"I wonder when dad comes back"Hiccup whispered to Toothless. They were flying above the blue sea, waiting to see Stoick's ship.

"Hiccup!!" A voice shouted from behind.

"Oh no not her again"Hiccup muttered.
"Hiccup!!" The voice shouted.

"I heard you" he shouted.

"Your dad is coming and he will bring a few guests with him"Astrid announced flying beside him.

"Oh ok, great" was all he said his eyes still searching the blue seas.
"Hiccup why are you ignoring me?" Astrid asked all of a sudden.

"Here it goes again" Hiccup groaned.
"Astrid I am not ignoring you, I just need some space these days" he answered.

"Okay whatever you say" Astrid replied coldly and Stromfly flew back to Berk.

Hiccup messed up his hair frustrated. He didn't know why he was getting irritated by Astrid's presence. He was avoiding her as best as he could." Thor help me" he said flying above the clouds and laying back.

He was confused as hell. His parents were forcing him to marry Astrid and he onthe other hand was trying his best to avoid her.

Next day

Stoick's ship

"I promised my friend Fergus that I will protect his family and I intend to keep this promise" Stoick said to Eleanor.

"Thank you very much Cheif Stoick, you dont know how much your assistance means to us"Queen Eleanor replied and gave Merida a glare.

Merida made a face at her mother and then turned to the Cheif." Thank you for your help" she said and lightly bowed.

Stoick just laughed patting Merida's head. "After meeting your daughter I really wish i had one".

A devious smile crept on Eleanor's face. "Well consider her your daughter" she hinted and Merida eyes widened.

"Excuse me"she said going back to her room.

"She's a little shy, by the way how is your family? Your son?" She asked.

"Ah their great, I got my wife back and my son is gonna get his own wife soon"Stoick said chuckling.

"Oh Congratulations" Eleanor said happily thinking he was talking about Merida.

"Yeah Astrid is a great girl" Stoick said and Eleanor smiled turned upside down.

"Yes! Yes! Yes!" Merida said dancing onthe deck. "Thank you Astrid" she said waving her hands wildly inthe air. All the crew members stopped working and stood frozen staring at the dancing princess.

"What?" She asked and everyone shuffled back to work.

"As I told you Eleanor ,your daughter is something" Stoick chuckled.
He then went to Merida and asked " may I have the honour of this dance" she nodded and they started dancing onthe deck.

The whole boat started shaking." Well that was great, promise a another dance when we arrive at Berk"Stoick said laughing and Merida nodded. Stoick was acting just like her father.

She missed her father terribly. He was alone in Dunbroch fighting. She would go back to him as soon as possible.

Few hours later
Berk

The ship was coming near. Hiccup couldn't wait to meet his father. Skull crusher had the same feeling. He was standing between Astrid and his mom.

The ship finally reached and Hiccup's father came out. "Dad!!" Hiccup shouted running towards him. "Son"Stoick cheered lifting Hiccup of the ground while hugging him.

"Stoick"Valka said joining the hug. Everyone looked at the cute family completed after such a long time.

After the hug Stoick cleared his throat. "Well I have brought few guests with me. Queen Eleanor of Dunbroch" Stoick said and Eleanor daintly got off the ship.

"Queen Eleanor this is my wife Valka and my son Hiccup" he introduced and Eleanor nodded shaking Valka's hand.

"Oh great royalty" Astrid whispered in Hiccup's ear.

"Then the three prince Hamish, Hubert and Harris" the tripelts caming running out.Their shirts were stuffed with something.

Harris tripped and cakes came out from shirt. "Great greedy prince" Astrid muttered again and Hiccup started feeling irritated. He thought the Prince were funny.

And finally, "Princess Merida of Dunbroch" Stoick said but no one came out.

"Merida?"Eleanor asked in confusion.

"Wow a shy princess" Astrid said aloud. Eleanor felt offended but didn't say anything.

