The mission wasn't going as planned. Ren already had to change her appearance three times- she got spotted on the roof of UA and had to run, shifting her facial features and hair length to assume more of a youthful student look. Grateful for the uniform she had gotten her hands on, Ren walked down the unfamiliar halls, trying to find a way out. She ended up in the cafeteria, which was filled with students. At least five hundred, maybe more. Chills went down her back when she recognized one of Shigaraki's main targets. A kid with green hair and an awful lot of friends. Stomach churning, Ren remembered the number one rule: no contact with the targets.

She spun on her heel and looked around for the exit. There were so many classrooms and the halls seemed never ending. Ren's gut twisted when she recognized one of the security guards coming towards her. Trying not to panic, she scanned the hallway. Security cameras weren't an issue; she could just change her appearance once she left and not use this particular one for a while.

"Hey you! Stop!"

Ren was panicking. She was definitely panicking. Not only was she being pursued, but she was in a building full of heroes and their trainees. Her odds didn't feel too good. Speeding down the hall, she almost ran straight into a tall, dark figure.

"Sorry sir! Late to class!" She bluffed and bolted around the corner, looking for any sign of an exit. Why don't they have this shit marked?

Rounding another turn, Ren could see them- glass doors. Escape. Her eyes darted around anxiously as she sprinted to the exit, pushing through the doors and running straight into the road, weaving through mid morning traffic and dashing into a narrow alleyway. She sat there for a moment, listening for footsteps or sirens. She couldn't hear anything except for the bustling city as she leaned against a brick wall, letting the cool stone calm her nerves. As soon as her breathing stabilized, Ren pulled out her phone and dialed Keigo's number.

"Hey baby bird, I need a lift. Are you close by?"

"Hey cutie, I can be there in just a second. Watching our hubby take care of someone." Came his voice from the other side.

"Thanks, love! See you soon,"

Ren peered out into the street. There were no cops, no security guards, and no sirens. Just in case, she grew her hair out into it's normal shoulder-length choppy self. She left the alleyway, figuring she looked more suspicious there than put in the open, and sat down on a bus bench. This had been a train wreck of a day. Shigaraki was going to laugh at her when he heard how clumsy she had been with her investigation.

Thinking of the crusty man, Ren dialed his number. "Hey Handy, I have some information."

"How many cameras?" He asked, the theme to rainbow road playing in the background.

"Two in each hallway, one in each classroom, and I counted ten in the cafeteria. It looked like the principal's office had none- seems a bit sus, but I wasn't able to thoroughly check. There weren't any in the teachers lounge, either."

There was a pause. "Interesting. And how about security?"

"It looked like there were only two officers on site. They roamed the hallways during class hours and stayed in the cafeteria for lunch. No exact resting post." Ren looked around again, seeing Hawk's figure coming in as a little speck in the sky.

"I guess that makes sense, given that the teachers are heroes. Well, it was kind of pointless, but thank you anyway."

"Wait! One more thing. I almost got caught."

Shigaraki snickered through the phone. "Fucking idiot. I thought we gave you the UA uniform? Were you recognized?"

"No," Ren sighed. "I had to get on the roof to scout the officers. One of them saw me."

"Well, as long as you didn't get caught. Maybe you shouldn't be tasked to solo missions anymore."

Ren frowned. "Oh come on, crusty, you know I'm capable. Just a clumsy day."

"Sure, sure. ETA?"

"My ride just got here," Ren smiled as Keigo landed in front of her and grinned. "Two minutes."

She hung up and leaped into Keigo's arms, relaxing into him as he wrapped his wings around the both of them. Ren used the coverage to return to her normal form, eyes fading to grey and her facial features sharpening. It was pretty draining to put on a glamor that made her look like a child- it was a lot of facial reconstruction. "How'd you know it's me?" Ren mumbled into his chest.

"Oh come on, you don't think I'd recognize you? You're short. Plus wearing your uniform wrong." He grinned and kissed her cheek. "Time to get home? I've been craving some cuddles."

Ren snickered, clutching to him as he lifted off. "Aw, does baby bird need some snuggles?"

He pouted. "Maybe I should've asked Touya."

"I'll cuddle you after talking something over with Handy Man. You and Dabi can warm up the bed for me, mkay?"

"That's fine with me," Keigo landed discreetly on the top of the LOV base and followed Ren down the hatch that led to the building's stairwell. Once they reached the second floor, Ren pecked Keigo on the cheek and grabbed his ass.

"Don't get too frisky. I'll be up in a minute."

He grinned at her and kissed her softly. "Yes, of course."

Ren tried to relax as she walked down the last flight of stairs. Shigaraki was waiting for her, perched awkwardly on a bar stool with his phone precariously dangling from three of his fingers as to not decay it. He was angrily muttering to whoever was on the other side, his entire aura setting Ren on edge. Maybe this is a bad time....

Before she could pivot back to the stairs, called out to her, putting the phone down. "No, no, don't leave. What is it with people today?"

He seemed irritated, but it was obvious that he was trying to cool down. Ren walked up to him with light footsteps and gently took the hands off of his shoulders, replacing them with her own. She was extremely careful- he was a sensitive guy. He didn't get much physical attention, so when Ren gave it to him she made sure that he wasn't getting overwhelmed.

"What happened today?" She asked softly, trying to deescalate the situation while ghosting her fingers over the knots in his shoulders.

Shigaraki let out a long "humph" and slouched further in his seat, toying with his own hands. "No one is listening to me anymore. It's like they don't think I can do this."

Ren's thumbs brushed along his shoulder blades. "That sounds really frustrating, but I believe that you can. You're doing great so far, you know that?"

He tensed up. "Leave."

"What-?" Ren took her hands back, looking hurt.

Shigaraki replaced the creepy dead people hands and glared at the table. "Leave."

"What about the new lead-"

"I said leave. Go." It was obvious to Ren that he had gotten embarrassed. It wasn't often that Shigaraki got positive attention, and she seemed to be great at overstepping his boundaries when it came to showing her friend that she believed in him.

Ren sighed and stepped away. "Tell me when your head is out of your ass. And don't forget the lotion. We still playing later?"

"Mmh." He looked down at his hands and waited for Ren to leave.

She took the stairs two at a time, throwing open the door to her room. A panting mess, she pointed at the boys, who were bickering while staring at their phones, Dabi's leg over Keigo's lap.

"Hey fuckers- who's ready to kneel for mommy?"

Touya snickered and set his phone down while Keigo perked up. "I think doll face has too much of a god complex,"

Keigo was already blushing. "Welcome home, mommy,"
