"Wow!!" Hiccup breathed as he saw the ancient castle infront of him.

"Wow, it is. The castle of Dunbroch, no words to describe it's beauty" Gobber said.

"It's a shame that someone wants to tear it down" Astrid said stepping beside him.

"But we have the contract to make one of the world's largest hotel here!!. So who cares!" Snotlout cheered and everyone shot him a glare.

"This castle belonged to King Fergus, the Bear King. His daughter rebelled against the bethrotal and then later convinced the clans that marriage wasn't necessary to keep the treaty between the clans. In some legends it is even written that she turned her mother into a bear but later changed her back" Fishlegs read aloud.

"Well she was rebellious" Astrid commented.

"That's not the only rebellious thing she did, she fell in love with a Viking. It took alot of time but she finally convinced her parents to accept the Viking and vice versa. At the night of their engagement ball, the three clans who were angry by this act. Attacked the castle and killed everyone in it. After that the castle was never used" Fishlegs continued.

Inside the castle, a fimilair red head walked down the grand staircase which led her to the ballroom. Touching the railing of the stairs lightly, she sang painfully.

Merida sang as suddenly the carving of the poeple onthe walls came alive. The poeple dancing in pairs slowly made their way to the dance floor and continued dancing.

The bag pipes and fimilair music started ringing in her ears as she saw her mother and Maudie slowly coming towards her. She bowed down to her mother, who placed her crown on her head and Maudie placed the necklace on her neck, the one with the three bears.

She said singing in a higher pitch as she took Hamish's hand and they started dancing swiftly to the music.

She danced faster as the music fastened as well and another partner change, now she was dancing with her brother Harris.

The music continued as she now danced with her father slowly, slowly and slowly till the music stopped and they stopped dancing as well, A tall figure approached them. His forest green eyes fixed on her as he lightly bows to her father before taking Merida's hand.

Their fingers entwine and he places his other hand on her waist as they take place inthe middle and resume dancing.

Faraway, Long ago!!

They stood there inthe middle of crowd, everyone's attention on them.

The music stops, they both are breathing heavily. She slowly reaches out to touch his face carefully and as she touches his cheek, he disappears into dust and Merida slowly crumples onthe ground.

And a song someone sings, once upon a Dec-em-ber.

She finnishes painfully, as tears threatened to fall from her eyes. Everything is gone. She is again alone inthis empty ballroom.

Back with Hiccup/ Harry

"So we can explore it,?" Hiccup asked.

"Ofcourse you can explore it, we got two weeks time anything we want to keep for the hotel can stay. Any nice paintings of the royals could be good decorations" Gobber said and Hiccup turned to the rest of the gang.

"So what do you say gang?, wanna explore?" Hiccup asked and they shared disapproving looks among eachother. Hiccup's face fell.

"Harry the castle is great and all but we have been to tons of old buildings so we all know what's going to be inside it besides Scotland is such a beautiful place. There are so many lakes and mountains to discover and I really want to see the firefalls." Astrid replied.

"Oh and I want to see the stonehenge" Fishlegs added.

"Fine guys I get the idea, you guys go. I will meet you guys later" Hiccup grinned and Toothless jumped on his shoulder.

"Come on bud, just you and me" Hiccup said patting his cat's head and heading inside.

"Wow, this place is so magnificent from inside and kinda fimilair as well" he muttered and Toothless nodded as their steps echoed inthe empty hallways.

"Can you imagine, that once this place was filled with life" he said glancing at the walls

Suddenly a shadow passed him, "wha-t?" Hiccup asked confused turning around.

Toothless hissed.

"Toothless something is there" Hiccup said running to a hallway till he spots the figure going inside a dining room.

Hiccup runs inside but no one was there,
"Wait you don't think, this place is haunted" Hiccup questioned looking around.

"Boo!!" Someone shouted behind him.

Hiccup who was standing near a window, startled and hit his head against the window with a bang! and then everything went dark.

"Please wake up!, oh god I think I killed him. Now I am definitely not going to heaven" he heard a girl's voice.

He slowly opened his eyes, after a moment he got his vision back and he saw a girl kneeling next to him. She had bright red hair.

"Oh thank goodness your awake. I thought I killed you" she sighed in relief.

Before Hiccup could reply, Toothless jumped on him.

"Missed you too bud" he said patting his head and then turned his attention back to the girl.

"Who are you?" He asked the girl who had stood up and now was leaving.