Suddenly a arrow flew past her, missing her by an inch.

Hiccup was stunned." What just happened" he managed to breath out.

Onthe bridge a figure in a cloak was stood. The figure was holding a bow.

The cape fell back. To reveal a girl with bight red curly hair. Hiccup was stunned he had never seen someone with such a bright hair colour.

"I am Merida" she said confidently and "next time the arrow won't miss" she said glaring at Astrid who glared back.

"Well umm...This is Astrid Hiccup's fiance" Stoick introduced.

Merida joined her mother and brothers onthe left side while Hiccup and Astrid were standing onthe right.

"Well we leave for lunch"Valka announced and everyone started walking back to their homes.

The Dunbroch family followed the Haddocks.

"That girl is so dead" Astrid whispered to Hiccup and he just shrugged.

This made her angry and she stormed of to her home.

"What happened to Astrid? " Eret asked. "Don't know" Hiccup replied carelessly and Eret ran after her.

Hiccup joined the others. Valka and Stoick were busy catching up. Eleanor was constantly scolding the boys to behave.

Merida looked lost. Stoick had started praising Merida to Valka and Eleanor was keenly listening.

"Hi" hiccup said softly.

"Hi where is your welcoming fiance"Merida asked.

"Well she stormed off, nothing different" he said and chuckled.

"Oh"was all she replied before joining her mother

Her mother looked like she was scolding Merida about something. Merida just shrugged and kept walking.

They finally reached their house." Where's Astrid?" Stoick asked.

"She had something to do" Hiccup replied and shrugged. They went inside and the table was set filled with food.

They all sat down. Hiccup purposely sat next to Merida. He was curious about her.

The dinner was lively with talking, laughing but Merida didn't blend in. She missed her father.

The triplets disappeared as soon as the dinner finnished. Stoick went to meet Gobber. Valka and Eleanor surprisingly found alot in common and soon started chatting.

That left our two main Chracters. "You want to have a tour?" Hiccup asked. "Sure" Merida replied smiling ,maybe she can find a route to escape.

They left the two chatting mothers and went outside. "This is Toothless"Hiccup said gesturing to his dragon who was looking at Merida with wide eyes. Merida stepped back in shock.

Slowly she stepped forward, toothless also stepped forward. She raised her hand and toothless backed away.

"Its ok, I am not gonna hurt you" she said patting Toothless's head lightly.

Toothless grinned showing his empty gums. "I see why you call him Toothless" she said grinning." Yeah, long story" Hiccup said smiling back.

"Your so cute" she said scratching his head.
"Just like his owner right? " Hiccup joked.

"Actually I was gonna say the opposite of his owner" she said grinning. Toothless started laughing rolling onthe floor.

"Buddy you are supposed to be on my side"
He whined.

Toothless just stuck his tongue out at him and Merida started laughing hard. Toothless also started laughing." Thank you for nothing, your useless reptile" Hiccup groaned.

"Aww they look cute" Fishlegs said and Astrid punched his arm." Ouch! I meant you guys are cuter" Fishlegs said rubbing his arm.

"So what do we have to"Tuffnut asked.
"Spy on them duh ,Tuff your so stupid" Ruffnut replied.

"Your stupider"
"Your stupidest"

"Guys stop fighting" Astrid said punching Tuffnut onthe face.

"You see that girl Snotlout, Isn't she pretty. You guys are perfect for each other. Go do your magic" Astrid provoked.

"I don't know, she's a lot like you. Just more prettier, more nice and it looks like Hiccup likes her more" Snotlout said.

"And besides I already have Ruff" he added.
"In your dreams" Ruffnut shouted.

"See a perfect relationship" Snotlout said proudly.

"You guys are useless" she commented.

"Nothing new" they said unison.

"I think I need to talk to him by myself" Astrid said.

They saw Merida's mother approaching the pair and Merida going with her.

"Bye Hiccup talk to you tommorow"Merida said waving to him.

