Chapter 30: My daughter
| BLAKE ADAMS |
Loads of strict glares and questions later, we decided it was time for us to make a plan on how to convince her parents.
"If it makes this any easier," Isaac cocked his head and pointed his finger at me. "I'm not that strict as I'm trying to be, right now."
And then he grinned.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. "Good to know." I grinned also. "I thought you might be one of those brothers who will murder the guy for so much as to glance with a dirty eye towards their sisters."
"Watch out, Blake. I have many talents, one of them could be this one you're describing right now." He said, rather mockingly.
I laughed at this. "Man, you're an amazing brother I hope you know that." I looked down. "Unlike some of them let their brothers go as if that didn't mean anything to them."
His brows furrowed. "Really? What has happened in your past? That was kinda deep, bro."
"Uh, that's a story for another time to tell." I smirked at him.
"That's rather childish, don't you think?" He smirked back. "By the way, I have arranged a meeting for you with my dad at this same place."
I gulped. "Your dad..."
He laughed at my expression and patted my back lightly. "Don't worry, man. I'll be there, too."
"That's alright, then." I grinned and sipped my coffee casually.

Blake just told me over the phone about his meeting with my brother. Although my brother was quite cynical about how I had confessed my love at a very young age, I hadn't bothered to reply once. I didn't want any more doubts about my feelings just now. But the thing I was more worried about was this new meeting my dad was supposed to have with Blake. I wondered if my father would be judgmental or nice. Would my father even consider us for a moment?
I laughed lightly and humorlessly while shaking my head. See, this is what love does to people. Even if I'm turning twenty-one in three months, my parents still think they should be possessive over me. Why shouldn't they think, they are my parents after all. If my life was a story book or a novel, it should be named as Forbidden love. Because technically, love before marriage is a sinful act in my family and whoever even thinks of attempting this sin; is punished.
This whole drama made my brain go whirring completely. I was so much worried and tensed that I was just pacing around in my room while eating chocolates. I'm so mature; notice the sarcasm.
"What are you so worried about? Losing your so-called love?" I heard a venomous voice say from the entrance of my room.
I turned around to see it was Amy; my deadly enemy. At least that's what I wanted her to be.
"Shoo, aren't you worried about that little boyfriend of yours? Ricky, was it?" I smirked then I gasped, mockingly. "Or is it not? A little bird told me that he's gay?"
She came closer and glared at me. "Easy on the insults, cousin. I can ruin your so called love in just a matter of seconds."
I rose my eyebrows. "Oh, rather childish, aren't you?"
"You..." She pointed her finger at me. "Shut your mouth! And don't forget you're in the middle of hell, right now."
I crossed my arms against my chest and stood tough. I was empowering her height because she was still in high school and shorter than me.
"And don't forget your mom is hell. You career might be ruined if she'd get to know about your little gay boyfriend." I smiled at her reaction. She was balling her fists and getting crazy in anger, it was a fun sight to see, to be honest.
"You little stick-like figure!" She shouted and walked away from me quickly and out of the room.
I didn't know why, or how, but her little insult got to me. You know why, because I was way too insecure about my body appearance and didn't want any more bullies. Before I could think, my feet carried me towards her, walking quickly. I shouted at her to stop but she didn't as she descended down to the floor from long stairs which were opening in the living room. My mind started getting mad from anger and all I could see was red. I was very damn angry, that I couldn't stop myself from launching at her when Amy jumped on the couch, and sat herself on it.
I noticed her mom, which means my aunt from my father's side, came rushing out after hearing the loud stomping sound of our feet. I couldn't care less about her as I grabbed Amy's blonde hair in my fist and pulled her towards me. Just before I could stop myself, a loud smack sound echoed in my ears as my right palm started tingling.
And that tingling sensation in my right palm, brought me back to my senses as I stared at the floor in complete and utter horror.
Freaking chocolate with whipped cream on it!
I just slapped my very own cousin in front of her mother! Not that she deserved it, but I knew what was about to come.

"Alexandria, have you gone completely crazy?!" My mother's blood curdling voice boomed in the mansion.
Holy mother of... Chocolate!
I looked from my mom to Amy, who was staring at me wide eyed, in shock, then to her mother, who had hint of a smirk but she quickly wiped it off when she saw me glaring.
I heard my mother came closer to me as I tried to compose my breathing. My mother held me by my shoulders as she shook me harshly.
"Mom-" I stopped speaking once when she glared at me with the scariest eyes ever.
"You disappointing little girl! Do you not have any respect for your own family members?! Why did you feel the want to slap Amy?" She pushed me away from her.
Disappointing little girl...
"I'm sorry, mom. I-" I choked once she harshly grabbed my left ear and I yelped in pain.
"You are not sorry! You always think to disappoint this familia! You are a complete disappointment!" My mother boomed.
"Genelia, leave my daughter this instant." My father's authoritative voice boomed loudly, yet calmly.
My daughter?
Hearing my father's voice, the tears spilled from my eyes and I ran towards him. "Dad!" I hugged him.
My father was standing stiffly with his hands tied behind his back. "Alexandria." Father called my name as I listened to him. "What's the matter?"
"Dad, I'm not- believe me I- I didn't just slap Amy because I wanted to. It's just that- she provoked me to do it, I swear..." I kept sobbing and choking on my words that it was hard to speak. There was this lump growing inside my throat that was hard to gulp.
My father's eyes widened a bit. Upon hearing my words, he shook his head. "Why?"
"Dad, she was threatening me!" I pointed out.
"That's not a reason for you to slap people around." My father said and walked towards the couch to sit on it, one beside where Amy was sitting.
"But, she called me a stick figure and made fun about my health..." I mumbled. "You know what has happened to me in high school, don't you?"
My mother spoke up. "That was your fault you became like this, Alexandria."
At this, I just stared at my mom in horror. What has changed my very own mother into my enemy so quickly?!
"You stay quiet, Genelia. I'm talking to my daughter here..." My father warned my mother. Amy was still weeping falsely while holding her cheek and her mother was watching the scene quietly.
My daughter...
"Amy, calling people names is as bad as doing a crime, and I hope you knew that since your childhood. Is it not?" My father acknowledged Amy who just nodded and cried more. Fake ass Barbie.
"Alexandria, apologise for your mistake and Amy, you too. Then both of you go to your room because we adults need to talk." My father said stiffly, and that's when I noticed that my father went for a meeting with Blake.
As we did what my father told me to do, me and Amy, grudgingly walked back to our separate rooms, and I had no idea what my parents talked about.
What I could only do, was to hope for the best and text the only unresponsive person, Blake.
I texted him multiple times and still got no reply. Finally, I laid on my bed and hoped for a good night sleep.
