Despair

Y/N was at the bathroom looking at herself in the mirror. Her h/c hair was messy and her face looked like someone who had been asleep for 100 years. "What am I gonna do now?" Y/N thought to herself. She looked at her hands. They were pale and dry. She washed her hands with the soap beside her. The water from the sink pouring down sounds really nice and cool. It could make her go to sleep. Though she can't sleep. Thinking about yesterday made her depressed and stressed. She just wanted to die like a dog but she can't. She still have a daughter who was alive but sick and a man that seemed to care for her really much. "No, I must stay alive." she thought. Then, she exited the bathroom and went back to the room Iris was in.

When she returned to the room, Atsushi wasn't there. He left a note on the chair. It said "Sorry, I have to solve a case that had to be done. I'll see you around." It kinda made Y/N felt lonely but she had to endure it. After all, he had a life and a job too. She saw Iris who was already woken up from the deep sleep. "Iris! You are awakened!" cried Y/N. "Mom, where are we?" asked Iris yawning. "At the hospital, sweetie. You vomited blood last night and then Yuna dialed the ambulance. After that, you were asleep till this morning." said Y/N. "What about you're friend, mom? What happened to him?" asked Iris. "He's just fine." Y/N said. Then, the doctor came in and asked Y/N that he wants to talk to him privately outside the room. Y/N reluctantly agreed. She had a feeling something was going wrong.

They went out of the room. The doctor looked devastated which meant the news was no good. "Miss, I have horrible news for you." said the doctor. Y/N knew where this was going. "You're daughter have stage 4 stomach cancer." he said. Although Y/N knew what was gonna happen, she was still shocked and devastated. She looked down and asked "How long is she gonna live?" asked Y/N. "1 year. If there's luck, it would be 5 years." the doctor said. "Is there anything you could do?" asked Y/N asked frowning. "We could buy time by giving her chemotherapy and some medication." he said. "How much would it cost?" asked Y/N who was trying to hold back the tears. "One round will cost around $100 000 or more." he said. "I let the health insurance cover it. Hopefully they will." said Y/N. The doctor just nodded.

Y/N went back into the room. She saw Iris eating a meal that was provided by the hospital. She looked so happy eating that meal. "Mom? Why are you sad?" asked Iris looking at Y/N who was crying a little. Y/N wiped her tears and said "Nothing dear, I just got something on my eye." She smiled while wiping of her tears with her sleeve.

"When am I gonna leave the hospital, mom?" asked Iris. "I don't know. Maybe sooner or later." Y/N said. "I am sorry. I gotta go to the bathroom for a moment." Y/N said walking away while crying. Iris was completely clueless.