Hiccup scratched the back of his head shyly as blush crept on his cheeks.

"Hiccup we need to talk" his daydream was broken by Astrid's angry voice.

"Yeah Astrid what happened" Hiccup asked fixing Toothless's saddle nervously.

"Hiccup look me inthe eye and talk" Astrid commanded and Hiccup lifted his gaze.

"Yeah Astrid" he asked looking her straight inthe eye.

"What has happened to you huh? You have been avoiding me since 2 or 3 months then suddenly a girl appears and you start chatting and laughing with a random girl. Are you ok?" Astrid asked tears coming in her eyes.( I feel bad for ya Astrid but this is a Merricup book.)

He took a deep breath and started "Astrid I am sorry I am avoiding you but from few months I have been doubting the fact if your the one for me. As for Merida there is nothing between us. Astrid I have been really doubting the fact if i love you or not. I love you as a friend but as a lover I am not so sure"

Astrid's face darkened, "its this what you really feel" she managed to ask.

Hiccup turned his back and nodded. He hadn't the courage to face her.

"Well then there is no need to carry on this relationship" she shouted throwing her ring onthe ground tears streaming down her face.

"Astrid wait!!" Hiccup shouted but she was long gone.

Three days later

"Its been three days, Hiccup is not eating or drinking, he doesn't want to talk to anyone. He is sitting still like statue and his appearance makes him look like a ghost" Valka told Stoick worried.

"Where is he?" Stoick asked.

"Onthe Misty Mountains" Valka replied.
"I swear that boy is gonna be the death of me" Stoick said.

"I think he just needs time, he's better at coping things himself alone" Valka said and Stoick nodded.

Merida overheard them. She saw Hiccup's fat friend walking with his dragon." Hey umm"Merida stopped him

"Fishlegs name is Fishlegs" he said.
"Yea Fishlegs can you tell me where Misty Mountains is?" She asked.

"Yeah you go there and then take a left then a right and then you will see a river. Above the river is Misty Mountains" he explained pointing towards the forest.

"Thanks alot" she said running towards the forest, her wild red hair flying back.

"Fishlegs is pretty good at telling the direction" she said when she saw the misty mountains. "Hiccup where are you?" She whispered. She finally spotted him on single tall mountain(the one merida climbed). Behind Hiccup Toothless was sleeping.

"Now or never" she whispered and started climbing the mountain. "God this is harder than I thought" she panted and continued climbing. "Hiccup!!" She shouted.

Hiccup eyes opened," Merida? "He questioned sitting straight. He shared a confusing look with Toothless.

"Hiccup!!" She shouted again. "Merida where are you?!!" He shouted. "Down here" she shouted again.

Hiccup peered from the edge to see merida climbing. His heart beat fastened. Merida could trip and fall to her death any minute.

"Merida climb slowly" he said forgetting all his problems. "I am" she said panting.

"Oh god your getting tired, that's bad" he said biting his nail.

Merida finally was near to the flat area.

Hiccup was sitting onthe edge anxiously watching her climb.

"Thor keep her safe" he prayed.

"Just a little more- aaah!! She screamed when the rock she grabbed broke and she lost her balance.

"Merida!!" Hiccup screamed jumping off the rock. They were both falling down. Finally Hiccup managed to grab her hand and pull her in to a tight hug. "You idiot why did you jump" Merida screamed pressed against him.

"Cause you fell" he replied tightening the hug." This our end" she whispered but Toothless grabbed them with his claws in a nick of time.

He dropped at the same rock . Hiccup fell back first with Merida on top of him.

"You okay" he asked. "Yea..yeah" she replied panting.

"You scared me" Hiccup said finally letting go. "I scared you? Your the one who jumped off like a mad man. Seriously what were you thinking? " she asked worried.

"Well I thought that if your gonna die, I should die with you otherwise my father would have killed me" He joked standing up.

