Chapter Three
The mist man didn't act very villainous, in fact, the second he saw Kanae the cat he sneezed violently, apologized, and then sneezed again. It was strange for Kanae to watch seeing as the man had no visible nose or mouth.
Some part of her feline mind decided she wanted attention regardless of how some cloudy human felt about it. So she hopped up onto a filing cabinet to be eye level with the intruder. He stared at her with narrowed... eye things.
Finally Kanae's rational side decided to go alert some faculty. She ran out of the room feeling the mist man's gaze on her until after she left the room.
She quickly changed into a faster form and sped off for the nearest teacher.
-----
Present Mic had just barely began his trek back to the faculty lounge when a freaking cheetah bound up to him. But before he could scream (as an attack, not because he was scared) the large cat slid to a stop in front of him, transforming at the same time into a kid he recognized as one of his new students.
Maybe she hadn't seen that it was a false alarm?
She pointed to the way she'd come and said the one word needed to push his heart into his throat.
"Intruder." She said, pointing to the side of the school opposite where the reporters had breached.
-----
An alert pinged simultaneously from the staff's phones.
Unknown intruder in south wing. Quirk unknown, purpose unknown. Mist head, vest, dress pants. PM in pursuit, requesting backup.
Aizawa cursed under his breath and set off for his foolhardy partner's location.
-----
Kanae was told to head back to her class out of the way, and never one to go against authority despite her burning curiosity she turned tail and ran (literally as she was a cheetah again) only to run into her homeroom teacher accompanied by several other pro's.
She turned back and pointed back towards where she had left Present Mic and the misty intruder.
Speaking quickly and concisely she brought them up quickly on what she had seen. If her teacher noticed how much more confident and quick she was at this moment he didn't comment on it, he simply nodded and took off.
Kanae felt strong and untouchable, the urge to race off as fast as she could was overwhelming. She knew that taking the form again so soon would only aggravate the feeling so she bound off as a gentle greyhound instead. Almost instantly her disposition mellowed out, But she could still feel feline traits warring against her mind.
A headache was creeping in as she finally arrived before her classroom door. She scratched at the door and rushed to her desk the second she was let in. Ignoring the shocked Frenchman as she leapt to her bag, reverting as she landed.
She clutched her head as the pain assaulted her mind. It had only been three forms but the entire situation has stressed her out immensely. She had been face to face with a villain and her stupid cat overconfidence and arrogance made her aggravate him directly. She could have died.
A comforting hand met her shoulder. Kanae leaned into her cousin's embrace as Momo pulled her prescribed medication from her bag.
"Kanae calm down, c'mon take this." The familiar pill was pushed into her hand and she dry swallowed it without pause.
"How many forms did you take?" Momo asked gently.
"Just three." Kanae said, rubbing her temples. "Really conflicting."
Momo nodded sympathetically and helped her into her seat. The class was staring but all Kanae wanted to do was rest. When her medication kicked in she laid her head down and relaxed into a nap.
-----
Uraraka leaned toward the Yaoyorozu and girls spoke in a hushed whisper, cautious of waking the slumbering girl.
"Is she okay?" She asked, pointing one pink-tipped finger at the comatose shape-shifter.
"Ah, yes. She's just sleeping off a headache. It happens occasionally." Momo smiled and began to put away her cousin's things. Iida soon came over as well, and with sweeping gestures asked after the sleeping girl.
Before Momo could reassure him, the intercom buzzed.
"Attention students, a lockdown has been implemented. All doors must remain locked. In the event that no teachers are present the class president is to take charge. Remain inside until further advised."
Immediately, eyes turned from Kanae to the curly haired boy they'd elected.
Midoriya stared back before he began muttering.
"We should bring ranged quirks forward as the first line of defense while we lock the door and shutter the window. Defensive quirks stationed at weak points. Close ranged quirks should stay together and try not to fight unless we have to." He started and looked up. "Uh, if that's alright with everyone?"
A good part of the class stood in shock as the quiet boy thought up an entire battle plan in literal seconds. But many remembered the previous day, when the boy had broken his finger to keep Aizawa from expelling him.
The boy might be small and unassuming, but he was in the hero course for a reason.
They all moved to follow his instructions.
-----
"What the hell"
Aizawa said as he walked into his classroom faced with his students in battle formation, his own quirk and agility being the only thing that kept him from being bisected by a laser or frozen to the wall.
"Attention students, the lockdown is now lifted. Have a nice day." The green haired problem child smiled sheepishly from the center of the barricade.
Of course.
A little bit more from everyone else's view as Kanae is unconscious. Thank you guys for your support and have a nice day!
