Chapter 36: Wild information
| LEXI MICHAELSON |
"I... I think you're probably drunk or mistaken, I mean, you sound like an agent." I tried to take the situation lightly.
She would not happen to be drunk, would she? I looked properly in her eyes, there were no signs of haziness which commonly appears after drinking. Her eyes were sharp and steely as they usually are, but honesty was pooling in her eyes. Her mouth was also set in a straight line, as if she was literally, very honest.
"Does it look like I am joking to you, dear Lexi? Try to be serious for a moment!" Aria whispered. "Your life is at stake here and all-"
"Excuse me, but you have no right to care for my life considering you're not number one on my friends list." I snapped.
"I know, I'm not so special in your life and I don't really care about your life. Oh believe me, not really. But I care for Blake and his life who cares for your life more than his own. So forgive me if I care for a matter like this and waste my time over you. But I have to tell you this; Stay away from Vincent." She growled.
I was completely taken aback. Completely and utter shocked I was. This woman right here was so persistent on telling me.
But what if she's right?
"I'm sorry. What were you saying? Vince isn't who it think he is? How?" I changed my tone suddenly because I was too curious to let this information go, how much false this could be.
"Vincent is involved in the rivalry against your brother. I know who your brother is, Isaac Michaelson who runs a perfect company in Australia. And I'm pretty sure famous people do have rivals or enemies."
"But why would Isaac have enemies? He's such a nice person a-"
"This isn't a world of flowers, Lexi. Grow up! People are nasty, and even more jealous about the wealth! Of course your brother has enemies who are after his company, his wealth and his fame!"
"You're right. So what does it have to do with Vincent?"
"As I said, Lexi, your friend Vincent is a person who is probably assigned to gather information about your brother from you so that his father could use it against him. His father, Adriano Accorsi is a world known businessman. I bet you didn't even know Vince's last name, did you?"
"N- No, I didn't. He never told me."
"That's right. He never told you because he only friend zoned you to squeeze out information about your family and brother. His sister, Allison Accorsi is also a fashion icon and is involved in this nasty work."
That's when everything fell in place like a piece of puzzle which went missing. Flashbacks started running in my mind like a movie.
Vincent asking me about my brother and sister and him zoning out from time to time.
Vincent staring up at my brother intently when I introduced them both to each other.
My brother crying about his ex-girlfriend Allison who left him because of 'family problems'.
Actually, those family problems would be this, considering she is the daughter of a money eater and sister of a backstabber who are after my brother's fame.
What, in god's name, should I do? Go directly to my brother or confront Vincent?
"I met Allison once, on the night of an opening of a boutique. I wouldn't say she's her father's daughter truthfully. I mean, she was so full of her father's money and whatever, but she showed it in a way which told everyone that she's not a fan of her father's doings. God knows what she is up to." Aria blew at her polished nails. "Haven't your brother told you anything about his love life?"
"I know who Allison is, he told me they broke up because apparently she had family problems."
"Oh, quite the game she played, by the way. They've been going out for at least two years, isn't it?" She spoke as if she didn't care about one thing in the world.
I sighed. This whole thing made my mind all jumbled up. There was an issue about my own safety and then there was issue about my brother's safety. I just hoped my family wouldn't come in the way for them. Oh boy, what if they mark my parents to be the next? Holy cow! This couldn't happen! I must tell someone about it immediately.
"So, um... My safety is at line here? We should be more worried about my dear brother." I blurted out.
She rolled her eyes.
"Again, I am not really worried about you or your brother, Lexi. I am just doing this because if God forbids, something happens to you, Blake wouldn't be able to control himself and thus, this leads me worrying for his life. Do you hear me? I care for him and if you'll be so kind as to ignore him once again, I'll not hesitate to jump into your place and who knows, I might conquer it." Aria threw a cold glance at me and stood up, leaving her coffee untouched.
She left.
And I was left pondering.
And I vowed to not take this matter hardly. It could be solved easily.
Right?

Blake asked me for the gazillion time if I was okay and why did I feel the need to leave campus for a 'talk' with Aria. Suspicion rose within him quickly and I plead, literally, not to go and ask Aria because I feared that she could make a move.
Better be safe than be sorry, right?
After all, I was in love with him. I couldn't even imagine what I would do if I were to lose him.
"Halloween is on Sunday, this year. Too bad we wouldn't have a work day off." Blake frowned.
"The only thing I like about Halloween is candies. Spooky stuff makes me cringe." I forcefully diverted my mind from the conversation with Aria earlier.
"Indeed, it does. You're a little frightened deer." He stole a kiss on my cheek.
We were attending a class!
"So, Vince is throwing a party at his house. Halloween special." Blake said, unknowingly.
Two different and polar opposite voices rang in my head.
1- Vince... I should stay away from him. He's bad news.
2- Vince's house? Where I can search his room and find out by myself if he really is working against my brother?
"Really? Are you going?" I managed to ask.
"Are you kidding? No! I'm annoyed of him." He laughed while copying notes from the board.
"Annoyed? Because of the fights?" I asked.
"Kind of. You know what is it that I find strange? He keeps asking me about you and your brother. Like hell I know!" He chuckled.
"He asks about my brother?"
"Yeah, and about you. I don't tell him one shit." He smiled and held my hand.
Upon this gesture, and the stomach wrenching thoughts, my heart skipped a beat and I suddenly felt hot in the cool room. I looked around the four corners as I felt a tug at my hand.
"You okay?" Blake's smile faltered.
I blinked my eyes several times. "Yeah, I am. Just felt a bit tired."
But even I was not aware of the storm building up in my body and mind.
