Mew POV

Days passed, and my feeling for Kaownah grew bigger. I don't want to admit it, but I really want to be with him. I keep trying to stop myself from doing anything, especially knowing it's wrong for me to feel this way. But every time I try to stop myself, it's like destiny is trying to test me. Kaownah, who keeps going near me. He's like a forbidden fruit that tempts me to slip and do the wrong thing.

He is always there, trying to be near me. He will always go to the place where I go except, of course, when I'm alone with Gulf, like on our dates. He even goes with us when we are on our way; apparently, his place is the same way as Gulf, so whenever I will bring my boyfriend home, he is there with us. He will always call and text me random things, like if I have already eaten. How am I? Can we talk? God! This is making me feel like I'm going insane. I cannot say no to him, especially since he and Gulf are good friends now. Also, it seems that Gulf is not sensing anything about Kaownah and me. I cannot stop my boyfriend from coming near Kao! What will I tell him? That he shouldn't be with Kao because he is my ex-boyfriend! Gulf will be mad at me and tells me to stop seeing him.

I should do that!

I should avoid him!

Mew and Gulf are currently on the sidewalk in front of their office building. They are waiting for a taxi to come by. They are holding each other's hand while waiting when Gulf suddenly speaks.

Gulf: Ah, Babe, I'm good here already!

Mew: Okay, baby! Sorry I couldn't bring you home today. I needed to go somewhere else for my sister. She asked me to go to the mall to buy her something. Don't you really want to go with me?

Gulf smiles at Mew.

Gulf: Ahh, no, Babe! I really want to go home already. I feel so sleepy and tired that I just want to do nothing and just sleep.

Mew: Okay, Baby! If that's what you want! Just text me when you get home, okay? You know how I'm always worried when you're not updating me when you get home by yourself?

Taxi arrives!

Gulf: Babe! Here is the taxi already! I will go now!

Mew looked in the direction where the Taxi was coming. As usual, he tried to memorise every detail he could remember from that taxi, its plate number, the face of the driver, the color of it, everything. The cab stopped in front of the couple, and it immediately lowered its window.

Gulf: Hi, Ortigas, please?

Taxi driver: Okay, Sir! Please hop in!

Gulf smiles at the driver, then look at Mew again.

Gulf: I'll have to go now, babe!

Mew: Okay, baby! Take care!

Gulf: You too, babe!

After a few minutes, Mew is now alone. He was about to walk away to go to the mall where his brother asked him to go when the heavy rain started to pour.

Mew: Fuck! Why does it have to be now that I don't have an umbrella?

Someone suddenly speaks from Mew's behind. He was shocked to hear his voice and instantly turned around.

Kaownah: Mew! Mew! Come here with me. I have an umbrella!

Mew tried to act normal in front of Kaownah.

Mew: Ahh, no thanks! I'm good here!

He was about to walk away again, but Kao stopped him by holding his hand. Mew was shocked about it that he wasn't able to reach for a fee second, and when he did get back from his senses, he immediately pulled his hand from Kao's hold. Kao tried to act normal even though his eyes obviously showed he was hurt by what Mew did. He smiled at Mew, then spoke again.

Kaownah: How can you be good if you're already wet?

Mew: You're going to be wet if I join you! Your umbrella is not big!

Kaownah: (started to go near Mew) I'm okay!

Mew looks at Kao, and he sees how serious the man is, so he just sighs as a sign of defeat and just lets Kao for want.

Mew: You can bring me there in the waiting shed!

Kao smiles so widely and immediately puts half of his umbrella above Mew.

Kaownah: Okay!

They started to walk. After a few steps, they finally arrived.

Mew: Here we are! You can leave me here. I will wait for the rain to stop and then go my way.

Kaownah: How can you be okay? Look at yourself! You're so drenched in rainwater. Come here! I will wipe you! You're going to be sick because of this. You know how quickly for your body to have a fever, I still remember...

Mew didn't let him finish.

Mew: I'm good!

Kaownah: Gosh! You're so annoying! If you don't want me to wipe, then here, wipe yourself! Just don't let yourself be that way.

Kaownah gave Mew a handkerchief. Mew notices that he is familiar with it.

Mew: You're keeping this?

Kao smiles at Mew as he also remembers the memory behind that handkerchief.

Kaownah: Of course! It's your first gift to me for our first anniversary. You said you wanted me to have this because I'm so clumsy that I always stumble on someone or something. I need this handkerchief for me to wipe all those that I will have on my hand and feet if I drop on the floor again. You said this is just a precaution in case you aren't there anymore to wipe it for me. I guess that prediction of yours came true!

Mew: Really?

Kaownah: Yes! It's because you are the one who gave it to me. Actually, I'm still keeping all those things that you gave me. Oh, sorry, I don't think it's right for me to talk about the past. Does it bother you?

Mew can't help but smile and then answers him.

Mew: Not all! You know...

Mew was about to speak something that he remembers about their past too when Kao suddenly said again.

Kaownah: Wow! Mew look! There is a stall there!

Mew looks in the direction where Kao is pointing.

Mew: Where?

Kaownah: There! I think it's selling the food that you like!

Mew: What is it?

Kaownah: You're favorite! That fried quail eggs! Let's buy Balut, also!

Mew: No! It's still raining!

Kaownah: (Smiles so widely while shaking his head) It's okay! The food stall has a big umbrella. I'm sure we are OK to eat there!

Mew: Kaownah! Stop! Where are you going?

Kaownah: I'm going to buy food! If you don't want, then fine! I will go alone!
