Stepping onto the Path of Dreams

With a sharp gasp, Midoriya bolted upright from his bed, his chest heaving as his wide eyes darted wildly around the unfamiliar room. His pulse pounded in his ears, the remnants of his strange encounter still fresh in his mind. He didn't notice the strange person standing near the back of the room.

"Hey, you. You're finally awake." The figure called out to him, snapping Midoriya from his thoughts.

Midoriya blinked as he tried to focus on the source of the voice. He squinted as his vision cleared, revealing the faint outline of a teen, no older than him, leaning against the wall near the back of the room.

"Who...?" He was about to ask before his mother suddenly burst into the room with a worried look on her face.

As soon as she spotted him, tears began to leak from her eyes, "My baby!!!" She cried out as she lunged at him and wrapped him in a tight embrace and for a brief second, he felt at peace as if the world around them didn't exist.

"Ahem!"

Sadly that moment was ruined by the stranger standing off in the corner of the room. "As touching as it is watch this lovely family bonding event, I think it's time we had a proper chat... don't you think?"

"Oh sorry," His mother apologised, only for the stranger to wave it off before she could continue with a mischievous grin on his face.

"No need for an apology, I'm sure that I'd have done the same if I were in the same position you were." He reassured as he glanced down at Izuku.

"Now, the names Mori Jin and I'm an... old acquaintance of your son." Izuku frowned at this, he had a pretty good memory and he was fairly certain he'd have remembered meeting someone like Mori but before he could say anything, Jin continued speaking.

The Monkey King had already anticipated that Izuku would realise that he'd never met him before and had spent the better half of his time during his wait for the boys mother to come up with a plan.

"Still though, how many times have I told you Midoriya!?!" Sun exclaimed as he turned his attention to Izuku, surprising both Midoriya's, "I know Bakugou was your childhood friend but that still doesn't give him the right to treat you like his own personal punching bag!"

Yep, that did it.

Midoriya froze, his heart dropping into his stomach as Mori's words echoed in his mind. His mother's gasp was a sound he had always dreaded-a sharp, pained noise that seemed to pierce straight through him.

As for his mother, her heart shattered as she clutched her son tighter, the guilt nearly suffocating her. How could she have missed this? Her baby had been suffering in silence, and she hadn't noticed. The thought of him enduring such pain without her knowing made her feel like she had failed as a mother.

"You're being bullied?" Inko's voice, usually so soft and comforting, was laced with a deep hurt. It was barely more than a whisper, but it might as well have been a shout.

Izuku's mouth opened, but no words came out. His mind raced, frantically trying to think of something to say, some way to deflect or explain, but nothing felt right. Shame washed over him, hot and suffocating, as his gaze dropped to his lap.

He had never wanted her to know.

Sun feigned a look of shock as he stared at Izuku in disbelief, "You didn't tell her?!?" The Monkey King exclaimed in faux disbelief. "Why?!?"

"I..." The words died in Izuku's throat before he could even get them out. "I'm sorry..." He muttered in defeat after a few moments of silence as his mother clutched him tightly in her arms.

Sun rolled his eyes at the touching display, "If only you had taken up my offer to teach you sooner. I could have helped you!"

"What do you mean? Taken up your offer?" Inko asked as she narrowed her eyes suspiciously at the great Sage.

"It's exactly what you think it is, I had offered to train him so that he could better defend himself, free if charge of course, but he told me that he had to think about it!" Sun answered causing both of the Midoriya's eyes to widen in shock. "Although... he is going to need additional training to help him with his Quirk..." He muttered under his breath but still loud enough for Inko to hear.

"But Izuku doesn't have a Quirk! He's Quirkless!" She tried to refuted but Wukong held up his hand to silence her.

"Izuku WAS Quirkless but apparently he isn't any more. I don't know how or why it chose now to awaken and not as a kid but it seems to me like all that anger that he bottled up from his bullying was the trigger." Sun proposed but he knew the real truth but he couldn't let her know about it just yet so he lied through the skin of his teeth.

Inko thought for a moment as she mulled over his words before slowly nodding her head in agreement. "I guess... that makes sense." She turned her head to face her son, giving him a hard glare as she did, "Next time your being bullied you better tell me okay?"

Izuku looked away for a moment before sheepishly nodding his head in understanding, "Yes mom..."

Sun arched an eyebrow at them, "So... is that a... yes on me training him or...?" The monkey king inquired slowly so as to not anger the woman, who looked startlingly similar to Nana Shimura, an old friend of his that knew about the more supernatural side of the world.

I Sun flashed a knowing grin. "You want him safe, right? With the right training, he could be more than safe. I'm talking about strength that could protect anyone-strength that even All Might would respect. Wouldn't that be something?" He knew it was low but by making his offer more enticing to Izuku himself, Inko would no doubt have no choice but to accept, lest she wish to hurt her sons feelings even more so.

Inko bit her lip as she thought on Jin's offer, "Alright, but if anything happens to him -" She trailed off, her threat hanging unspoken in the air.

Sun stifled a smile, looks like he was right.

He always was.

"You can count on me... and you, Midoriya, will have to meet me at Dagobah Beach at 7:30 in the morning. While you, miss. Midoriya, can take your time to sue the ever living daylight out of Aldera High." With a wave of his hand, Sun began to take his leave.

A few minutes after he left the hospital, Sun let out a massive sigh as he glanced at the evening sun, the cold air biting against him as he dropped his disguise.

"Even after all this time, fate still loves to throw me a few curve balls." The Monkey King muttered as he summoned his nimbus and took the skies.

"I wonder how many more changes will this world go through? Will the age of magic truly make its return in this era or something darker setting foot in the shadows of this world?" Wukong muttered as he let his mind wander to the other four Eikons that had awakened not to long ago.

That left three more unaccounted.

He didn't like that.

Not one bit.

Wukong gritted his teeth as he ascended higher into the sky. How long will it be before they awaken?

He didn't know. He hated not knowing, it meant unpredictable and that was his shtick and he wasn't about to let that not be the case.

Something's lurking in the shadows and it had plans.