The girl got surprised by his approach and stayed quite for a moment as if still in shock.

"I asked who are you" Hiccup repeated with a hint of impatience.

"Wait you can see me?" The girl asked.

"Well yeah, in case you haven't noticed I am not blind".

"Well incase you haven't noticed, I am ghost" Merida snapped and Hiccup laughed mockingly.

"If your a ghost, I am a dragon trainer" Hiccup mocked and Merida shook her head angrily.

"You don't believe me?" She asked angrily.

"Not one bit" Hiccup replied.

"Well th-" Merida was cut off by Astrid.

"There you are Harry! , we have been looking for you everywhere" Astrid/Amy called standing onthe doorway. Her blue and yellow bird, Stromfly flying next to her.

"Sorry I just ran into a intruder," Hiccup said glaring at Merida and she stuck her tongue out at him.

"Look at her, saying she is a ghost" Hiccup said pointing to the figure, who was standing there arms crossed.

Astrid/Amy looked confused at where Hiccup/Harry pointed.

"Harry, there is no one there" Amy stated and it was Hiccup's turn to be confused.

"But- but" he stuttered glancing at Merida who smirked evilly at him.

"I think I am seeing things, must be my crazy imagination" Hiccup grinned.

"Oh ok, by the way we are waiting for you downstairs, we are having a meeting with Mr Stewart" Astrid informed going down stairs.

Hiccup turned back to Merida in disbelief,
" You are not a part of my crazy imagination are you?" He asked.

"Yep" Merida grinned, "I am a real life ghost," she said and disappeared in thin air causing Hiccup to fall back in shock.

He turned back to Toothless, whose fur was standing in fright.

"What have we gotten into bud"

Ok weird plot I know, Hiccup's name is Harry, Astrid name is Amy, Ruffnut is called Ruby, Tuffnut is Turner, Snotlout is Smith, Fishlegs is Fred and Gobber is Gary. Hiccup Astrid friends.

With Mr Stewart

Hiccup ran outside, to see his group and Mr Stewart the owner of the future of the hotel.

"Hello Mr Haddock, I was hoping to have a small talk with you. Since I will be gone for a month, Another project of mine" Mr Stewart chuckled proudly.

"You have another two weeks with this junk, take your time and decide what you wanna keep. Your father had great talent, I expect the same from you" Mr Stewart said smiling.

"I will try my best sir" Hiccup replied smiling slightly, till he spotted the fimilair redhead leisurely walking out of the castle. With the knowledge that she was indeed a spirit, Hiccup turned pale.

She started walking towards them and Toothless slightly hissed.

"I would really appreciate, If you could figure out a way to use the stones after this nonsense is destroyed. I don't really like to waste material" Mr Stewart said and Hiccup saw Merida who standing behind Mr Stewart turn red with anger.

"Harry are you ok, my boy. You seem a bit distracted"Mr Stewart asked causing Hiccup snap back in reality.

"Yeah- just thinking about what can we do with the stones" Hiccup replied slightly glancing at Merida, who looked deep in thought herself.

Mr Stewart patted him onthe back, " I love you already!!" He said smiling widely and Hiccup gave him a uneasy smile.

"Well then I want the royals bedroom which are the biggest turned into beautiful suite fit for the important poeple and not to mention the beautiful views they have. The ballroom I want to turn into a bar, and.." Mr Stewart continued but Hiccup's eyes were focused onthe ghost which head down walked away. Hiccup really felt sorry her.

Next day

"What you doing?"

"Aah!! please don't do that" Hiccup screamed, Merida just had a look of amusement on her face.

"Hiccup you okay?" Fishlegs asked, they both were inspecting the map of the castle.

"Yeah, I am good. Just be back in a moment" Hiccup said walking away, Merida hovering behind him.

"Did I scare you?" Merida teased.

"Ofcourse you did, your a ghost with crazy red hair" Hiccup said his face pale.

"To be honest, I am just doing normal things" Merida shrugged.

"Hey are you like Casper?" Hiccup asked suddenly.

"Who is Casper?" Merida asked scrunching up her nose. "Casper you know the friendly ghost."Hiccup hinted but Merida just shook her head.

"Come on!, he has like three movies and his own tv show!!" Hiccup hinted.

"Incase you don't know, we didn't have tv 1200 years ago. The only thing I know about tv, is that it is a box with moving pictures and even that information came from an archeologist that said he is gonna sell my mother's dress to the museum and buy a tv. I scared him off" Merida grinned proudly hovering a few inches from the ground.

