Chapter 6: The starting line

For LPFM, they were simply here to have fun and potentially ameliorate their skills, for example, aim and agility. But, having one comrade missing in the first ten minutes was a bad thing. "Eh?" LLENN's eyes fluttered open at the sight of the dazzling sun striking her, head-on. Her comrades, M and Fukaziroh, luckily spawned beside her. So, there wasn't another issue of disappearing comrades.
The pink shrimp sighed, seeing the two others. "No sign of Pito just yet?" The team leader asked. It was more an act of desperation, with one of the team's attackers not present, who knows if they'll even be able to make it through their first battle. It'll be overwhelming for LLENN since she's the only one that can really get close to enemies. M prefers long-ranged fighting and Fuka isn't skilled enough for short-ranged battles. Unfortunately, the two shook their heads. "I'm afraid not." calm as ever, M replied.

The incomplete team of LPFM had spawned atop several boulders. Atleast, that's what they thought at first glance. Standing up from the ground h, M said, "That's false. We're on top of a mountain." Now that was correct, they weren't in some boulder wasteland after all. That confirmation slightly relieved LLENN but to be quite frank, there was nothing to be glad about. This place might not be the best for shelter though when it came to heights, they truly had the advantage. LLENN smiled, "Wouldn't Pito love this place too?" She questioned, merely joking at first. If she recalled properly and from watching the playback of SJ2, PM4 had spawned on top of a cliff similar to this one. Only difference was that, there weren't any ravines here. However, mild shock flashed on LLENN's face for a second. Here he was, M actually grinning at her remark.

"Yeah, she would." The collected and brilliant sniper responded. If Pitohui had seen this place, she'd be suggesting to the gang to change locations.  Fukaziroh, who didn't really understand the joke in it all, took some time to think about it. Before it clicked, "Eh? Whatqre you guys talking about? She really wouldn't like this place! Speaking of which, it seems she's out of the game." The blonde mentioned. LLENN looked up, mainly gazing at the top left of her screen. Everything was usual at first, there was her name, M's and Fuka's. But, "Huh?" The shrimp's eyes widened at what name was underneath the camo clad destroyer. It was Pitohui's name though something was unusual about it. There was a red bar surrounding her square where showed her health and currently equipped weapon.

"It seems that she's blocked out of the game." M calmly mentioned. It was more than obvious at this point, Pitohui wasn't here nor did they have any way to interact with her like messaging or communicating her by the radio. One minute the team leader thought that SJ3 might actually be fun, no pressure needed on her small shoulders. No one will be out to kill her, atleast someone she knows. Her duel with Pitohui ended 5 months ago and she couldn't be more glad.

After several minutes of contemplation, Fukaziroh said: "Putting Pito's disappearance aside, we need to move slightly. I don't want us getting shot by guns so early on!" She did have a good point. LPFM was one of the powerhouse teams and Fukaziroh was the bravest one among them to point out the truth, that: Many of the participants here would be rooting out to atleast lower their health-bars down to 20%. "We're on a rocky mountain, where do you suggest we go anyways?" LLENN asked. Well obviously, she wasn't thinking straight at this point, too engulfed in anger, LLENN didn't realize that the satellite scan was always an option.

"Go ahead and check the scan! Plus, it's always good to have a good glance at the map we're on." Fuka prompted. Still as ever, M didn't say anything. 'Was he only talkative when Pito was around?' LLENN thought to herself before brushing the matter away with a better conclusion. 'He wouldn't,  that's unlike his masochistic nature.' She reminded herself before coming to an even dreadful conclusion than the one suggested from her before. 'He's a masochist, he's always scheming ways to provoke her just to earn the pain he truly desires.'

