Possessed

Well I am back with another horror story after watching conjuring 2. Hope you guys like it.

Background story : Elsa is dealing with depression after her parents death so the other four decide to change her surroundings so they go to live in Merida's family's farm house for the summer.

" Mom I am fine!!" Merida shouted inthe phone, annoyed by her mother's constant pestering.

"Merida you're in a house, surrounded by woods, all alone. Of course I am going to be worried" Eleanor reasoned.

"Atleast you should have brought one of your friend with you, Repunzal or Hiccup" she added and Merida rolled her eyes.

"Mum, they offered to come with me but I declined because I wanna explore this place by myself. If Punz or Hiccup would come, they would be constantly nagging me to don't go there, dont touch that" she replied.

"That's exact reason I wanted them to be with you, your grandmother's farmhouse is a very old place. Even Maudie had a hard time cleaning it, it is completely falling apart. Watch out for the stairs and floor boards and no one goes above the first floor" Eleanor warned and Merida nodded.

She had to admit, there had been a few problems when she reached as well.

"And they say it is h-"

"Goodnight Mum!!" Merida shouted before ending the call, she and her mother could argue for days but right now she was too tired to fight back.

In two days her friends are gonna arrive. The four friends were really worried for Elsa, she had fallen into deep depression after her parents death. Her sister Anna recovered more quickly since she lived in boarding school and hardly saw her parents but Elsa was very close to them. She even once tried to kill herself but luckily Repunzal's mother saved her on time.

Currently she was living with Repunzal, Anna was spending her holidays at her friend Mavis's house.

The four researched on how to help their friend and then someone told them to change her environment, so they decided to bring her to the peaceful country side.

Merida's parents had been very supportive, they fixed up the old house the best as they could and made sure that it was comfortable enough for the five young adults.

"Nope, nope nope no" Merida muttered under her breath as she switched channels.

Bzzzzzzzzzz

Her phone started vibrating, Merida picked up the phone and was surprised that Jack was calling her.

"Hi Jack" she answered.

"Hi Mer, glad to know your awake. I have already Hiccup and Repunzal and both were sleeping" he replied sounding relieved.

Merida checked the clock.

"Ofcourse they both are asleep idiot, it's freaking 1:30." She replied and Jack took a sharp breath.

"I know it's just I was having nightmares and I needed someone to talk to" he admitted.

Merida was surprised by Jack's surrender, usually he would say something sharp In return.

"What was the nightmare about?" Merida asked, her curiosity growing.

There was a silence for a moment and then Merida heard Jack take a deep breath.

"I saw a woman, dressed like a nun. She was pale white and had bulging black holes as eyes, even her lips were black. That thing was chasing Elsa and you were trying to stop that it but she was constantly slamming you in walls and hurting you and I was frozen still. I could even hear distant shouts of Hiccup and Repunzal. It was so vivid and horrible. Her image is engraved in my mind" Jack shuddered.

Merida took a deep breath, she didn't know how to reply.

"Jack it was just a nightmare, nothing to worry about. We all are safe and sound" she reassured, but in reality she was feeling creeped out by what her friend had just described.

"Emma has come in my room, bye" Jack replied and Merida hung up.

She glanced one time at the dark staircase leading to her room and decided to spend the night onthe couch.

Next morning

Merida hummed as she cut vegetables for her meal, tommorow her friends were arriving and she felt relieved that she won't be alone inthis huge house.

"The famous Chinese athlete Mulan Shang is now retiring, it seemed like tommorow that she broke the barrier-"

Merida stopped dead in her tracks, she remembered perfectly that tv was off.

With heavy steps she walked inthe living room, the tv was indeed on.

"She says that her daughter will now take her place an-"

Merida closed the tv and turned back to the kitchen but something made her freeze again.

" Then I say, come with me, come with me, deep inthe sea, deep inthe sea. Where there will be just you and me"

Merida was about to have a heart attack, where the hell was the song was playing. She recognized it immediately, it was her mother's favourite song but Merida always found the tune and lyrics a little creepy.

But the creepiest fact right now was that the sound was coming from inside the house. A bit muffled but still clear enough to make out the lyrics.

Curiosity got the better of her, as she slowly followed the sound. She stopped inthe library infront of a bookshelf. Confused she stood for a moment trying to figure out where the sound was coming from.

"Its coming from behind the freaking bookshelf" she finally declared, as she leaned against the bookshelf to hear the sound.

"Aagh!!" She groaned as she started pushing the bookshelf,

Drumbh!!!!

The bookshelf fell onthe ground with a terrible bang.

"And the whispers of the dark, dark dark"

The sound was crystal clear now, Merida's heart was beating rapidly against her chest. For a moment she stood there, unsure what to do. She was staring at the black door which was hidden by the bookshelf few moments ago.