"Aah good times" Merida commented smiling and Hiccup couldn't help but chuckle.

"Your not gonna scare me off, right?" Hiccup asked and Merida shook her head.

"Nah!, your the first person I am talking to after 1200 years. I think I would like you to stick around for a while."

"Yesterday you looked pretty disturbed when you heard Mr Stuart's plans" Hiccup asked and Merida shook her head sadly.

"Well this place, is the only thing that reminds of my time. The golden age of my life. Believe it or not once these hallways were filled with poeple, servants, advisors, guest. I would run out from those stairs after every princess lesson and then to the stables and..." Merida stopped.

"You don't need to continue, I can only imagine your pain" Hiccup said as he looked around with a new prespective, somebody's home not beautiful architecture or a peice of history.

After a long silence, Merida said " You know it really feels great to be seen and talk to someone. Even if that person is gonna destroy my home"

Before Hiccup could reply, Fishlegs shouted " Hiccup come back already. We aren't gonna get any work done at this rate!!" He shouted.

"Lets make a deal, you won't disturb me during work and after work we can talk as long as you want" he said taking out his hand to shake.

"Deal" Merida grinned and shook his hand. Her hand were ice cold but welcoming at the same time.

A week later.

The days passed and Hiccup didn't know how to feel, who knew a person who has been alone for 1200 years can make another person feel like they don't need any other company.

Every day, he waited for the day to be finnished so he can go and talk to Merida. His teammates were suspicious but didn't say anything.

Merida sticked to her side of the deal, Hiccup didn't see her during the day, not at all but sometimes he wanted her to appear, even a smile from her during the day would work for him.

One day Hiccup got his wish, he was late for lunch because Snotlout/Smith was narrating how heroically he saved a girl.

Hiccup being the nice guy, couldn't say no to him. He was trying his best to keep himself distracted till Snotlout finnished till something caught his eye.

He had a great veiw of the ballroom because of the door was opened which they used to some tools.

There Merida was, dancing alone but it looked like she was dancing with a partner, she sang in a painful voice, which could make anyone cry. Luckily Smith's story was long enough for Hiccup to see the dance end.

She stood there silently for a while, her eyes begged her imaginary partner to stay, Slowly she reached to touch the person but then suddenly she almost fall back as if the person she wanted, had disappeared or something.

Hiccup couldn't blame her, Merida had narrated him the tale already but she hardly mentioned her lover. Hiccup wasn't that great when it comes to love but he could definitely tell that the person she was imagining was her lover.

"Once upon a December" he heard her sing the last verse and then exact moment Snotlout ended his story.

"Wasn't it impressive Hiccup" Snotlout finnished.

"Yes that was definitely impressive" Hiccup replied, glancing back at the ballroom but Merida had vanished.

That night

"Hi Merida" Hiccup greeted as they met at their usual spot.

"Hi Hic-Harry" Merida greeted walking towards him and Toothless jumped down from Hiccup's shoulder to Merida.

"Hello Toothless," Merida giggled as she swooped him in her arms and Hiccup smiled looking at them.

"So what tale you have for me today?" He asked smiling. The night always started with Merida narrating a tale and Hiccup interuppting her purposely and then they started playfully fighting and that's how their days had passed.

"I guess I really want to tell you about Hiccup" Merida sighed dreamily.

"You remind me alot of him and I have been missing him alot recently. Since telling you things makes me feel better. I was hoping I could tell you about him" Merida asked.

"Sure" Hiccup replied, even though he didn't really like listening to his crush's dead fiancee. Oh my the irony is so high.

"Wow you still love him after not seeing him for 1200 years" Hiccup commented after hearing the story.

"Love is for eternity, I just don't know why we got seperated. Maybe there was something else in store for me" Merida whispered looking out of the window.

"Yea like scaring poor archeologist" Hiccup joked.

"Hey! How would you feel if someone unwanted came to your house and started taking stuff" Merida playfully replied.

"Good question but I think my dad's message outside our house was pretty clear" Hiccup replied.

"Well I think my dad's sign would be, Beware the Bear King"

"My dad's message was a picture of him wrestling" Hiccup replied and Merida snorted.

"No! I am serious!. There was a reason I didn't have much friends" Hiccup said chuckling as well and the conversation continued till Hiccup stood up yawning.

