Samantha sat next to the lake, enjoying the warm sun and holding her feet into the water. It was one of the hottest days this June and the summer holidays were near.

She drew the rest of the map, the Marauders impatiently sitting behind her.

"Are you done? Can we see it?", Peter asked like a little child on a car drive.

"How long do you think this takes?", Samantha asked, annoyed because the boys kept asking if she finally finisched thr mad of Hogwarts.

"Appeteantly super long!", Peter replied, not thinking of a better come-back.

"Just let her finish it in peace", Remus said and smiled at the girl he considered to be his friend. They had spent most of the full moons together this year and even though Peter, James and Sirius were very close to turning into animals as well, she had been his saviour. He had lost all hope at a normal life and a love life but if he had a metamorphmagi or an animagi as girlfriend, maybe it wouldn't be as bad because she could help him during the full moon.

"Thank you, Wolfie", Samantha replied, making Sirius burst out in laughter. "Wolfie? That is a stupid ass nickname!"

"Think of a better one then!", Samantha snapped back at him.

"Moonhowler", Sirius said proud.

"Dude, that's even worse", Remus giggled.

"How about Moony then?", Samantha asked and everyone agreed.

"Moony it is. You know what? We could write these nicknames on the map! I mean we already know what animals we will turn into and maybe we could write nicknames on the map so everyone knows it belongs to someone but nobody suspects us - if anyone ever finds it or we give to our sons or something!", James blurted out, having to take a deep breath after.

"That is genious!", Peter sqealed and everyone cheered.

"I get to be called king!", Sirius shouted, while Samantha wrote 'Moony' onto the map.

"More like the grim!", she mumbled, but nobody heard her because they all laughed at Sirius 'the king'.

"I think that padfoot would sound cool, since you know you will turn into a dog", Peter suggested, never imagining that all of the boys would like the idea.

"Nice on Peet. Or should I say ratboy?", Sirius joked.

"Thats not very imaginative", Samantha said, drawing the 'a' of padfoot. Without her noticing, Sirius rolled his eyes at her.

"Ratstail?"

"Ha! I think his tail looks like a worm!", James shouted and Remus casually joked: "How about wormtail then?"

"No! That's weird!", Peter protested but James and Sirius just ignored him: " That is decent, don't you pout, wormtail!"

"So I get to be the king then, I even had a crown as an animal", James said, but nobody agreed.

"It's not a crown! You could poke people with that thing on your head."

"I think prongs sounds like James", Samantha suggested without looking up.

"I hate to say it but that girl is totally right. That name does fit you. Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs proudly present the Marauders Map", Sirius said and smiled into the round.

"That. Is. Genius!", James shouted, dancing wildly on front of the water. Samantha just laughed, these boys could be quite funny if they weren't busy bullying people.

After she had written everz name and that sentence on the map, she proudly gave it to Sirius.

"Thank you, princess. Now we can finally annoy your brother again", he said, smiling at her with happiness in his eyes.

Samantha instantly filled up with rage: "What the hell? You can't do that! I helped you and now you have to hold up the end of your bargen!"

"We said we would not bother Snivellus, but we didn't say until when", Peter laughed.

"Oh shut it, wormtail! Weirdly enough, I actally believed that we could be friends for a second", Samantha screamed, running away from them, with her feet in the shallow water. She didn't listen to Remus who told her to come back or to the nonsence warning that Sirius shouted about a tentacle coming out of the water when suddenly her leg was ripped from underneath her and she hung in the air for a second before being pulled underwater.

The kraken of Hogwarts, whom everyone thought was just a crazy idea, a rumour, just had her at her feet and dragged her under into the deps of the sea.

Samantha feared for her life and screamed, until she realized that her life wasn't in danger at all. She laughed and turned herself into a meermaid. It was a relief to finally breathe again.

"Hello? Please help me!", she shouted, her voice sounding weird, dulled and dark.

"What are you doing here? How did Tommy get you? He knows not to attack us!", a merman said, with three fish on his trident.

"I was just fooling around, I don't know why he grabbed me", Samantha said, hoping this mermen could help her out, otherwise she would have to turn into a bigger creature and fight against 'Tommy'.

"Oi! Tommy! I got some fish for you if you let her go!"

The kraken stopped dragging Samantha down into the depths of the lake and looked at the big merman with his green skin, hair and sharp teeth.

He seemed to think for a moment, then he grabbed the fish with another tentacle and released Samantha. Glad to be free, she swam towards the merman, who suddenly winced and quickly dropped his trident.

"Your tail! It's golden! I am so sorry I didn't recognise you, Kishiera!" He bowed before the girl, not being able to take his eyes off her tail.

"You probably came to see how your creations are doing and I hope you like what you see. We are very civilized and we help everyone as you see. It was probably a test. I hope I passed it. Would you show yourself in your true form?"

Samantha got more confused the more the merman talked, but after thinking it all through again and from reading many legends, she did understand the situation. Her, Kishiera, was in his mind the goddess of the merpeople.

"Yes, you have passed my test. I am very pleased with you and your volk. I have been watching over you and I always will, even if you don't see me. But I have to go now, carry me to the surface for me to travel to another sea where I will visit my children.", Samantha said, hoping that the Marauders would believe her story of a merman rescuing her.

"I will, Kishiera!", the merman said reverential and cautiously swam her to the surface. The closer they came, the brighter shone the golden light of her wand, hopefully making him think that golden light was her true form. When the merman had his head out of the water, Samantha said: "Thank you. Bless you!" and the merman disappeared into the green water.

"Samantha! Oh thank god! There you are!", voices shouted and the girl quickly turned back into a human, holding the light underwater in case the merman would look up again.

She was surprised to see Sirius being the one closest to her, doing to crawl to get to her. When he reached her, he shook his head to get his hair out of his face and Samantha could see actual worry in his eyes.

"Are you okay?", he asked and she smirked: "Sure. Are you telling me you care?"

"No. It was just Remus who send us all out looking for you. How did you even stay under water for so long?"

"I happen to know the head-bubble spell. And a merman rescued me", Samantha casually stated.

"No way", Sirius said and he actually didn't believe the girl. Nobody just handled the head-bubble spell that easily, especially not in a situation like that. And what was all the golden light about?

"Whatever, let's swim back to shore,I am kind of freezing out here."

"Sure. Let's."

"She was under water for like 15 Minutes if not more and she told me that she had worked the bubble-head spell but she is in her third year! I could have neve done it then. "

"Maybe she is a meermaid", Melissa suggested jokingly.

"Yes! Why not?", Sirius asked, moving a little closer to the fifth year whom he sat in front of the fire with.

"That does not explain the flying, stupid."

"Hey, relax. Don't stress yourself this much. It's just a girl", Sirius tried to calm her down, but without succeeding. Melissa freed herself from his grip and got up, walking in front of the couch she just sat on.

"She is the reason we didn't win the cup! A cheater. And I need to know how she learned to fly like this!" Melissa ran her hand through her black hair that only reached her shoulders.

"Babe, come on. Let's have some fun", Sirius said, hoping to get another kiss.

"Don't call me 'babe'. I am not", Melissa said leading to a disappointed face of Sirius.

"Well, I am done with your crap then. You are so obsessed with this girl it's weird. Have a nice life, Melissa." Sirius got up and walked up the stairs into the boys bedroom.

"You are such a girl", Melissa shouted after him, being shushed by some of the students who tried to do their homework in the Gryffindor tower.
