Withering Energy2: Withering
Pain.
That's most of what Skizz knows at the moment, just dull throbbing pain.
"Skizz," Impulse asks hesitantly.
"Impy? What happened?"
"You passed out, the withering didn't leave... X got you back here... we can't tell if it's a glitch or the meteor."
"Oh..." Skizz murmurs as he sits up, "That would explain why everything hurts," He snorts.
"Yeah... you're going to have to wait for this to wear off."
Skizz looks out the window, looks like he's back in the guest house by spawn, "Makes sense."
A rattle comes from the doorknob.
"Can Tango come in?" Impulse asks, glancing at the door.
"Yeah, of course," Skizz narrows his eyes, "why wouldn't he be allowed in?"
"He's really upset about what happened, he's been crying since we got back. I think he blames himself."
Eyes glinting with understanding, Skizz nods, "Let him in. How long was I out for?"
Walking over to the door, Impulse answers, "only a few hours."
Peeking his head around the door frame Tango nervously locks eyes with Skizz, "hi..."
"Hey buddy, come over here," Skizz pats the bed beside him.
Tango slowly walks over to Skizz, an ever so slight frown takes over his face, "Is your eye ok?"
"What do you mean?" Skizz asks as Tango climbs up onto the bed.
"It's got flecks of black in the white part," Tango flicks his tail.
"Hand me my communicator," Skizz frowns as he tries to stifle a yawn.
Tango grabs the device and hands it to Skizz. Flipping the camera around to use it like a mirror he reaches his hand up to his eye, "Oh..."
"Is it affecting your vision?" Impulse asks concerned.
"I don't think so," Skizz murmurs, "It looks normal."
"That's good at least," Tango chuffs.
Nodding Skizz yawns again and lays down, a few minutes later he's asleep.
_________
In the next few days Skizz's condition neither worsens or improves. The withering effect is still there.
He needs help to stand up, and he can't stay awake for long periods of time. The wither effect is one of the worst to have stick around. Milk won't fix it, Xisuma's tried to remove it, another respawn didn't do anything, nothing works.
Tango's moved up to being ten by the time something changes.
The withering effect disappears. No warning. Just gone. Skizz feels a lot better.
"Hey guys," He grins, waving to Tango and Impulse, "The wither effect is gone."
"That's awesome," Tango chirps, flaring his wings out and wiggling his tail.
"Really?" Impulse asks beaming as Skizz nods, "That's good, just be prepared for the meteor to start doing stuff now that that's out of the way."
Grimacing Skizz nods, "That's a good point, well, Dibbledop, what do you think we should do?"
Impulse shrugs, "Wait it out."
"That's all we really can do about this stuff," Tango sighs, his wings falling to his sides, a few feathers drifting off, "Oh great... I'm molting."
"Molting?"
"My wings drop old feathers and new ones grow in," Tango explains, "It's only happened once before."
"He and Grian tend to get kinda grumpy and there's going to be feathers everywhere," Impulse explains.
Nodding Skizz laughs, "Makes sense."
_____
Over the course of the next week a collection of small subtle changes have started to make themselves known.
He's definitely grown a few inches. His pants reaching down to a few inches above his ankles.
One eye has gone completely dark. Black except for a small brown iris. He can still see just fine.
He's gotten rather skeletal looking, bones seemingly jutting out of his thin frame.
He hasn't needed to eat as much as normal. It's not all that concerning, he's part undead, and Impulse's transformation does not require a lot of food either.
Withered skin has started to creep up his fingers and toes. The pitch black dead looking skin crawling in streaks all across his body. His skin is slightly gray. The color leaching out.
"Is it over?" Skizz asks looking down at the message Doc had sent him.
"Hmm," Impulse hums, "I think he means the physical side of things is over, now it's like side effects and stuff like that."
"Oh, that makes sense... I think," Skizz shrugs.
___________
"Hey Tango," Skizz calls over to his friend... who is currently a teanager and spread out on the couch, taking up the entire thing.
"Hi."
"How'd you end up respawning if you don't mind me asking?"
"Oh, yeah... boatem made a giant boat over the big eyes shopping district, it blocked out the light and I went over there and died to Zombies," Tango explains, wiggling his tail around, "I took most of it down yesterday with Grian and Scar."
"Yeah?"
"Oh yeah, kid me thought it was the funniest thing- woah... dude you feel that?"
"Yeah, wait you guys have earthquakes?"
"Yeah... i think it's the update," Tango shrugs, "Voids losing some of it's space. So it might be a bit mad?"
Skizz shrugs, "Ok, I'll go with that..."
"Moon's big too,"Tango laughs then stops as he spots something, "Dude... look at the fern..."
The large house plants leaves have shriveled up and are turning black.
"You withered it," he whispers...
"Gahh," Skizz yelps and moves away from the plant, "UH that's not good, not good at all."
Tango stands up and locks eyes with his friend, "I'll see if Hypno can help," With that he's gone.
Skizz gets up and looks outside. It looks pretty nice out, so he heads for the door. The moment he gets into the sunlight he feels it start to burn. Ducking back inside he frowns. That can't be good.
A slight woosh sounds rattling the building, "Howdy."
"Oh, hey Joe..." Skizz backs away from the green haired man, a bit startled at his sudden appearance.
Joe girins, "I was told that you might need some help with the sun."
"Okay."
"Ive had some experience with the deads problems with the sun," He grins holding his fingers up to mimic fangs
Skizz nods, "who told you?"
"Her children..."
"Ok then, uh i just need fire resistance right?"
"Yes, you don't need a full strength one. So it can be cut with water," Joe explains, handing him a few potion bottles, "These will last a day each."
"Cool thank you," Skizz grins.
"Least i could do to help," Joe smiles back before vanishing in a puff of smoke.
"K then..."
About ten minutes later Tango flies back with Hypno and Max.
The magic user and pseudo dragon land, quite more gracefully than Tango who lands in a heap and flurry of feathers.
After making sure Tango didn't get hurt they head inside. Hypno and Max teach him to control his magic. Teach him to not wither things with a touch.
He picks it up pretty quickly. Learning to control his magic.
_________
On his last night on the Hermitcraft server Skizz smiles at his friends. They have a good time.
The transformations didn't mess Skizz up too much. He's ok, for the most part. Shaken up and changed, but he'll make it through everything.
Skizzleman left the world
[Hours later]
TangoTek fell from a high place
Impulse: I'll come get you.
[30 minutes later]
ImpulseSV: has anyone seen tango
Notes:
I hope you've enjoyed reading
As for how many fic's
Im going with 55 (so there will only be about 5 more non one shot fics)
It's better for my mental state and honestly I feel like it's the best option
I hope no one's to upset.
Just know I do plan on making a full edit, so I will probably add those transformations then. (updated will be on ao3 only)