"Better get going now!, it's 10 already. The gang is getting suspicious" Hiccup said opening his arms and Merida looked at him confused.

"Come on, I want a hug" he grinned and Merida awkwardly hugged him.

Hiccup could never get use to her cold body but then again he didn't care. There was something about her, that kept Hiccup pulling him closer and closer.

Next morning

Hiccup covered his head with his pillow, trying to block Fishlegs voice but it wasn't working very nicely. You could still hear him reading the paper aloud.

Finally Hiccup gave up trying to sleep and sat up straight. He shot a glare to Fishlegs who was still busy in reading the paper to notice it. After brushing his teeth, he went downstairs to make him some breakfast.

"Hi" Astrid greeted him as he entered the kitchen.

"Hey" Hiccup yawned getting two eggs from the fridge

"So me and the gang are going on a hike. Good way to spend a Saturday. So pack your things and-" Astrid was cut off by Hiccup.

"I think I will pass, thanks for the offer though" he said getting a plate.

"Harry you know, we are really worried for you. I mean your spending every single free second of yours inthat castle" Astrid started.

"Woah! So not true!" Hiccup objected.

"Tell me the last time, you spend time with us!" Astrid demanded.

"Just two days ago, I went grocery shopping with you guys" Hiccup replied.

"That was because you wanted to keep a eye on Ruby, Smith and Turner so they don't buy stupid things" Astrid argued.

"Whatever, I was there!" Hiccup shot back.

"Boys!!" Astrid shouted and immediately Hiccup was tackled onthe ground by Snotlout and Tuffnut. Well atleast Fishlegs didn't sat on him.

"You had left us with no choice"

With Merida
Night time

Merida strolled around the empty corridors, she smiled thinking about the beautiful story each hallway told but her smile soon

Faded when she realised that soon non of this was going to be here. She dreaded thinking about it but she couldn't help it. Meeting Harry had kept her distracted but now all those thoughts came in her mind again.

This castle was her everything, it was the only identity Merida was left with. The jewels had been looted the day the clans attacked, things like clothes, old toys, accessories were taken by archeologist even her beloved bow.

This castle was the only thing that reminded her of her previous life but it was going to be a hotel soon. She was going to lose her home of 1220 years.

She walked slowly to her room, touching the post of her bed with the scratch marks. She lightly touched the scratch match and smiled, a different story each told.

She kneeled down and took something from under the bed. She hugged the object as the memory came back.

Flashback

"Yes Hiccup?" Merida asked with a small grin.

"I-uh, got you. No made...you..something. did I mention I work at the blacksmith" Hiccup stuttered his left hand still behind his back.

"Wow! Its so beautiful" Merida complimented, her eyes big as she saw what Hiccup had brought.

"Do you like it?" Hiccup asked unsurely.

"Like it? I love you. I mean I love it" Merida said turning red and Hiccup smiled.

End of Flash back

They were just sixteen then. Merida was still feeling a little bad about turning her mother into a bear so Hiccup had made her arrow with her name carved on it to cheer her up.

"They might have taken everything from me but they couldn't just take you" she said to the arrow and then hid it again.

She sat on her dusty bed again, thinking hard. Some time later this room was going to be used by businessman or rich tourist. She didn't like the idea at all but then again, she knew that one day everything had to go. It was the circle of life, nothing last forever. She was the only one who was stuck here and she hated it. She wanted to be with her family, with Hiccup.

She had no idea what happened to them, all she remembers she woke up inthe ballroom to find it covered with blood but with no bodies.

And then rest of 1200 years spent in scaring poeple away. It's not like she had any other job so why not scare those idoits away. She had to admit it was really fun. If Hamish, Hubert and Harris were here they would make sure no living soul came back.

Merida chuckled at the thought, of her brothers scaring poeple away. That would be a treat to watch.

"Oh! I almost forgot. Happy birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me" she sang (ok I cried at this part).

"May I have no more, may I have no more.
Happy birthday to me" she sang her voice cracking at the end. It's been the same for 1200 years, her story was now legend but she was still here.

"I know how Mordu used to feel now, I just wish someone comes and get me untrapped from here. Is that too much to ask for Manny?" She asked looking at the moon.

Monday

Hiccup woke up extra early to go and talk to Merida. These two days were the dullest days of his life and he didn't know why. It was actually a fun trip but he couldn't enjoy properly.

"Merida!!"

"Merida!!"

"Merida!!"

