"Mum no" Merida whispered as she saw her mother still inthe bear form.

"I did everything right, why didn't it work?" She asked herself.

Her mother stared back at her with worried eyes.

"Lass why dont ya look for the witch, while I take mum and the boys back to the castle?" Fergus suggested putting his hand on his daughter's shoulder.

Merida's confused expression changed into a determined one. "Your right da" she said putting on her cloak.

"And Ma, I promise to make everything right again" she said hugging her mother.

Her mother nodded and then Merida jumped on Angus's back going into the deeper parts of the forest.

Hours passed and Merida hadn't found a single trace of the witch or any wisp which would lead towards the witch.

They were getting nowhere like this.  "Angus lets rest for the night better than searching aimlessly" she said getting off her horse and getting comfortable onthe forest ground.

Then next morning she felt something tickling her nose. She opened her eyes to come to face to face with the blue wisp.

The wisp disappeared and reappeared few inches away from her. Merida quickly got up and slowly walked towards it trying to catch it. When she was only two steps away the wisp again disappeared and reappeared much further than before.

Merida glanced at her sleeping horse, No time to waste I will get Angus later  she decided and continued following it.

The wisp were leading her more deeply inthe forest. Merida thought they were leading her to the witch's new location but that was not all what was in stored for her.

The wisp started disappearing faster every time and Merida started running to keep up with it. Her eyes were only onthe wisp she didn't notice a log of wood beneath her feet and immediately tripped on it.

She fell face first onthe grassy ground, breathing heavily after her sudden fall.

"Are you alright? " a unfimiliar voice called out and Merida looked upto see a man with brown hair and green eyes running towards her in panic.

"Its ok, I'm alright" she said raising her hand as to stop him.

"Really?, cause your leg is telling another story" Hiccup said and Merida noticed her left leg bended in a odd angle.

Merida tried to move it and pain surged into her body, "Aaagh" she groaned rubbing her left leg.

"Stop trying to move it, let me help" the man said coming over to her and kneeling beside her left leg.

"Okay this gonna hurt a little" he said twisting her leg and she screamed in pain as her face turned red and she started sweating profusely.

Suddenly the pain vanished which surprised Merida." Now try to move it" he said and she moved it without any pain.

He stood up and offered Merida his hand for her to stand up. She slowly stood up taking support from both of his shoulders.

"Thanks umm.."

"Hiccup, my name is Hiccup" he introduced.

"Thank you Hiccup for helping me, is there anyway I can repay you" she asked.

"Well have you seen a gaint black lizard?" He asked with a hopeful expression.

"Gaint lizard? You mean a dragon?!!" She asked getting excited.

"Yeah have you seen him?"

"No, I am sorry I haven't seen any dragon" she frowned and his smile disappeared.

"But I can help you look for him" she said giving him a small smile which he returned.

"Toothless!! Toothless!!" Hiccup shouted.

"Toothless!!" She followed.

"Gahh!!" They heard a distant roar and soon they saw a black figure inthe sky.

"Bud where were you?" Hiccup said running towards his dragon who just landed.

Toothless opened his mouth which was filled with fish mush.

"Dining alone huh bud?" He joked.

"Can I touch him?" A curious voice interupped their conversation.

"This is Toothless" Hiccup introduced but Toothless hissed at her.

"You might wanna drop your arrows and bow so he can trust you" Hiccup hinted and she nodded.

She threw them a little far away from them and then Toothless's eyes widened in curiosity.

"Now" he started taking her right hand and gently placing it at Toothless's snout. Toothless blended his head towards the ground and Merida gently rubbed it.

Suddenly he started licking her." He likes you" Hiccup explained and Merida laughed trying to remove the saliva from her face.

Suddenly she understood everything the wisp brought her to Hiccup, Hiccup has a pet dragon and dragons a mythical creatures, Hiccup must know about magic that means she can ask him how to turn her mum back to normal.

"Umm Hiccup can I ask you something?" Merida asked nervously.

"Sure"he said feeling a bit nervous.

"Do you how to reverse a curse?" Merida asked.

"Reverse a curse?, hmm no. Can you explain" he said scratching his chin with a thoughtful look in his eyes.

Merida hesitated at first but decided to tell him anyway. She told how she turned her mum into a bear and even after following the witch's instructions her mum didn't turn back to normal and now she was trying to find a way to remove the curse.

