yeah.... I think I got..... the point...." I said as my vision suddenly went dark and I fell unconscious. 

"While Josh and Trini are taken to the infirmary, we'll need some supervisors to help make a new battlefield. But let me just say that was a super intense battle from the word "GO!" And now we have our first semi final match up! And boy, is it gonna be a great one! Phobos Martellin will clash with Trini Williams!!"
