This Definitely Isn't a Date

Lydia waited patiently at the Café, watching the clock as the seconds ticked by. She knew Tyson was probably going to be late, he told her himself. However, it was already half past the hour and she was about to call quits.

The door opened and a fairly boy with dark, messy hair sat down across from her. "Hey."

"Hi Tyson. Have everything you need?"

"Yeah, I do. Sorry I'm, you know, late."

"It's fine. Let's just get to work, shall we?"

Tyson grinned and rooted through his backpack for his homework papers and book. Lydia watched with a small smile. He was rather cute when he smiled like that.

They chatted in between problems. She learned he was related to The Flash. He learned how to read topography maps. She learned that he had Barry Allen's powers. He learned where Spain was(it's not in South America for those who are wondering). She learned that he hated geography. So most of the talk was actually him trying to impress her while she taught him.

The Café was closing up, so the two decided their session was finished and walked back to the school. The two felt closer now than before, which Tyson was happy about, and so was Lydia. She wasn't going to lie, she liked him. She had a crush on him.

"Would you like to go out for coffee sometime?" She asked him when they made it to the dorms.

"Would I—yes! I mean, yeah. It would be helpful to solidify some terms—"

"That's not what I meant." She told him. "I meant, would you like to go out for coffee, as in, for not learning about geography."

"As in a...date?"

"Well if you want to put it that way, sure."

"I didn't think that would happen so...quickly. I expected, like, at least five tutoring sessions before I even thought about finally asking you out."

"Screw what's to fast, or to slow. We are born to live. So let's live. What do you say?"

"Yeah. Let's live. 5:30 tomorrow?"

"Works for me." She turned towards the hall that lead to the girls' dorms, then looked back at him. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

She nodded and continued to walk to her dorm, while he sped off to his. Both were grinning. Both were excited for tomorrow. She learned that spontaneous plans could be fun. He learned to live in the now. They learned that a text message could ripple into a date.
