Chapter 11
It's been a few days after Class 1-A got reunited and everyone has been getting accustom to the Hidden Village. All Might had bought a falcon to deliver notes to the council along with some of the teens to write to their families. Deku wrote a long letter to his mom and when he got her letter he notice the tear stains, indicating that she's very much relieve knowing her son is alive and well.
Everyone else were relieved to know that their families could now sleep a little easier, but some would be expecting a long lecture (Mitsuki will not go easy on her son). Other than that everyone have been getting to know the Hidden Village and the citizens. Some of the group even got to meet creatures like themselves.
It's been a week since the reunion and everyone decided to hangout at a popular place in the village. It's called 'The Hub', a place where people can unwind and relax or dance like there's no tomorrow. Boran and Marsen tagged along to show them around. It was a little overwhelming at first, but soon they found an area and got some drinks.
"Help yourselves! This place has some of the best drinks you will have in your entire life." Boran says. He and All Might got the teens non-alcoholic beverages, just because they're not home doesn't mean they can get drunk. Once everyone received their drinks they split up to do stuff. Denki and Mineta were flirting with some bunny girls (they had real rabbit ears and cotton tails), the girls were dancing, Kirishima and Bakugo sat at their own table, Iida and some of the other boys were discussing with Marsen.
All Might and Boran talked about adult stuff. This left Deku and Jayori sitting in a corner alone. They sat shoulder to shoulder, enjoying the warmth of each other. Deku was listening to the music when he felt Jayori move. He looks to find her legs propped up on the couch and layed her head on his chest. "There we go. Oh, sorry I was a little uncomfortable." She says.
The greenette blushed a bit, but smiled and moved as well. He leaned back on the wall and now the half-blood was lying against his chest. Deku place his hands on her waist, Jayori looks up at him and flashes him a fanged-smile. They stayed like that for a while until Deku felt the brunette squirm a bit. "Are you okay?" He looks down at her.
She stops moving and looks back up again, "Yeah it's just that, I uh," Deku never saw her like this, but he waited for her to continue. Jayori takes a deep breathe, "I wasn't born here. My dad and I stumbled upon this place." This surprised the boy. In all the time he has known her, she never said anything about her parents. He gently grabs her hand and rubs his thumb over her knuckles.
Jayori resumes, "I get my powers and feline features from my mom. She traveled all over the world and helped as many people as she could. One day she meant my dad, he lived in a cottage that was near a village. They started to see each other and they developed feelings. They had me a few years later and my dad said I was a mini version of her, but I inherited his eyes and smile." She pauses, smiling at the memory.
Deku had a bad feeling about what she was going to say next but kept quiet. "They were happy, but it didn't last long. A person who found out about their relationship told the village and they were furious. They planned to kill them and take me away. My dad wanted to runaway, but my mom said to him to take me and flee, she would buy us some time. He was able to escape, but my mom," She started to tear up. Deku felt tears threatening to fall from his eyes but he stayed strong.
Jayori wiped away her tears and squeezes his hand. "She was killed. Me and Dad traveled from place to place. We never stayed in one place too long and he hid my tail and ears. But we were healthy and we had each other. Until one day when I was 5, we came across a forest and found the Hidden Village. I thought we would only stay for few days but instead we were given a chance to stay permanently. And guess who gave us the offer." Her eyes glanced towards a certain goblin.
The green-eyed boy followed her gaze and found Kirishima and Boran in an arm wrestling contest. "Boran! He's always been helping you." He says. Jayori nods, "Yeah. A-anyway, Dad got a job at Miss Opal's shop, I meant Marsen, and Boran got us a place to sleep. For three years, things were perfect." She took a break to catch her break, "Do you need a drink? I'll get you one." Deku asks. He was about to get up, but felt claws dig into his thigh.
He yelped and looked down to see Jayori, her hair was covering her eyes. Deku could feel her starting to shake and knew he couldn't leave her. He remains where he is and the tiger girl releases her grip on him. "Sorry. I-I don't want to be alone right now." Deku smiles and moves her hair and to look into her blue eyes. "It's okay. I'm not going anywhere." He starts petting her ears and she relaxes at his touch.
She continues, "One day the wolves came to the village and they looked terrible. While they were being treated the leader said that there were hunters near by and were getting close. The people became terrified and didn't know what to do. I didn't want to leave and my dad saw that. He came up with a plan; it was to put out all the lights and be completely quiet. But just to ensure the hunters wouldn't find us, he offered to divert them away. I couldn't lose him, but he said that everything will be okay and I listened."
"That night we did what he said, all the lights were out. He told everyone to be quiet and he went down a path that was an emergency escape route. I couldn't see what was happening, however, I heard yelling and ran towards it. Boran followed me to get me back. I soon found them and hid in a bush. Dad was trapped and they asked him where the 'monsters' were. He didn't say a word and one of them took out a sword," She hiccuped. Deku felt his heart break seeing her like this.
The half-blood continues, "And he stabbed it straight through his chest. I don't know what happened exactly, but what I do know was that I turned full tiger and attacked them. By the time the last one was out, I went over to Dad. Boran and some of his friends found me, on my knees sobbing. My dad was gone."
"They got rid of the hunters and a funeral was held for my dad. Ever since that day, I vowed to become strong and protect the people I cared about. I moved to my cave and spent a lot of time training. Marsen would come and visit, to lighten me up. But I kinda isolated myself. I had Boran too and the wolves would help train me. But ever since I meant you, I feel more alive than I have since I was eight." She finishes and looks up at Deku with tears falling down her cheeks.
Deku couldn't hold it in and hugged her. He buried his face in her hair. "I'm sorry you had to go through with that. No one should ever have to experience such a thing." Jayori could hear his sobs and she leans back into him. They remained like that for a while. "Uh, Izuku?" Deku perks up at his name. "As much as I enjoy your hugs, you're kind of grabbing my," She didn't feel the need to finish when she saw Deku's face turn cherry red.
"Midoriya you're in public." The two look to find Tsuyu with two glasses of water and Deku let go of Jayori. He apologized repeatedly while the tiger spirit and frogman laughed at his red face. "Thank you Tsu." Jayori says and the frog girl left them alone. After she left, Deku looked up at half-blood. "Why did you tell me that?" He asks.
Jayori looks at him, a drink in hand, "Because I had to get it off my chest and well, I love you." Deku's heart felt it was going to explode. This girl, a half-blood, had said those three special words. Without thinking, he leaned forward and planted a kiss right on her lips. This made the girl almost drop her drink. When he pulled back he looked at her with fondness in his big, green eyes. "I love you too."
Jayori put down her glass and pounced on him. She looked down at him and lowered her face, "I'm glad." And she kissed him. Deku's eyes widen, but soon closed them. He wrapped an arm around her waist and placed his hand on the back of her head. Jayori caressed his face, rubbing his cute freckles.
Everyone looked over and couldn't help but feel proud of them. "Way to go Midoriya!" Sero cheered. "It's about time." Jiro includes. Mina and Tohru were hugging in delight and Uraraka, Tsuyu, and the rest of Class 1-A were just so happy to seen them together. "I told that nerd not to make out in front of me." Bakugo scoffed. All Might pat him on the head. "Young Bakugo, let them have their moment." He chuckles, while the blonde waves his hand away.
The two separate to catch their breathe, "Lets take this somewhere else. A bit more private." She says. Deku looks up at her, a goofy smile on his face. He shakes his head and blushed, "O-okay." Jayori helps him up and they run out of the building. "Use protection you two!" Marsen yells. Everyone laughs, but the two lovebirds didn't care and run off into the night. "I am one lucky guy." Deku tells himself.