"Hey LLENN, you're getting kind of pale. Are you alright?" Fuka voiced out. Snapping out of her atrocious thoughts, LLENN shuddered. "Yeah..I'm fine." She quickly reported to her concerned comrade. Ah, no, she couldn't have the innocent little Fukaziroh worry about petty thoughts like these. When Goushi has first confessed that he wasn't exactly ordinary, she almost blew a fit. Some things were just meant to be hidden from certain people. "Well? What are you waiting for? Check the scan. It has only been two minutes." Fuka urged her. LLENN sighed, well good grief, she didn't have a chance to do so. Despite being team leader, she held an iota amount of authority towards someone as beaming as Fukaziroh. That girl would prompt her in everything that LLENN felt the need that it was best just to listen to her best friend's advice.

Taking out the satellite scan, LLENN's knit hat's ears perked up. Well this was a strange composition for a battle royal. There were mountains all around the map. "Eh? What's all this?" Fuka asked, approaching LLENN and saw the mountain borders for herself. Those mountains were surrounding the extremities so that no one went out of bound and met with the ferocious blue sea. Besides, running towards the gushing ocean was a bad idea, in GGO only anyways, water lowered your health down rather slowly but it was still not a good place to take shelter by. "It's certainly similar to the last tourney's map...somewhat." LLENN grinned nervously, she was still new to these surroundings. But she mustn't let herself get intimidated by the castle-like walls. Speaking of castle,

-"Why is there a massive castle in the centre?"

-"What?!"

After hearing the blonde girl's inquiry, LLENN too had noticed the castle standing in all of its might at the very centre of the map. Alright, she had several questions. How, why, when, who- "Why add a castle in a shooting game?" pouted the pink clad team leader. Fukaziroh had only shrugged. It seemed that the girl as well had no idea to why there was a castle out of all structures. "Geez, not even an ammo refill centre, boo." The blonde joked. Of course the sponsors and devs wouldn't be nice enough to put such a thing in SJ. If you ran out of ammo, that's too very bad for you. Sighing, LLENN put the scan away prior to sharing these three observations: "It seems that we are in the northwest, SHINC is by the northeast, MMTM is by the southeast and T-S are in the southwest."

M understood quicker than Fuka. "Again with that strategy? Putting the powerhouse teams by the corners of the map?" He had inquired. It was quite the remark, it wasn't the first time that the creators of SJ had done this. Did they just like starting off battles this way? Giving the other 'weak' teams an advantage to scatter and plan their strategies before the stoic and powerful favourites came into play? LLENN didn't know the exact reason and frankly, she felt the need to ignore the observation itself. As long as she participated in SJ, she'll always be seen in one of those four corners. "I don't know why they love doing that so much but who cares right? Let's just focus on working as a team-" LLENN was interrupted by M who had risen his hand, signalling for her to keep it down.

"Quiet. We've got company."

It was with that, that the link bunny and bomb equipped blondie noticed the muzzles of what seems to be machine guns pointing straight at them. LLENN hissed in surprise. "Oh this is not good..." she gulped.

LillaSmolBean: Hiya! Lilla here with another chapter of Meteors! As you can see from this chapter, our original ideas are starting to sprout out into play! We didn't incorporate the tiny island like in the original SJ3, instead, we're doing a medieval themed map? I don't really know honestly, RumiVoid was the one who suggested mountains closing in like a palissade. Though I suggested the castle at the centre! Trust me, it'll play an important role towards the climax of the tournament! What will it be for? Read to find out! If you liked this chapter, please leave a vote, it'll continue to support the book! and comment down below your thoughts if you have any! Now now, let's see, favourite scene written? Well, my favourite character didn't appear in this chapter so I guess my favourite scene was probably LLENN fighting her inner thoughts? Like the scene where she gets utterly disgusted by Goushi's masochistic natures? That was a blast to write! XD Anyways, yachts my author's note done, cya cya!^^

RumiVoid: Eye Eye everyone it's ya gurl Void here. Uh let's see thank you so much for reading Meteors. Me and Lilla had a lot of fun wrying this certain chapter and lol, since I write both M and Fuka, I had fun just writing to myself but using their personalities. It was also a lot of fun to interact with LLENN in which Lilla writes. My favourite scene? Uh probably the description of the SJ3's map. I don't know why but I just did. Ok well this my author's note done, I will see you all next time. Signing out is a RumiVoid!
