Chapter 2: Ride me home
{A/N: The guy above is BLAKE ADAMS.}
| LEXI MICHAELSON |
It's been a long day today, August is not my favorite month. Cold and rainy days, damp and humid nights that makes me cringe. Hopefully, I didn't run in to Black Coal today or else I'd have gone insane. I was in my last class when a girl asked me my full name through a crumbled paper. Of course I told her, it'd be weird to be shy and tell her that I didn't want to tell her my full name. But I lied a bit. I didn't tell her my name was Alexandria. Just that, Lexi Rose Michaelson.
Walking out of the campus and going to the parking lot, I don't know, but my eyes wandered to the wide area of parking lot, searching for someone or something, don't know and don't care.
Opening the door of my car, I stepped one foot in, but someone calling me by my middle name, stopped me.
"Rose!" The parking lot was full and packed. I moved my eyes for the caller but couldn't decipher the voice also. I shrugged and got settled in my car, I decided not to turn on the air conditioner because the weather was quite chilly and I didn't care if my hair would catch the humid because I'm gonna take a shower at home, duh.
"Rose, wait." Someone called again, but now, it was right from outside of my car door window.
"What the f- Holy shit!" I screamed, jolting away a bit from the source of voice and catching the pattern of my breathing by putting a hand over my chest.
I looked up to see black coal laughing with his eyes closed, his mouth wide open. "Oh my, you should have... Seen your face." He laughed further. "You were like 'holy shit'." He imitated my reaction.
Annoyance fumed inside of me at his attempt of laughing at serious matter. I could have gotten a heart attack for crying out loud!
"Stop laughing." I gritted my teeth. He laughed more, while pushing his body back and leaning on the car beside mine. Somehow, his laugh started to descend but when he saw my face, he laughed more, with more voice. I could feel myself blushing at his laughing sound and then I saw myself in the side mirror. Holy cow! My face was as red as a tomato. "Stop!" I shouted a bit louder but he didn't seem to stop. I grew more frustrated and hit him hard on his muscular arm. Surprisingly, that seemed to stop his laugh.
"Was that a slap? It felt like a feather..." He chuckled a bit. "Seriously, Rose. You look cuter when you're red as a strawberry. And what with the scaring away thing? Are you that frightened?"
"No. I simply-" he cut me off.
"Boo!" He jerked his hands and shouted.
"What the hell is wrong with you?! Stop this!" I shouted again. For embarrassing myself, I was frightened. Once again. I hit him again, more harshly and he took this as a cue to stop laughing and grew serious.
"Woah, I'm sorry, just thought that would be funny." He made a face and shrugged his shoulders.
"What do you want?" I asked right away.
"Uh, my car is kind of frozen, I don't know, it's just not starting. I've checked obviously but I can't get a hold of it. So I wanted a ride home and I can't catch anyone else because no one's been my friend today. It was just you." He said, his eyes looking straight at me.
Was this a prank? Something the popular guys would do to innocent girls at their first day? I totally would not like the idea of me being pranked by Black Coal. He's something else. I checked my surrounding for any guy holding a camera and laughing secretly, but found none.
"And you want a ride with me." As I said, I saw Black Coal murmured something incoherent while looking away.
"Nice catch, Sherlock." He rolled his eyes at me, smiling smugly.
"If you want a ride with me, be nice. Or else catch a taxi back home." I rolled my eyes at him and opened the lock for the passenger seat.
"Right. Let's go." He said, while settling in my car and closing the door.
The car ride was silent and awkward. I mean, what would you expect me to do? I've never had a guy sitting with me in my car, especially the hot one. Okay, there I admit, he was hot. But he was a total arse from the inside. I moved my hand to turn on the radio and at the same time, his hand moved, too. My stomach jumbled at the collision of his and my hand. I jerked back right away and told him to turn on the radio. The song 'Good for you' by Selena Gomez was playing and I cringed. Selena's songs were just not for me. She sang way too slowly and seductively.
"Change the channel. Ew." I said while turning to the other road.
"Why? Selena's voice is damn sexy." In a way; the word sexy came out of his mouth made me light headed.
"She sings as if she's gonna bring all the guys to her yard." I quote one if my favorite singers.
We bantered about the songs for good ten minutes until I realized I never asked his address. "Where do you live?"
"Why so eager? I'd tell you my address later, it's just the beginning." He winked and smirked.
"You're not funny." I said in a robotic voice.
"Only a few houses away from your place." He said bluntly.
"What?!" I shouted. Has he been creeping on me? That jerk, I swear.
"What what? You didn't know?" He pulled up the sleeves of his black shirt all the way to his elbows, making him look so much attractive.
"We just met today! How am I supposed to know?" I yelped.
"We just met today!" He mimicked me. "And I just moved here a week ago. I saw you when you were watering the roses in your front yard. Beautiful roses by the way."
"Thanks but no thanks for creeping on me." I scolded.
"It's cool."
Dropping him off and going to home and listening to my cousins judging me about my outfit was difficult but not anything I haven't heard before. My aunt from my father's side and her three kids who were just like my age - some older or some younger but not exactly my age - started to live in our mansion like home when my brother Isaac started his own business line. I haven't heard from my brother for like five months, he's been too busy to even talk. I don't mind though. While my sister, Rachel is studying Fashion Designer and is going to be a great designer. I love my two siblings, but my cousins are prude, judgmental son of a biscuits who just stay here like they own it rather than my brother.
"Alex, your hair looks like a bird's nest." One of my cousins said and they all cackled together.
"I don't care." I mumbled and walked back into my room to hibernate till next morning, to leave happily for college. But to be honest, my cousins are getting on my every single nerve these days and I can't wait to actually tell them to fuck off.
*you are getting fat. Lose some weight*
*change your lipstick, pink looks boring on you*
*dress up more beautifully just a little bit more, to get the millionaire look*
Seriously, they are money eaters. All they think about is money.

"Hey." Someone called from my backside. I turned around to be met with a guy with Orange-y colored hair.
"Yeah?" I said, having no interest.
"Will you go out with me? A date?" He asked shyly. What the hell?
"I'm sorry, but who are you?" I asked.
"I'm Troy. And you are Lexi. Yes or no?" He asked.
"I'm sorry but no." I blinked slowly. The guy, Troy then left, letting me see Black Coal behind him.
"Woah, already getting dates, are we?" He smirked, coming my way.
There we go again.