The sound was luring her towards it and her curiosity was killing her. She took a deep breath, slowly she placed her hand onthe door's handle and pushed it.

Creak!!!

She winced at the sound, the door made. Her fear had gotten the better of her. She closed her eyes as she stepped inside the room.

"Will you remember me?, remember me b-"

The song suddenly stopped, making Merida jump. Merida tried her best to find the source of the sound inthe darkness but who knew something else was in stored for her.

Next morning

Merida yawned, as she washed her face. Last night she could hardly sleep. Good thing her friends are coming this morning. After they come, she was gonna sleep three days straight.

"Merida!!" Repunzal cheered hugging her friend tightly.

"Punzie can't breath" Merida choked and Repunzal let go.

"Oops sorry" she giggled apologetically.

"Put all the luggage inthe living room" Merida smiled as Repunzal picked up her two pink suitcases.

"Hey Elsa how are you?" Merida greeted softly and Elsa gave a small smile.

It looked like all the life had been sucked out of her. Merida felt bad for her friend. After all she couldn't imagine life without her parents.

"We are here for you, never forget that" Merida whispered as she gently hugged her friend and Elsa sniffed back a few tears.

"Thanks Mer, you guys are the best" she whispered back.

"By the way.." Elsa started with a mischievous smirk, "someone was really anxious to reunite with you"

Merida rolled her eyes, trying her best to hold back a blush but remained unsuccessful.

"Ooh, lookey Elsa. Someone's blushing hard. I told you something was going on between these two" Repunzal said poking her friend's crimson cheek.

"Guess you were right Punz" Elsa smirked.

"Ahh you two!!, I am going out!." Merida said trying her best to act angry.

"Ofcourse, she wants to be with him too!!" Repunzal teased.

AN: incase your confused,. Repunzal, Elsa and Merida are inside the house. Jack and Hiccup are outside taking some stuff out of the car.

Merida ignored Repunzal's comment and started walking towards the car, where Jack and Hiccup were unloading stuff.

She passed Jack, who was carrying some heavy boxes to the house.

He was too busy struggling with the heavy boxes to notice her and her red face.

She finally reached Hiccup, who's back was facing her.

"Need any help?" She asked Hiccup,. Hiccup jumped a little by the sudden sound but turned around and greeted Merida with a big grin on his face.

"Mer," was all he managed to say before dropping the box which contained Repunzal's crockery on his foot.

"Ow, ow" he whined hopping on one foot as Merida picked the box from the ground.

"Lucky for you, nothing is broken. Or else Punz would have killed you" Merida said inspecting the box.

"True that" Hiccup said sitting onthe grass.

"So how were your two days of freedom?" Hiccup inquired, sitting more straight.

Merida paused, should she tell him?. He would just get worried, her other side protested and Merida agreed. There was no need to tell Hiccup.

"Good, I really enjoyed exploring alone. I don't know why but I feel a deep connection with the wilderness" Merida replied and Hiccup nodded slowly picking up her right hand.

"That's because you have a wild spirit, you are free as the wind. And that's the trait I love most about you. Your wind like spirit helps me lift off the ground and lets me fly high above the clouds" Hiccup replied as he slowly entwined his slight tanned finger with her pale ones.

"See a perfect fit" he cheered holding up their entwined fingers, and Merida giggled as blush spread on her face.

"You know, they have an idea about us" Merida said leaning against him.

"Well good, more easier for us to explain later on" he concluded.

"As far as I know, the plates aren't going to walk to the kitchen by themselves. SO GET BACK TO WORK!!!" Jack shouted behind causing them to jump.

Hiccup rolled his eyes playfully before picking up the box and heading inside.

"You really can't stand not annoying us for five minutes Frost" Merida grumbled.

"Hey that's my job, besides you don't have the right to be all lovey dovey till I ask Elsa out" Jack said handing the second last box to Merida.

"Speaking of Elsa, how is she doing?" Merida asked as they both started walking to the house.

"Good, she's improving. She was even having a good time inthe car. We wanted to stop at a few places but Hiccup wasn't taking it. He was like 'Just keep driving!!, just keep driving, driving, driving' only in a more aggressive tone" Jack explained

"Seriously how long has this all been going?" Jack asked as they stopped walking.

"Ummm" Merida stalled purposely, she knew how much that irritated Jack.

" Spit it out" Jack said getting impatient.

"Two months, we were about to tell you guys after a month but then the tragedy happened and then there was never a good time" Merida explained.

"Well i am happy for you two, and finally!!. We have been waiting for this day for forever and I would hug you but the boxes are making that a little hard" Jack joked.

They resumed walking in silence until Merida asked him the question she was dying to ask him.

"Jack?"

"Hmmm"

"Did you ever had that nightmare again?" Merida questioned.

Jack was caught of guard by that question, " Actually yes, I just had it last night but this time it was a little different. It showed Elsa unconscious on a chair with that woman standing behind and the rest is all fuzzy" he shuddered.