He felt dizzy and fell back. "You okay"Merida asked worried." Yeah just a little dizzy" he replied holding his head.

"You need something to eat" she said helping Hiccup stand up and helped him sit on Toothless. She then climbed behind him. "Hold on tight" he ordered and Toothless started flying.

"This is awesome" Merida breathed holding his waist tightly." I know" he replied.

They finally landed onthe river bank. You sit here and i will catch the fish" she said taking her bow and arrow.

Hiccup was about to protest but another wave of dizziness hit him.

20 minutes later.

"Your soaking wet" Hiccup commented when Merida came out from the river.

"It will dry off"she said shivering.

"Nope you cant fool me" he said taking a cloak out of Toothless's saddle and wrapping it around her.

"Well we got the fish and all we need is a fire" she informed.

"Well we weren't completely useless, right Toothless" Hiccup said showing a pile of wood and twigs.

Toothless blew fire and twigs started burning.

Merida produced five fishs.
"Three for Toothless, one each for us" she said.

Toothless gobbled four at the same time. "Make that four for Toothless" Hiccup said nervously.

"Well you can eat this one, you need it more than me" Merida said pushing the fish towards Hiccup.

"Lets share" he suggested.
Merida pierced the fish with her bow and Hiccup kept it near the fire.

Toothless was greedily eyeing their fish. After eating the fish Merida brought him some water. They sat and talked for a while.

Merida told how she turned her mother into a bear and Hiccup told how he met Toothless and defeated Red death and Drago.

"Parents" they said in unison after constantly ranting about them." My father understands me more than my mother"Merida said cleaning her arrow.

"Well I have the opposite case" Hiccup said stomping the fire.

"The sun is about to set, lets go home"Merida said standing up.

"Aww ok" Hiccup said climbing Toothless he gave his hand to Merida who took it and climbed behind him.

They left.

A winter spirit reached the misty mountains just as they left. "After such long day, its time to cheer up a depressed Hiccup" he said to himself flying to the top.

"What da" he shouted shocked as he saw the empty place.

"Thats weird just this morning he was planning to commit suicide-oh no he didn't. Hiccup!!" Jack shouted scared looking worriedly at the river below.

"Noooooooooo!!" He shouted kneeling onthe rock. His voice echoing everywhere.

"Merida dear where were you?. You are late for dinner" her mother asked standing up from table.

"And why are you wet?" She asked picking a wet strand of her hair.

"Mom, Cheif and Mrs Cheif. I present you Hiccup Horrendous Haddock" Merida announced and Hiccup came from behind the door.

Valka and Stoick ran to hug their son.
"See I told you he just needed to be a little alone" Valka said messing her son's hair

"Actually mom someone came to my rescue" he said and winked at Merida who blushed.

Both of the parents sensed something but didn't say anything. This was a start of something new.

Two weeks later

"Hiccup are you sure you can do that" Merida asked for 30 th time.

"Ofcourse i can" he said confidently.

"Look I have done half it" he said handing her the mirror.

"Impressive Mr Haddock" she said checking herself inthe mirror.

"Your welcome Mrs Hadd-i mean Miss Dunbroch" he said getting started onthe other part of the hair.

They were sitting inthe fields. Merida had challenged Hiccup that nobody could tie her hair and Hiccup had taken the challenge.

"Get him off me!! Get him off!!" Tuffnut shouted running down the field with Harris stuck on his right leg.

"Uh I am started to feel dizzy , guys someone help" Snotlout said walking like a drunk man. Hubert had climbed his shoulders and was banging his helmet with a hammer.

"Only Harris missing and he is with -"

"Fishlegs" they say in unison.

"Ants !!ants in my pants" Fishlegs screamed running towards the lake. Hamish was following him with a jar of honey.

"Umm Hiccup" Merida said sounding serious. "Hmm" he replied still busy with the braid.

"Astrid" she whispered and he jumped like he got a electric shock." I will go talk to her you stay here" he said and she nodded.

