"Lobelia?" Metanoia slowly approached the girl's body and removed the belt from around her neck, catching the body into her arms. She noticed the discoloration of Lobelia's skin, then put the body down to check different locations for a pulse.

"Come on... wake up... Saki ordered me to protect you!" She continued desperately searching, for even the slightest heartbeat. The android only grew more confused and frustrated by the situation. She had lacked the sufficient knowledge to handle these situations or resuscitate others. "Lobelia..."

The chilly wind brushed past both white haired females, carrying the smell of passing. Minutes of silence, failed resurrection and wretched hope. "I can't save you from Hugo and Kismet... How was I supposed to save you from yourself." She paused. "Mankinds greatest enemy was always itself..."

"Big words, Metanoia."

The previously mentioned man and his android stood behind her, their guards were down. Hugo looked rather perturbed, after seeing his own daughters death- but he still had a prideful aura.

"She's dead." He added.

"I... I don't understand."

"She's dead. deceased. Perished."

Kismet silently observed and inspected the corpse before her. Quickly figuring out that it was a suicide. "Humans... They are truly interesting."

"What am I supposed to do now?" Metanoia looked up at them with child like eyes. Like a vulnerable calf, despite how the enemy stood only feet away. "I failed my orders..."

"Hmm, Well I was planning to simply destroy you because you posed threat. But it appears after meeting my daughter and the disgusting rats that followed her you have turned impotent. I'll just take you back to my lab and wipe your memory."

"What do you mean by impotent?"

"Useless. you have grown soft and it has made you weak."

"And when you wipe my memory. What will you make me do then?" She felt rather lost, unsure, unable to vision. Her friends are gone. Now what?

"A lot of questions, hmm? We'll just go back to the usual. The surviving humans need to stay sane for a little longer."

'The usual? Back when I was made to sit still and listen to the same ridiculous prayers over and over again and shine some light to give them an excuse for hope?' Metanoia remembered the happy, vigorous memories she made the past months with John, Saki, and Lobelia. No part of her wanted to go back to the first 'life' she was given.

"They aren't even sane. Neither are you." The white haired android let go of Lobelia's corpse and stood up. "I refuse to go back."

"That's unfortunate."

Metanoia clenched her fists. She was determined not to go back to the cyborg's living hell.

"I'll be frank." Kismet looked away from the corpse and onto the two talking out the situation. "The world out here is far greater than the place you kept us, Hugo. It is boring. However I will still faithfully oblige to your orders."

Hugo sighed and gave them a distant look, as if thinking.

"If you are still indecisive on the best course of action, my proposal is we destroy Metanoia now. It saves us much time. As for the humans, they can be dealt with other means. In the end they all meet the same fate, we all do." The war angel continued.

Metanoia did not move an inch. Escaping did not cross her mind.

But for even a moment, for a second, she wanted to feel like she was a human. Like she lived the life of a human.

"Kill me, please."