"I don't anything about removing curses but I know someone who does have this type of knowledge" he said climbing on Toothless's back and giving his hand to Merida. "Hop on" he said and she climbed behind.

"Hold on tight your in for a bumpy ride" Hiccup said wearing his helmet and then taking off inthe sky.

At first Merida was scared and clung onto his waist tightly but slowly she started to relax and enjoy the beautiful view.

Hiccup missed Merida's arms round his waist but he knew pretty soon they would be back.

"Bud time to land" he said patting Toothless's head and he nodded.

"Fast and Furious style" Hiccup whispered as they dived backwards.

"Aaaaaaahhhh!!" Merida screamed clinging to Hiccup for her dear life.

Toothless had just started. He started spinning in circles flying up and down with super speed.

"Hiccup are ya done scaring me to death" she hissed angrily at him when Toothless had started flying normally again.

"Oh princess, I think I am falling for your sense of humour" he said purposely jumping from Toothless.

Merida almost got a heart attack. " Hiccup what the hell are you doing!!" Merida shouted on top of her.

He just chuckled seeing her worried expression as he opened his fake wings and then Merida relaxed seeing him flying with the support of the fake wings.

"Aww you do care" he teased when Toothless was flying beside him with Merida on his back.

Finally after almost losing her stomach two times they finally reached Berk.

"Well I am saying sorry in advance for whatever my family and friends say to you" Hiccup said as they were walking towards his house.

"Ookay" Merida said not quite getting what he meant.

"Hiccup back so early, did you mis- Oh My God!! Hiccup has brought a girl!!!" Astrid shouted in excitement.

"Valka come out quickly, Hiccup has brought a girl!" Astrid shouted and Valka came running out of the house.

"Finally! I thought I would never live to see this day"

Valka grabbed Merida face with both hands tightly.

"Two eyes"
"Nose"
"Two ears"
"Working teeth"

"Your perfect! Welcome to the family" Valka said giving Merida a bear hug.

"Mom! Mom wait listen to me! She's not my girlfriend. She has problem and maybe Gothi can help" Hiccup explained.

Valka frowned finally letting go of Merida.

"Aww but you were so perfect together!!" Astrid whined.

"Astrid they aren't a couple....yet" Valka whispered the last part and both of them smirked.

"So dear what's your name?" Valka asked.

"Merida" Merida answered confidently.

"Merida?, you mean the princess of highlands that Hiccup is always sketch-mmmmmm" Astrid was cut off by Hiccup keeping his hand over her mouth.

"What Astrid meant was that I love sketching the highlands. Beautiful place  isn't it" he quickly giving a nervous smile.
( smooth Hiccup smooth)

"Uh huh" Merida replied only half believing him.

"So mom where's Gothi?" He asked looking around.

"Gothi had gone to another village but don't worry she will be back day after tommorow" Valka said feeling secertly happy that she could get to spend more time with her future daughter in law.

"Until then Merida you are our guest" Valka said offering her hand and Merida shook it politely.

"If you dont mind, Can I borrow some clothes. My dress is smelling of Toothless's saliva" Merida asked.

"Come with me!!" Astrid said dragging Merida with her.

Hiccup smiled seeing Merida and Astrid getting along. Valka noticed this and later walk towards her son.

"So this is the Princess of Dunbroch you were stalking since when you were 15" she teased.

"Mom I wasn't stalking her, I was just keeping a eye on her" he protested

"Ok Mr guardian angel, I suggest you hide all the drawings you made of her before we take her to our home" Valka said patting her son's back and then going to make the lunch arrangements.

"Oh shit!!" He muttered running inside his house to his room.

He started hiding all the drawings which wasn't easy considering the fact they were above 200 in number.

"Hiccup!! Come down! Its lunch time" Valka shouted from down the stairs.

"Coming mom" he shouted back leaving the pile as it is.

Lunch area half hour later

"Hiccup stop playing with your food" Valka scolded.

"Mom where did Astrid take Merida?" Hiccup asked and Valka shrugged but smirked as well.

"Missing her already son? Well it's a good thing I decided to takeover your Cheif duties for a while. Who knew that you were looking for chances to talk to Merida"

"She was hurt and it was my duty to help her and then when she asked for help I couldn't say no" He defended himself but Valka only laughed.

