Chapter Two: Cross Academy
The buzzing of my alarm drove me from the mansions of rest. I softly groaned at the early hour, but soundlessly gathered my clothing to shower. I was vaguely aware of dreaming last night, but couldn't remember anything.
Moka still slept in her bed, snoring softly. Tiredly, I crept to the girl's bathroom. No one was up quite yet, so I had enough space for myself this morning. The bathroom was extensive, but not enough for the amount of room the Sun dorm girls surprisingly took up.
After my quick shower, I put my hair up in and dressed in my standard uniform. It was black with white strips outlining the stitching of the jacket with a black skirt. I pulled up the long stockings and placed my covered feet into the standard flats. I winced at the blood red ribbon that part of the uniform. I untied the horridly colored article and placed it into the small pile of clothes to take back to my room.
"Oh you're here," said a girl that walked into the bathroom. She was still in her pajamas and held a duffel full of her shower items.
"Of course I'm here, I'm the bathroom ghost," I replied softly.
She stared at me in confusion before rolling her eyes and walking by. Well if she didn't get my lowkey Harry Potter reference than it was her loss.
I didn't have many friends here. After all, I was noticeably a foreigner with my European looks and slight accent. Even more, I was the headmaster's daughter and member of the Discipline Committee. In the world, I had Moka and Yuki. Zero and I had never really connected on anything, except Yuki. I wasn't even aware if he knew about my status as a human Pureblood. He had a vendetta or somethings against us anyways, so that'd put a damper on whatever level of friendship we had.
The bell for everyone to wake up sounded as I exited the dorms. As always, I was the first one out. I suppose the vampire in me resulted in a less need for sleep, a godsent for procrastinated projects, but a curse when it came to falling asleep.
I clutched my school bag and headed to the main building before stopping in my tracks.
“Shit, I didn't do my homework.”

Classes slugged on with Yuki and Zero napping and me taking notes for all of us. We were in Biology, me easiest, but least favorite class. I paused briefly before writing down notes about the binomial nomenclature.
“Yuki,” the professor called. Yuki’s roommate whispered into her ear, resulting Yuki to jump to her feet.
“It's time to chow down!”
The class giggled while the professor sighed, “Another nap? You know between you and Zero the disciplinary committee must be quite tasking. Only Annabel seems prepared for it.”
Yuki swept away her hair from her face, “No, it's alright, I can handle it!”
“Stay after class!”
Finally, after dinner, the disciplinary committee reported to watch over the switchover.
“Annabel!” Yuki called running towards me, “Have you seen Zero? He didn't report afterclass!”
I steadied the girl, who almost ran into me, “No, Yuki. Check the stables, though.”
“Yeah,” the brunette smiled brightly, “Thanks, Annabel!”
I watched the girl run away to the stables as I gauged at the crowd for tonight's switchover. I looked towards my watch and waited for the rest of the committee to finally get their asses over here. Overall, everything was going fine.
But things don't always stay calm. During patrols I was taking the woods as Zero and Yuki teamed up together. Headmaster Kaien says my weird blood would through vampires off, lowering my risk of an attack, or at least, that's what we hope.
“Hello, Love.”
I sighed as I turned to face the annoying blonde, who had his cousin with him. My hand went to knives, “Aido, Akatsuki, it's against school policy to be on school grounds during class time.”
“Ah, yes. Aren't you a stickler for the rules,” Aido teased while walking forward, “I actually find that kinda attractive in a girl, it's cute.”
I glared at the vampire, “I'm sick of you hitting on me, it won't get you anywhere.”
“I'm afraid we're not out here for you, Love, but for another delectable smell. Although, no offense, your blood smells different than anyone I've ever met,” the blonde spoke dramatically, as usual, before stepping away with his cousin.
It took me a moment to get my bearing. What was he talking About? But then it hit me, Yuki. My knives came out of their hiding place as I raced towards where Yuki would be on her rounds. I could faintly smell the scent of blood, before hearing a gunshot as I entered the scene.
“Goddammit, I'm late to the scene,” I said just as Kaname appeared.
“Would you please put that away, I'm afraid that it's rather threatening my name to us,” Kaname spoke as he made his way to Yuki.
“Kaname I-,” Yuki stammered.
“I’ll escorts these fools to the headmaster's myself to see there punishment,” Kaname added while grabbing Aido, “Zero, is that alright?”
Yeah, those two really didn't like each other. I made my way to the little circle forming.
“Just get them out of here, Kaname,” Zero spoke in annoyance.
“Akatsuki, because you did nothing to stop Aido, you are guilty too,” Kaname addressed the tall redhead, “The two day class stude by some will have their memory erased as well.”
I ignored their insignificant chat and went to address the day time class as a vampire, Seirin or something, was erasing their memories. One of the girl's had a wound, so I took out a small first aid kit and cleansed the wound before placing a tan bandage on the area. When I looked over, Zero and Yuki had left.
“Kaname,” I spoke getting to my feet. The Pureblood looked at me, an unspoken level of equality in his eyes. “Aido hit on me, I believe I should do just the same.”
His eyes showed a hint of laughter, but he just stepped away. Aido looked really confused as I prepped my hand and threw a punch at his face. Aido tumbled to the ground and I nodded towards Kaname as I walked away.
