It has been awhile since Shojiki's death and Kanashimi was super depressed about it. Nami was the first to notice this. Since Nami wanted to comfort Kanashimi over the death of Shojiki, she got him a cat. A black cat with blue eyes.

Nami: *knocks on Kanashimi's apartment door*

Kanashimi: *opens it and he looks very sad* Hi Nami.

Nami: *is holding the cat* Hi Kanashimi. I have lately noticed that you have been sad so I got you this cat at an adoption center. I just hope you get better okay, I thought the cat would be a good comforting item. Thinking of cats always cheers me up when I'm sad. *hands the cat over to Kanashimi*

Kanashimi: *smiles weakly* Thanks Nami. *is now holding the cat*

Nami: Of course, I hope you like it.

Nami gives Kanashimi a hug, and comforts him.

Nami: *chokes on some tears* I feel sad about the deaths too, it is hard when you lose people you care about. I hope you get better okay, I'm here for you. *makes a cheerful laugh* We are like brothers.

Kanashimi: *laughs a little* But you're a girl.

Nami: I don't care. But still, we are like bros.

Kanashimi: Yeah, we are like bros. Or brother and sister.

Nami: Bye, hope you like the cat! Get better okay!

Kanashimi: Ok. Bye.

Nami waves goodbye and leaves.

Later

Kanashimi: Are you a boy cat or a girl cat? Or are you a they?

The black cat: *looks confused*

Kanashimi: Meow if you are a boy cat.

The black cat: *does nothing*

Kanashimi: Meow if you are a girl cat.

The black cat: *meows*

Kanashimi: Ok then. I know of your gender now, but, I don't know a name for you. *is thinking about cat names* I know! How about Shi?

Shi: *meows*

Kanashimi: Ok then. Your name is Shi. *gives a small smile*

Shi: *she smiles back*