"Making excuses just like your father when he used to meet me" Valka said her face forming a sad smile inthe memory of her dead husband.

"He will always be with us" Hiccup said wiping the stray tears from her mother's face.

"I know but Hiccup but I want to tell you something, never leave Merida's side. I regert what I did. I regert never coming back to you and your father. I missed alot happy memories between us. No matter how differently you think but remember you love each other so solve your differences together but never leave eachother's side" Valka explained with a serious expression.

"Mom your saying like we are getting married tommorow, I would be very lucky if a girl like Merida would like some like me" He said nervously running his hand through his hair.

Merida and Astrid

"Hiccup's gonna faint when he sees you" Astrid said braiding Merida's hair.

"Well I hope not cause I am no sleeping beauty's prince to wake him up" she said and Astrid laughed.

"So do you know how to fight with a sword?" Astrid asked and Merida nodded.

"I do but i am best in archery" Merida smirked.

"Ok I can challenge you to archery competition" Astrid said competitively. Finishing Merida's braid.

"Your on" Merida said standing up and they shook hands.

"Pleasure is all mine"

Back to Lunch area

"May I present to you, Merida!!" Astrid shouted and Merida blushed in embarrassment as series of gasp were heard by the poeple.

"Woah, she's something" Snotlout said who was sitting beside Hiccup
Hiccup smacked him onthe face and then turned his attention back to Merida who was walking towards him.

"Am I  looking okay?" She asked him unsurely.

"Your looking perfect....just..one thing" he said pulling her fur hood on her head so nobody could see her face properly except for him.

Merida took the seat next to him while Astrid joined Eret.

"I hope you like fish" Valka asked.

"Well fish is nicer than sheep intestines so yea I do" she said giving a small smile.

The lunch passed quickly, Merida really liked the fact that woman in Berk use weapons and there are less rules of table manners etc.  The conversation was dominated by Hiccup who told how he defeated the red death and lost his left leg and then his recent victory against Drago.

"Well Hiccup why don't you take Merida on a tour while me, Astrid and Eret have some business to attend to" Valka said standing up and soon poeple also started leaving.

"Hey Hiccup, you must be busy with all the Cheif duties. Let me show Merida around" Snotlout said grinning.

"Thankyou Snotlout, for your kind offer but I think I am free enough" Hiccup said a little sternly causing Snotlout to gulp.

"Come on Merida" he said grabbing her hand and walking out.

"Sorry for my family and friends there you know" he said nervously.  Merida put her hand on his shoulder and gave him a easy smile.

"Don't worry, my parents who have reacted the same way but your family isn't the one scaring me. You are" she said straight forwardly crossing her arms.

"Me how?" He asked surprised.

"Um since when I was called a highland" she said taking out a painting from her skirt pocket.

"Where did you find that? Astrid!!" He groaned getting angry.

"No I found it myself, Astrid said me to find you in your house. I knocked on your room but no one was there but I found sketches and paintings of me sprawled onthe floor. This was my favourite" she said handing him back the painting.

"Merida look I am sorry but assure you I am not a crazy stalker or something like that" he apologized.

Instead of getting angry, Merida started laughing.

"Hiccup for five years you have been watching over me and you think I wouldn't notice. At first I was creeped out but then I start admiring your silent company. You maybe good in hiding but not that good. You should see yourself when your drawing, your focusing face is so cute.  I started  getting worried when I didn't saw you for few days but then you came back. I have been waiting 5 years for you to come out of your hiding spot and talk to me and thank god you finally did" she said grinning from ear to ear.

"Well..I..I don't know what to say" he said smirking.

"Well I know, It feels good to finally talk to you Hiccup Horrendous Haddock".

"Well the pleasure is all mine, Princess Merida of Dunbroch"

"The wisp led me to you, that means you are important to me. It means your my fate"

"You were always important to me. I don't need any wisp to tell me that your my fate" Hiccup said staring into her ocean blue eyes  and placing her hand on his chest.

"You don't know what you have done to my heart"

Well hello poeple!! Long time no see. I missed you guys. I feel so happy updating after such a longtime.

Well originally this story was soo long but I wanted to update so i shortened it alot. I was thinking of creating a short book for this one shot. Believe me it will have more drama than you can handle. What do you think guys? Help me.