It was time to clear everything. "Hi Astrid" Hiccup said nervously.

'So there is nothing between you and Merida" she smirked

"About that" Hiccup said rubbing the back of his head.

"Its ok Hiccup ,I just came here to say thank you. I realised that you were right. I love you but as a best friend and to be honest I was also hesitant about the marriage thing but now I see your with some who you cant wait to marry" she chuckled.

"Thanks Astrid for making it more simple for me and lets stay best friend" taking his hand out for her to shake. Astrid shook it and left.

"So what happened?" Merida asked.
"We settled things" Hiccup replied giving the finishing touches to the braid.

"All done" he cheered.

A month later

A month has passed. Friendship has taken another turn but now the hardships start.
Will they overcome it.

Merida sighed its been a month and she hasn't heard a single thing from her father.

She closes the letter she had been reading. Elsa is sending more troops to help her father. She also promised to send news of Dunbroch if that is possible.

On the other hand Hiccup is restlessly walking in circles thinking what his father has to talk with them. "Its nothing" Astrid reassure him and he nods gratefully.

The whole gang was present along with their dragons. "Son" Stoick started.

"Yes dad" he replied.
"Your mother was given the news, that there are dangerous dragons found near the isle of fear. Inthe mountain ranges of Scar. I need you to go with your friends and confirm this" Stoick ordered in his Chief tone.

He nodded." Cool another adventure"
"I am gonna show those dragons whose boss"

"I wish they eat Tuffnut"
"It'll eat you first Ruff"
"But the isle of fear is so far, it will take a week for us to reach it"Fishlegs calculated.

"A week? " Hiccup asked surprised.
"Yep it will take us 2 weeks to come and go" Fishlegs replied.

Merida was standing at the dock of Berk. The snow pigeon in her hand carrying her letter. "Take this to your master" she ordered and the pigeon flew off.

"Merida" Hiccup called from behind.

"Yes captain one leg" Merida asked smirking.

"I have something serious to discuss with you" and he explained everything to Merida. Who was carefully listening.

"So will you come with me?" He asked giving his hand to her.

"No" she replied simply.
"What!" He asked shocked.

"I am sorry Hiccup but I am leader of my own land. I have got duties, responsibilities to my own poeple. My poeple could need me any time. I can't go"

"Are you crazy, your telling me that your gonna fight in a war zone area." He shouted.

"If I have to I will, after my father I am the only one who could lead my troops into battle and I will do it not once but a thousand times for my poeple" she said looking dead serious.

"Your not going there!!"he shouted grabbing her wrist.

"Hiccup your hurting me" she shouted in pain.

"Just promise you won't go anywhere when I am gone"he said leaving her wrist.

"I dont make promises that I dont intend to keep" with that she stormed off.

The next day

The riders were ready to go. The whole village came to say goodbye. The riders sped off to their new adventure.

Meanwhile the Cheif decided that Fergus needed more alliances. So he went on a long boat journey with his wife, queen Eleanor and the triplets. To find more alliance.

Leaving Merida behind.

She spent her time with Gobber. Who showed her how to make weapons, sharpen swords and how to use new types of weapons.

"I must say, Berk has a wide variety of weapons" she said.

"And you missy, really know how to use them"Gobber said handing her a sword to sharpen.

"Well I always had a thing with weapons" she said sharpening it.

After that she bought alot of weapons from him. She had started to prepare for her leaving.

Elsa said she is gonna send a ship to pick her up soon.

"Dont tell my mum, she hates weapons" Merida said and Gobber winked.

"Dont worry your secert is safe with me" he said.

Next Merida went to the clothes shop. We bought Berk style clothes(like Astrid's) so poeple cant recognize her and they were more easy to move in.

"Great everything done" she said packing every thing.

"Dad I am coming" she said taking her bow.
She even bought face paint, so she can't be recognized.