"Well then I have something to show you"

"Huh?" He asked confused, Merida opened her mouth to explain

"Guys quickly come inside!!, the sandwiches are ready" Repunzal shouted from the doorway.

"Later" Merida said and Jack nodded.

"What took you guys so long?" Hiccup asked as he took the box from Merida.

"Oh we were just planning" Merida said with devious grin.

"No no no, no more pranks!!" Repunzal said shaking her head and Jack grinned.

"We don't promise anything" Jack grinned causing Hiccup and Repunzal to groan.

"We are here for some peace. PEACE. So I would like you two to stick to that plan" Hiccup scolded and the two rolled their eyes.

"Yes dad" Jack said sarcastically walking to the kitchen, where Elsa was.

Repunzal satisfied also walked to the kitchen, to help Elsa and to stop Jack from creating a mess.

"You are serious about the no prank thing right?" Hiccup asked Merida who was searching for something onthe couch.

"Uh huh, besides we weren't talking about pranks" Merida replied honestly.

"Then what were you talking about?" Hiccup asked getting more curious and slightly jealous.

"Just some Merida-Jack stuff" she replied with a amused grin.

"So it's a secert and you can't tell me" Hiccup concluded, crossing his arms.

"Not exactly a secert but you won't get it" She explained, her grin growing wider seeing Hiccup's annoyed face.

"If you two lovebirds are done talking, you can join us now!!" Jack shouted from the kitchen, followed by Repunzal and Elsa's giggles.

"I was just messing with ya, we were just talking about how I tricked Jack to propose to our teacher in third grade" Merida replied and Hiccup shook his head.

"You two will be surely be the death of me" Hiccup commented shaking his head, a grin spreading.

"Sure" she grinned giving him a quick kiss onthe cheek and then she joined the others inthe kitchen.

Hiccup just stood there stunned, holding his cheek.

"Hiccup, there is nothing left to eat!!" Jack shouted again waking Hiccup from his thoughts.

"Coming" he shouted.

Later that evening

"Guys if you don't mind, I will head to bed now with a book" Elsa said standing up and yawning.

Sleeping too much was one of the signs of depression.

"Sure Elsa, it has been a long trip" Punzie said giving her a small smile and the rest nodded.

Elsa returned the smile "Goodnight. See you tommorow" she replied and disappeared upstairs.

The rest turned their attention back to the tv, as Hiccup changed the channel.

Few hours later

"I think you two, should get some sleep" Rapunzal suggested as she slightly yawned.

"Sure just wait till the movie ends" Merida replied not taking her eyes off the screen.

"Ok goodnight then" she said heading upstairs.

The two carefully listened, as the sound finally disappeared.

Merida immediately closed the tv and grabbed the torch.

She and Jack made their way to the black door, "Ok, just don't be too scared" she warned him.

As she clicked her torch open and shown it onthe painting.

"Does this ring any bell?" Merida asked as Jack gasped horrified recognizing the painting.

Before he could reply, they heard a scream. A really loud and terrible one.
It belonged non other to Elsa.

They raced out of the room, upstairs where Hiccup was standing at the doorway worried.

Rapunzal was hugging Elsa, who was crying and shivering.

A lump formed in Merida's throat seeing her friend like this. Jack walked in helping Rapunzal in comforting Elsa.

Merida just stood at the doorway beside Hiccup, putting peices together in her mind.

Hiccup wrapped an arm around her in comfort, and she rested her head against his chest as she stared hopelessly at her friend.

And this was just the first day.

The Next Morning.

Merida put her plate inthe sink, as Rapunzal washed the dishes humming her favorite song. Despite everything happening in her life. Rapunzal found a way to stay positive.

Merida poured hot coffee in a mug, as she headed out.

Elsa was sitting there on one of the wooden benches inthe huge backyard. As she watched Hiccup playing with Toothless and Jack annoying Hiccup about somethings.

Merida handed the coffee mug to Elsa and sat beside her.

"I am so lucky to have you guys as friends" Elsa commented.

"Sometimes I feel so worthless. So useless. I feel like a waste of space and then...I think about you guys. How important you guys make me feel. The feeling glows my heart and warms it. Thank you so much" Elsa whispered a single tear falling.

"Elsa. You are important to us. Never feel useless and please don't try to harm yourself" Merida replied.

"I will try although I have been having the most terrible nightmares. I don't wanna tell Punzie because she would freak out. In my nightmares someone is constantly chasing me, trying to grab me with their long white arms." Elsa shuddered.

"Did you ever happen to see its face?"Merida asked worried.

Elsa shook her head, "No but I hear her voice, it's dark and raspy and every day the pair of hands seems to get closer and closer. Like as if onetime it will finally grab me" Elsa whispered horrified as Merida's eyes became larger and larger.
