well...
dang...there's some really dark fanart for Mikey...
I mean...
Come on...
Mikey?...
But why?...
Seriously...him becoming evil...him joining the Shredder...killing his brothers...having to live with their death...
I think it hurts even more since Mikey's the most loyal in the group. Even when the guys don't believe him (happened A LOT of times -_-) he still saves them. He doesn't care what they do since they're his brothers. Him killing them is just...dang...
This fanart's really affecting if you're a tmnt 2012 fan. It hits u knowing how MIKEY turns into this. He's the funniest the sweetest and has the most compassion. He's just this lovable goofball and him becoming dark...it just feels sad.
I've never been this sad about fanart before. Even though I ALWAYS see dark fanart for the comic reliefs I've never been this sad for any of them.
Maybe it's cause Mikey shows to have those feelings. He shows that he's scared at times and how much he loves his brothers. He shows his anger and frustration. He shows his sadness. Even though he's mostly funny and carefree, he can still be serious. Knowing that the emotion for sadness, anger, regret, and fear are actually IN him makes these seem more realistic. Like it could actually happen.
It also kinda makes Mikey realistic. Sure he's an idiot at times and he's clumsy here and there but he can also be smarter than the rest and he fights better than all of them. And I'm only up to Season two! Sure he's happy-go-lucky most of the time but he still gets upset and afraid of a lot of things.
And in that clip I saw when Mikey gets stabbed you can see the anger he has before it. You can see the fear after it. It just makes the emotions much better.
And THIS, my friends, is how you make an optimistic character seem real. You show their emotions.