Merida reached the dock at dawn, when no one could see her leave. After half and hour the boat reached. It had Arendelle's flag.

"Princess Merida? " a man with long brown hair asked. "Yes" she said showing her necklace.

"Very well your highness I am Jim Hawkins" he said helping her climb the boat.

They both climbed the boat, and Jim rowed it to the ship.

They reached the ship. "Your highness, I dont think we need these much clothes" Peter pan said dragging the trunk.

"These are not clothes but weapons that I collected." Merida said wearing her hood over her head.

A girl came out from shadows. "Hello your highness I am Mulan, Queen Elsa asked me to accompany you".

"Well we are ready to sail"Jim shouted.

The ship started moving." Hello Mulan, I hope you know how to fight"Merida asked.

"Ofcourse I do" she said taking out her sword. "Well good" she said shaking her hand.

Three days later

"We cant go any further a dangerous storm is about to come" Fishlegs warned.

"Well lets just turn back"Hiccup said feeling relieved. He can now keep a better eye on Merida.

With Stoick

"A dangerous storm is brewing inthe sea. Its going towards the land of Dunbroch" the captain said.

"Good thing we reached Berk on time" Stoick said.

They got off the boat. "Oh hi son back so early"Stoick greeted.

"Dad, Merida..is..gone" Hiccup said panting.

"What do you mean!"Stoick shouted.
"Gobber said she had bought alot of weapons from him and longneck said she bought clothes from her." Hiccup explained.

"Look what I found"Eleanor said coming out of Merida's room. "She was constantly in touch with Queen Elsa our alliance." Eleanor explained.

Hiccup read the letters and grinded his teeth in anger. "She was planning this from a long time, I can't believe it!!" He said throwing the letters onthe ground.

"We need to talk to this 'Queen Elsa'" Hiccup said stomping outside." After I find Merida".

"Oh no you don't" Stoick said grabbing him from behind. "There is a terrible storm about to come, I can't let you go to the sea."

"But dad M-"

"She did that for her poeple, you do this for your poeple. We need to prepare Berk for the great flood and hope she reaches Dunbroch safely" Stoick said locking Hiccup inthe cell. He knew his son wouldn't listen.

Merida onthe boat

"Yes Jim" as I saw a soaking wet Jim standing at the cabins doorway.

Me, Mulan and Shang were discussing the battle plan.

"Its raining hard, as I predicted the storm is coming towards Dunbroch from from Berk.
We are trapped like a sandwich" Jim Hawkins said brushing his wet hair out of his eyes.

"How many boats we have?" Merida asked worried.

"25"Peter pan replied entering the cabin.

"And how many -" suddenly the boat toppled and everyone fell towards the left.

Water came in from the window, wetting Merida who fell just beneath it.

They all ran to the deck, gripping the edge. It was raining hard and ship crashed against a rock.

"Make that 20" Peter said as five of the boats smashed against the rock.

Boat again toppled. A man who was at the edge fell over board.

"Oh this is bad" Merida said hanging from the corner of the ship.

Boat again toppled. It was raining hard. Everyone was soaking wet and shivering. The deck started to fill up with water.

Poeple were constantly falling overboard. Some poeple were jumping off the ship hoping to swim towards the shore.

Lightening striked the boat and hole was made inthe middle of the ship. Water started filling up.

"Jump!!" Shang shouted holding Mulan's hand and jumped off.

Peter took hold of Wendy's hand and jumped.

Jim took hold of Anastasia' s hand and jumped.

Merida jumped as well." Goodbye Mom, dad, Hamish, Harris, Hubert and Hiccup I am sorry that I didn't listen to you. Please forgive me." The water started coming up her waist. Her breath was hitching by the salt water. She was shivering because of the ice cold water. Her body started turning blue. It was like thousand knives attacked her at the same time. Slowly the pain started to subdue. Her body started to turn numb as the water reached up to her head.

Her blurry vision saw her friends who were trying their best to survive. Finally darkness
