Chapter 35: Problems upon problems
| LEXI MICHAELSON |
Upon hearing the wrong statement in which sweet Odin made me faint, both of the boys stopped fighting and turned to me, beseeched. I just stood there, gazing back at Blake with my mouth open and arms crossed.
"Why do you guys always fight? Is that-?"
"Not now, Lexi." Blake mumbled and parted ways with all of us, who were standing nearby. Even Vincent left the latter and disappeared.
I was determined to get the answers out of Blake.
"No, I will talk right now, and you will answer right away!" I shouted.
"Lexi. Drop it." Blake grabbed a water bottle from his backpack and strutted towards the exit of the university where the parking area was. I was hot on his heels.
"No, Blake. No. What's up with you two, anyway? Ever since the pool party, you always fight with him. Was that over me?" I asked, walking quickly to match his pace.
"Not everything's about you." He mumbled and walked more quickly towards his car which was beside mine.
Is it bad to feel a teensy weensy bit disappointed over his statement?
"Maybe, it is! Who knows?" I was shoved on to Blake's car by the owner himself as my back was facing the window. I gasped at the impact, while Blake's eyes were fuming, and cold.
"Shut it, right now." He growled, leaning closer to me.
"And what if I don't want to?" I challenged, wrong move, I know.
He stared at me, his nostrils flaring in anger and his breathing fast, probably to tame the anger bubbling inside him. But who cares! I need my answers which both of the boys always hide from me!
His gaze was strong, and somewhat of a predator about to chase and eat his prey to fill his desires. A shudder went through my spine when I squared my shoulders and stared back confidently in his eyes. Only when I tried to speak more, he leaned in.
He forcefully landed his lips on mine. The ferocity was much harsher than I thought it would be. I closed my eyes and stood still for a moment, hoping that Blake would end this kiss because we were not done talking. But unfortunately, that was impossible. Blake only groaned, which made me moan involuntarily and he applied more force. Over all, I gave in and kissed him back, because I knew I wouldn't be able to resist him anymore.
Once we pulled back, his eyes were sparkling with joy. "I'm sorry, it was actually about you." Blake had said.
"Me? Why?" I knew actually. Blake was jealous.
"Don't you dare tell me that you didn't know about Vince's interest in you? That was literally annoying." He chuckled in amusement.
"So you meant to say; you're jealous." I mocked him, pulling his cheek.
He stared at me for longer than necessary and leaned closer to bite my earlobe. That felt ticklish as I squirmed and squealed lowly. "Let's go." He got in his car and I got in mine.
"See you tomorrow." I smiled at him as he smiled back, then, we both drove away.

Isaac was going back to Australia, today. When I went back home from University, I learned that my mother was the usual, my father was neutral, and my brother was preparing to leave. My cousins and aunt, however, were still the pain in the arse as always.
I even tried I persuade my brother to stay just until the start of this summer but he said it would be too cold and flights could be cancelled in Australia. I scowled and let him pass. But before leaving, he made sure to talk briefly to my parents, my aunt and me. Our conversation went from his ex-girlfriend to my newly found infatuation with Blake. He made me swear that I wouldn't give up on him and that I wouldn't assume things too quickly. Of course, I took an oath on it. He even told me that according to him, he has convinced my parents to let me see whoever I want to see, and the matter with my grandmother would be solved easily because me and my siblings were very 'charming'. His syllables not mine.
Even though my mother was not happy about the idea of me seeing someone before marriage, my father agreed... hesitantly. He talked to me about how I should stay low and discreet just to be sure my cousins won't get the whiff of it. How I should be appropriate on a secret rendezvous. What to say, what not to say. How to act, how not to act. Literally every lesson and warnings were given to me before my dad embraced me and told me he was putting his trust on me and that he was proud that I learned to stand on my own at a very young age.
The next day, when I walked into the campus lobby, I was instantly pulled to the corner and was trapped in a pair of muscular arms. I looked up to see icy blue and purple eyes staring back at me, filled to the brim with emotions. I felt his breath on my forehead as he smiled at me.
"Hey." Blake nibbled at my ear lobe.
"Hi." I giggled while smiling up at him. "We are fine."
Surprise appeared on his face. "We are?"
"Absolutely, yes. Yes, we are. And my parents are fine with it." I spoke happily.
"That's wonderful." I giggled again. He groaned. "I missed you, come here."
We both leaned in as he placed a small kiss on my lips. Just after pulling away, I pulled him again for a long kiss. Our lips caressed each other's with emotions of longing and love. When we pulled away, breathless, he smiled at me. "That was amazing."
I smiled wide. "You are amazing."
"That should be my words to say to you." He chuckled. "Anyways, my mommy dear is dying to meet you. Will you come at my place today?"
"Sure. I'd love to." I pecked his lips.
"I know you would." He pecked my lips. "And I need to tell you something."
I pecked again. "What is it?"
"I'll tell you when you'll come over today." He pecked again.
"I can't wait." I pecked his lips. "Now stop kissing and let's get to the class."
He pecked my lips with a kiss for probably a hundredth time. "You stop."
"First you." I kissed his lips.
"Ladies first." He smirked and pecked again.
I giggled at his pun. Bringing my palm on his rock hard chest, I pushed him and walked away with a smile on my face. When I was nearing my first class got today, somebody called my name.
"Lexi. I need to tell you something."
I stopped in my tracks and looked back to see the brunette girl with a strikingly beautiful outfit on her toned body. Aria stared at me with sorrow and grim eyes. Her mouth was set in a frown as she looked at me from an inch away.
"Aria, it's good to see you." I frowned at her appearance.
"Same to you. Do you think you could maybe spare this class and come talk to me?" She frowned, worry was written on her face.
"But, this-"
"Lexi, I need you to listen. It's for your own safety!" She said, coming closer. "I'm sorry, but I have to inform you about something which I cannot talk about here. We need a private space."
My eyes searched for any kind of joke in her eyes but her eyes were either guarded or worry was literally dripping off her eyes. I cleared my throat. "Uh... Sure. Let's go to the cafeteria?"
"No, actually. Let's go to a coffee shop down the road. We're less likely to be heard." She whispered.
"I guess, let's go then." I pursed my lips tightly and walked out of the perimeter of the campus.
The walk down the road towards the coffee shop was agonisingly awkward as we walked side by side. I and Aria entered the coffee shop, we sat on a corner booth and she ordered coffee for us. When the waitress was gone after taking our orders, Aria leaned in closer to whisper.
"I guess you don't know that you've been under someone's watch since you started seeing Vincent. You've been very lucky about your safety for the past months." Aria said in a low tone.
Goosebumps appeared on my skin. What?
"What are you talking about?" I shrieked.
She winced. "Please, be discreet."
"Why? What the hell is going on?" I slammed my hand on the table.
"I guess you're curious now. You need to listen carefully, and don't talk about this to anyone." She said seriously.
"Promise. What is it?" I waited for her to tell.
"Vincent is not what you think he is." She replied. "He's been faking it."
