Silence, silence, silence.

It was only silence for Metanoia and John. From the moment the two separated from Saki and Lobelia, not a single word has been uttered.

Mild thoughts like 'Is Metanoia tired yet?' or 'are the girls okay?' would pass John's mind, the same for the android, but none bothered to speak on it.

The silence didn't last for long though. The war angel was quick to track down the two. When she landed, the ground visibly shook, her feet firm against the soil which reeked of a lasting pollution.

"Die." She spoke. And from her back emerged guns. Many, many guns. Some like mini turrets, & submachine guns. Metanoia dropped the bags she held and pushed John to the side. Both stumbled and hid behind the nearest tree while Kismet continued to shoot her guns.

"I need to fight back. But I don't know how." The white haired android looked at the ground, unsure of what she was feeling. Scared? Disappointed?

The war angel slowly continued to where her targets sat.

"I'm- i'm sorry John."

"It's fine." The male responded. He was not scared, a part of him already accepted his death and he began mumbling his final will.

The painful sound of the guns grew closer, and closer. Metanoia turned to take a quick glance at the pursuer and saw the ground melting due to a corrosive element.

"The guns, they are corrosive."

The unnerved android grew bothered at how John did not respond, let alone even look frightened. She could easily tell that he had already given up, but she knew Saki and Lobelia wouldn't be okay with it.

Before Kismet finally made her way to the two, chuckling with a sinister tone, the sound of another two gunshots from a distance rung their ears.

John's eyes widened, looking appalled. He slowly opened his mouth to utter something.

"M-metanoia... Go. To them..."

"John? But what about you?" The android gulped, it was mere seconds before they were about to get shot to death.

"It is an order. I order you to go save the girls!" He yelled. Metanoia turned away and raised her palm at an instant. An extremely bright ray of light flashed at Kismet's face, blinding her and making her fall back.

A single bullet hit Metanoia's leg, but she did not feel it. Quickly, she dashed into the air and followed the sound of the gunshots she heard previously, feeling regretful for having to leave John behind.

It wasn't long till Metanoia reached the two, staring at a tall male cyborg in horror.

"It's your choice, sweetheart." He told them. Lobelia's head turned to look at Metanoia as soon as she noticed the android's presence.

"Where's John?" She muttered softly.

"Huh?" Saki, who was staring at Hugo with blurring vision snapped out of the dismayed emotions the situation was giving her.

"Whoops, looks like I'm too late!" Hugo chirped, then shot Lobelia an antagonizing look. "This. This was all your fault, and that worthless trash of a friend you have! You took my daughter away from me!" He screamed at her.

"Shut up!" The female cyborg screamed back. "Lobelia and John have nothing to do with this! I left because I didn't want to be your lab rat anymore, and It was my choice to bring them with me!"

"Lobelia? John? You gave them names?"

Hugo sneered at his daughter then pulled out his gun, aiming it at the white haired female.

Lobelia's face was filled with fear, and dread. She was so scared she was paralyzed. She couldn't move. She wanted to move. But her body wouldn't let her.

Before any next move was made, a heavy wind blew against the group, and Kismet landed with a satisfied grin on her face. She was blood stained. Blood dripped from her face, blood ran down from the edges of her clothing.

The eyes of Saki, Metanoia, and Lobelia widened at the sight while Hugo began chuckling.

"I need to do something." The horiffied android thought while she observed the crimson blood, her friend's blood drip against the ground.

I can't fight... I don't know how. It isn't in my program. I haven't seen anything combat related...

She sprinted over to the two girls then opened both her palms facing Hugo and Kismet, once again a burst of light, much larger than last time filled the area and blinded the two.

She grabbed Saki and Lobelia's hands and ran off to escape the cruel cyborg and his war angel. 'The best thing I can think off for now is to retreat.'
