Scene 3;

'Go to Sleep', Jeff the Killer's last words to a victim. Diana faced him, remembering all the stories on the television. As soon as he shifted, Diana reached behind her for the drawer with the knives. "Why are you doing this? What did I do?! What did the people at school do to you..?" Her tone decreased, as she placed her hand in and grabbed the first thing it could reach.

"Doing so is pointless," Jeff snickered, "do you really think you can take me down with that excuse of a weapon?" Diana felt a shiver make its way up her spine. "W-Why not?" The male's expression neutralised, "do you really want to find out?" She shook her head and closed the drawer slowly.

"Fantastic," his smile evident the more he grinned. Why is he here? Why do the stupidest things happen to me? "Why are you stalling? Y-You could've killed me long ago!" Diana then clenched her fists, "what do you want?"

"I told you what I want," Jeff twirled his knife between his fingers. "It's only a matter of time until you give your answer."

"What do you mean 'my answer'? Go ahead, kill me. There's no need for an answer is that answer doesn't make a difference."

"So you're accepting death? How boring~" He sang in a somewhat raspy voice. "Is that really what you want, Diana Creeon? To leave your dear mother alone, and to make the friend you just made blame herself? Alice, was it?" The girl's face stared in horror, "how do you know Alice-?"

"I know each and every little thing about you."

"Then you'd know whether I'd like to live or die, Jeff the Killer." He smirked, "please, just Jeff is fine." What was she doing? Having a conversation with a serial killer? This isn't real- it can't be real.

All because she left her phone in her room. She never would've guessed he would show up now. How cliche, Diana thought to herself, I'd always make fun of characters in horror movies for a dumb move like this, but... She couldn't take her eyes off of the killer, it's not as easy as it looks. To make a smart decision when you're in a stupid situation.

"I'm willing to make an offer though," the male hysterically laughed, "of course, you'd have to be willing to hear it." Diana didn't think twice, "I'd have to do something i-in order to live?"

"Mhm," he hopped off the table and landed perfectly. The 15 year old took a step back, bumping into the counter behind her. "S-Stay back... otherwise I won't accept your offer." Jeff got uncomfortably close to Diana, making her shut her eyes tightly. "There, there," she felt his breath close, making her tremble. "No need to be afraid-"

"I have every right to be afraid-"

"Do you really?" He smirked, tracing the knife on top of the bandage that covered her cut. She didn't move an inch, "I-I'll listen..."

"Good," the psycho backed away, lightening his tone the slightest. "I don't care if you accepted it or not," he shrugged, "I could've easily killed you then and there yesterday."

"Then why didn't you?" Jeff's eyes trailed back to Diana's stern ones. "This world is up to no good. The people who prevent that from happening," he pointed the knife at her, "should die." Diana raised an eyebrow, sighing. "I don't get what you mean at all."

"Who does?" He questioned, running his hands through his hair in an insane manner. Speaking of which, his hoodie doesn't have blood on it anymore... Does he change it to avoid the attention? "I'll do as you ask."

This way, mother doesn't have to grieve over my death. "I couldn't be happier~ That was the smarter decision, Ms. Creeon." Jeff started by stretching his arms, "I'm trying to look for someone." Diana's ears perked upwards, "and that requires my help why..? If you found me and gathered information in such a small amount of time, finding a mere human being shouldn't take that long-"

"That's it- She's inhumane!"

"Pardon me..?"

"Never mind the details," he beckoned, "it seems she has sided with the United Forces, the police."

"So she's a good guy?" Diana mumbled, thank god. "Good is a million miles from it! She just wants to see me suffer- find any way to catch me."

"So why join the United Forces?"

"Wider search range; she's truly a work of art." He says, eyes softening only if the were recognisable. "It seems like you guys are on good terms- if she wants her revenge and wants to kill you herself, why arrest you? It doesn't make sense." Diana took a bite from her now cold oatmeal, leaning against the kitchen counter. "Not everything makes sense, Ms. Creeon. She has the police out to get me now. She made me a wanted criminal." The 10th grader furrowed her eyebrows, "you were always wanted... You kill, remember?"