Hiccup called but no reply. Hiccup got worried when she didn't appear onthe third call.

"You don't think, she got mad at me" Hiccup asked Toothless and Toothless shrugged.

"Well lets go check her room" He said going upstairs.

Hiccup found Merida, wrapped in a type of tapestry peacefully sleeping. Her head was resting on the bed but rest of the body was onthe floor and she was snoring slightly. Hiccup mentally awed, how can a ghost be so cute.

Toothless approached Merida and slightly licked her face, Merida scrunched her nose and opened her eyes.

"Hi Toothless" she said in a slightly hoarse voice.

"Meow" Toothless replied.

"I didn't know ghost slept,?" Hiccup asked.

"We don't really need to but it was a good way to pass time besides I loved sleeping when I was alive" Merida replied causing Hiccup to chuckle.

"Is that you?" He asked pointing at the red head onthe tapestry.

"Yea, that's me and that's my mother as a bear. We made this together after a big accident. I was just really missing her so I slept with this around me, it smells like her so it feels like my mother is hugging me" Merida replied.

"I can understand, my father died last year and even though we always didn't have a steady relationship. I miss him alot" Hiccup commented.

"So I hope you had a good weekend" Merida asked putting away the tapestry.

"Look Merida, I am sorry. I didn't tell you-"

"Harry relax, I am not mad at you. Your forgetting I lived without company for 1200 years besides it was my birthday and prefer to spend it alone" she smiled sadly.

"Wait your birthday and you didn't tell me!" Hiccup shouted.

"It's no big deal. I mean birthdays for a dead person. Doesn't matter" Merida said waving her hand.

"I think your friends are here now, you should get to work" Merida smiled before disappearing in thin air.

Hiccup looked down from the window to see Astrid and the others coming out of the car.

"Well I can never get used to that" Hiccup commented going downstairs.

2 weeks later

It's been three weeks since, Hiccup had made friends with a ghost, well more than friends in his opinion. He tried to tell himself a million times that it was a figment of his imagination, he just wanted some one to love and he created a person to love but then he would catch Smith running around the house, shouting floating tools or Fred sandwich disappearing and the best part was with Ruby and Turner. When Merida use to hit Ruby but she thought it was Turner and vice versa. Then the epic fight began.

Merida was a lost soul who just wanted to move on, she never knew why she was stuck here. It hurt Hiccup to know, that one day he has to go back and Merida would stay here haunting hotel residents.

He wanted to take Merida with him or stay here. He didn't care which way he just wanted to be with her. Was it love?

The Next Day

"Merida!!" Hiccup shouted looking around.

"Hmmm" Merida said appearing behind him.

'Aah! You really need to stop doing that" Hiccup said clutching his chest.

"Sorry somethings I can't help it" Merida grinned.

"I need a favour, you see..." Hiccup asked and Merida stopped him.

"Wait a minute!" Merida said raising a finger, " I learned a new trick" she said getting excited.

"Okay" Hiccup said awkwardly and Merida ran into him.

Literally passed through him, Hiccup felt goosebumps on his skin and then he turned around and faced Merida who was on her knees panting hard.

"Let me guess,Your father didn't let you take dance lessons, so you don't know how to dance and you think you will make a fool out of yourself at Mr Stewart's party. So you want me to teach you" Merida answered.

"How did you know?" Hiccup asked surprised.

"Well today I accidentally went through Amy, who was dreaming about this muscular guy named Eric and I suddenly felt what she was thinking. So I decided to test it on you" she grinned standing up straight.

"So will you help me?" Hiccup asked.

"I don't know, I haven't danced with someone for along time" Merida frowned.

"Well now you got the chance, so please help me" he begged.

"But we don't have any music" she objected.

"I got that covered," Hiccup said taking out his phone.

"If your friends run into you, they would think you have finally lost it. Dancing with air"Merida reminded.

"I don't care" he replied simply.

"Well fine, since you don't care why should I bother" Merida said." Put on the music" she commanded and Hiccup nodded.

"This was my parent's favourite song" Hiccup said as he put the phone onthe floor and the tune started playing. It was relaxing to hear.

"Ok first put your hand on my waist" she said placing his hand " and then you hold my other hand and I will place my hand on your shoulder." She directed.

"One step back, one step forward and no stepping on .ouch!. Feet" Merida grimaced and Hiccup gave her apologic look.

" Nice song" Merida commented, as they slowly danced and Hiccup grinned trying his best to avoid Merida's toes.

