08 || Part II

An overly enthusiastic cyborg, hormonal teenage girl having an identity crisis, and a bleeding teenage male who suppressed so much emotion he acts like a better cyborg than the cyborg herself. That is what they were as they loathed every second outside the vicinity. None of them would've thought that it was better there than out here.

"Aaand here!" The group simultaneously dropped the loaded bags onto the ground, after hours of walking.  The cyborg felt it was a little miracle that they haven't been chased down yet.

"Guess I should patch you up then huh?"

"Yes... Please." 71 hitched a breath, he was numb to the stinging sensation but felt light-headed.

"I-I should be the one to do it." 72 started digging through the bags, for bandages. "It is my fault he ended up this way in the first place."

"Aww, don't worry! I'm good at stuff like this!"

"No please, let me do it-"

The two girls sighed at each other, the cyborg knowing which bag had the bandages, quickly dug it out and began bandaging the wounded boy's wounds.

"I'm Saki by the way!" She introduced whilst fixing the boy up.

"Eh? You go by name, not number?" 72 asked. "I mean... Makes sense I guess, rumors said those in the other building were treated differently..."

"I uhh, I'm a special case hehe." Saki giggled awkwardly, her face shifting into a rather sad look. "Though I honestly don't think people from where I stayed were treated any better."

"Oh."

"Can I give you two names?"

71 and 72 gave each other a quick look, then looked at the cyborg. "Like... Names other than the numbers we have?" The male asked.

"Yep!"

"That's fine with me."

"Me too!" 72 squeeled.

"Hmm okay!" Saki finished bandaging 71 and returned the leftover bandages and other equipment into the bag she took them from, then pausing to think of names.

When she looked at the wide haired girl, her thoughts lingered to when she first met her. A tiny little girl who dared raise a finger at an adult. No one has ever stood out, never has she seen one so brave.

"Lobelia. Fatal and stunning." She smiled at 72 who was waiting in anticipation.

"Me?"

"Mmmhm! You remind me of a Lobelia, it was a flower that used to grow back when earth was not a dying planet. It's a very pretty flower, but if you ingest it, it's fatal."

"Saki..." The girl felt the urge to cry happy tears. "I understood only half of whatever you just said but that sounds so sweet... Please don't speak in science language I don't listen to whatever the adults teach huhu but I love the name."

"I'm glad!"

"Wait why do you find me fatal?"

"I first met you years ago as a child cussing out a lady."

"Pfft." 71 snickered.

"I- I cussed too many of the adults to remember which time that was."

The three laughed for a moment, then Saki proceeded to deciding a name for 71.

There wasn't much about him. By glance you could tell he was gloomy and just about the same as every other kid that had their emotions suppressed due to constant punishment.

It didn't help that he had thick black hair that would cover his left eye, almost covering his right as well.

"Hnng I can't think of anything." The cyborg groans. "Let's just go with John for now. We'll change it when I think of something better!"

"John doesn't sound to bad though..." 72 raised her brow.

"It is when you grow up around people with names."

"I like it." 71 remarked. "We can keep it at that so you don't get too preoccupied over something such as names."

"But names are special!" Saki said with a whiny tone of voice. "If you really want to keep the name John though I don't mind, I guess."

"I'll keep it."

"Okay then! Also, we should continue our travel for a few more hours. Guards and adults may possibly be out looking for us."

"Right. But where are we supposed to go?" The boy asks.

"To wherever our feet takes us."

"Pretty vague but better than enduring everyday in that hellhole." 72 whistled.