"Not everyone. I've been framed for quite the few."

"So that's the reason she sided with the enemy! Erm, I mean, if there was more of an enemy..." Diana murmured, finishing up the last of her breakfast. "So, why do you need help? Especially from a high school student like myself..."

"Easy," Jeff threw and caught his knife multiple times, "you have good contact with Nick, I suppose? He wants me as dead as she does."

"Why? What'd you do this time?"

"I killed his wife." The male stated bluntly, making Diana's jaw drop, "good. In what means necessary did you kill his wife for? The grief was probably too much for him!"

"Mrs. Roland was selling drugs illegally."

"Still- she was no less than any innocent being!"

"No one is innocent," Jeff smiled, "but someone happened to change my mind a few days ago." Jeff said the last part a little low. Diana exhaled, placing her bowl and spoon into the sink. "I'm not surprised Agent Nick is after you."

"You should be."

"Why is that?"

"I killed her, yeah, but that was my early days. I wasn't a known killer. I shouldn't have been identified at the drop of a hat. This means someone either witnesses the killing, or assumed I had done it." Diana's eyes widened as she placed her hand on her chin, "and the only person who would do that is...-" Jeff snapped his fingers, "correct."

"You're telling me that this mystery women has been hunting you down for a couple of years?" The male nodded, "and it was only recently she started working with the police?"

"Not exactly working with them directly. It seems there's a parasite getting a criminal in and out with their every beck and call."

"So like- getting information back and forth?" Diana tilted her head. Jeff nodded. "So what exactly do I need to do? It's not like I have any money or power."

"All I need you to do is lead Nick off. Whatever information he puts in eventually reaches her." Diana hesitated. What was she going to do? Lie to everyone around her? This Jeff guy doesn't seem that awful- but she still can't trust the likes of him.

Teaming up with him means the safety of her mother and her closest friends. But was that really the best option? Even she doesn't know if she will regret this decision. "I'll do it..."

"What was that?" Jeff asked, putting a hand to his ear, "say that once more."

"I'll lie to Agent Nick..." She spoke, nervous to what the killer may say next. Jeff grinned an ear to ear grin, not speaking a word. "I-Is that all you want?"

"Doesn't matter if it is. Now that you agreed," he walked towards her, "you're under my rules, my commands. And I expect you to do all of it without hesitation, Ms. Creeon." Diana felt her blood run cold, "y-yeah." He backed away, giving a thumbs up, "until the next time we meet."

"What-?"

"I'll be back to update you on anything new," he opened the kitchen window, "goodbye now." Jeff then disappeared, leaving Diana in awe. "Bye... then." Did I really just have a full conversation? With Jeff the Killer?

Did I really agree to help him? A serial killer? A wanted man? And while he was in my house? Not to mention- how did he even get into the house without my notice?

Diana sighed, groggily rubbing her eyes and yawning. "I'm so done for today..." She made her way up the stairs and felt a slight breeze on her face. What the hell? The 15 year old then slowly approached the wind.

Only then she realised that her mom's room's window's lock had been broken off. Diana gazed at the open window. "Argh- how am I supposed to explain this to my mom, Jeff?!" She ruined her hair, closing the blinds. Maybe that way, it'll take her mother a while to realize what had gone wrong with her room.

Diana made her way back to her own room, sitting down on her bed. She grabbed her phone almost immediately, staring at the small note a specific detective had left her behind. "Is this really the right thing to do..?" The high schooler asked herself. She then hugged her knees, "after all his hard work, is lying to him the best option?"

Diana, think, she clenched the fabric of her black sweatpants. Your mother and friends' lives are on the line, her breath hitched, you can't make a mistake. Diana let go. Not just of her knees but also of her feelings. I have to lie to Agent Nick.