No scorching sun, nor freezing cold

It was dark outside and the moon was the only light available, Merida and Hiccup were slowly dancing with faint blush on their cheeks. Their movements were slow and by now Merida knew that Harry was lying when he said he didn't know how to dance.

But I have no need for these might deeds

M: oh but I would bring you rings of gold

The music had fastened now, Hiccup spun Merida around with one handwhile the other hand behind his back, Merida's wild curls dancing with her as she spun faster. Toothless started to feel dizzy.

F: I don't have use for rings of gold
I care not for your poetry
I only want your hand to hold
I only want you near me

The pair laughed in joy as they danced wholeheartedly, their fingers entwined together. Toothless tried to join the dancing as well standing on its hind legs. The Author picked Toothless and started dancing as well.

Hiccup picked Merida up bridal style and spun her around, they were both too happy to feel dizzy . Merida's arms around Hiccup's neck as they happily laughed, the music playing inthe background and then there was poor Toothless and the Author who both fainted due to much spinning.

If you would marry me!

The song ended and Hiccup put Merida down but both were still living the impossible dream. Merida looked at Harry keenly, the same freckled face, those same forest green eyes but he wasn't going to disappear. She slowly reached to touch his face, Hiccup slightly bended towards her.

She gently stroked his cheek, he didn't disappear. For the first time in 1200 years, he didn't vanish, he didn't turn into dust, he was there. Slowly she leaned closer and so did Hiccup.

Closer.

"Meow!!" Toothless called snapping them awake.

Merida jumped back in realization,.
"No Merida wait!!" Hiccup shouted but it was too late, she had disappeared.

2 days later

"You okay Hiccup?" Astrid asked as Hiccup finnished his lunch.

"Yea, I am good. If you don't mind can I take the rest of the off" he asked looking at the ground sadly.

"Are you ok?, yesterday you didn't come to work and now you want a half day" Astrid asked.

"Yeah, I am fine. It's just my left leg is hurting alot. I think I would have a painkiller and then go take a nap" Hiccup lied.

"Sure, you have the painkiller right?" Astrid asked and Hiccup nodded as he slowly stood up.

He wish, he had a painkiller that would end the pain in his heart that was caused by 1221 years old spirit. It's been two days since he had seen Merida and it was all his fault. If he didn't insist on dancing and not to mention put such a romantic song none of this would have happened.

"Toothless I have messed up big time" he said looking beside him, to see his bestfriend not present.

"Toothless?" Hiccup called as he stepped inside the castle, place he avoided for two days.

"Meow!!" Toothless called and Hiccup looked behind to see Toothless running down the stairs towards him and standing on top of the stairs was non other than Merida Dunbroch.

Hiccup was frozen, as Merida slowly descended the stairs, hovering a few inches above the ground.

Finally she reached him, both were standing there looking at eachother for a moment before Merida ran to Hiccup and he opened his arms.

"We can't be together, we will be seperated again" was the first thing Merida whispered hugging him tightly.

"Shh, don't say that." Hiccup whispered, holding her cold body.

"No I am serious, yesterday I figured out why I haven't been able to move on to the spirit world. I am connected to the castle, till the castle lives, I live. When the castle will be destroyed I will disappear with it" Merida explained.

"I found you again after such a longtime, Hiccup or Harry. I don't care. I know your the same person. Your the same person I fell in love with over a thousand years ago. As much I tried to deny this but I can't now" she said breaking into sobs.

"Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to you. I promise. I will make sure we will stay together" Hiccup said with a determined look.

Few days later
Mr Stewart

"I don't understand Harry child" Mr Stewart asked confused.

"Mr Stewart I am sorry but poeple of Scotland are not appreciating the fact that you are turning one of the most importantly building inthe history of the country into a hotel. Not many poeple are gonna come here" Hiccup showed the website which had the poeple's angry comments.

Mr Stewart gulped reading the comments, in which the poeple cursed him. He couldn't afford to have bad publicity before the hotel was even built.

"And that's not the only thing, the building is said to be haunted. Many poeple have shared their stories. Actually its the top 20 most haunted places in Scotland. I am surprised that you didn't know about this" Hiccup said shaking his head.

Mr Stewart scratched his head, as Hiccup opened the website which claimed it to be haunted. He was so worked up inthe project in Ireland that we didn't indeed did his work properly.

