Mew POV

I was so shocked when I saw Kao standing right before me! I never thought I would see him again because it's already been eight years since we last saw each other. Yes, he is my ex-boyfriend. He is my first love too! We were together during my college year and broke up after graduation. Until now, I still don't know why we broke up. He just disappeared one day and never saw me again, until now. I know! Gulf thought he was my first boyfriend, I didn't want to lie to him, so I just didn't tell him about it. Also, I know how he will react if he knows I ever had a serious relationship before, aside from him. He will be jealous and feels threatened again. I don't want him to think like that, so I just choose to hide Kao from him.

Kaownah broke my heart so hard that I swear I would never love guys again, so I focused on dwelling on all those women who went by my life until I met my baby and made me want to fall for a guy again.

Author POV

Mew is currently talking to Gulf on his phone.

Gulf: Yes, babe! Don't be paranoid! I'll be okay! I promise! In an hour, I think I will be at the office already.

Mew: You should have told me so that I can fetch you!

Gulf: Babe, I told you I'm okay! Don't worry!

Mew: (Sigh deeply) Okay! Okay! If you say so! You have your pepper spray. I know it's already morning, but still!

Gulf: Yes, babe! I have! As if I know no one will do something terrible to me in broad daylight! Gosh, I feel bothered when you are paranoid! I'm a guy, too, remember?

Gulf can't help but laugh a little, hearing that sighing sound from the other line of his call with his boyfriend.

Mew: I know, baby! But can't you blame me? I just love you so much that even a single second that I'm not sure you are okay is hard for me already. Sorry, baby! I'm just worried! I watch so much news about those who are victims of snatching. Sometimes, they even hurt their victims. I can't let that happen to you!

Gulf: I know, Babe! I promise! I will be careful!

Mew: Okay, baby! Be careful, ahh! I'll see you here! I love you!

Zee: Mew! Your ex has arrived already!

Mew instantly smacked his friend on his shoulder. Zee realized what he had done and immediately put his hand on his mouth.

Mew: Fuck, Zee! Why don't you shout it more so all our co-workers can hear you?

Zee: Oh, sorry!

Mew stands straight and goes back to sit on his chair. He looks at his friend seriously. Zee rested his arm in front of Mew's table.

Mew: I told you! No one should know about it! Especially Gulf! You know him, Zee! He will be jealous, and we will fight again! I don't want to stress my boyfriend because if I do, I might need to leave our company and work outside.

Zee: I know. I'm sure Gulf will know about this. Hell, break loose, Mew! Hell breaks loose! But Mew, what will you do? It seems that Gulf and Kao are becoming friends! Did you see them together last time? They look like they have known each other for so long already. It's trouble, Mew!

Mew: Yes! I know! I just wish Kao would not speak of anything to Gulf about our past!

Zee: Fuck! Mew! I don't want to imagine what would happen between the three of you!

Mew was walking, holding some documents, when he bumped into someone.

Mew: Fuck! You should have looked at where you are going! Look what happened!

Mew disappointedly said without looking at the person who bumped him. He immediately lowered himself to gather all the documents scattered over the floor. The person lowered himself too and started helping Mew.

Kao: Sorry! Sorry!

Mew looks up to see who this person that caused him disturbance is and is shocked to see who it is.

It was his ex, Kao.

He was shocked, but he tried his best not to show it to the other person in front of him.

Mew: Sorry? What do you think that sorry would do to me? See these papers! It has dirty already!

Kao: I'm really sorry! I didn't see you! I'm really sorry!

Mew: (Whispered) Sorry, Sorry! You are still the same! You're still so clumsy!

Kao: (Smirked and smiled a little) Yes, Mew! I'm still the same! I'm still the Kao you loved in the past when we were in college!

Mew: Excuse me? I'm sorry I don't have time for this! Can you please step away from my path? I need to go! Please be careful so that next time you would hurt or be inconvenient to others

Kao: Okay!

Mew: Gosh! He is still the same! He still looks so innocent! Innocent, like a puppy who will cry any minute because he fears me! (Laugh a little in the end)

Zee noticed his friend was out of focus. He immediately tried to get his attention back.

Zee: Mew! You're spacing again.

Mew snapped out of his deep thoughts.

Mew: Nothing! It's nothing!

Zee: It's nothing? You don't have to act innocent to me, my friend! I know you already!

Mew: Know? I'm telling you, Zee! It's nothing!

Zee: I know that look, Mew!

Zee is determined to know what's inside Mew's mind. He knows his friend too much that nothing Mew says is a big thing.

Mew: What look?

Mew tried to look tough in front of Zee, but the man was not buying it

Zee: Don't lie to me, my friend. Fuck! Just because your ex came back. Your feeling about him will come back! You should have seen your face whenever Kao walks past your table. Don't be like that, Mew. You already have your present! Don't ever look at your past! It's past already, Mew! Past!

Mew is shocked to see that Zee knows it. He sighed as a sign of defeat and started to talk again.

Mew: I know! It's just that!

Zee: Just what?

Mew: It's just that when I met Kao, I felt like all of those feeling that I thought I had already buried so many times before were coming back to me. I thought I had already moved on! But as days go by that, I see him. I started to want to see him again. I want to talk to him! Just like those old times.

Zee: But you shouldn't have felt that! You already have Gulf! What you and Kao have is already in the past. You already moved past that! It would be best if you weren't looking at it again.

Mew: Yes, you're right! I don't know too! I'm really confused too!

Zee: I thought you already moved on!

Mew: I did! I thought I did! But what if I didn't? What about Gulf? What should I do?

Mew becomes uneasy. Zee can't help but feel worried for his friend. Zee may look like someone who isn't serious about everything, but the truth is. He is a very good person and friend, especially his best friend, Mew.

Zee: I don't know, Mew! You are the only one who can answer that!

Mew: I'm trying to ignore what I feel, Zee! Promise, I am! But I just can't help it!

Mew POV

I thought at first that I had already moved on from Kaownah! I thought I had already forgotten about him, but I was wrong! All of those feeling that I buried before are coming back to me. I feel so attracted to Kao again! His innocent look, his voice, his silliness, and clumsiness! I feel like I missed those traits of his so much!

I know how much of this is wrong! I know I shouldn't feel this way, but what can I do? He is everywhere. It tests my patience and endurance to avoid. I want to put all my attention to Gulf! He should be the one holding me together, but it's Kaownah who is destroying it.

I couldn't help but look at him whenever he was near me. It's like I remember all our memories in the past! All the good and even the bad!

Months passed, and Kaownah and I became closer, especially since he had become close to my boyfriend. He will join some of the gatherings and parties that Gulf and I will attend. The more it happens, it's like it's attracting me more to Kao. I know I shouldn't feel this way, mainly because I love Gulf! I love my boyfriend, but I just can't help but notice Kaownah.

I feel so guilty for Gulf! I know this is wrong! I don't know if I should tell him about Kao. About the fact that his newly found friend is my ex and first love. I'm so confused! I don't know why all of this is happening. I have a perfect relationship already with Gulf. I don't understand why Kao needs to return to my life!

I don't know! I really don't know!
