So I always see artists ranting about how they get called selfish and stuff for not doing free art for someone

I agree with them STRONGLY even though I'm not an artist who does it for money. I'm just a girl who likes to draw for fun

So the thing is if there's an artist you like that has commissions and doesn't really take requests unless you pay them since it's kinda their job, do NOT ask for free art. EVER. 

The thing is art takes time. So when you pay an artist, you're not only paying for the art, but also for the hard work, time wasted, and pain and suffering. If the artist needs the money from the commissions, doing a free art request will be wasting their time and it doesn't benefit them AT ALL

I do art as a hobby. That's why if you have a request, I'll try my best to do it. But remember it takes me a long time to make it and what do I gain from it? Nothing :) But I still do it since I'm the type of artist that doesn't do art for money but I would appreciate if you do ask for a request that you BE PATIENT cuz it'll take me a million years to make it seem gud xdddd

But when you ask an artist that does art for a living for a free drawing, it's like going into McDonalds (yea dat creepy clown place dat nu one talkz bout anymoar) and telling them to give you free food just cuz u support them. 

I know peeps do art and some peeps can't do art that's beyond the level of beginner. Not really BAD art just beginner level. Everyone starts at one point xddd buh like if it takes you a long time to draw art that's beginner level, think of how much longer it takes an artist to do levels of art higher than you. Just becuz an artist is good doesn't mean that they are fast. In fact it most likely means that they are slower. 

So just know that don't ask an artist that does art for a living to give you free art and say they're mean when they reject. If you didn't know and they said they don't do requests, just apologize and compliment their art and take your leave. They WILL appreciate someone that has common sense and decency