"Harry, what am I gonna do now. I have already invested so much in it" Stewart asked worriedly.

"Don't worry I have a suggestion" Hiccup grinned.

At the castle.

"This can be the entrance and......" Hiccup continued showing Stewart the map.

"I can't believe the crazy idea of his worked" Astrid muttered and Gobber shrugged.

"This Harry we are talking about, maybe he was planning this from the very beginning" he replied.

"Well atleast a peice of history got saved" Fishlegs said.

"Yea and we have to do less work now" Snotlout added.

"I am disappointed that there was no destruction" Ruffnut said sadly.

"It would be like a action movie, Bang and Boom!!" Tuffnut agreed.

"That planning of yours is magnificent, we start work tommorow!!" Mr Stewart cheered.

Hiccup chuckled, looking back. Merida was watching him from the first floor, she was leaning against the railing and Toothless was beside her, sitting onthe railing.

She winked at him, causing him to turn red and she watched with a amusing grin.

"Come on! Let's go have lunch!!. My treat!" Mr Stewart cheered patting Hiccup onthe back.

The rest of the gang cheered as well," let me go get Toothless" Hiccup said as the rest went outside.

Hiccup literally skipped some stairs going upstairs in excitement.

"Tadadada I did it!!. I told you I can do it but you didn't listen" Hiccup cheered and Toothless meowed as well.

"I knew you could do it, you do always manage to find a way" Merida smiled.

"But Hiccup don't be too excited, in a few months you have to go back and I can't come with you." Merida reminded.

"Can you please let me enjoy, two minutes of joy" Hiccup asked.

"Fine"

"So as to celebrate, shall we dance?" Hiccup asked.

"No!!" The Author and Toothless shouted in unison but as always were ignored. Tough life. We know.

"Sure" Merida said giving her hand to him.

"Haha very funny, Mer" Hiccup said as Merida's hand passed through his.

Merida looked confused at her hand and glanced worriedly back at Hiccup. It took a moment for Hiccup to put together the peices.

"No" Hiccup managed to breath.

But it was too late, Merida was becoming transparent right infront of his eyes.

"No!!!" He shouted angrily as Merida whispered, "I am disappearing, but why?" she looked heartbroken as well. What was happening?. Her body was start trembling with fear and it was evident in her eyes.

Toothless tried to clung on Merida dress but passed right through her.

"Merida!" Hiccup shouted as Merida completely started to disappear, the bottom of dress and feet not even existing anymore.

"Hiccup!" She cried trying to hold his shoulder but the same result. Hiccup tried his best to hold her hand but it was like holding air.

"Don't let go, just stay with me!" He begged, his green eyes widened with worry. He trying his best to feel her hand but it wasn't possible anymore.

"I can't, Hiccup this was meant to be. I am sorry this couldn't work the way you wanted. I want you to live your life, find some else, be happy. That's all I want from you" she said almost crying, as she tried to hold his face, trying to comfort him, even though she needed comforting herself. Slowly she was loosing her senses. Her vision blurred and voices became muffled.

"No no no you will stay with me. This is all a bad dream. We will wake up any moment now" Hiccup reassured trying his best to hold back his tears. He didn't want to lose her, he can't lose her. He loved her, if he let go now she will be gone forever and that he can't just afford  that at any cost.

"This was the day, I was dreaming for, for many centuries just so I can be with you again but now I have found you again it's time for me to go. This wrong. This is so wrong!!" Merida shouted crying.

"I just wanna say, I say love y-" with that she was gone forever. The day she dreamed for 1000 years, became the day she dreaded in only one month. That's the funny effect of love, it changes your prespective over things. Instead of relief she went with a broken heart.

And let's not forget, the young man who is has fallen on his knees, breathing heavily. He tried his best, to best to keep her with him but it didn't work. His efforts wasted. All his hard work and all the lies he made to convince his friends to help him, wasted.

At first he was in denial, she wasn't gone. She was with him. She still watched him work, she smiled at him when he wasn't looking. It was so hard to go back to that place every day, knowing now that there wasn't a spirit hiding inthe shadows waiting for him to finnish work so they can talk till morning.

When he walked around the ballroom, he thought of the person who use to dance her heart out. She once told him that, one of the reasons she loved dancing because it helped her get the frustration out. Dancing was the only thing that kept her sane all these years.

Hiccup looked around, no one was here. He checked his watch, it was lunch time, he took his phone out. He paused for a moment, then he clicked play.

I'll swim and sail on savage seas
With never fear of drowning

He stood there, as those beautiful memories slowly came back.

" Nice song", she had commented.

That was all Hiccup needed to remember, he ran outside leaving his phone onthe floor. The music playing inthe background.

Months passed, but the scar remained. Most of the work was done. His idea was a success, poeple were really excited to hear that this castle was open to public now. Mr Stewart bought all the things back which belonged inthe castle and in one those things, was a portrait of her.

The artist was truly talented, he had captured the mischievous glint in her electric blue eyes perfectly, her hair was like fire and her cheeks filled with colour. A playful smirk was on her face. Hiccup couldn't stop staring, it felt like she was going to step out of the portrait any minute. Little did he know, the talented artist he was praising was non other but himself.

6 months passed, all the hardwork had payed off. The museum was ready and today was the grand opening, it was all over the news. Many poeple were present so they can experience the grand opening.

Hiccup wondered, what if Merida was present she would be so happy to see the Dunbroch castle back in it's glory. She would be beside him, occasionally making fun of someone and they both would laugh and then poeple gave Hiccup the weird look but he won't care but Merida would surely comment
"Poeple think you have lost it, laughing alone doesn't make a good impression on girls".

Oh how much he wanted to hear her comments, but she was gone. She was like the wind, which brought him cool air in a desert but left and to never return leaving him wanting for more.

The museum was jam packed with poeple, girls crowded around the dresses, men examined the weapons, mothers pointing out things to their children. His friends were all busy with their dates. Amy came with a guy named Eric who Merida had informed to Hiccup longtime ago, Smith was with Ruby, Fred was Melanie ( female version of McGuffin) and Turner was with Dorothy (Female version of Dingwall).

Hiccup found it funny how everyone had found someone in Scotland inculding him but as always he can't get anything normally, it had to be ghost. He couldn't have met Merida, in a coffee shop or in mall. No, she had to be a ghost. Funny, witty, sarcastic, loving, cute but still a ghost.

But he wasn't going to complain, that month was the most magical month of his life. Falling in love with Merida was the best adventure he had. He just hoped, she was happy wherever she was.

Right now, he was standing infront of her painting. The same one, her smile making him smile as he stood there with his hands in his pockets. She will always be with him.

Well did you cry?, if you didn't cry then I feel sad, man I worked so hard on this. The inspiration for this oneshot was the song inthe beginning. I was listening to it and reading some writing ideas, which was suggested by Neriny. Thank you Ner.

Then suddenly I thought of the ending and slowly the whole plot came in my mind. I literally love this oneshot, believe me if I have enough money I would make a movie on it. Ofcourse names will be changed.

Another announcement I have to make for the poeple who cried at the ending. That's not the ending. Can't help it. The ending is.

"Stop staring at me like that, it's creepy" a fimilair voice commented.

Hiccup almost fell back hearing that voice, "Mer-ida" Hiccup stuttered looking back.

Merida shrugged, "Ghost or not, I always manage to scare you"

"I must be dreaming, you can't be real" Hiccup said slapping himself

"I know, it's impossible to believe but I am as real as you are" Merida said taking a step closer.

"But how?" Hiccup asked as Merida gently took his hand. Her hand was warm.

"It's really complicated but I am here and only because of you, by the way did you know that after every 1000 years a same generation was born, starting from our tenth ancestor" Merida grinned.

Hiccup still looked dumbfounded not able to utter a word.

"So judging from your expressions you didn't miss me much" Merida teased and Hiccup smirked.

"Oh come here you!"

Well that was the real end. I just had so much fun writing this oneshot. I just love it to the core.

Personally my favourite was the one in which Merida was remembering her family and Hiccup and when suddenly Hiccup disappears.

Ok I think the plot is confusing for you. First things to be cleared, Merida was living a dual life. She was awake as spirit, she was sleeping as a human. When she was awake as human, she was sleeping as a spirit. The thing is that, she only started experiencing these things when she was born again, which is 21 years ago.

Her life as a spirit, were like recurring dreams for her inthe human world and vice versa.

She was in comma in human world, when she met Hiccup. When she woke up from comma, her spirit disappeared back to her body but she remembered Hiccup and her past life as a ghost. So six months later reunited.

Ok just ignore this all, I can't explain properly.

Okay bad news time, school starts on Monday. One hour a day cellphone. Not enough time. So sorry in advance for short oneshots and no updates every week.
